Font quality problems after Firefox reset

Since resetting Firefox fonts sometimes display poorly at default sizes, but if I zoom in several levels then zoom back out, the problem usually goes away. Solutions?
Update: I've found that just clicking on the Desktop also makes the problem go away.

Try to set the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't help disable Direct2D by setting the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true on the about:config page and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.
You can also try to uninstall Windows update KB2670838 if you have this update.

After firefox reset, how do I pick out things from my scrapbook I want to keep

after resetting firefox my scrapbook was missing. I found the old firefox folder but I don't know how to get some of the things in there out. Across the top of the folder it says "This xml file doesn't have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below"

Did you save anything in Scrapbook yet after your reset? Hopefully nothing critical because I don't know how to merge the new and old.
You can copy the entire ScrapBook folder from your old Firefox profile file from the folder on your desktop into your "live" Firefox profile folder.
Here's how I suggest doing that.
(1) Open the Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop, and click into your old profile folder so you can see the ScrapBook folder. Size this window so you'll be able to accommodate a second window and copy between them.
(2) Open your current Firefox profile folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leaving this folder open, switch back to Firefox and Exit
(3) Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename the "new" ScrapBook folder here to ScrapBook-Empty (or something similar)
(4) Resize this window so you can see the other one.
In the old profile folder, right-click>Copy the ScrapBook folder, then in the new profile folder, right-click>Paste.
If you have a lot of saved pages, this will take time. The copied ScrapBook folder should sort alphabetically just above the ScrapBook-Empty folder.
(5) Start Firefox and check that the ScrapBook extension can see the data.
Success?

N8 Maps problem after hard reset

There have been some cases where users have used the 3-fingered hard-reset method on their N8 devices and lost Ovi Maps in the process. If you find yourself in this situation, you can now resintall Maps via the software update feature in Ovi Suite. For other apps, you may need to refer to your nearest Nokia Care point.

Time capsule setting up problem after factory reset

What's the next step after factory reset to set up my time capsule again???
i did factory reset for 4-5 times and i cant use my time capsule to create a network, join an existing network or anything else.
i also tried normal reset but still nothing can be done.
There is always a message at the end " an unexpected error occured. Try again"

Plug the TC into the computer by ethernet..
Make sure the computer has no other network running and nothing else is plugged into the TC.. just TC Lan port to the computer ethernet.
Now press reset and open airport utility.
Generally you will have no issue once it is isolated. Do the setup and then you can disconnect and put it back in the network.
If it doesn't work, is the LED on the TC flashing amber or what??
Is the ethernet port connectivity LED on?

Had problems after firefox update. reset went awry. created new profile but cannot retreive old profile data.

I am running firefox on a MacBook pro. Mac OS X version 10.7.5. There was a firefox update about a day or 2 ago. Ever since it was done, I was getting "syntax error" 5 times, every time a page was loaded. A little research suggested that an application or plug in called "social fixer" might be the problem but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it so decided to try to reset Firefox. Minutes went by and a message was on the screen saying the old firefox files were being "cleaned up" or something but it seemed to be "stuck" as the progress bar was kind of jerky. Not looking like it usually does. So I clicked on "cancel." After that, I couldn't even get firefox to start. It would say my profile is unavailable or inaccessible. Following instructions found on the support site, I created a new profile and I thought I copied the files from the previous firefox over to the new profile but when I start firefox, it's a blank slate. None of my book marks or passwords are there. It has to be here somewhere but I can't seem to figure it out.

Sounds like there was a problem with updating the profiles.ini file.

You can try to delete the current profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile in case Firefox hasn't done this.
You can check if there is a profile folder with a time stamp number appended and in that case you can set the location of a newly created profile to that folder.

Need time stamps on browsing history which no longer show after firefox reset

Reset Firefox after Flash problems. Now browsing history does not show time stamps, which it did before. Could find no means on library screen to produce time stamps or alter the page in any way.

5630 Nokia XpressMusic Problem after Hard Reset in...

i have had a problem in my phone 5630 my phone was going to be restarting again and again then i apply hard Reset to it by Pressing *, 3 and Green button it has done smoothly but know when i see in my phone menu the INTERNET folder has not "FACEBOOK AND HI5" APPLICATIONS in my 5630 and also some other applications are not found in my phone which comes with Nokia 5630.
Please tell me how can i get them back into my phone....

after you've hard reset your device, all your personal datas including all your apps will be deleted. The only way to get it back is just by downloading it from the internet egvi.

Font display problem after updating to 10.5.5

After updating to 10.5.5, I have an identical font problem on two different machines: an iMac and a Macbook. The problem concerns font display on the screen and only occurs when viewing PDF files using Leopard's built-in facilities. So the problem shows up in Preview and in Safari, but not when viewing the same file in Adobe Acrobat. (There's also no problem with the same font in MS Word.)
The problem: Many italic characters in Times New Roman Italic display with (more or less) vertical strokes are rendered very thin. The result is a bizarre, distracting effect. The result is particularly noticeable with lowercase "o", but is widespread. I don't have the same problem with plain Times. It's possible other fonts have this too -- I haven't checked them all -- but most don't.
The problem appears to be related to anti-aliasing. When I turn this off in Preview, the display is of course not pretty, but the problem is otherwise entirely gone. (Times New Roman text and Times text now look basically the same.)
I've tried obvious things along the way: reinstalling the font from the system disk, flushing the font cache, etc. even reinstalling the 10.5.5 combo update. Nothing helps.
Any suggestions?

