Font size of comments in word 2010

I just opened the doc i have been editing and for some reason all the comment boxes have reduced font size (like 0.5). I cant really read any of them anymore and i have hundreds of them. Maybe it is because i was editting it in a mac version of MS Word yesterday.
Either way:
I cant seem to find a way to change the font sizes - can anyone tell me how to do it please?

I am having the same problem, and it is relatively recent.
I teach online courses, and the students submit files as Word documents, and I add comments to the document to be returned to them.
Until recently, I could resize the font in the comment balloons (and even change the style so that the change would apply automatically to all balloons in the document, new and existing). The default 10pt was readable, but I found that it was easier to use
11 or 12, using the font sizes the student had chosen to use in the document body.
Starting a few days ago, I can NOT make the font appear in anything other a tiny font that is definitely smaller than the 10-point font. I go through the motions--changing the font size to selected text (all text in the balloon or even one specific word),
and while the Font settings show that I have changed the size, it is not visibly larger. Even changing the style setting for Comment Text has no effect on anything visible.
I can zoom the document to make it bigger, but then I can't see both the text in the document and my comments without scrolling back and forth.
I have tried saving the files as Word 2010 files prior to adding comments, but it doesn't affect the performance at all. Thinking that it might have something to do with the original template used to create the document, I just created a new blank document
in Word 2010 on my own computer, then added a comment balloon to that. While it does appear in the Comment Text style I created for my own computer (using 11-point instead of 10-point), I cannot make the text change size visibly.
KW
Addendum: Further experimentation shows that I can apply a different style to the text inside comment balloons, and that I can change the font size if the default Comment Text style is not used in the comment balloons. I am using the Balloon
Text style as a workaround until problems are resolved with the Comment Text style.

  • Adobe Reader XI 11.0.07: font size in comments has been reduced to about 5pt with this update

    Win7 x64/sp1 with many updates:
For the last few years, I have experienced major font problems with the comments, such as attempting to make a change in a font style causing Reader to lock up for about 3 or 4 minutes.
I allowed the update to 11.0.07 this am and the pdf I was working on, at length yesterday, now has the font size in the numerous comments I created reduced to about 5 pt. I know: that small isn't possible, but that's about what it looks like.
I believe that Adobe's quality control on Reader has been grossly lacking in the comments area. It has been suggested to me that I switch to PDF-XChange.
I will seriously consider it, because, as I open up pdfs from years past that I need to use for the material I'm working on, I see that the font size in all of those comments has been reduced drastically as well.
The only remedy that I can find is to open each comment individually and "Clear formatting."
That will amount to an enormous waste of time.
Please hire someone who is interested in quality control.

    Hi Rohit Sh,,
Thanks for your answer. I have encountered a similar problem. While the font size of the comment created before the update remains unchanged, that of the comment created after the update reduce to about 5pt.
Then I tried to increase the Font Size from "Commenting" section under Edit->Preferences, the font size of both the old comments and new comments get increased. So, for example, suppose the desired font size is 10pt but the new comment look like 5pt, then when I update its value into 10pt again, nothing happened; when I change its value into 15pt, the old comment become 15pt and the new comment look like around 7-8pt; after this, if I change its value back to 10pt, the old comment would become 10pt as desired but the new comment now would become even smaller than 5pt. In conclusion, I can never make all comment have the consistent font sizes by changing the Font Size from "Commenting" section under Edit->Preferences, as it worked in the earlier version.
Please fix this. Thank you very much.

  • CustomTaskPane Title font size changed when upgrading from 2010 to 2013

I just upgraded my Word project from Office 2010 to Office 2013. The title of my task pane has changed font size considerably. Is there anyway to control the font size of the custom task pane title?
    taskPane = Globals.ThisAddIn.CustomTaskPanes.Add(new Ey.Wpp.Word.Controls.WppDocTreeControl(), "WPP Report Pane", ctx.Window);

    Hi Jeffki123,
I can reproduce it as you describing. Based on my understanding, the task pane is drawed by Word applicaiton, the Word applicaiton need to make task pane fit the current version of Office.
    >>Is there anyway to control the font size of the custom task pane title?<<
No. As far as I konw, we can only change the size and postion of custom task pane. You can get more detail about the task pane from links below:
    Custom Task Panes
    CustomTaskPane Interface
I suggest that you submit the feedback from link below, if you want to Word expose this function to enable change the font size of custom task pane.

  • Problem printing comments in word 2010

Print Preview shows mark up and comments. The mark up is printed but not the comment itself. It actually gives the reference number for each comment and prints the added area on the right in which the comments should appear. However, the comments don't print.
    Driving me mad!
    Help would be much appreciated
    Thanks

No problem printing them here, but check the formatting of the font in the Comment Text style and make sure that it is set to Automatic.  Under some circumstances, some printers use the color inks to create black for a font that is formatted with the
    color black.
If that doesn't apply, what happens if you use Save & Send and create a pdf from the document?  Once again, here, the pdf includes the comments whether the pdf is created that way or by using the free PrimoPDF converter. Assuming the pdf includes
the comments, as a work around, you could print that.
    Hope this helps.

