Font Support On Widnows Server 2008
hi there,
am with little bit of problem here, have set the Font of a field as "Arial Unicode MS" in which there is suppport for both English and Hindi this is working fine in local system, but when i try same in Windows Server 2008 the font is getting changed when i try export in pdf format, wht may be the problem with the font....why is it getting changed on server
OS - Windows XP
Version - Crystal Reports 10.5 that comes with Visual Studio 2008
The substitution will typically happen because the worker process does not have access rights to that font. Use [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] to see if it tells you what needs what rights (at minimum, ProcMon should show you the registry it needs permissions to).

Is DTS supported in SQL server 2008 R2 with Compatibility level 100?
We have a DTS package which executes one stored procedure.
We have recently switched SQL server compatibility level from 80 to 100.
On Compatibility level 80 it was working fine.
When i switched the level to 100, and executes DTS it shows successfully executed but stored procedure doenot really executed.
When i execute stored procedure in query analyzer it executed successfully and results were as expected.
Please let me know Is DTS supported in SQL server 2008 R2 with Compatibility level 100?We have just implemented DTS packages on SQL2008R2 using the Backward Compatibility Tools (serarch for SQLServer2005_BC.msi)
You need the files:
SQLServer2005_BC.msi or SQLServer2005_BC_x64.msi
and SQLServer2005_DTS.msi
After you install these, perform the following -
1) To integrate DTS Designer with SSMS:
Copy the files SEMSFC.DLL, SQLGUI.DLL, and SQLSVC.DLL
from %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn
to %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE
Copy the files SEMSFC.RLL, SQLGUI.RLL, and SQLSVC.RLL
from %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\Resources\1033
to %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\Resources\1033
2) To integrate DTS Designer with BIDS:
Copy the files SEMSFC.DLL, SQLGUI.DLL, and SQLSVC.DLL
from %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn
to %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE
Copy the files SEMSFC.RLL, SQLGUI.RLL, and SQLSVC.RLL
from %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\Resources\1033
to %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\Resources\1033

Librfc32 support on Windows server 2008
Hi,
We at Trango Software (division of Siemens Enterprise Networks) are currently using the SAP Remote Function Call runtime as a part of our product (librfc32.dll, File Version 6403.3.55.4580). We will be supporting Windows Server 2008 platform from our product's next release. We are assessing compatibility on Windows Server 2008 platform of all the third-party libraries and tools that are part of our product.
We would like to know if the SAP remote function call runtime dll (librfc32.dll) is currently supported with Windows Server 2008. If not, we would like to know when (tentatively) it is expected to be supported.
Thanks a lot for your help.Hello,
have you configured the accounts to have the permission "Log on as a service"? I have seen that this is not given to the account and therefore the service fails to start.
Best regards

Microsoft support for Windows Server 2008 R2 on vSphere 5.5
Hi, everybody.
I'm checking if Microsoft will provide support for Windows Server 2008 R2 running on a VM on vSphere 5.5 Update 2. So far what I've found at
http://windowsservercatalog.com is:
Filtering vendor VMware and Windows Server 2008 R2, it shows vSphere up to version 5.0 update 1
http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?&chtext=&cstext=&csttext=&chbtext=&bCatID=1521&cpID=2274&avc=34&ava=0&avq=0&OR=1&PGS=25&ready=0
http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/item.aspx?idItem=c92e5cbd-9690-b62a-2ace-843390ac3ea4&bCatID=1521
Filtering vendor VMware it shows vSphere 5.5 update 2, but details only Windows Server 2012, not Windows Server 2008 R2.
http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?&chtext=&cstext=&csttext=&chbtext=&bCatID=1521&cpID=2274&avc=0&ava=0&avq=0&OR=1&PGS=25&ready=0&PG=2
http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/item.aspx?idItem=ef39c5b2-2f5b-5b73-08e2-c07fecdadcff&bCatID=1521
Does that mean Microsoft doesn't support Windows 2008 R2 on vSphere 5.5 update 2?
I'm aware Windows Server 2008 R2 lifecycle is close to EOL, but customer requires this specific version for application compatibility.
ThanksHi mdgrkb,
Products that have passed the SVVP requirements for Windows Server 2012 R2 are considered supported on Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, and
Windows Server 2003 SP2 and later Service Packs, both x86 and x64.
Look this website the top left additional information:
http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/item.aspx?idItem=ef39c5b2-2f5b-5b73-08e2-c07fecdadcff&bCatID=1521

