Font probs transferring iweb to a new computer?

I transferred my iweb site to a new computer and a lot of the fonts are messed up? (note, I used standard ariel fonts)
I copied over the entire domain folder.
the original site was made on version 1.1.2 and i am now running iweb 2.0.3 could someone tell me if there is something i can do to remedy this as it'll take a long time changing every letter that needs fixed. Thanks - Ricky

Would not want to confuse OP into thinking the procedure of double-clicking the Domain file is required everytime the desire to open app is present. _Look Here_ for complete Apple documentation. Given that information coupled with your suggestion OP could copy the Domain file to anywhere on their new Mac and then double-clicking Domain file would be +absolutely required+ to open project in iWeb. This would then set new location of Domain file where afterwards simply launching iWeb app from dock, app folder or otherwise would open the Domain file, wherever it was located. Your suggestion mentioned copying Domain to equivalent location of ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb and in doing so double-clicking is not required since this is the default location iWeb looks for the Domain file at anyway.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and now want to work on my blog with iWeb. I published my site to a folder on my old iBook and then transferred it to the Pro with a usb drive. Now how do I open my site in iWeb on the new computer?

Publishing your site to a folder is useless for your purposes. You need to transfer the Domain file which created the site to your new machine.

Transferring Elements to a new computer

I downloaded Photoshop Elements a couple years ago and just bought a new Mac. Can I transfer Elements and Bridge to my new Mac? I put the files on a drive and transferred it to my new computer, but they aren't working right. Any suggestions?

What is the version of Elements you are trying to install. And also program cannot be migrated from one computer to another, you have to install it to make it work.

IWeb and a new computer

I have a new macbookpro, and want to access my old (from previous mac laptop) IWeb website and make changes to it, but when I open IWeb on the new computer, it prompts me to start all over again. Can I get in to my old iWeb and be able to edit it?

The hard drive on this laptop, my MacBook Pro, crashed and was replace. Much of the personal data was lost. Leopard was also installed.
I have several .Mac accounts. And have sevral websites that have been created. The sites that were constructed using .Mac Homepage I can still access and edit. HOW DO I ACCESS AND EDIT THOSE SITES CREATED WITH iWeb?
Aside from the disappointment and inconveneince of having my hard drive crash and losing personal data, the service experience has been horrible. My first call to Apple care led me to the .Mac support. After no response in the prescribed "48 hours", I arrived at the Apple Store in Phoenix armed with my ProCare card. NOTHING! No one could help and I was directed back to either Apple Care or the .Mac suppofrt web pag....Apple ****.

I transferred CS5 to a new computer using PC transfer program. CS5 started up on the new computer OK, but now does not recognize raw files. Should I uninstall and reinstall again?

I transferred CS5 to a new computer using PC mover ultimate. CS5 appeared to start up normally, I had to insert the serial number from my original CD. However, now the program does not recognize CR files and Adobe bridge is not working properly. I get messages that CS5 needs to be updated, but the updates fail. What should I do? Should I uninstall CS5 on the new computer, uninstall CS5 on the old computer using the original CD, and then reinstall CS5 using the CD on the new computer?

Transferring programs does not work well with Adobe applications. You should install them.
As far as having the program on different machines goes, you are allowed to have two activated installations so if it is working on the original machine there is no reason to remove it unless you need the space.

Transferring camera roll into new computer.

So... I got my laptop stolen and decided to get a new one. The thing is that I can't seem to download the Photo Library pictures from my old computer that are stored in my iphone, into the new laptop... is there anyway i can do that?

Photos captured by your iPhone and a photo saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received MMS are stored in your iPhone's Camera Roll. Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
The title of your post is "Transferring camera roll into new computer" which you aren't asking about. You are asking about importing or transferring photos from your iPhone's Photo Library, which is completely separate from and has nothing to do with the Camera Roll.
Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are stored in your iPhone's Photo Library, which is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced on your iPhone.
Photos stored on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only which should be kept in a separate location from your laptop in the event it is lost or stolen. The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction, but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos will be lost in the process.

IWeb stuff to new computer?

I will be upgrading to a new iMac soon from a hand-me-down G4. I am not the original Administrator of the G4, and have managed to use it without major issue (after acquiring the proper password). I assume I could take the G4 and have the contents of the hard drive transferred to the new machine, but I would really like to 'start fresh' and eliminate some of the naming issues and some duplicative file issues that exist. The computer's 'name' is the name of the person who had it before me, and I don't know (or maybe don't want to deal with) having a new computer that has carry over from an old one. My primary question is this: I have several websites created in iWeb (one of which is a substantial one that it used by my work colleagues). Is it possible to somehow 'copy', or whatever term applies, these sites to a new machine?

That should be the case yes. If that isn't the case however you just would have to go into Safari and go to File=>Export Bookmarks and transfer that file to the new computer (may have a look at permissions). Same for Address Book. And for Mail I guess you could transfer Mail folders and go to File=>Import Mailboxes (not sure about that one sorry... I'm not a syncing pro... However it's also good to start Mail from zero... I always have tons of useless Mails...)

