Font size in Palm Desktop

I use a 15" 1400x1050 screen. Using Palm Desktop the font size of the applications is so small, that I have a hard time reading it.
Any suggestions?
(Please, don't tell me that I can increase the system font size in Windows, that is not the issue here).
Thanks.

Using "regedit" I was able to change the font size larger for use with the Palm Desktop software.
Run "regedit" and export (save) a backup copy for safety
    File  >  Export
  Search for "FontSmall"
Edit  >  Find  >  Find what  >  FontSmall
Click on FontSizeGeneral and change the "Value data" to 16
  Exit "regedit"
Run Palm Desktop software and enjoy the new legible font size!

  • Type size for Palm Desktop

Why is the newest version of Palm's Desktop software for Windows XP & Vista have such small type size?  It's at least 2 pts. smaller than my older version and very hard to read.  Is there a setting somewhere that I can't find which allows users to customize the type size in the Desktop?

  • Font Size from Desktop 4.1 to 4.1.4 is Too Small--can it be changed.

I notice that when I upgraded from Desktop 4.1 to Desktop 4.1.4 that the font size for memos, calendar, contacts, .etc is considerably smaller than it was in DT 4.1.
I've seen some posts here that seem to suggest that there is NO way to change the font size of Palm Desktop for the Palm III class of PDA's.
I suppose Palm thought they were doing us a favor by decreasing the font size and allowing more viewable text on screen BUT actually it's just another source of eye strain.
Anyone found a work around for this before I roll back to Desktop 4.1?--'cause I'm sure not about to change my system default font size or resolution to accommodate this new "feature".

Well, it depends. If only your xfce4 related fonts are to  small, then skeeter's
posting will do the trick. If all your fonts are a bit to small, then you better
edit the xintrc file in /opt/xfce4/etc. The Xft.dpi settings are related to the
X-servers resolution. Increase the number to enlarge the fonts.

  • How Do I Change the Mailbox Font Size in the Sidebar?

In an earlier preview build of Lion, I was able to change the size of the Mailbox font used in the left sidebar to view more content in the column, but I don't remember what I did to change it.  The Mail/Preferences/Fonts & Colors pane no longer has a Mailbox font option.
Does anyone know how to change the Mail sidebar font size in Lion?

I'm not sure what you're responding to.  Bob H. above pointed out a clear bug in changing the Mail list font when he went to Mail/Preferences/Fonts & Colors and changed the font setting for the Mail list (second column), and it didn't work.
My issue was the font size in the first column (sidebar), which is not controlled in the Mail app, but by going to System Preferences/General and checking the box for changing the sidebar font size.  This checkbox also controls the font size for Finder (Desktop) windows sidebars (left column), where hard drives, other volumes, user Documents folders, and the like are listed.  This does work perfectly for me.
I have no other suggestions for you, except for perhaps trying removing the com.apple.finder.plist file located in the ~/Library/Preferences folder, which you can access by holding down the option key while selecting the Go menu at the top of the screen.  This controls the Finder window settings you have previously selected, and may be corrupted.  Simply move it to the Desktop for temporary safekeeping, then if it simply copied it, vice moving it out of the folder, right click on the file in the folder to move it to the Trash (you may have to authenticate).  This will force the Finder to recreate a default version of the file, which you can then remodify to your liking.  If that works, Trash the copy you moved to the Desktop.  If not, put it back in the folder to restore your prior settings.
    Good luck.

  • How to increase Font Size in whole system ?

    Hi,
Iam definitely lost. Iam using my Mac mini as home tv media center and the resolution on TV is 1920 (FULL HD). The problem is that all the letters are so tiny.
Please can you help with set up the system. And of course excuse my english.
    Thank you
    A.P.