[SOLVED] A3500-FL problem after factory reset

after a hard reset/ factory reset i get boot, but after that , all I see is a black screen with a spinning/ rotating circle in the middle.
I can acces the notification area, but i cannot acces settings or launcher.
help, please!
P.S. i've read everithing about this model and couldn't find a solution. Any help will be highly appreciated

INCREDIBLE!!!
the problem was that I was holding the tablet in portret orientation while it boots.
So, I ACCIDENTALLY keep it in LANDSCAPE mode and, voila! it enters the welcome settings. So easy!

Startup Problems after Firefox 2.0 Installation. Help, please.

A few nights ago I finally acquiesced to the repeated friendly messages asking me to upgrade to firefox 2.0. After installation I restarted firefox and things were going just fine (although I was a little underwhelmed). Still, my mac worked and that's all I particularly care about.
I shut down my MacBook Pro that night without a thought, but now when I try to boot up I get as far as the login screen, enter my information, and then instead of being taken to my desktop I get a blank default background and a pointer--and that's it. Sometimes if I leave the blank background long enough it will close and return me again to the login screen ad naseum.
Does anyone know what's going on here? And out of curiousity, has anyone else had similar problems with the new Firefox? Most importantly, can anyone tell me how to fix this?
(I've already tried starting up in safe mode, by the way. Same thing happens regardless.)

Hi and welcome to the discussions, You may need to repair your startup disk. Boot from your install disc and hold "C" down after you hear the tone and release when you see the Apple logo. Choose your language. Then when the install window opens, choose "Utilities>Disk Utility" from the menu bar. Select the startup volume"MacintoshHD" and click Repair Disk in the lower left after its finished, repair permissions then restart.

Problems after hard reset

OK, did not get my phone booting up, and I need my phone (especially the next days) so I did a "hard reset". Programs on E: drive was not uninstalled. But all on the C: drive. Maps installed OK. And everything seems to work except 3 things: 1) Nokia Store will not install (says "Cannot install!"). Tried installing the "notification support package" that fix store the time Nokia messed up (release an update to early). But that refuses to install as well. Anyone know why these will not install? What do they need that is not there? 2) "Social" install wrong. Didn't get one "Social" app i the list, but one for "Facebook" and one for "Twitter" and a bunch of widgets (that looked ok). But nothing is working, and I can't get to the settings (in the version I had before they were in the "Social" icon I do not have now....) 3) The Office apps are gone. Both "Quick Office" and the PDF-viewer. And that's a crisis!!! So do I have to wait till I get an answer from Nokia and have the reflash my phone again? Or is there anything I can to to fix these three problems (there's gotta be someone out there that knows what the problems are - you are so clever - can imaging no one has a solution :-) Well well... The phone is working again at least for now :-) Until next hang or till Nokia re-flashes it (hope they can re-flash it with Anna then, so I can get rid of this Belle trouble :-)

WoW !!! You seem to have had a terrible time ? Usually when I do a hard reset and then a software update it all goes really smoothly, and the update works fine, which is what happened with Belle, and the whole thing is working smoothly and is very customisable !! Maybe you should try to re-install from Nokia Suite ?

Hotsync problems after hard reset

I have a Palm T/X it was turning itself on and running the battery down. I got on your fourm and found someone else was having the same
problem which the advise was to do a hard reset. I followed this advise and to a certain extent it worked, my only problem now is I can't
get the Palm to hotsync to my computer any more. Has anyone got any advise I have tried everything I can think of!!!

AirPort Extreme (Dome Style) problem after hard reset

Our AE quit responding so I did a hard reset and now the AE asks for password when trying to set up. Enter "public" as stated in instructions and receive "unknown error (-6753)" Now I can't change any settings on it and can't use it until I change settings. I have reset this unit many times and have never had a problem. I hope it hasn't cratered...the new ones don't work on dial-up...this one was perfect!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. try this:
.Take a note of the IP address that is displayed for the AEBS.
.On your PC, go to Control Panel and open Network Connections.
.Select the Wireless Network Connection and select the Internet Protocols (TCP/IP) properties.
.Select "Use the following address" and enter an address in the same subnet as your AEBS (offset the AEBS address by 1 - if your router is 10.0.1.1 enter 10.1.1.2 as your laptop's address).
.Use the default subnet mask
.Enter the router's IP address as your "Default Gateway"
Close your your network settings windows and you should now be able to download the config of your router. Update your config to what you want it to be and reload the router.
Once it comes back to life, go through the above again and set your laptop to accept addresses via DHCP (select "Obtain IP address automatically").
You should be good to go now and be able to manage the AEBS normally.

does EJB don't recognise new connection refrences? does it still uses old connection
reference and blow up? please help me out here is my errors after Database shutdown
, and after restesing the conncetions
Connection reseting mean I simply entered refresh time 15min that's all I did
It shows in the stdout file that the conncetions
got reset.