I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! I have music in iTunes that was purchased with an account that no longer exists. I'm transferring music to a new computer so the new iTunes is asking me to sign in to the old account to authorize the old music. Is there a work-around for this?

Just to clarify: I purchased some of my older music in iTunes with an account that got deleted. I cannot recover or use this old account. I transferred music from my old iTunes to a new computer and that new iTunes on the new computer is asking me to sign into the old account to authorize the music. So, is there another way to transfer this music to my new iTunes? I'm using a USB thumb drive to transfer the music. Also, music that was purchased with my current account tranfers just fine.

Transferring iTunes library to new computer with Windows Vista OS

Using the Apple Support Guide I have tried to move my iTunes library to my new laptop using my iPod as the back up device. When I went to copy my music to my new computer by dragging the iTunes folder out of the Music folder to the desktop, a message occurred saying I must be the Administrator to do this (I am) so it would not complete the task. Instead I have located the iPod in Computer and dragged the iTunes folder into the Music Folder and replaced the iTunes folder in Music with the iTunes folder from Computer (i.e. iPod).
When I open the iTunes folder in Music, all the folders with all my music are there. However when I open the iTunes program there is no music in the library that shows up. If I sync my iPod will all the music then be transferred into the iTunes library?
As we have moved overseas I no longer have the old computer so the backup on my iPod is the only backup of the music we have so I don't want to risk deleting it.

Transferred all files to new computer. My iTunes does not find my music. The "scan for media" button doesn't work and I cannot get the iTunes to see the music that is clearly on my new computer.

I am stumpted. I transferred and have all my music in my iTunes folder on my new computer and I also have it on an external hard drive. I've added the new computer to the list of authorized computers and followed the "advanced" preferences options to select my iTunes folder and still nothing happens. No music, no playlists, NOTHING. The I am completely shocked that none, NONE of the apple support pages can help me. I have Windows 8.1. Please can someone help me. I cannot believe how hard this is.

Can't open Raw files after transferring CS5 to my new computer

I just transferred cs5 to my new imac computer using my time machine backup. I now get a "photoshop does not recognize this file type" when I try to open a raw file from photoshop. When I try to open my raw files through bridge I get the message "you do not have permission to open the document. I have checked my permission preferences and have reading and writing permissions and updated to 6.7 ACR. I dont know what to do next?

I have an imac OSX 10.8.2. So is the application folder the correct location for the CS5 folder? There is a lot of unclear information about this out on the web.
Everything I loaded today has a CS5.1 name to it. I assumed that it was an updated version from my original CS5? If I click on the CS5 folder located in my user file it opens photoshop (probally means its not uninstalled... hum). I cant access it through utilities/adobe installers/uninstall CS5. So maybe I should do the Script cleaner like you mentioned? Or maybe CS5 and CS5.1 are the same program like you mentioned?
When I follow the path to camera raw you mentioned I get to a photoshop raw "pop up" but ACR doesnt open up. Are you asking for me to locate the Camera Raw plug in folder or look for multiples of the file inside my plugins folder? Their isnt a ACR file in my CS5 file that I found in my user folder or the CS5.1 file in my applications folder. Where would I typically find it? Im having a hard time finding it at all.
Im on my 2nd day of troubleshooting and Ive read so many articles and help threads. Ive had a call back order requested from adobe... Im still waiting 3 hours later. Im afraid they might just reject my request for help since I dont have CS6. You have by far been the best help Ive found. Thank you very much! If you can think of anything else to resolve this please let me know. Im so frusterated at this point... trying to be positive though, Im learning alot.

My G4 finally died, but before I could back up any iWeb files. I have bought a new MacPro now, and need to know if its possible to get it all back from the internet version somehow?

I'm sorry....there really isn't anyway to import your
online site back into iWeb for further editing and
publishing. In the future, you should keep a backup
of the Domain file if you can. This is the one file
in which iWeb stores everything about your website.

I'm having this same problem-- I uploaded my iweb content to a pre-existing server (not .mac). since then I've had to do an erase and install (long story) and my last backup was a month ago. I downloaded all the iweb files from the site... but there's no way to restore them and get back to work?
my question is:
if I restore my domain file from a backup a month ago will I be able to add files created AFTER the backup? there's no "import" feature in the file menu.
or am I just screwed?

Moving iWeb to a new computer

i have just taken delivery of my new macbook pro and I want to move the maintenance of my iWeb generated web site on to the new computer - how do I do it?

The first thing to do is launch and then quit iWeb on the new MBP, this creates a couple of folders and files.
Next, on the PB, navigate to User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
You are now going to copy this file to the same location on the MBP, there will already be one there (you creates it above). As long as you haven't done any work in iWeb on the MBP then you can simply Trash the existing domain file and replace it with the one from the PB.
Now launch iWeb and you should see you old site on your new computer.
Some might suggest moving the preference file as well:
User/Library/Preference/com.apple.iWeb.plist
I would just go with the domain file first and see how you do.
Of course, if you are copying the whole of your old Home folder across then it should be there.
Having done this, I would suggest doing a Publish All, I am not sure if any changes happen to blog naming etc when moving from PPC to Intel. Someone else felt that it might have for them.