  • Trouble exporting comments to Word 2010

I am trying to export comments that I've put in an Acrobat document [using Acrobat 9.4.2] to a Microsoft Word document.  I follow the procedure described in the help documentation to do this, but I keep getting an error message that says I need to have at least Word 2002 in order for the feature to work.  I have Word 2010, so I don't understand why the message keeps popping up.  Any thoughts?

This happens if PDFMaker is not loaded in MS Word. Try one thing - Launch MS Word 2010 and make sure that Acrobat Ribbon is getting loaded in it. There might be few reasons like Word Crashed while PDF conversion and all which disablse PDFMaker Addin in Word.
If you find that Addin is infact disabled, enable it in Word from "File->Options->Addins->Manage->Disabled Items". Enable PDFMaker addin, relaunch Word and see it Addin loads now and try export comments again.
    I hope this will work.

  • How do you increase the font size of the menu words in Elements 12?

Hi, I have just installed Photoshop Elements 12 on my new laptop but the menu words are so small that they are almost unreadable.
Is there any way to increase the font size?
    Many thanks
    Phil

Go to settings, general, accesibilty, change large text to the font you want.

  • Comment Summary font size

Is there a way to increase the largest font size for Comment Summaries? Small is unreadable. Medium is almost unreadable. Large is too small to read easily.
Our workflow depends on transferring changes from Acrobat document to InDesign document. Without two displays, the user needs to print the Comments and work from that hard copy. But the size of the Large font size in Comment Summaries is still way too small to work from easily.

You can't; this is set when the form is created.
But you may use the Zoom function to enlarge the entire document.

  • Cannot change font size when highlighted. All font changes. How do I correct this?

Frustrated as to why when I highlight a single word to change font size or style every word on the page follows the adjustment. I need to be able to change words individually with font, size and color.

I have stopped using Text Edit as I find it flaky. Instead I prefer Bean:
    http://www.bean-osx.com/Bean.html
which does not have that problem!

  • Font Size Gone Wild

I'm having this weird problem on the site I'm building. Every so often, when I put something in italic, the font size for the word I've italicized ends up way bigger than the words around it.
I have been marking the word I want to italicize and using the Font tab in the Format pulldown to select Italic.
So I decided to mark the word and use the Show Fonts pulldown to select exactly the type I want (Helvetica Neua 12 pt. italic) for the word. But that didn't work either.
    What is going on?

I got burned out trying to fix this and haven't gone back to it until today.
Still can't solve the problem, and I'm talking the site live on Monday.
I don't really understand your suggestion aboout publishing the site to a folder on my hard drive.
Can you explain in a bit more detail?
This is just nuts. If I leave the words in question in roman type there's no problem. As soon as I add the italics the font size on the italacised words jumps up several sizes. I tried using command i to italicize the words, but that didn't make any difference either. I tried putting the text into Word and pasting it into the box. That didn't help.
Right now I'm thinking I'll just have to leave these book titles in roman.

  • REM Font Sizes Enlarged in Design View

I've purchased DW CC, v 13.2 Build 6471.  Fonts in px and em display correctly in Design view and Live Mode. However, font sizes in rem, while rendered correctly in live mode, appear to be multiplied by a factor of 10 in regular Design view.  Here is a basic code example with three text sizes:
    Here's what Live View renders:
But, this is what Design View shows:
Note that the html base font is set to 100%.  Am I missing something else here?  Is anyone able to duplicate this problem?
    Regards, Chris Niestepski

Thank you, Subhadeep!  Whenever I'm not imagining things, that's good news!
    Now, two questions:
    1) Should this be considered a "bug" in DW fork?
I believe so.  The fork appears to be multiplying the rem value by a factor of 10.  This throws the dimensions and alignment so much as to make Design view useless when using rem.
    2) I'm not the first to use rem with DW.  What are users using as a work-around?
If the user unchecks View > Display Styles, that largly goes against the purpose of Design View.
The user can also do this in the CSS:
    font-size: 1rem;
    font-size: 1px; /* Comment for Upload */ OR
    font-size: 1rem;
    font-size: 1em; /* Comment for Upload */
This lets you work while in DW but doubles the work required, especially for elastic layouts.  And the idea of rem was so the user didn't have to do so many math calculations and worry about inhereitance as with em.
    Any ideas?

