Font size bug in iOS 7.0.4 mail app?

Hi,
I experience a strange behaviour with iOS 7 mail app. When I try to read a plaintext mail with the iPhone in portrait orientation the font size is oddly big. I can "zoom" in with a two finger pinch but I cannot zoom out to decrease the font size.
Is this a bug, a setting I activated somewhere, a silly feature?
Thanks for advice,

Yes, the time and date is correct. It just started happening a few days ago and has bene like this since. I cant even open the mail, because theirs no content in them. Nor can i delete it.

but under Accessability you can select Bold type. it helps a little to make it more readable, but it's surprising that Apple's built-in apps, like Weather, do not use Dynamic font size font and icons are way too faint and small now.
Apple sticks to all or nothing too often and then markets the heck out if it to brainwash people into thinking it's better.
Ive's sense of stripped down asthetics gets in the way of actual usability too often. hope someone steps in before the iphone is reduced to 1 softbutton that just does whatever apple wants it to do regardless of what the customer needs to accomplish...

  • Is there a way to change the font size and color of text in the calendar app?

Does anyone know a way of changing the font size and color of text in the calendar app that comes with the iPad 2?  It is very hard to see the small gray numbers on the calendar.  Thanks

Looks like you didn't get a reply on your post, but it is still a problem.  Font size is supposedly changeable via "Accessibility" in Settings, but it doesn't work.  You can turn on "Zoom".

Try Settings>General>Accessibility>Large Text>select the font size you want. I may also be that you have inadvertently turned on Zoom, try double tapping the screen with three fingers to decrease zoom then go into Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom>OFF. I would also consider turning off Triple Click Home in Settings>General>Accessibility>Triple-click Home>OFF as this may have enabled zoom inadvertently.

  • Photoshop CC: Font size bug

I have been working on a project today and suddenly I cannot change the font size anymore.
If I select the text layer with the move tool and double click the layer in order to edit the text I cannot change the size of the font by pressing the up and down arrow keys. The only way to get this to work, is to select the text layer using the text tool, select all the text and then use the arrow keys.
It has worked earlier today, so something must have caused this bug to happen. Can it be some fonts that I have installed?
I have tried to restart my computer, I have reset all warning dialogs, I have reset the fonts in the font book to the default ones, I have reset the tools in Photoshop CC.
    Nothing works!
    Any ideas?

It's a bug that appears after scaling text. Adobe knows about it. The work-around for now is to not Edit>Transform any text.
    Very annoying indeed.

  • IPhone 5 (16GB) iOS 7.0.4 Mail App size is 1GB and continuously increasing. How to reduce the size of the Mail App?

    Hi,
    I am using an iPhone 5 (16GB) iOS 7.0.4.
Currently the size of the mail app is 1GB and is continously increasing, even though the advanced settings in the mail account have been set as following:
    MOVE DISCARDED MESSAGES INTO:
    Deleted Mailbox
    DELETED MESSAGES:
    Remove: After one day
    INCOMING SETTINGS:
Delete from Server: When removed from Inbox
The problem that I am facing is that only a few emails reside on my iPhone as I keep deleting emails, which are also deleted from the server automatically because of the settings as above, which is perfectly fine. The emails are deleted from the Mail app and only a very few of them are visible which I have not deleted as yet, and all is fine till here. The problem is that the size of the Mail app is more than 1GB and is continously increasing, when i check the size of the Mail app in the Settings > General > Usage section.
When I search for an email that has previously been deleted from the search feature by swiping down in the main page, it still comes up in the search, and upon clicking the searched email, it takes me into the Mail app, however, the mail is not there. I have tried searching for emails which were deleted weeks ago, and they still come up in the search feature, however, they DO NOT open in the Mail app when i click them within the search feature in the main page.
Up until a couple of months ago, the size of the Mail app was about 5.2GB and at this point I had no space on my 16GB iPhone 5, therefore I resetted my phone two months ago, and after a complete reset of the iPhone 5, the size of the Mail app went back to 0.3KB (like it was brand new out-of the box); however, within a matter of two months the size of the Mail app has now exceeded 1GB and is continously increasing, as I receive alot of emails which is why I delete them on daily basis and even delete them from the Trash folder (mailbox).
I have read alot of blogs and even checked with other friends using similar settings on the same model, however, I just cant seem to figure this out. I would really appreciate if someone can help me with this issue as I dont want to have to reset it again after another 2-3 months.
There are practically only 14-15 emails on my Mail app with not alot of KBs for these emails, and the trash folder is also empty, but the size of the Mail app is still not reducing. Please help!!

    Shoaib Malik

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question.

  • My 12-point font size looks like 6 point in Mac Mail?

How do I fix this? I do not want to be constantly switching to a different font, then switching back before I hit send

You can set default font sizes for writing and viewing messages.
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select Fonts & Colors.

  • How do I increase font size on the Home Page and E-Mail messages screens?

I just downloaded Firefox and made it my default browser as I am having so many problems with IE 9. I am old and gray-headed and not techy. I would like to view my home page (Yahoo.com) and my E-mail correspondence in at least a size 12 Font. I went through all the option lists I could find with font size and think I saved, but nothing has happened to help me increase the font. I replied to an e-mail and set the font size at 12 but it is still as tiny as this message.
I have tired, dry eyes. Can you help me, please?

