Font Size limited user

How can a limited user change eg.g. font size (System Initialisation / General Settings) ? Only Professional Users are allowed to use this menu item.....
Thanks in advance
Andreas

Hi Gordon,
for me it is a bug or at least a design error. There is the possibility to change font-size or brackground picture - but most users can't reach this functionality.....
Have heard in 8.81 there are changes. Thanks for your answer...

  • Font size and user form

    Hello,
I'd like to know if somebody find a solution for the font size issue on user form.
since BO 2005, the user can change the font size. the application will format all the controls of form with the good size.
However, the layout does not follow very well for user form.
If the font size is changed while a user form is open, the aplication will reformat it perfectly, the controls are bigger, and the distance between the controls are ok
But when the user form is open again, it keeps the distance and control size of the XML file but change the font size, so the layout is very bad, sometime the static text or the caption could not be read, so it's not possible to use the form as is.
I use XML to create form, I haven't try by code, but in my case, I can't use code because there are a lot of controls in the form.
Any idea if it's possible to call the Business One procedure to resize the form and its control (not only the font) ?
    Thanks you

Try resetting the FontSize of all items (and columns) to the one you used for the design after loading the form.
I use a simple loop over all items and an inner loop for matrixes and grids to set the font size in their columns.
Now users can have a larger font, but the added forms will use the original design's font size.
    This approach has some drawbacks:
    - Added forms use a different font size
    - Some of the controls will still get their size based on the system default font size
(checkboxes, drill-down arrays, headercolumns, perhaps more?).
    - Focused item is not resized by this (so far I have been able to work around this).
    - Changing the font size while the form is open, will break the design as the
font size does not change, but the control sizes do.
This is not an ideal solution, but it might give some help, until a better one presents itself.
If the users don't use a dramatically different font size, my form design work quite ok,
even with the drawbacks or at least it is better than nothing. It is a good idea to test
the form with different font sizes to make it more flexible.

  • Font size on user administration ... identity management

Does anyone know where in the Portal Display Theme I need to change the font size for the User Administration/Identity Mangement screen?
    thanks
    Angie.

    Hi,
The Font size changes are applicable across the portal, there is no option to change the font size for one screen in particular.
You can make changes to font size in the Top-Level Navigation which will be effective for all the roles.
And changes to Font Size in Global Content Area.
    Hope this helps.

  • Font size limited

    hi,
I am doing one smartform. In one text field when i want the font size to be 5. But irrespective of what size you are giving the output is coming in size 8 only. I have tried only paragraph format, only chracter format as well as combination of both. But whatever font size is used the output is always coming in size 8 font.
    Please help.

Fonts and Font sizes are dependent to what is installed to the "device type".  You can check if the font/font size is available through SE73 (click Printer Fonts button).
To know which "device type" you are using, you have to know your "output device" (ex. LP01).  This is found in SPAD.  View the "output device" and you will see the "device type" assigned to it.
When you're in the Font list of a device type (in SE73), you better choose scaleable fonts to have small font sizes.  Also take note of Bold and Italics if available.  If you forced your form to choose a font/font size that is not available, it will do a font substitution that's why you will see a different size/font face.
If the font you need is not available, ask the Basis team to add it (if you don't have permission).  If it's not really available, choose which is closest to your requirement.
So, when the requirement form is very specific in the layout, it's better to know the exact printer it will be printed.

  • Font size in user interface is too small

I am working on a trial version of RoboHelp 10 and I can't read the interface.  I really need this software, but will not be able to use it if I can't use the interface.  All of my appearance settings in Windows are maximized for size. Any ideas?

    Hi there
Well, if you are working on Windows 7, there's always the Screen magnifier app.
On a more serious note, you should really consider reporting this to Adobe so they will have it on their radar. Use the link below for that:

  • How to increase the font size of YOUR SMS on your ...