    That's a problem
You can increase the font size on the Desktop, you can increase the dock size, you can increase the font size in browser, but you CAN'T increase the size of the menu bar and menu items.
Can also zoom in (System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Seeing -> Zoom -> On
But that makes a) the display very pixelated and b) you have to scroll around through the content.
Would be nice if Apple would make the GUI of Lion resolution independent scaleable

I am using the M515 with Windows 7 and have the HotSynch working fine.
    A) W7 Drivers
    - Download & Install "ACEECA Handheld Device Drivers" from "Access, Inc." OR "ACEECA International Limited"

    - Ignore the W7 error messages during Install.
    - Device Manager will report "This device cannot start. (Code 10)", but it will work perfectly.
    - The "device" will most likely appear as something like: "PCI bus 4, device 0, function 0"

    C) HotSynch Configuration
    - suggest you disable most of the sysnch options.
    - for 1st synch op., enable by default "Synchronize both ways". The Palm Desktop should prompt for username. Make sure you use the existing "user", ex "Paul" at the "input new user" prompt on Palm Desktop during the 1st time HotSynch. If you get it wrong, do not panic, you will create a new user and Synch all the same. Just repeat the operation with the correct name, verify the data is synched under both users, then delete the "duplicate".
    - After 1s Synch, set defaults for future Synch ops., ie. Synch Both Ways, or Handheld overwrites Desktop...et cetera. Think about how you use the Handhelp and where you generally input most fresh appointments and memos. Personally I "synchronize" both ways in order to no miss anything.
NB: The M515 are being given away in 2nd hand shops. They are cheap & easy to find & work great. I have a collection. When one breaks I Synch to the next and never lose data. Unlike various "Smartphones" which have a tendency to break after just one bump or "fall", get stolen or just die!
Long live PALM! Thank you for reliable products

    Thanks for this contribution, wobbly2010!
The m515 was a great device in its time!  I used to tether it to my cell phone via cable, and then place it into the Palm IR keyboard turning it into a portable "tiny terminal" as I used to refer to it.  Mobile internet!  What a concept...

It was a fresh boot as I shut it down daily. I'm not on my Win laptop but am on iPad. Tomorrow I'll do a screenshot and post it.
I did a Windows update Thursday and today was the first use since then. Every setting is different from desktop photo, font sizes, wipeout of Firefox, to all icons but ten gone. About twenty disappeared. Still have a ton of programs to run and check.
I've never had this happen and I began with a Windows 3.01 back in the eighties or early nineties. If Windows was corrupted, why would Firefox change settings? I didn't upgrade it ; still on. 28.0

  • MacBook Desktop font size

I just purchased a new MacBook and as with all my previous Macs it is a wonderful piece of work.
However, I have an issue and hope I can find some encouraging and remedial advice here. I have gotten older as years have passed and find the size of text and even the tool bar display could be a little larger. I have an old iBook and the text on the desktop is almost twice as large.
Is there a method for increasing text size on the desktop overall without utilizing zoom function.
    Thank you,
    Wallyhead

There is not one general setting to change this.
What you can do in finder: From the menu "View -> Show View Options". Increase Text size and apply to all windows.
Applications most have in preferences options to change the font size.
Have a look at the following document: http://staff.ucreative.ac.uk/Document%20Store/Computing/IT%20Helpdesk/GUIDE-Acce ssibility-Mac.doc
However, these options are not for the desktop itself.
As a last resort you could decrease the resolution from your macbook from the standard 1200x800 to a lower one.

  • Diferent Window Managers/Desktop Managers diferente font sizes.

For some time now I've used openbox.... and i like it very alot.
But along came AIGLX and Beryl  :D:D:D
    I had to try it!!!!
So I installed gnome and am currently using it (with and without Beryl)
But I noticed something strange:the font sizes where completely different from OpenBox.
The fonts I used for the applications in  Openbox "grew" when I started them in Gnome.
If I set the fonts I like in gnome, then they "shrink" when run in OpenBox......
This is a small problem (not really important) but it's been bugging me for some days now...... and I just want to know why this happens and (if possible) how to fix it.

    # ~/.bashrc

  • How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window?

    Hi champs,
Just a simple non-technical question: How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window on Windows 7 desktop?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Did you mean change the Lync: Change the Default Font and Color of Instant Messages just as Edwin said above?
If not, as I know, there is no natural way to change it.
If yes, on the latest version of Lync 2013 client, there is a new option “IM” on Lync client “Options” list. And you need to change the default Font and Color of IM in the interface of “IM”.