It isn't an issue. It's been that way since they came out with the first notebook computer. If this was so critical to your decision then why did you not check it out at an Apple Store first? When you buy sight unseen, then any problems you encounter not due to factory defects are your problems.
You can try zooming the higher resolution scheme or look at what's available to you in Accessibility preferences.

  • After iOS 8 update, the mail app crashes on iPhone 4S

I've updated to iOS 8 this afternoon and now the mail app crashes.  It will open the first time after a power off and restart of my 4S but after that first time it will crash every single time I try to open it. I can only reopen it after I've done a full reboot of the phone, and then only once. Is there a quick fix or do I get to wait for an update?

I tried all of the suggested solutions mentioned in this thread, and finally did a full reset according to Apple's instructions, step by step (as an engineer and 40 year computer user I am good at that stuff).
Sorry to say after the several hour process, not one of the problems I have experienced have been solved.
IPad 2 is still running slow and choppy.
Some Apps do not even load.
Website pages will not load and result in error messages. One particularly annoying Safari error on loading a new web page is:  "a problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded".
MY iPad  2 worked perfectly for the last couple of years through several updates that performed seamlessly, but this one and the two most recent corrected updates have rendered my iPad so degraded that I don't think I will be using it much anymore. I originally bought the tablet because of it's smooth GUI and fast performance, the reliability and error free environment, and Apple's proven record for effective updates. That's all gone now.

  • IMAP question - message showing up in iOS but not in Mail.app - why?

I set up an account in Mail.app Version 5.2 (1257). It's an IMAP account linked to a Gmail account.
Just now I saw a (1) indicator that a new mail had arrived. But when I clicked on the account's Inbox there were no messages there.
I also checked on my iPhone, which also uses IMAP for the same Gmail account, and I can see the message and read it.
I went back to Mail.app but it's still not there. So I manually selected Mailbox > Get New Mail > account name. After doing this the (1) indicator went away and there is still no mail in the Inbox.
But the message is still there when looking via both my iPhone and iPad.
I also tried closing and opening a new View Window, but it didn't help.
Finally I quit Mail and restarted it and could see the message.
But what gives? Why couldn't I see the message in Mail.app on my iMac without restarting Mail?
    Thanks,
    doug

I'm not sure there is a setting for that. I don't see one anywhere.
But remember - the reason I knew there was a waiting message to begin with was because the dock indicator displayed a number and next to the account's Inbox was a (1) in parentheses. So it must have checked for mail. The message just wasn't there until I quit Mail and started again.
Anyway, thanks. I'll just see if this happens again. Maybe it was a one time rare bug.
    Thanks,
    doug

  • IOS 6 iPhone 4 Mail App Crashes

    Hi,
I upgraded my IPhone 4 to iOS 6 a day or so after the iOS 6 release. The mail app worked fine until this morning. Now when I try to launch it shows a white screen for a few seconds and then crashes.  Tried all variations of hard reboot, switching phone on/off, closing all applications etc. with no joy.
My wife's iPhone 4 and my iPad 3 ( which use the same E-Mail accounts as are on my iPhone) have not as yet developed similar problems.
I have been updating apps as they become available and as far as I recall have not installed any apps recently which one would expect to impact my E-Mail.
Anyone else with similar problems or preferably suggestions as to how to fix?  This is a real pain as when I am travelling I use my iPhone all the time to keep up with my E-mail.

    Hi
I was able to solve this:
    - Connect your iphone to your mac
    - Go to iTunes
    - Goto Info
    - Select Sync Mail Accoints
    - Select Advanced -> Replace information on this iPhone -> Mail Accounts
    - Press Sync.

  • Change Help font size

    Hello,
I don't know if this is really a Universal Access topic. I have what I think is average eyesight for someone just past 40 anyway.
But trying to read the built-in online help for any application convinces me I need glasses!!
Dictionary.app has a font size widget in its toolbar, why not Help? Mac OS X wants so badly to use miniscule 3 point type for things that it is almost torture.
I would like to increase the default font size in a safe way (Snow Leopard, 10.6.2).
If possible, it would be nice to have a font face / size changer widget that would work on any window of any application, with a checkbox to make it the default for that window pane.
Thanks for your comments. I'm thinking of registering it with Apple's Bug Reporter as a UI bug since it is.
    Matt

FYI I have registered it as a bug at bugreport.apple.com
    Problem ID: 7579066
    26-Jan-2010 09:19 AM Matt Rosin:
    Summary:
Font size increase/decrease widget missing from the Help application used by all applications.
Dictionary.app has it, Help needs it.
Also the two fingered font zoom gesture needs to be enabled for the Help pane.
The default font size is too small for people over 40 and is an Accessibility issue as well as a UI mistake.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    Open Safari
    Under Help, select Safari Help.
    Expected Results:
Font in a readable font size. At least it should enable two fingered frame zoom gesture to zoom font size. Should also include the a/A font size changer widget that is used in Dictionary.app.
    Actual Results:
Text is way too small to read.
    Regression:
Would not be a problem if Safari's ordinary html rendering was used, and probably would be more flexible / higher quality. You could put movies in Help, open a two-way iChat with the developer, fill out a form, etc.