    Hi guys !!
I've found something really interesting with my nokia E71
yes,you can increase the font of your SMS by choosing
    tools..settings...general...personalization...disply..font size
then YOU HAVE TO CHOSE NORMAL and you will find that the size of your SMS has been increased!!
note:if you have chosen before Large , you would find that the font of,for example, the menu of your SMS decreased a little .
N.B. I think the font size of the SMS is not responding to the large size selection, while the menu do response ,I am sure this is a bug that has to be addressed by Nokia with software update soon !!
    With my love
This was my reply to some other topic, but I found it so important and worth to be in its own topic

You are right with that setting. But, this kind of setting is rather *naive* for a *smart* phone. There are two main factors when a user select a font size; the user's sight and the form in which the font is applied. E.g. Many users would like to have smaller font for table such weekly view of calendar, but bigger font for non-tabled form such Note/Memo. I myself really hate that global setting of font. I like *each* application has its own setting, though they should share the same font database / font table. Nokia programmers are surely able doing that, but they just don't really care.

  • My default font size is set at 18px. Is this the default default font size for all users of ff 3.6+?

I was developing a site in ff when I noticed other browsers were rendering the font size smaller than in firefox. Upon investigation I discovered that my ff 3.6 default font was Adobe Caslon Pro Bold 18px.
I have never deliberately set this. My understanding was that all browsers default default font size was 16px.
Has ff default font size changed from 16px to 18px?

    You're welcome.

  • When creating a fillable form fields from an existing pdf file, how do you set or allow end user to set the font size in the fields?

I successfully created a form filled pdf using an existing pdf document.  However, the font size is too large to allow end user to type in information in the form box.  Is there a way to 1)globally set all  of the form fields when generated to a much smaller font size &/or 2) allow end user to change the font size if needed to put all information in one box without font being so large?

    Hi DenisonDoc,
There is no option right now to set properties globally primarily for Text fields. You may make sure fields doesn't contain anything.
Select all the text filed from the form and right click any of the selected field make sure all of them are selected choose properties --> Appearance there you can choose Font Size and Font type.
    - End users cant change size and type of font. It is up to designer.

  • Increasing Email Size Limits for some users

    Hi All,
For some users (management) i needed to arrange that they are able to send bigger files then the default 10MB limit to each other.
I used this procedure to do so,
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/increasing-email-size-limits-for-your-high-profile-users-in-exchange-2010/
    In a nutshell:
Set Global Transport Org. Config to 200MB
Set Transport Send and Receive connector to 200MB
Created a Distribution group adding the MT members and me (for testing)
Created a transport Rule for the 10MB limit for all users and exception for the distribution group
(Believe me, i am not happy with the 200MB size limit)
All seems to work but i have one issue that i cannot tackel or maybe it is by design.
-Managemant can also send big files to all
users who do not have this privelige, this is not someting i want, sending 100MB+ attachments to over 150 users.
Is this by design or do i mis something?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hi RonGielgens,
Attachment size in exchange has to be set on
    Global settings
    Connectors (send and receive connectors)
    Mailbox
The global settings will affect all the others. of course connectors will affect specific servers and mailbox one user. You have to set the global to the absolute max size you want to allow in your organization.
after you do this you will need either to set the 10MB on each mailbox
    Get-Mailbox | Set-Mailbox -MaxSendSize 10MB -MaxReceiveSize 10MB
Then change the limit on specific mailbox
or another way is to create a transport rule that will reject the email if the attachment size it > 10MB unless the sender/recipient is the required user or group.
so basically create 2 transport rules
    1. reject messages sent to anyone with attachment > 10mb unless the recipient is userX
    2. reject messages sent from anyone with attachment > 10mb unless the sender is userX
Normal case it should not allow.
    Thanks, MAS

  • Images should grow or shrink when the user chooses a larger or smaller font size in ADE.

