Font size very small on Facebook

Hi, Just purchased a 7" A3300 Tab for my mom (85 years old - use tab to communicate with grand and great grand children). My problem is that even selecting the largest fonts in the settings still does not change the very small font size in Facebook. Can anybody help please otherwise the tab is useless to her and i just wasted lots of money.

Ok I'm 65 years old and only read about rooting since I started looking for a solution to this problem. dpi I know. I must first find out how to root this device which I will. Thanks for your support.

I have to put my curser at the very top of the screen to get to the web browser, otherwise it is not there. Also, the font size of my homepage and all pages I browse from firefox are very small. This began after the last update.

  • Subtitle font size very small

I just got my 2nd gen Apple TV yesterday. This is my first Apple TV so I don't know if this is a new issue or not. I have a number of DVD's that I own that I have encoded, with (soft) subtitles, for use in iTunes. The subtitles function correctly on all my iDevices, including the AppleTV.
The problem is that the size of the subtitle text varies from movie to movie. HD content seems to display the largest subtitle text while standard def DVD's that have been encoded have very small subtitle text. It seems the lower resolution the content is the smaller the subtitle text gets. Is this how the AppleTV is supposed to function with Subtitles? I have a 52" tv and when watching a DVD I've encoded for iTunes the subtitle text is too small to read comfortably from more than a few feet away.
I purchased the AppleTV primarily for the ability to stream my library WITH subtitles as my wife is hearing impaired, the subtitle size issue is a big show stopper if there is no resolution.
    Thank you.

I noticed the same issue. Here's another observation. I have 1st Gen. ATV and the subtitles are perfectly legible. When I play the exact same file on the brand new 2nd Gen. ATV, the text is tiny.
Now this is a DVD that I used Handbrake to encode. The subtitles are NOT the bitmapped text that is burned into the movie. This subtitle text is actually the Closed Caption track that can be turned on and off.
On the 1st Gen. ATV, the text is clear, large, and floats in a dim gray box that changes size depending on how long the sentence is.
On the 2nd Gen. ATV, the text is clean, small and is displayed ion the lowest portion of the screen all the way at the bottom. It's also in a dim gray box, but the box is the maximum width of the screen regardless of how much text there is.
I wanted to upgrade to this 2nd Gen. ATV, and I like many of the new features it offers, however, on this first day, I have to say I'm a bit weary as a few things, including this subtitle issue, have really turned me off. But hey, I'll leave all of my other concerns for another post.
I want LARGE TEXT on the new 2nd Gen. ATV!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is the Photoshop font size extremely small for their navigation menus and tools?

Why is the font size for the Photoshop Cloud navigation menus and tools displaying extremely small on my laptop? I can barely see them. The other Adobe Cloud applications don't display small.

Is a readable interface an unreasonable expectation?
Not at all, and we should well expect that Adobe is working on it.  By their own admission they ARE working on it.  I don't sense "deafening silence" at all.  But results won't/can't be instantaneous and they're not going to promise you release dates.  Life is not like that, no matter how many times you click your red shoes together.
It's not hard to understand that right now only a small minority of Photoshop users are running high dpi screens that can't take advantage of the 200% setting.  And it was the choice of those users to buy such hardware even in light of the fact that Photoshop can't work fully well on it yet.  Adobe didn't force anyone to buy a 150 ppi display.
Frankly, if you've chosen such hardware even though Photoshop doesn't offer 150% scaling, it's your own fault.  I recently invested well over $1000 in a new monitor and I planned well enough ahead to buy a 100ppi model (Dell U3014, and it's GREAT).  There's a reason that very new technology is called "bleeding edge".  If you want "To Work" instead of "Dealing With Quirks", sometimes you have to be conservative.
A majority of Photoshop users DO expect new and useful features, however, such as new tools, new camera support in Camera Raw, etc., so Adobe understandably cannot dedicate every resource they have to revamping Photoshop's user interface just for a special few folks who have irresponsibly adopted new display technology.
We can debate all day how much Adobe ought to be spending on engineering development, but you and I don't run the company.  We don't make business decisions for them.  I do, however, claim to understand their capabilities and limitations - possibly better than most - because I'm in the same business.
I can only recommend you be patient.  One day Photoshop will respond to your desktop settings.
What the heck has anybody ever accomplished here, with Adobe, in either fashion?
Rhetorical or not, some quite tangible things do come to mind...
At one time I couldn’t paste my clipboard containing a grayscale image into a new document via an action assigned to a key; the color engine would crash.  Today I can do so without incident.
At one time multiple Help windows would pop up unexpectedly, often when working in the Styles panel.  Today they don’t.
At one time I had to select Basic GPU mode.  Today I use Advanced GPU mode without a problem.
Once running Liquify or Smart Sharpen or a number of other things were slow, especially on big images.  Now they're quite fast, with GPU acceleration.
At one time an action could not write data back to a document when in windowed mode.  Today it works.
At one time panorama stitching and focus stacking did not work.  Now it works.
At one time most filters only worked on 8 bits/channel data.  Now many of them can handle 16 bits/channel.
Once naysayers predicted that the Photoshop Photography bundle would shoot up in price.  Yet today it's still $9.99 a month.
Once it was impossible to read Photoshop's UI on a 200+ ppi screen.  Now there's a new 200% setting for that.
I'm sure I can think of other things.  And of course the software isn't perfect today.  It never will be absolutely perfect.
Station_two, are you keeping up with the latest Photoshop releases?  If not, I submit that your rhetoric may be falling out of date.