Crystal Reports Supported on Windows Server 2008?
Right now, we have it running on Server 2000, but server is being replaced. Would like to go with Windows Server 2008, but, making sure application compatibility first. I have searched the internets, have even called, and cannot get a straight answer.
What Windows OS does Crystal Reports support? And by support, I mean "work without glitches".Well, there's both gated and ungated content, but Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Xcelsius should all have ungated equivalents.
It's just that not everyone on this side of the web browser has got the message.
I do regret this.
The CR2008SP1 supported platforms (ungated) is found here:
Windows 2003 is supported, and Windows 2008 is supported starting with SP1.

Adobe Air 3.6 - Support for Windows Server 2008 R2?
Hello all,
Adobe lists "Windows Server 2008" in the list of supported operating systems.
We tested our application on a Win 2008 R2 terminal server and could'nt find any issues so far. Is there a reason why Adobe does not list "Windows Server 2008 R2" (64 Bit) in the supported platforms list?
Thanks in advance!Hello Tobias
please have a look at the SAP note

BE 9.2 agent support for Win Server 2008
Greetings, all...
I have a client with an OES 2 NetWare cluster running BE 9.2. We will soon be deploying Blackberry Enterprise Server 5 on a new box running Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit (the only app on the box). I'm wondering whether BE 9.2 will support the Backup Exec 2010 Agent for Windows Systems, so that I may add this machine to the standard backup routine. Any experiences?

Hello I am using the SQL Business Inteligence Development studio that comes with SQL 2008 R2. However whenever i try using the graphical query builder It throws an error stating that the server i am connected is not supported. Only SQL servers from
2005 downwards are supported. dunno whats going onHi ,
It should not be . Did you create the data source for that server ? Test the connection . In design view add the data source which will be reference to share data source .I am not sure you were able to create data set perfectly ..
Let me know the specific error . I will help you out.

Does XI 3.1 SP2 support Windows Server 2008 Release 2?
In the supported platforms guide for Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 it lists support for Windows Server 2008 but I'm curious if it will support 2008 Release 2???
2012 R2 is not mentioned (that article is over two years old),
Would be kinda hard to mention a non-existent operating system in a 2 year old blog post, eh?
Maybe the Blog entry could be updated?
There's no need to update the blog post once you understand the specifics of the update. The update introduces NEW functionality required for ALL operating systems from Windows 8 forward.
Also, maybe you shouldn't be so literal in your search efforts? :-) Think outside the box a bit, eh? Understand *why* the update was created. What does the update do that makes WSUS v3 work for Win8/WS2012. Is there some reason that wouldn't work for subsequent
operating systems? You didn't have the update anyway, did it never cross your mind.. "Hey.. maybe I should do this... anyway?"
Nevermind the hundreds of conversations in this forum about KB2734608 and the dozens of times Win8.1 or WS2012R2 is mentioned in those conversations.

Roberto.Hi Roberto,
By 'Crystal report XI runtime' if you mean CR 11.0, then it is not supported with Windws Server 2008 R2.
See the compatibility chart.

The link you have referred is for Crystal Reprots for VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 which is the lates version of CR which provides the SDK.

Windows Server 2008/SQL 2008 support?
Does the latest release of Business Object support MS Windows Server 2008 and SQL server 2008? We are currently running BO 11.5R2 and would like to upgrade to the latest version. Since we are also upgrading our servers to the latest 2008 versions of Windows Server and SQL server, it would be nice to know if we can install this to our new hardware.
Thanks,
PeterXI 3.1 or later supports both. See the [supported platforms|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/60cdb229-d874-2b10-18ac-ed2f46873753&overridelayout=true] for more info
