Font/Screen settings under Reports Services 10g

Hello,
How can I determine what my Font and Screen settings are set in the same way as my Oracle 9i iDS environement running under Windows XP Pro.
I am running Forms/reports Services 10g on a Red Hat Linux Enterprise 3 (ES) server.
PT

The listener error is probably because either the listener connecting the db that contains the application data is down or the listner to that db is down.
The sequence you list is for Application Server middle tier where forms and reports services run. Not starting Em agent has only one consequence. You cannot use EM to manage the instance.

  • Report server 6i and Report services 10g

what is the extra features in Report Services 10g which are not available in Report server 6i.
why would we use AS report services 10g rather then report server 6i,and our only requirment is to run oracle report on web which can fulfill with the help of reports server 6i.

There is a long list of new features and I cant put all of them here
    You can see docs below
For running on Web 9i, 10g moves to Servlet based architecture (though old cgi mode is available for backward compatibility). Reports behaves as a component in IAS and can be monitored and managed through Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

  • Date format Problem in forms&reports Services 10g

    Hi Dears,
I Faced a problem during running reports ( i am using forms& Reports Services 10g), when i pass the parameters via parameter form to the report (built in forms10g Rel 2.0) its appearing in arabic like (25-يناير-2010) as my Date Formate is (DD-YYYY-MON) and NLS_LANG parameter is defined as Arabic_Saudi arabia.AR8MSWIN1256 so as a result report is not running due to unknown Date formate, how can i change the Same Date format (DD-YYYY-MON) to appear in english like (25-2010-JAN)
    Thanks

You could specify the parameter as type VARCHAR2, explicitly cast it (maybe to DD.MM.YYYY) when you pass it from forms and cast it back in your query, like TO_DATE(:P_PARAM, 'DD.MM.YYYY')

  • Report Service 10g sometimes hang, sometimes not

    Hi.
    We have a big problem.
We installed AS 10g R2 on a Windows 2k3 Server. The AS itself is running fine, the form application is also running fine.
But when we try to create a report from form, than sometimes the form hangs (look like do nothing and wait until ...). And sometimes it works fine.
We don´t start the report service as in-process.
We now find out over the trace log, that the reports engine stop with the message:
    rwa:rwadri quit
It is also very strange that the same report, first let the report service hang, works on a other time.
And we have the suspicion (we think so), that the report service will not more hang on any time, when it created one report. Until we restart the server.
But it often hangs, when you restart the whole windows 2003 and than start to create a report from form the first time.
Mostly it hangs starting a report the first time, when we want to create a report where the form take a date from the user.
Maybe we have there this pre filled value (for example) in the text-field: "13.06.2006" (dd.mm.yyyy; german format) than it hangs. When we now start the same form and change the day (maybe to "13.06.06") it works. First we thought it is a problem with the date format. But why the same date, first let the report service (and the form) hang, work fine a next time, when the report server create fine a report before?
And when it works the first time (after rebooting) to create a report it will also work with any form next times.
Has anyone any suggestions for us?
We are happy for any tips.
    Thanks.

Has noone any suggestions to this problem?
I find out, that the memory usage on the Win2k3 Ent. Server is very large. We have 2GB RAM. When a report from form is started and hangs (run and run and run ...) the memory usage shown at Enterprise Manager for "Others" goes slowly over 1.3GB (more than 50%). The free memory is (when you wait long enough) slowly running down to round about 450MB.
    Mabye that´s the problem!?
Free disk space on C: (for the temp dir.) is also available (round about 64GB).
Virtual Memory is set between 2GB and 4GB

  • Load balancing Reports Services 10g with WebCache?

    Hi Guys
Does anybody have any good ideas on how to load balance Oracle Reports Services?
Can I do it with WebCache as with Forms Services?
    /Jacob :)

My java application resides in a different server (weblogic) from the Oracle Application server (which has the report server). I do a browser redirect from my java application to a URL of OAS . I have hard coded Oracle Application server and report server name in one of my config files in my java weblogic server
In the above URL, servername:7770 is the Oracle Application Server. I would not have a problem with this since this will be the name of the cluster.
But the problem is server=<report server> . The report server which will pickup my request will be identified only after the browser has redirected to the URL. SO I cannot hard code it in my ajava application.
Can I just remove server=<report server name> when generating URL from my java application when I need to run report server in a clustered load balancing environment?
Sorry if my earlier post was confusing

Environmental error detected: The current Oracle Home and the Oracle Home passed from the installer are not the same. Oracle Net Configuration Assistant cannot continue.

  • Forms and Reports Services 10g(10.1.2.0.2)

Is it possible to run multiple reports at the same time on a single application server? I'm trying to determine the best configuration for printing. Can I create multiple report servers on the same box and cluster them?

You can easily create new report servers on a machine. However, to run several reports in parallel you do not need extra servers. You should configure your existing server with extra engines. This can easily be done by changing the maxEngine attribute of the engine section (engine with id=rwEng) in <reportserver>.conf file. You can also manipulate these values through Application server Control. Change the value to 2 and you can run two reports at the same time. depending on available memory you might consider a value of 4 or 8 as well.