  • Best font for very small type

I am working on a small pocket book. Any suggestions for a font and size to get the most words on a page with high readability?
    Joel

Nomina makes the Italian phonebook really legible with very small characters.
French PTT choose a standard font in a small size and of course most of the oldies asked for the big book because the small one was quite impossible to use.
As far as I know, PTT dropped the small book.
Recognizing that they choose a sad font was too simple, they prefer to say: these oldies are old fashioned, they don't accept changes.
I know that Nomina is the property of the Italian company but was it really impossible to buy the rights of use?
Remember, we are the country which claims at the face of the world: "Impossible n'est pas Français".
With public administrations, "Impossible" is too often "Possible".
I don't know if these remarks are politically correct

  • Adobe Reader 9 doesnt render font size's smaller that 6

I have Adobe Reader 9 and Adobe Acrobat 8 installed on my computer.
When i try to open a pdf that has a font size of 5 or smaller doesnt matter which font it is it will cut half of the text off in Adobe reader 9.  This seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader 9 cause i have multiple computers here at my office that are running adobe reader 9 and they also cannot see all of there text if it is font size 5 or smaller.
When i open this exact same pdf in adobe acrobat 8 it renders the font size 5 text.
Is there a font library or pack that i can download to solve this problem for adobe reader 9.
The reason i ask is because i have clients that are using adobe reader 9 that need to be able to see these pdf's.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Font size too small to read in safe/boot mode

I'm posting for a friend who has vision issues. He's attempting to do the clean installation on his 2012 MBP with Mavericks. Basically he's having some trouble reading small font size in the Startup environment with the bootable Mavericks (and likely next steps once the installation is completed). The shortcut command for Zoom in is disabled (which Accessibility or certain shortcut commands obviously is/are disabled in this environment) and can't find a way to change the screen resolution in order to enlarge the size of the screen and font size. Any suggestion to remedy this case?

Here are a couple of workarounds until Apple finally fixes iCal.
You can go to print, choose medium or big, then preview. Then click the middle orange button on the original iCal page to make it disappear. Print Preview will remain, and for me "Big" in preview produces a perfect, visible size. AND YES YOU CAN EDIT IT... but only in Preview. This is now a Preview document, so you can go to tools, annotate (or do the keyboard shortcut), click the annotate icon at the bottom and add items to the Preview Calendar. They won't go into iCal software, of course, but for reminders for the current month they'll work fine.
This works especially well if you have an extra monitor, set the screen size to large, and pull iCal or your Preview over to it and leave it there. I leave Mail and iCal Preview up on the extra monitor.

  • Font Size too small to work with

In the code view, the Font Size is too small to work with and the zoom in/out and magnification are grayed out.
How do I increase the font size so I can see what I'm doing?

Edit > Preferences > Fonts > Code View.
HINT:  If you switch between Western European and Unicode, be sure to set-up font-sizes for both.

It's the layout of the site, you can zoom the page you know , unless it happens to be an application, in which case just go to the web site through the browser and use zoom function on web browser.
    Good Luck
Also you could try Opera mini and set zoom level in options to 140%

  • Print font size too small

When printing in Safari, the print size is tiny, both in email and web sites, smaller than it appears on screen. When using Internet explorer or Firefox it prints the right size. If I go to Safari edit, preferences, then appearance, and raise font size, it will print larger, but all font sizes on web pages are way big. How can I just increase the print font size. My IP is Comcast. OS is Win XP sp3.

It should print the same size. Click View -> "Make text bigger" before printing.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Quiz(Matching)  Drop down list font size too small.

    Hi,
We are using Adobe Captivate 4.  Quiz (Matching).  Exported to SWF.
The drop down list fonts are small. We want to use bigger font in the drop down list, but cant find a way.
    Any one can help?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Formatting Question slides in CP is sometimes a pain. I cannot give you a proper answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this dropdown list (link is in the main page of this forum). If we are many to ask for such enhancements, it will get higher on the priority list.
As you probably discovered, in the Properties of the dropdown lists in the Matching Question slide you can only change font and color, not font size. My proper workaround is choosing a font that gives the best result, some fonts really look bigger than others. This is not always consistent with the styles in the rest of the movie, but I adapt all the Text in Question slides to this choosen font.
Sorry not to be able to help you. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC-format, and I cannot open those files, even though I have Flash CS4 installed. Perhaps a Flash-wise guy will pop in to help you.

  • Font sizes look small on screen

why do fonts look much smaller on my screen than they do in print? 12 point fonts look more like 4 point fonts. But if I up the screen size so I can see it (and my eyesight is not that bad), then if I print something it is humonguous. bad case of what you see is not what you get, anyone know why this is?

My only suggestion would be to reduce your resolution...
How have you got your page set up in word? If it shows the actual page (as it were), then it'd be a lot easier to guess what size it's gonna come out on the page...
You could always zoom in on the page in word?
But as mentioned, apple key and the + key will make the text appear large in firefox

  • System Font Size Too Small

I just received a new 15 inch powerbook today (Dec. 2005). It has increased screen resolution with respect to the previous model, but I think the default font size (i.e. top menu bar, safari window bar font size) is noticeably smaller than the older powerbooks. The problem is you can't adjust this - in Finder - show view options only controls the desktop icon size and font sizes. In safari you can make the page text bigger, but not the font size of the window. There is the Zoom option in accessibility, but I really only need a small global font increase. Does anybody know a work-around?
    thanks
    Trevor

    Download and use TinkerTool.
Thanks - but it said something like "this is not adjustable" and asked to click an "understood button". Subsequent system font adjustments did not do anything. It looks like the adjustability varies for different OS X releases...
