FontAgent Pro auto activation fails

I went over this with Insider Software. They are aware of it & say it's they best they can do right now. In other words, it's another Mountain Lion problem. FontAgent Pro is supposed to auto activate all fonts used by a Photoshop document when the document is opened. This stopped working after I upgraded to Mountain Lion. On the phone with Erik Tollefsrud, he says sometimes it happens if you just wait a little longer, but most of the time, you have to close & reopen the document. I have personally seen it fail even after reopening the document. I wonder if Apple even cares about its pro users any more.

Noel,
Maybe it is just me, but it seems that most software companies are concentrating on mobile devices, and users with "real computers," are SOL.
OK, much can be done effectively on an iPad, or similar, but editing Images on a phone, is beyond my feeble comprehension.
If one wants e-mail, or Web browsing, plus some social media, then the mobile devices are fine, though I did have to use my wife's iPad for some serious e-mails w/ attachments, in London recently. That was really painful, at least for me. Mark my vote as "not a fan."
Hunt, used to his real computers

  • Pro's and Con's for Auto activation of ID Objects

    Hi
Can anyone provide me the Pro's and Con's of having Auto activation enabled for ID Objects.
    Regards
    Osman Abdul Aziz Jabri

    Hi Osman,
The Pros of Auto activation is all objects which do not need any manual configuration will activated. But the problem is in one transport (and in one tpz) you might have some object which needs manual configuration before activation and in this case the auto activation is failed.
So i would suggest not to use auto activation feature for ID. Please refer the below SAP Note
1805662 - PI Communication Channel CTS+ transport error: Enter a value for attribute

  • Program Error in new install w/FontAgent Pro

Just built a new Leopard 10.5.4 system on my new 2008 Mac Pro 8 core, got my CS3 apps installed & activated. Opened up my first file in Photoshop, fooled around a bit & closed it. Everything fine, but the file needed a font that was not installed. So I opened FontAgent Pro & installed the CS3 plugin, reopened Photoshop to see if it would load my font automatically. FAP tried to load the font, but was cut off by the Program Error dialog. Tried a couple more times to open this file, no dice. This is a brand new Mac, virgin Leopard install, 10 GB RAM, no reason I can see for this error. Your suggestions would be most welcome.

    Gary,
Just out of curiosity I looked at my Photoshop CS3 Plugin folder and found two FontAgent plugins: FontAgent Pro.plugin and FontAgent Pro Helper.plugin. As my auto activation works without issue I wondered if you had both plugins installed?

  • Why are fonts not needed being auto-activated?

I've got a problem which is driving me mad and in circles and I don't know where to ask/what to do. Let me explain.
I've just updated to Tiger 10.4.8 (via 10.4.6 fresh install). All seems to be going well. One day later I install CS2 (previously had CS). Again, all seems OK. But today I've had a couple of type issues. Firstly, type isn't displaying on some web sites or help documents. Getting the classic 'Russian' looking language. By the way, helvetica.dfont is still in System/library/fonts, along with AppleGothi.dfont, Courier dfont, Geneva dfont, LastResort dfont, LucidaGrande.dfont, Monaco.dfont.
Next problem: I use FontAgent Pro. Now, whenever I open Safari or any CS2 app. (just the app, not an actual document) a bunch of fonts are auto activated which I don't want to be activated, and as far as I know don't need to be activated. They are Devangari MT, Geeza Pro, Gujarati MT, Gurmukhi MT, Hirangino Kaku Gothic Pro, LiHei Pro, STHeiti, Times, and Photoshop also auto activates Osaka. I like to keep my activated fonts to the ones I'm using, so it's annoying me.
Can anyone throw any light on this? I've posted in the Adobe forum (as not really sure if it's a mac thing or an adobe thing) but had no answers. Pulling my hair out! Thanks

no this doesn't work at all.
I am sorry should have said i was using thunderbird because i could not get the mail on the mac set up for my email.
    Any other ideas

    Hi Kathydate,
It doesn't matter what manager a person may be using. If any of the Fonts folders have something in them, they will be active. Check these folders for the fonts.
    /System/Library/Fonts/
    /Library/Fonts/
~/Library/Fonts/ (the tilde means your home account)
The Adobe apps have their own folder at:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/
If there are any fonts in that folder you want to remove, do not remove the folder "Reqrd" or any of the items in it. The Adobe apps need those fonts to operate.
For more details on font locations and which you can remove, see my article, Font Management in Mac OS X Tiger and Panther.

  • Windows Activation Failed

    Hi,
I have captured an image through SCCM 2012SP1 and successfully deployed on a set of systems.Systems are not getting auto activated .I've tried manual activation but got an error.
I found systems having KMS key embedded in bios, systems purchased with windows 8Pro (downgraded option) and shifted with windows 7 Pro by vendor.
is there any way to get them activated??

I have captured an image through SCCM 2012SP1 and successfully deployed on a set of systems.Systems are not getting auto activated .I've tried manual activation but got an error.

