Fonts aren't shown correct in Flashpaper

My company provides a macromedia coldfusion mx7
applicationserver based on linux (Debian Sarge, 3.1). Our
application uses the Adobe Flashpaper for printpreviews. My problem
is, that only one fonttype is generated correctly in this
flashpaper - that's arial - and all the other fonts like Courier
New, Comic Sans, Times new roman, tahoma, Verdana etc. are shown
with the same unidentifyable font (shown font looks similar to
times new roman fonttype).
*)I've tried the technical documentation of coldfusion for
font-configuration at a linux box - configuration was successful -
but fonts didn't work after that procedure. (documentation of
coldfusion provide following link for that:
http://corefonts.sourceforge.net/)
*)i've added these fonts to the font-management of coldfusion
- but no change
*)i've installed coldfusion mx7 on a windows xp installation,
without a modification of the existing fonttypes - and there all
the fonttypes are printed correctly.
See following link for some screenshots of my problem:
Fonttypes
so my question - how can i check, which fonttypes are
provided for flashpaper?
What have i done wrong - where can i configure these
fonttypes?
Does an other thread exist for this problem?
i would be very happy, when someone could help me with this
problem.
Nice regards, Andreas

Flashpaper. Debian is not a supported or tested platform for
ColdFusion. Perhaps it is just an incompatibility with the OS or
version. Your company should consider working on a supported
platform -
http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/productinfo/systemreqs/
I've tried with SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 too, because
this os is supported (i haven't written this into my text). But
with this os i have totally same effect.

  • Some fonts are not shown correctly in LabVIEW 2012

    I found a bug related with fonts in LabVIEW2012 f3 KR.
    - When I select NI7SEG in font selection dialog, right font is not shown in the example box.
    - Draw text at point.vi shows same problem for some fonts while other fonts are working.
    I reported it to Korean NI. As far as I know, this was not reported in previous versions and I couldn't find any related documents in Google.
    So, here I would like to know whether it is related with only Korean version. Please let me know if English version is OK.
    * OS: Windows 7 32bit KR

    Just now, I installed LabVIEW 2012 f3 (32-bit, English) and checked for the issue. But the font(NI7SEG) was not shown properly in VI either.
    - Both of Korea and English version of LabVIEW 2012 on Win 7 Korea OS shows wrong results. It is same on 64-bit OS.
    - LabVIEW 2010 but on same PC shows correct fonts.
    Is there a limit of number of fonts in LabVIEW? There are more than 100 fonts are shown in the "Selection Font" dialog and I can divide them into 3 groups by sequential order. I find that all fonts in the 3rd group are not applied correctly.
    (1st group)
    Arial Unicode MS...
    Bookshelf Symbol 3....
    Windings 3
    (2nd group)
    @Arial Unicode MS...
    @Terminal
    (3rd group)
    Arial...
    Consolas...
    Courier...

  • My fonts aren't previewing correctly in Font Book

    For some reason I have random fonts in Font Book that aren't previewing correctly.  This has not always been the case but for some reason recently it is.  I have tried clearing my font cache, etc. without any success.  Thoughts?

    Hello, installed any new fonts lately?
    Did you Validate all fonts in Font Book & check for duplicates?

  • Fonts aren't displaying correctly

    Occasionally, I see text rendered in mashed up mathematical fractions instead of the copy that should be there. It's only certain words or sentences rather than the whole page... say in Safari on certain web pages. But today, I was buying an iTunes gift certificate and after signing in, they show you the certificate to approve before actually buying it. The content on the certificate that should have shown my recipient, message and the actual purchasing code was illegible. (See attached screen grabs.)
    I've looked in the preferences to see if there was a font setting I could change, but found no way to even identify the font the app is using, much less change it. Another discussion from 2005 mentioned dumping the font cache from the user library and restarting, but there was no file there that matched the name they suggested, so I just tried restarting my machine... but still have the same result from iTunes.
    Did a system font get corrupted? Any ideas?
    Here is another grab from a web page in Safari... it actually looks a little like Cambodian script!