    Hi All,
I use percentage values (in "width" attribute within "img" element) for image that should grow or shrink when the user
chooses a larger or smaller font size. The adjustment affects not only the size of the text but also images but the images
are getting distorted or blurred when user chooses larger font size in Adobe Digital Editions.
Can anyone, please guide me; how to get non-distorted and non-blur images in epub package?
If I directly use images, without svg format i.e. png or jpg files, then images get overlapped on body-text in two column display in ADE.
    OR
if I directly use jpg or png with width attribute varying in percentage value then image shrinks and grows as user chooses smaller and larger font size but the problem of distorted image remains as it is
    <div class="media-group"><img src="images/pa0000016g26001.png or jpg" alt="Image" width="60 or 70%" /></div>

  • How to reduce the font size - "Portal Smart Text - CURRENT USER"

    Hi Gurus,
I am showing the user name on the top left corner of our portal page. The default font size is little big(16 point size). How can I reduce the size to probably 10. I am using the "Built-In Navigation Item Types - Portal Smart Text - CURRENT USER" which shows the name of the current user. Please post a reply if you have any idea about this.
    Thanks
    Raj
    --------

Put the item in its own region, assign a different style to the region, and set the font size for the Display Name attribute in the region's style.
Or, you can use a PL/SQL item with this code:
    begin
    htp.p('<font size="-3">
    || portal.wwctx_api.get_user
    || '</font>');
    end;

  • PFD's -- can 'font size' and 'page formatting' be user-controlled?

Can the *font size* and *page formatting* -- including *page size* -- of a PDF document be altered for printouts?
Also, does this vary from one PDF reader to another, or is it pretty much standard?
    Thanks.

    Texas Mac Man wrote:
Can you explain why you want to do this? There may be a solution.
One reason is that many PDF's print in a larger font than I would like. I was imagining having control of the page layout and appearance the way you do in most situations, and wondering whether PDF's could be similarly controlled by the user -- at least in those respects (I know they are not designed to be 'edited').

  • Variables - User Created - Font Size

    Greetings,
Using Framemaker 7 and find that I have a copyrighted term to include. I created a variable and was able to use the 'Superior' tag (?) to make the copyright symbol that's superscript, unfortunately it makes the rest of the variable superscript.
I like the variables because I can change it once and the entire book is updated.
The term in question is often part of the document title, and so would need to be 18 points on that one occasion. I notice that using the superior tag gives MUCH smaller than the 36 used for the document title page. So the copyright symbol ends up near the bottom of the previous, 36 point, type. Unfortuantely, if I use the [tag] Default ¶ Font [tag] variable, it returns to the document's default font.
In any case, it raises a question: Is it possible to 'unapply' a character format inside a user-created variable, or perhaps to set a font size within the variable? Maybe back to the 'original' (not default) font size so that no matter what the document has on the cover, it would start and end using that font?
I'd rather not have multiple variables for the same information, if possible.
I've seen a couple of posts here that talk about creating a set of 'master variables' in a template or something. I also found the information here:
    http://www.freeframers.org/archive/98/msg00499.html
It's got some interesting variable ideas, but when I tried to create anything like that I ended up seeing, as the output, the actual 'angle bracket' tags and everything as though it were all text. There is clearly 'variable' information that I'm just not finding in the Help info.
Any info would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Solon

