Font Preview stops at Symbol font

I use Illustrator CS3 at work and CS2 at home, both windows XP. On both, when clicking in the font selection and arrowing through the fonts to preview them, it seems to get stuck on Symbol and I have to manually click in the dropdown to select the next font and continue. On the CS2 version, after choosing the font after Symbol, it loops through the next 5 or 6 fonts and i have to manually click the dropdown again.
Is there a fix for these?

Instead of going down through the list, go up with the
up arrow key, seems to sidestep the problem.

Preview stopped working?!

I ran CleanMyMac program and then suddenly the next day I found that the preview stopped working.
I tried clearing the cache , containers , Preferences , SavedApplicationState inside the Library folder still I dont find it opening.

Make sure both computers are turned on and awake.
Connect a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort or ThunderBolt cable to each computer.
Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac being used as a display to enable TDM.
Note: In Keyboard System Preferences, if the checkbox is enabled for "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys," the key combination changes to Command-Fn-F2.

Why has my Preview stopped responding and won't open any files?
Each time I try to open Preview it just hangs and I have to close the Prog by "Force Quit"

Sorry to hear you are having this issue today.
Does this happen on all files or a specific file?
If this is happening on a specific file, it is most likely that file.
If this is happening on all files, I would check to see if this is happening in other users accounts as well. If you dont have other users, create one and see if preview works inside that new user account.

1. Use these DNS: Google and Verizon DNS

2. Then apply these instructions:
Windows XP
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open field type cmd and click OK.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Your problem should be 100% solved

Why does preview stop playing a track?

preview stops playing a track after 13-15 seconds and moves to the next one

I want to add that I have reinstalled iTunes and the problem persists.

Preview Stops

I checked posts regarding when the "preview stops and will
not play continuously" and I did have buttons that needed to be
clicked to go to url or pdf. So by allowing on the buttons only one
attempt and then allowing to continue the slide show sort of works
(thats if they click the button), but what if you would like to
just give them the option. For instance, if they don't click the
button by the end of the time allowed for that slide, it just goes
to the next slide anyway. Any way to do this?

You may edit the Button or Click Box so that it doesn't pause
the slide. If you look at the Options tab, there should be an
option for Pausing. Just clear the check box and you should be
golden.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
ipconfig /flushdns
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now try your preview music again.

This is normal. Premiere Pro didn't add the Don't Stop Playback feature until CS6.

How do I stop the + symbol from appearing in my form fields

I've been using Acrobat 10 Pro for some time now to create and fill forms. Recently when I populate any field with data, a "+" symbol also shows up. I haven't a clue about what turned this on or how to turn it off. Please help! I need to get this batch of forms out.

It means that more text than can be displayed in the field is present. You can turn it off via a user preference: Edit > Preference > Forms > Show text field overflow indicator
but it's better to make the field large enough or the font size smaller (or set to Auto) so it doesn't happen.

Excel Print preview stopped working and when save as pdf, pdf is blank

excel home and student 2011
i was working on 2 documents for our accountant.
created one in excel, converted to pdf
created second one in excel, converted to pdf
there was maybe a 30 minute time lapse between these 2 files...tops
the first file does in fact have a print preview, and the pdf opens and is viewable.
HOWEVER, on the second file, there is no print preview, and pdf is blank.
(although the printer does in fact print the file with all the words and whatnot on it...)
blank pdf prints blank.
i tried xlsx, and xls to pdf, and nothing works.
it seems that all of the files created before this troublesome one can be converted and seen in print preview....even if i add a new sheet to the workbook, that works just fine...can print preview and convert pdf no problems.
now, when i try to do that with the second file, or any new excel doc, i canNOT convert or print preview....everything is blank.
one minute it was working, the next it's not.
it works for some excel files while not working for newer ones.
nothing was changed in preferences for excel, preview, or the printer, unless i accidentally typed a keyboard command that would allow this to happen.
i REALLY need to be able to convert excel to pdf! and i really don't want to have to print them out just to scan them in and save the scans as pdf...not fun.
i have been researching, or trying to research this here,and it seems that there is a known bug for office 2008, or for a different OS, but none of the work arounds for those issues are helping me here!