  • Reporting services in three tier SharePoint 2013 environment

    Hi,
I am trying to integrate SQL Server 2012SP1 Reporting Services in a three tier SharePoint 2013 environment, but it seems it is not succesful.
    The setup is as following:
SRV1: SQL Server with content, config,... and the Reporting Service databases.
SRV2: SharePoint 2013 Application server & Central Administration
SRV3: SharePoint Web Front with SharePoint sites
All application pools are started with domain accounts on SRV2 & 3
When opening the Central Administration site, the Reporting Services Service Application and its Proxy is created and configured. On SRV2 the Application exists in the application pool in IIS, but it does not appear in the SRV3. Should it be created manualluy?
In Central Administration, when opening the site settings the Reporting Services section is created, but when opening the Site Settings for the root site the section shows variables:
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,ReportServerSiteSettingsGroupTitle;
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,ScheduleList;
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,SiteLevelSettings;
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,ManageSiteDataAlerts;
I believe i need some help here.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    J

    Hi J-S,
Generally, the issue occurs if you are in the Windows Powershell instead of the SharePoint Management Shell or the Reporting Services - SharePoint mode feature is not installed. So, please double check you are using the SharePoint Management Shell or install
the Add-in by installing the rssharepoint.msi instead. Here is the download link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35583
If it is not the issue, please install the Reporting Services - SharePoint mode from the SQL Server 2012 installation media.

  • Report on Journals, SQL reporting service error

Hi Experts, I have one issue on BPC MS 5.1 "Reports on Journal" issue. When trying to run the report on journals, the pop-up web base screen returning "SQL Reporting Service Error". Going to check the SQL reporting services configuration, all the services are green beside the two optional configurations - "Sharepoint Integration" and "Encryption Keys", and going to webadmin tasks - publish reports, all the items have been build and published. Any clue?
    Thanks
    Thomas

Thanks Sorin, I have no access to the SQL currently, I will get the info ASAP with our basis. By the way, when I run the report from BPC server side, the extra msg came out(not only : Error Msg: Reporting Services Error)
    Error Msg: Reporting Services Error
The item '/XXXAPPset/JEF_LEGALAPP_ByUser' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)
Is this mean something missing when system trying to build the report? since I can't find the Journal report format when I open the link "Http://domain/reports"
    Thanks and Regards,
    Thomas

  • Adobe Reader error with PDF reports created using AS Reports Server 10g

    Hi,
Recently when trying to run reports in our system (which uses Oracle Application Server Forms & Reports Services 10g - 10.1.2.0.2), sometimes when we try to run a report in PDF format the following happens:
    1. A new window appears as expected
    2. This window hangs/appears to try to load for a couple of minutes
    3. Eventually an Adobe Reader error message appears saying the following:
*"There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again".*
I have noticed that this problem only seems to occur when the client has Adobe Reader 9.3 installed (8.2 works fine).
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a known workaround or is this a known issue?
    Many thanks,
    Chris

Does anyone have any ideas on this or has anyone encountered the same problem?
    thanks

  • RC0: RS Installation Problem - The credentials you provided for Reporting Services service are invalid. To continue ...

    Hi
When installing 2008 RC0 I get the following error message:
"The credentials you provided for Reporting Services service are invalid. To continue, provide a valid account and password for the Reporting Services service.
    Error code: 0x84B40000"
During the installation process it never prompted for the credentials to be used for the Reporting Services service (i.e. the Reporting Services service did not appear under the "Service Accounts" tab during the Server Configuration stage of the installation. The other services did appear). In the "Ready to Install" stage the Account under Reporting Services, Service Configuration is given as "udefined". Everything else installed without a problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Egmont

I had a same and similar issue.
I finish the installation by providing SQL Agnt and SQL Service by NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE and blank password. Once complete the installation I changed the Service Account by services.msc to SQL SA account.
Reason: Service account is not granted for Log on as Service.
Solution: Grant the SA to Log on as Service.

Bad Idea When you first install Microsoft SQL Server to run under a Microsoft Windows NT account, SQL Server sets for that Windows NT account various Windows user rights and permissions on certain files, folders, and registry keys. If you later change the startup
account for SQL Server (the MSSQLServer service) and the SQL Server Agent service by using SQL Server Enterprise Manager (SEM) or SQL Server Configuration Manager (SSCM), SEM automatically assigns all the required permissions and Windows user rights to the
new startup account for you so that you do not have to do anything else. We recommend that you use this is the approach to change the service account.

  • (RHEL3) iAS form service 10g  with jpi  1.4x error

    hello~
my form service os is RHEL3 , and i install
oracle form and report service 10g on it !
when i use jinit 1.3.1.13 and ienative VM to test form
, everything is fine , but use jpi 1.4x to test
form will raise the java exception like below :
    FRM-92050
    <java.io.IOException: Negative content-length from HTTP.>
    at oracle.forms.net.HTTPNStream.doGet(Unknow Source)...
    ========================================================
but when i install the IDS 10G in another RHEL3 server
and start the OC4J instance , i test form with
config= jinit or ienative or jpi , everything is fine,
is it a BUG in IAS904 form for linux platform???
I'm sure all config had setup ok..

We had the same error (FRM-92050) (we have a Unix server) and we changed the FORMS60_TIMEOUT=10 (from 5) and upped the users and confirmed processes from the default of 100 to 200 (in the default.env and init<dbname>.ora). Now we are able to connect remotely.
(We had not priviously done all the post install steps. These are included in those steps.)
    good luck,
    LW

  • Reports Services with Oracle9iAS v9.03

I am using Oracle Application Server9i ver 9.0.3. I want to install Oracle Report Services on it. Can I install Oracle Report Services 10g 9.0.4 on it? If not then plz tell me the exact location where i can download Oracle Report Service 9.0.3.

No, you can't and you can't.
I believe AS 9.0.3 is just the Core software: httpd, oc4j and opmn. And "Reports Services" is not packaged stand-alone, but you can download and install Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 9.0.4 (in a separate oracle home), if you don't want the whole BI package.
Downloads are available in the, eh, downloads section (eg. Oracle AS 10g product center).

    Fredrik
