Font selection by typing font name into from down field

I have noticed this since upgrading to Photoshop CC 2014:
When I want to select a font by typing its name's first few characters into the drop down field, all intuitiveness goes out of the window. The very first character I type gets dropped and rather than bringing me closer to the typeface I'm after, it starts presenting all fonts starting with the 2nd character I've typed. I.e. trying to get to the "Titillium" font selection, I start to type "Titil..." and it gives me the "i" listings in my large number of fonts. This is happening on all my installations of Photoshop CC 2014 (3 different Windows computers and setups).
Is this a bug or another example of second-guessing what might be helpful when it actually isn't? Not getting the logic of why I have to type "AArial" if I want to get to the "Arial" font in the selection box.
I know I can simply scroll down in the list of fonts to get to the one I want to use, but in the land of shortcuts, surely scrolling should only ever be the 2nd best choice.

Needed: Script to copy Photo album name into the comments field for pix

I was never in the habit of applying anything to photo comments, but gave my albums a desriptive name so I knew what they were. Now I wish I had because album titles are not searchable. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to create an Automator workflow or Applescript that could take the Album Name and apply it to the comments field for each picture in the album. I have over 25,000 pictures and quite a few albums. I've started to do it manually for each album but would love to find a quicker way to accomplish this.

FYI, it will step through every album; get its name; and then step through every photo in the album and change the comments to the album's name.
I recommend that you make a back-up before proceeding!

When I enter a group name into the Bcc field and try to send the message, I get "[group name] is not a valid e-mail address..."

Been using the same template to send a weekly newsletter for a year or two but now with a recent update to Thunderbird the group name is rejected when I try to send the message:
With a group name in Bcc field, when I press "Send" and try to send the message, I get this alert: "[group name] is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail."

Although not ideal, these workarounds should let you use your mailing lists until a proper fix is implemented:
* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.
* Replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". This requires modifying your mailing list(s) description(s).
* Downgrade to a previous version and disable automatic updates (Windows)

Can file name get from partial field value ?

I have file receiver with FCC, I used variable substitution (I have to use this rather than dynamic configuration, since there are multiple files created by multi-mapping), so the file name is pass via payload to adapter.
In advanced tab, we can assigned to a variable like: payload:MT_XXXX,1,Filename,1
Now I do not want full value of Filename, I just need part of the value of it.
I will not consider an option of create another field to store part of the value, since after FCC, a blank line is created which is not acceptable by our integration partner.
Is there any way to get it ?

If you can see from what Madhusudana Reddy suggested:
I created a node, saying "Tail" in end of structure, add one child node to it saying "Filename"
Now in my mapping program, I can pass real file name I wanted to child node "Filename"
In Variable substitution, I get the whole value of the node "Filename" when we naming the created file.
In FCC, I used Madhusudana suggested, it would not created blank line when using Tail.endSeparator '0'
Hope this give you some hints

"Save as" - name file from a field

When user clicks the "save as" button, can I force the file name to be an entry from one of the form's fields?
For example, on this form, one field is the job's Purchase Order Number. I want all files to be saved as the purchase order number. So if PO# = 123-2, the file name should be 123-2.pdf.

The button is relatively easy, it the script needed to perform the save as action, as this is a restricted action and will require placing the script to perform the save as action in an Acrobat/Reader application folder.

Change UI configuration dynamically when ever user selects a new value in a drop down field in WebUI

I enhanced the standard activity component (i.e BT126S_APPT ). In this component, in BT126S_APPT/ApptSQ view there is a field 'PROCESS_TYPE' which is a dropdown. I have created a server event for this dropdown. So that whenever user selects a value in that dropdown, a event is called and after that DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION is called. In DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION, I am checking the value of 'PROCESS_TYPE' and based on that i am setting different config keys, by calling SET_CONFIG_KEYS( ). But the configuration is not changing in WebUI. When I press F2 in WebUI its showing the config keys( searched for ) as I set, but the found config keys are same as before. I have created the configuration with the new configuration keys. Please help, I am new to crm.

The easier option would be to convert the DropDownByKey to DropDownByIndex. If you still want to proceed with DropDownByKey then you need to initialise the ALV data again. do the following
1. after changing the attribute-value_set, call the ALV interface controller method SET_DATA and pass the instance of the context node.
2. reintiliase all the ALV settings like edit mode, converting the column editor to DropDownByKey etc....
This will ensure the new attribute value set is reflected in the ALV component.