I found systems having KMS key embedded in bios, systems purchased with windows 8Pro (downgraded option) and shifted with windows 7 Pro by vendor.
is there any way to get them activated??
This error 0xC004F074 means that the Windows OS edition installed on the computer, is a Volume Licensing (VL) channel edition.
VL channel editions of Windows are provided by MSFT with an embedded KMSclient product key, which assumes that you will have a KMShost implemented within your network. If you don't have a KMShost implemented in your network, this error is expected.
KMSclient product keys are *not* embedded in BIOS by hardware vendors.
What *should* be present in firmware/BIOS, is the SLIC table and Windows Marker.
    You can either:
    a) implement a KMShost in your network, so these computers can auto-activate with your KMShost
    or
    b) modify your imaging/capture/deployment procedures, to instead apply/inject an MAK product key
Alternatively, you could use a different channel Windows (e.g. Retail or OEM), which would not expect/require VL activation methods.
Talk to your vendor - it seems to me that your vendor is misunderstanding your requirements, and your vendor has shipped you the wrong solution for your needs.
Or, your vendor has failed to properly explain to you, the things you must put in place in your network.
You can validate the current situation on these computers, by the use of:
    cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /dlv /all > c:\WinLic.txt
and MGADiag can tell you if SLIC and Markers are correctly present in firmware/BIOS:

  • Opening document triggers auto-activation of fonts that aren't IN document

I'm working on a document (annual report) that was based on a previous year's annual report. In the process I changed all the styles I defined to use a new font family. However, whenever I open the document I get auto-activation notices (Mac, Font Agent Pro) that the old font is opening - all 16 or 17 variations of it.
Where is this font, that it's causing auto activation?
It doesn't show up under Find Font.
    - Bob

Another possibility is that there are frames in the document somewhere being USED as empty graphics frames, but which are in fact TEXT frames, with nothing in them but the "end of story" special character, with a rogue paragraph style applied, which specifies one of those fonts.
If you find such a frame, change its content to "graphic" via Object --> Content --> Graphic. That might do it.

  • What does 'Activation: failed' mean?

After the reset that occurs when I attempted updating 4.4.1 to 4.4.2, I saw 'Activation: failed' in the general>about settings screen.
Now after a little while, it is no longer there.  But, what does it mean, generally?

It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
    If on wifi try ethernet
Make sure router has port 123 open (refer to manual if unsure)

  • ATV3 After Recent Update Activation Failed(Skipped)

I'm a new user to apple products, I bought ATV3 couple of weeks ago. It was working fine. I used AirParrot to mirror my PC (Win7) and airplay was working fine on my friend's iPhone. After a restart (I guess it was updated to iOS 7), I couldn't mirror my PC nor run music from my iTunes. I can only see my shared libraries from ATV3 GUI.
I tried to reset, but i got activation failed. I tried all the rest options (Restore All settings, Restore and Restore from iTunes), all led me to the same results, activation failed and no mirroring is available neither from AirParrot nor iPhone.
    Please help.

Thanks for your response. Still Activation Failed
    - The DNS is already set to Auto. I modified it to manual then automatic again.
    - I tried Ethernet, restarted a few times.
    - I didn't change the location of the Wi-Fi, specially it is located in the same room. Youtube is working perfectly via ATV.
I can see my iTunes library on ATV, why I can't mirror any device??
If downgrading will fix the problem, I'm willing to do it.

  • KMS client activation failed, but got server response?

I've been using KMS for several years. Generally there are no problems with KMS, but I have a single machine that is refusing to activate, and I cannot determine why. I've been doing extensive web searching but I'm not finding anything useful.

    ================================
Windows 7 Pro was installed on this machine using Microsoft's volume activation media, and is a standard image applied via Windows Deployment Services to some 200 other computers with no problems.
We also use a variety of surplus/off-lease machines, usually Dell brand, never with any activation problems.

It's a Dell Inspiron desktop. Apparently a "for the home" system? Yet it was bought with Win 7 Pro OEM installed, and so I had hoped I could roll it into the KMS easily. Tried updating the BIOS but still acts the same.
How can a "home edition" BIOS that's incompatible with KMS come with Win 7 Pro OEM?
Oddly, we have several Dell XPS systems that are using KMS just fine. Those are almost exclusively marketed as "power gamer" systems for home use. I should see if there's some way to figure out which specific Dell products do this so they can be avoided.
Fortunately it seems Windows 7 Pro edition software does not care if I use the OEM key from the sticker, so I typed that in and it activated.
(Great, one weird machine that has to be treated specially from everything else we've got.)
Probably a question for Dell to answer. For whatever reason, Dell have not performed all the necessary OEM Activation (OA) configuration tasks on this machine, perhaps due to their manufacturing/marketing strategy for this model, or perhaps due to a defective
configuration pass in the factory. Perhaps the mainboard in this machine was repaired or replaced at some stage, and wasn't correctly re-configured. Only Dell can resolve the missing marker, since it requires OEM tools.
Activating using the COA sticker product key, doesn't depend on the marker being present.

  • Macbook pro auto shutdown

    my work need win7 system,so i get a win7 ultimate
recently i find out when i run some applications for 3~4 hours in win7 system,my macbook pro auto shutdown...even the power adapter is on,the battery still run out.
this never happened in my macbook pro before when i use leopard or XP system

Thanks for taking so much time in helping me.
    Just an update:
    2 loops/passes done - no errors.
Called up Digital Hub and talked to the technician, he says there are 3 possible problems:
    1. Battery (which is still inside the laptop) may cause some disturbances with the electric current
    2. Software related - most likely re-formatting may be needed
    3. Video card may have failed, which means complete change of the logic board ----> worst case
I'm crossing my fingers that it's either of the first two.

  • Windows 8.1-Office 2010 Product Activation Failed

I've tried suggested fixes from other posts, but haven't been able to resolve this issue...we recently purchased several Dell Venue 11 Pro tablets with Win 8.1 Pro. MS Office Professional Plus 2010 installs fine, but within a short time we get a 'product
activation failed' message in all Office programs. After inputting the MAK activation code, it seems to accept it and goes through finishing installation (which I found odd), but after shutting down the program and restarting and even rebooting the computer,
the "Product Activation Failed" message reappears. I have tried numerous times and even went through the telephone activation which seems to complete successfully without error, but does not clear the failed message. I have attempted running the
activation wizard as the network admin too, to no avail.
We use this version of Office 2010 on XP, Vista and 7 workstations with no issues; only issue is on Win 8.1 devices.
Any assistance or advice is appreciated.