Try different page setups and layouts. Reinstall the Office fonts, or check for new patches from Microsoft. Check in Microsoft Office forums. Mind you PDF from preview and print are not as complete as Adobe Acrobat Pro, and are based on open source PDF standards. I don't know how well the standards were at the time your Office application was written, or if 10.5's PDF standard was up to Office's snuff, or if you updating to the latest available Adobe Acrobat Reader and Plugin will help, but between Office's and Adobe's forum you may be abl eto find an answer.

Ram Preview - Stopping after 40 frames

Hi All,
I've recently moved to After effects CC on my home computer, and for some reason whenever I try and RAM preview it stops after 40 frames or so...
The animation is REALLY basic (full screen shape layers turning on and off to the music) and an mp3 file playing in the background.
My computer spec is:
21.5-inch iMac Mid 2011
OSX 10.8.5
2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
I have the following multiprocessing prefs:
I would greatly appreciate any help on the matter... the project seems far too basic for it to be having genuine issues with playback...

Thanks for the reply.
I've changed the .mp3 file to a .wav file and that seemed to fix everything, for the time being...
It previewed for 10 seconds fine, but after about 15mins of working on this the RAM preview area has started to shrink again and it's only previewing just over half (5 seconds).
I changed my memory and allocated 4GB to other apps, also turning off rendering multiple frames... (by the way for some reason I can't get my 'actual cpu's that will be used' to change from 0? This seemed odd). Still no change.
I've attached a screenshot of my comp details below, along with a shot of my screen when RAM previewing... (you can see the green bar does not go all the way). I'm not working with ANY footage which is why this is most peculiar, just the wav file so I can edit to the beat.
Once again if there is anything else you can think of...

The preview stopped working in the develop module.

Initially the preview worked for 15 minutes and then stopped generating a preview of the desired pre-set.
Clicking on the pre-set did have the correct picture but the preview wasn't available.
It would be easier to see what preview you were looking at if you had a higher contrast on the grey background too.

Hi - I'm seeing the same issue. And yes I am seeing it in Develop with Grid view on second monitor.
I can reproduce this by hovering over another image in Grid on second monitor (this brings up the new image in Navigator), then going back to main screen and hovering over any preset - no more preset updates to Navigator.
Interestingly navigator continues to show files if hovered over in Grid on the second monitor though..
Presets continue to work if clicked so this seems to be purely an issue with updating Navigator with Presets 'on the fly'.

Browser preview stopped showing design update

I am new to Dreamweaver, and whenever I make changes to the
page, I will preview the changes using browser preview. After
making several previews back and forth, my browser suddenly stopped
displaying the latest design updates. I have done every suggestion
mentioned about resetting, & clearing caches in my browser, but
i don't see the latest design update I did. In dreamweaver design
view, I can see the image I added, but when viewed in the browser,
what I see is the design prior to the addition of the new image.
What else can I do to correct this? When I use a different browser,
I see the new design.

Which browser isn't working?
Also make sure that you are looking at localhost and not
remote site. I do
this sometimes and get the same result.

Project in 'Preview' Stops

I am attempting to preview my project in a web browser. I can successfully proceed through the first few slides, however I get to a point where the project just stops. I've looked at my settings for the slide and it appears I have all of my annimated text and objects timed appropriately. The Time line looks good. Is there a setting or some other feature I should be looking at?

At first blush, based on what I see nothing seems to be obviously halting things.
However, on closer inspection it would seem your slide itself is timed for 600 seconds?! I'm thinking that may have a factor in things. Why so long? In all the time I've used Captivate, I've never really ever seen an instance where a single slide needed to be longer than perhaps 10 seconds or so. 600 seconds for a single slide far too much in my own estimation.
