Font view on CC different to CS6

I might just be completely stupid but since I've moved from CS6 to CC my font view is different when I right click on text to bring up fonts. In CS6 the font name is shown in the actual font but in CC it's just got the word 'Sample' in the font. It's driving me crazy! Can I change the view in CC does anyone know?

"sample" is the new way and there is no changing.
to their credit, it's easier to read the names now.

While editing a scanned pdf, Acrobat will not recognize the current font & change to very different font. How can I choose the font I want to match the current document?

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

Since this morning all text in firefox looks slightly different - I think it still uses the same font, but renders it differently!? I would like to have it changed back to what it was. Any help is welcome.
Some facts:
- Happens only in Firefox (IE & Chrome still look the same)
- Already did a reset to defaults
I'm using the latest version of Firefox
Screenshot can be found here: [http://www.ka-pow.net/media/images/firefoxissue.jpg link text]

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View/Beeld > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools/Extra > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

• My fonts are not showing up in CS6

My fonts are not showing up in CS6, but they are installed. How do I fix this?

Please provide some more detail. Are you on Windows or Mac? In which applications are the fonts not showing? And what do you mean by "not showing" (provide a screen shot if possible)?

When opening a pdf document in Adobe Reader the font of the original document is changed....It becomes a mix of the original font and a new different font. How can i fix this

This issue occurs with most of the PDFs that I open up. I am using the latest version of adobe reader on my windows based machine and it is a general PDF. I saw a similar post online stating that if you look at the fonts used in the document and it doesn't say (Embedded) next to it, then Adobe Reader will try to pull the font(s) from your computer and if it doesn't find that font then it will replace it which makes it look funny.

• How to install gnome-font-viewer?

I can't find it in the repo's so what package do I need to install the gnome-font-viewer (btw, I'm using Xfce)? I was able to find an old version called "fontilus" on some forgotten FTP server, but that one conflicts with Nautilus o_O

Thanks
I had to use the pacman -d option, as I didn't want to install all these dependencies that I'm probably never going to use anyway (gnome-panel, evolution-data-server, db4.1, libsoup, metacity, libgnomekbd, libxklavier).

• Simple Font Viewer

Hello everyone
This may be a dump question, but does anyone know a simple font viewer? When I was using KDE I just needed to click on a font file and I could see what the font looked like. Now I switched to xfce (with Thunar as file manager) and there is no such programme. I do not seek a fancy font management tool or something like that. I am sure I just need to pick the right Gnome package, just: which one is it?
Thank you very much in advance!

• What is the best font management software to use with CS6?

I currently use Extensis Fusion 3 but it cannot auto-activate my fonts in CS6. It looks like Fusion 5 is also limited. Is there a better font management software to use with CS6?

Get rid of Norton a/k/a Symantec. It is one of the worst pieces of trash you can install on a Mac.
You do not need any additional anti-virus software than is already designed into OS X to protect your Mac against malware. I assume you paid enough for your iMac and that's part of what you paid.
If you use Windows, or are concerned about harboring viruses that target Windows, or care about friends who use Windows, then get ClamXav. It's in the App Store and it is free.
Since friends don't let friends use Windows, I have no use for it.

• Creating View Object with different criteria

Hi,
I have a requirement to execute the following queries in the application logic. We have YEAR table with mileage rates with different effective dates. If the service date is greater than any of the existing effective dates we need to get the rate with that effective date. if the service date is less than the existing effective dates, then we have to get the rate with least effective date.
SELECT mileage_rate, ... FROM year
WHERE eff_date = (SELECT MAX(eff_date) FROM year WHERE eff_date <= :bServiceDate)
SELECT MILEAGE_RATE, .... FROM YEAR WHERE
EFF_DATE = (SELECT MIN(EFF_DATE) FROM YEAR)
We have to execute the 1st query and if there is no matching records then we have to take the second query with min effective date. At present we are creating two view objects for the above scenario. Is there any possibility to create one view object with different criteria. What is the best solution to handle the above problem in ADF.
Thanks and Regards,
S R Prasad

Well on the ViewObjectImpl you can fire the method getQueryHitCount() passing in the required ViewRowSetImpl. If you get the query hit count as 0, use can attached the other query and execute it.

• PDF font viewed Evince different than actual PDF font?

The title says it all. I'm getting a very strange girly font (no offense, but the i's are dotted with hearts) being rendered for all the text on the PDF. Some PDFs that I view in Evince retain their original font. I have no idea why this is happening, and neither do I have this font on my computer. I am so definitely sure about that. Does anyone have ideas?
I'm using Gnome3 if that matters any.
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a different pdf viewer? Gimp or inkscape can view pdf files or pages. Epdfview is a lightweight, less feature-full alternative to Evince.
It might help to identify the font. You probably have the poppler package installed. If so, you can use 'pdffonts' to list the fonts used in the problem file. The mupdf package includes 'pdfinfo-mupdf' that can also be used to list the fonts used in a pdf-file.

• Type Kit Fonts view differently on remote server

I have small problem with the way type-kit fonts are being displayed once the pages using thenm are uploaded to remote server. They are basically viewing much heavier when uploaded to remote server which is causing problems with layout.
Can anyone shed any light on to why this happens and is there a FIX?
Any help is appreciated!
Attached is a screen shot to show the difference.

Hi Steve,
I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. This is most likely a CSS or browser issue. I'd be happy to take a look. Could you send an email to: [email protected] with the url for this live page?
I can take a look and see what's going on. Have a great weekend.

• Font viewing on iBooks and iPad in general

Hello there, I have the following problem:
I am writing a book in a PC using Word 2010 in Windows 7. I am using two different fonts that I downloaded off the internet: Lancaster and Fertigo Pro. So I saved a PDF and tried viewing it in my iPad, first in the mail and then in iBooks. The iPad, however, shows a bunch of black blurred rectangles instead of words either in iBooks or in the mail. I then tried converting te file to epub, maybe an iBook would display the font correctly, but nothing.
Is there anyway I can view my file in my iPad, most preferably in iBooks as an ebook?
Also, I have absolutely no problem viewing the file in my PC as either docx or PDF.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that you are restricted to the fonts used by the iPad in iOS 5;

• Font in SWF file different once inserted and previewed in Captivate 5

I have inserted a SWF File as an animation into my captivate 5 movie. When I view the SWF file independently, thus, outside of Captivate, the font looks exactly as it should: in Arial. However, once I have inserted the SWF file into Captivate and preview the Animation, the font changes to something which looks like Times New Roman.
A colleague tested the file on her computer also and experienced the same issue.
Does anyone have an idea what could solve this? Does a setting need to be changed in Flash or in Captivate?
Thank you so much!!

OK. Changing to a different font to test is a good strategy. Stick with a standard Windows font, e.g. Verdana.
There have been some issues with fonts getting corrupted that were reported several months ago when Cp5 first came out. Caused some wierd behaviour including preventing Cp from opening at all: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3441458#3441458
Hope yours turns out to be something much simpler.
