  • Whats the best option for passing parameters between tf?

    Dear All,
    I have three Task Flows:
    1. TF1
         -  Main Taskflow that calls a web service to gather its data
    2. TF2
         -  Secondary taskflow which receives a parameter and depending on the value of the parameter received will display its data accordingly.  Generally any data
         is feed from TF1
    3. TF3
         -  Same as TF2Use Case:
All three TF will be dropped to the page as Regions in a Webcenter Portal Application. Changes in TF1 should propagate into TaskFlow 2.
    Question:
    1. How do I configure that changes in TF1 would be propagated back into task flow 2 and 3 and whats the best option for this?
    2. At runtime, user can choose to edit the page and TF2 and TF3 can be deleted but TF 1 should remain as the source of information.
    Given the scenario above:
    - shall I wire the taskflows via page parameters?
    - contextual events?
What are the considerations that needs to be thought of. I havent done such requirements before.
    Please help.
    Webcenter 11.1.1.6

Contextual events seem to be the best case.
This way you can trigger whenever you want. Web services can be slow so you can trigger the event when the gathering of the data has been finished and then pass some value on the event.
An event also has a payload so it's an ideal scenario to add the data from the service on it so you can use it in the other TF's.
In order to manage the deletion of the TF1, you can use the UI events on the composer: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_page_editor_adv.htm#CHDHHFDJ

  • What are best options for home Mac Wi-Fi setup?

Having a newer 3rd gen iPod Touch and planning on getting
an Apple laptop ... what are some of the better Wi-Fi options
to setup in my home environment (using indoors and around
    the house, patio, etc.?
I'm obviously aware of Apple's products like AirPort Express Base Station,
AirPort Extreme Base Station, and maybe even the older AirPort bases, but
would also welcome any suggestions to inexpensive third-party "Mac friendly"
Wi-Fi routers as well (ie: Belkin, NetGear, etc.)
Some of the older Apple AirPort Base units are showing up on eBay, and
even though slower than the newer Apple Wi-Fi routers, seem to offer a reasonable
entry point at a reasonable price.
What are some of the best Wi-Fi routers for a basic setup, the most reliable, and
    least expensive for starting out?
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Apple routers generally work well but are expensive and in the middle range of performance. The Airport Extreme base station works well and is capable of operation across both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Your Macbook will do well at 5 GHz and your touch at 2.4 GHz. However, there are other routers out there that will perform better for less money.
So, I suggest you do some research on what would best fit your needs. The following website, http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/ does a really good job of wireless router reviews, albeit a bit technical. If you don't need the 5 GHz band, then there are a number of 2.4 GHz routers out there that will do really well for under $100. A good wireless N 2.4 GHz router will work well in your application.
For prices and user reviews, both NewEgg and Amazon are much better locations to research/purchase than E-Bay.

  • Font Size: What is wrong with the Adobe people?

I am so sick of squinting.
Bloody increase your font size in Adobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop.
There is no point in dozens of people discussing it in the Adobe Community Forums if you can' fix it, so just fix it.
    FIX IT

    Well Emily
I live in Europe so a bit far from the HQ and maybe a punch in the stomach is not the best idea (although tempting) but I'm sure there are a lot of volunteers ready to join you..

  • MacBook Pro - what's best option for university Windows apps?

My son is starting university and considering buying a MacBook Pro (we are a Mac family). However, his math textbooks (calculus and linear algebra) come with bundled software, or keys to downloadable software, that only runs on Windows. I haven't been paying attention, and would appreciate some practical advice on how to run Windows. Please tell me if I understand correctly...
To run either Boot Camp or Parallels, do you have to buy and install a copy of Windows separately? Or is Boot Camp an emulator that doesn't require stand-alone Windows?
What Windows version do you recommend? (Sounds like Vista is problematic)
Can you just install Windows like you install the Mac OS, or is it more complicated?
In my experience, education software is poorly written. Comments on the Apple Store website say Parallels is "picky" about software. Do you think Boot Camp would be enough?
With Boot Camp can you switch back and forth on the desktop (like Parallels says it can), or do you have to re-boot?
    Any other observations?
    Thanks for any help.

You want a review that looks at both side by side.
Vista is no more a problem than any other OS, and probably easier in some ways.
From around the time Vista came out, so rather dated, and once SP1 is out, well I found BootCamp 1.3 and recent updates and drivers have made using 64-bit fine, stable, and can run all day w/o problems.

Having used Vista for the last year, and OS X for 7, I think it would be easier to go with Vista than "back in time" with XP - if Windows is a new experience.
If they are going to have to use and learn Windows, they'll need to get up to speed on how to lock down their system and use it. That would make a VM easier to get started but yes, native Windows (BootCamp) would be same as using a PC mostly. And force your son to learn Windows (but get him a book to help, too).

  • Whats the best option to increase the speed on my mid 2010 macbook pro?

What choices are there for me to increase the speed of my computer ?

More RAM and a SSD. If you're running under 8GB of RAM, I would recommend upgrading to 8GB. You can check out Crucial or OWC for the correct RAM configuration for your model.
While you're at Crucial, I would also look at the available SSDs that would fit your machine - just use the System Scanner tab, and it will show you the recommended upgrades.
RAM and SSDs are about the only things you can upgrade to make your computer faster.
If you're new to SSDs, see my user tip here -> https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4741.
    Good luck,

  • Don't Have Music Saved To Computer - DO Have FLAC already... What's Best Option To B/U Entire Ipod with Artwork?

Ok, so I recently got a 160 GB ipod classic for Christmas, LOVE it. Loaded a ton of music, most of the space is taken up. Loaded everything in ALAC for the best quality. I did not save the music onto my computer as I went along, due to space available. I deleted as I uploaded each chunk of music to the pod. Here’s my question…. It took a lot of time to upload all of my music. A lot of the artwork I had to manually add etc…. I really don’t want to ever have to do this again, if something happens to my ipod or I get a new one. Now, I DO have all my music backed up in FLAC on an external hard drive… I know that format is not compatible with ipods, but is it easily able to be converted to ALAC if need be? I even have artwork from all my cd’s scanned on the drive as well. OR is there an easy way I can transfer all my music, including all art from my ipod to an external hard drive? Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.
Note: ALL of my music is loaded from my cd's, none is bought via itunes.

Move your current library to your external drive. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device to pull the media on the device back into it.

  • Have iPhones in UK, maybe moving to USA. What's best option?

I started 2 new iPhone 3G contracts in January for my wife and I. One at £45 p/m, the other at £35 p/m.
It's possible we'll be moving to the USA later this year. Don't know exactly when yet, but it could be October. By that point we'll be 8 or 9 months into the contracts.
I'd like us both to have iPhones in the USA.
Any suggestions as to the best way to do this?
Take them over to USA and start new AT&T contract? (will the phones work?)
    Sell the handsets?
Can I cancel our contracts and pay a cancellation fee?
    All suggestions welcome.

I'm guesing your with O2 being in the UK it's still worth checking with your carrier to see if they can unlock the iPhones (with an ETC and unlock fee of course) if you can do that you should be able to take the iPhones with you and then get a contract in the US
Especially since the laws in the UK are very similar to the ones here in Aus and we can do it here.

  • I dropped my iPhone 5 outside in the rain all night and now it only shows the apple logo on my phone , any idea what my best options would be?

PPlease help me I don't know what my next step should be without having to break the bank

You should never try to turn on or charge a wet iPhone until it has dried for a week or so.
If you have tried to turn it on or charge it, then the damage is done.
You can buy an out of warranty replacement.  I believe it is $249-ish in the U.S