Font Book problems installing fonts - serious issues

I'm having problems installing fonts that I've been using for years. The Mac Mini Font Book says that there is serious problems with a lot of my fonts.
I don't want to install fonts if it is going to cause problems with the computer but don't understand why they won't work on mini but were fine on the emac.

File name into text field

Is there a way to display the forms file name, into a text field?
Example: The form's file name is "MyForm.1.01.pdf"
I would like to display "MyForm.1.01" in a text field on the form.
If my form is saved and goes up a revision to say "MyForm.1.02"
"MyForm.1.02" is then displayed in the text field.
I was thinking, this could be on the pre open event, so that when the form is saved, it would display the new revision when the form is next opened?

I would put this in the docReady event, as this event fires only once, when the form opens.

The client is a new Snow Leopard MacBook Pro it is setup and working just fine with a OS X 10.5 server. All services (mostly iCal Server) seem to be working just fine. The only issues is when adding invitees in iCal event, a number four appears at the beginning of the name as part of the email address of the invitee. The work around has been to just show the Address panel and drag and drop names into the invitees field and the 4 does not appear but if you just start to type the name the 4 appears. It seems to be part of the look-up that is being done by iCal in the local address book and in the address book on the server.
The user can see all of the calendars on the server they have permission to and can and and remove events without issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't allow to select duplicate entries from drop-down fields, JS pls.?

I have 3 drop down fields in my_sub_form, say, my_country_1, my_country_2 and my_country_3. All drop down field's list boxes are populated with 10 country names, say, US, Canada, Spain, Germany, France...
Say, user selected US in my_country_1 drop down field, again user is TRYING to select same entry as US in my_country_2 field======> Here at this point, as soon as user selected as US in my_country_2's droppped down list box=====> immediatley, I need to throw warning message to the user and make the my_country_2 as "" BLANK.
Basically, my form should not allow the user to select the DUPLICATE entries in these 3 drop-down fields, all the 3 should be DISTINCT.
If i write JS in EXIT event of my_sub_form, its working fine, but not user friendly, it kind of late.
Hence we want to have INSTANT alert to user AS SOON AS user selects a duplicate entry in any drop down field
I tried to put some JS in CHANGE event of my_country_1 and my_country_2, but not working
Pls. provide me some JS and the event name, object name

you could put in the exit event of the my_country_1 list:

and then put the same in the other dropdowns but change the names.

Copy metadata from one field to another

I have two questions relating to batch copying metadata in Aperture (3.5.1).
1) Can you copy the contents of the Aperture metadata field “Version Name” to the IPTC metadata field “Headline” for multiple images at once?
2) Can you copy “Faces” (names of all people identified in multiple photos) to “Keywords” data field at once? (I have been able to copy one person at a time to multiple images, but not all people at once).

Thanks! Very helpful. I think I get it, but perhaps you can confirm my understanding of 1) the IPTC metadata field.
I would like to duplicate the unique version name and write the version names into the Headline field. This does not seem possible using "Batch Change" (unless I am missing something). Batch change is good for making unique names that have a sequential property (e.g. "name 01, name 02, etc.). I would like to copy version names that are not sequential in nature (e.g. "name XYA , name BBR, etc.").
From your reply, It seems this will be impossible (?).

I'm using a file adapter for process a flat file and convert it into an XML. Does anybody knows how to include the file name into an XML field.
Ex.
I process the file named XXIMN21022007.txt and I need an XML like:

Just go for dynamic configuration.
Check the sender file adapter to write the filename in the header (as explained in Michal's blog) and then read that header in some mapping.
U can use that even in simple message mappings.

I have tried downloading several fonts, including those from professional societies, but the only way to get Hebrew in my document is to cut and paste. Does anyone know how to fix this? I use an older MacBook running OS 10.9.1. I used to do my Hebrew work in Word, but it is no longer supported by Mac OS.

Just clarifying:
Pages '09 has bad support for Hebrew, Arabic etc but will accept pasted text.
Pages 5 has much better support but with bugs.
If you have columns they are in the wrong order ie Text starts in the left column and ends in the right column.
If you type English into Hebrew text it tends to fall in the wrong position eg instead of to the left of Hebrew punctuation it goes to the right.
As Tom recommends the only real solution on the Mac is Mellel.

btw Tell Apple, they are amazingly slow to fix this running sore which has been broken since RtoL was supposedly introduced in OSX 10.2.3 over a decade ago.