  • Mangal Fonts and Tunga Fonts in (MS Home and Student 2010) Word 2010 not getting converted into PDF

Why do I get a totally blank PDF file whenever I try to convert any (Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010, Version: 14.0.6029.1000) Word document file containing either Mangal Fonts (Hindi) and Tunga Fonts (Kannada) into a PDF file (by using Adobe Acrobat X Standard - English, Version: 10.1.4, Program File Size: 1790 MB, Complete/Full Version) after formatting and reinstalling all the necessary software / softwares (Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3 and Windows XP Service Pack 3, Version: 20080414-031525, Program File Size: 9.08 MB)?
    I'm using
    01) Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3
    02) Computer: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 3.00 GHz, 504 MB of RAM
    03) Windows XP Service Pack 3, Version: 20080414-031525, Program File Size: 9.08 MB

    06) Windows Internet Explorer 8, Version: 20090308.140743, Program File Size: 4.20 MB
Any Word 2010 document file that has been converted into any PDF File unfortunately does not show either the Mangal (Hindi) Fonts or the Tunga (Kannada) Fonts.
The PDF file will unfortunately become/remain totally/fully/completely blank.
When I convert an Excel Workbook having the Tunga Fonts (Kannada) to/into a PDF File, some of the Tunga fonts in the PDF file are legible and some are unfortunately illegible (get superimposed / overwritten on each other).
Perhaps I may get the same result if I try to convert an Excel Workbook having the Mangal Fonts (Hindi) to/into a PDF File with some Mangal fonts being/becoming legible and the rest being/becoming illegible (getting superimposed / overwritten on each other).

My chronological sequence of steps to create a Word 2010 Document or an Excel 2010 Workbook:
I first create a Word Document File or an Excel Workbook File and save it by giving an appropriate file name.
Then I right click on the closed Word Document File or the Excel Workbook File in the file folder and convert it into a PDF by retaining the same/original file name.
The font list of Microsoft Word 2010 claims/says/states that both Mangal and Tunga are True Type fonts and also that these fonts will/would be used on both printer and screen.
In case if there is any text content in English in the beginning it will get converted into PDF only till/until either a Mangal(Hindi)/Tunga(Kannada) Font starts.
The remaining English text content does not get converted into/to PDF the moment a Mangal(Hindi)/Tunga(Kannada) Font starts. If the entire matter is purely (100 per cent) in English text it will fully / completely / totally get converted into a PDF file without any problem.

  • I had iCloud on my Microsoft Office 2010 and tried to increase the font size - I read to unistall and reinstall, so I did. This took iCloud away from Calendars and Contacts. I re-installed iCloud and it will not sync with my Calendars

I had iCloud installed, and it was working, then I wanted to increase font size in the notes section of Calendar.  I read to uninstall iCloud and reinstall iCloud and it would be fixed.
Once I reinstalled iCloud it did not show up in Microsoft Office 2010 - Calendar or Contacts.........which it had previous to the uninstall.
When I sync it errors.  I am at my wits end trying to sync this, and it just keeps erroring. I am not syncing phots/photo stream, just contacts and calendar.
Please can anyone tell me what setting I have to change??

Needed to add some clarification here:
iCloud shows me as signed in, but Calendars are NOT checked

Why Acrobat x professional is changing the text formatting specifically the font family  and the font size of the text in my pdf on exporting it to Microsoft word file format ?How should i stop Acrobat x professional from doing that so that i get an exactly same word file on exporting it from its pdf counterpart?

I was testing the preciseness & efficiency of Adobe acrobat x professional's doc conversion capabilities. As i have to take a document editing project in future which is going to need lot of pdf to word and vice versa conversions . What I did was I created a test word document converted into a pdf using a pdf maker in my word 2007 , Acrobat did convert the document from word to pdf keeping everything in the source file intact , However when i tried the other way round and attempted to convert the same pdf to word 2007 file format I lost my formatting ?So the font that I used to create the pdf are the ones taken from word 2007 which i believe is using the fonts that are installed in my computer. Any suggestions on how to preserve the formatting of the document after converting it from pdf to word file format?

  • Windows 7 Word 2010 with EPS A4 Acrobat X Pro Paper Size Issue

I'm running into the following issue trying to create a PDF.
Word 2010 A4 page size. Document has some Illustrator EPS images used in it.
When I go to make the PDF using Acrobat from the top menu and then Create PDF, the page size of the PDF is A4, but the color is the low res bit map preview look. Not acceptable color, all colors converted to CMYK, but the EPS files have incorrect color values.
When I use File Print Acrobat PDF, the color is correct, but it reduces the pages to 8-1/2 x 11. Every setting I can find is calling for a A4 page size. This way the colors are left as the original files CMYK + Pantone colors.
I spent 2-1/2 hours with Adobe on this and they had no solution.
We have tried different Default Settings and no difference.
The Adobe PDF Page Size: is A4.
If we make the page size A3 then it generates a A3 size PDF.
When I was running XP with Word 2003 and Acrobat 9 Pro I didn't run in to this problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