    Hi Solon,
You've got some things right, but I'll walk you through your example for the variable to define: "Term®"
First, you need to create the <Superior> character tag, and ensure that only the Superscript property is enabled.
One quick way to do this is to click anywhere outside the text frame (to ensure that no text is currently selected). Then open the Character Designer (ctrl + d) and set all of the properties to AsIs (use the shift + F8 shortcut).
Now set ONLY the superscript property for the tag, enter the name of the tag "Superior" and click Apply or the Commands > New Format to add it to your Character catalog.
Now that you have the character tag defined, you can create your variable.
Open the Special > Variable... window and click on the Create Variable button.
In the Edit User Variable window enter a name for what you want to call this variable, e.g. myProduct.
Now enter the defintion using the building blocks as required, i.e. enter the "Term" then click on the <Superior> in the Character formats building block list on the right. Then enter the ® and stop the superscript formatting by either clicking on the <Default ¶ Format> building block OR entering </> building block. You can continue entering content in the variable at this point and the superscript formatting will not affect anything following the </> entry.
Click on the Add and then the Done buttons to add your definition to the Variable catalog.
Now click on the Insert button to actually insert the variable into your document.
If you need to use the variable again, you use the shortcut key sequences to quickly insert: ctrl + 0 (zero) to activate the Variable selection in the Status bar (lower left corner of the document window will show a Blue section) and then start typing your vairable name, e.g. myProduct. FM will match the characters to the variables in the catalog as you type, so you may already have a match by the second characer. The variable name is displayed in the blue area at the lower-left. As soon as you see the match, hit the ENTER key to insert the variable.
I hope this helps takle some of the mystery out of defining and using variables.

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 User Interface Font Size

After years of using happily using an early version of Premiere to edit DV I have finally upgraded my video hardware & software to handle HD.
I am using Adobe Premier Pro CS5.5.1.
I have a 24" WS full hd monitor as my primary monitor.
Can it really be true that there is no way to increase the font size in the user interface aside from changing my screen resolution?
The default font is too small for my old eyes to view comfortably. I'm fairly certain that the old version of Premiere I had allowed
the font & other parts of the use interface (like the frames in the timeline) to be scaled.
Have I somehow missed something in the settings, or did adobe really leave something this basic out of the user interface of an $800
software package? Do I really have to change screen resolution or buy a bigger monitor to increase the GUI font size?

I am so, so, sad at how America and the world has got so lost, it harasses the disabled (I am vision impaired) and the TBI (I am recovered some 30 year later) by keeping the interface letters so small I have no hope of figuring what does what, even though I have repeatedly spend (about) 800 dollars for Adobe (latest) CS5 Adobe Premiere.
Just as Microsoft, abusing the user is casual, needs no explanation, only aversion, and the disabled and the ones actually buying the product can just take a leap- no right click, no text size changes (to the interface) in MS outlook, the directory tree inaccessible.
I am trying to warn the USA citizen of problems I fight since 1981, and the very ignorance and letting things break down....keeps me from learning how to currently get my voice, video, camera (XF305) uploaded.  I have been told to throw away my 800 dollar (or so) Adobe Premiere, get a webcam, forget the 8000 dollar camera, and use You Tube to get a message uploaded direct, fast, without harassment.  Please tell me I do not have to start paying 50 BUCKS A MONTH to STILL not get to creating a video clip merged with another using Adobe Premiere, this breaks my heart to see the decay in the V.A. now widespread into everything, remember this was "not suitable for any purpose" warning Adobe carries from decades ago?  It is evidently more unsuitable then ever, UNLESS STOLEN then I hear it works perfectly and is a work of art.
Rome fell NOT because the veterans were ignored, WHILE things broke down, a SIGN was the vets getting ignored, they being in the bigger government.  Here, modern vets ignored for decades, until too old to fight, and the entire USA seems to teeter, even blocking voices to mention this very same catastrophic issue- levels and more levels of obfuscation and solicitation to spend more money for ever less certain ownership.  Every cubic foot of a city lot taxed, legislated, as things break down

  • User control over font size?

I wonder if there is a way the user can control the font size
in the .chm file from the viewer. I know you can go to your
internet browser and change the font size there, but this is a bit
convoluted. Is there a control available in the chm viewer that I
    am missing?

    Hi Margaret
Indeed you may add a Font button to the .CHM viewer.
Unfortunately, RoboHelp doesn't expose a method to do it easily.
You would have to do it by compiling using Microsoft HTML Help
    Workshop.
Here is a link to a page explaining it.
    Click
here and read all about it
I'm not sure if CSS font sizes will override this or not.
Additionally, you may wish to try pressing and holding the Alt key
while rolling the mouse wheel (if you have one) as this sometimes
    changes the font.