    Nailed it. Thanks Tom. But now my iTunes certificate looks like this:
    My system is inserting the "Lastresort" font. I can see it's a latin block, but I can't enlarge the image enough to discern the codes in the borders. Does this mean a system font has been disabled or deleted some how?
    Thanks so much for your help!

  • Font aren't printing correctly

    My fonts quit printing in Freehand MX so I upgraded to
    MX11.0.2
    Still wont print. All font print our fine in other
    programs

    Using FreeHand 11.0.2 and Mac OS 10.5.6, some fonts weren't
    printing for me to my HP LaserJet 4100n. Printing to PDF via
    Distiller 9 or the system usually worked OK. After trying many
    different experiments (i.e. tearing my hair out), I came upon
    something that worked. I put the fonts I wanted into the
    /Library/Fonts folder. The permissions of those fonts were set to:
    me = read and write
    staff = read only
    everyone = read only
    I opened the info window for those fonts, unlocked the
    padlock, and changed the permissions to:
    me = read and write
    admin = read only (this had to me manually added using the
    "+" sign
    everyone = read only
    I deleted the permissions for "staff", though I'm not certain
    this was required. Locked the padlock, closed the info window, and
    so far they are printing happily. It's important that all of the
    permissions for the system be set correctly, so using Disk Utility
    to verify and repair them is also a good idea. That won't fix the
    permissions for an individual font file, so you have to do it
    manually.

  • ARIAL FONT IN REPORTS(WINDOWS), NOT SHOWN CORRECTLY UNDER LINUX

    Our Reports are developed under Windows (Report Builder 9.0.4.0.33 and Windows 2000/Windows XP) and generated under Linux (IAS 10.1.2.0.2 with Red Hat Advanced Server). The Report Output is a PDF, that will be downloaded by the user with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. This works fine, but fonts are not shown correctly in the PDF, especially ARIAL, which is the font we use.
    I have run the Fontsolution Configuration Script from Metalink, but we still have a problem.
    When you look at the font.pdf, wich is the testreport from fontsolutions, some sizes and styles of Arial are printed correctly others not.
    Arial 8 is ok, but Arial 10 and Arial 12 are something like Times New Roman.
    Arial 12 Bolded is correct, but Arial 12 italic and Arial 12 bold italic are also not
    the Arial Font.
    How can we correct this problem?
    Regards
    Udo

    # The <Face> must be the name (string/identifier) of a font face. The

    # value or a predefined identifier/string. For example, both US7ASCII

    # Styles may be combined; you can use plus ("+") to delimit parts of a
    # style. For example,
    # Arial..Italic+Overstrike = Helvetica.12.Italic.Bold
    # are equivalent, and either one will map any Arial that has both Italic
    # and Overstrike styles to a 12-point, bold, italic Helvetica font.
    # All strings are case-insensitive in mapping. Font faces are likely to
    # be case-sensitive on lookup, depending on the platform and surface, so
    # care should be taken with names used on the right-hand side; but they

    # If you have entries for a same font in many PDF sections, then Font

    # helvetica Italic and helvetica Bold-Italic fonts, your entries must be:
    # [ PDF:Subset ]
    # helvetica..Italic.Bold.. = "Arialbi.ttf"
    # helvetica...Bold.. = "Arialb.ttf"
    # helvetica..Italic... = "Ariali.ttf"
    # helvetica..... = "Arial.ttf"
    # If helvetica..... entry appears in the top of the list, all the styles of
    # helvetica font in the layout will be subset as helvetica Plain font.

    If you want to make platform independent use of fonts, you have to use the family, such as sans serif.
    Arial is owned by monotype (http://monotype.com/). You have to contact them if you wish to redistribute it with your application. They also might have a suitable version that renders nicely under linux.

  • Some fonts aren't working in Pages

    I type in characters, then select them, then try to change the font, either in the Fonts window, or in the font chooser above the text area in the Pages document window, certain fonts aren't available. I have the full families for two Adobe fonts for high-end typesetting, Adobe Garamond and Adobe Caslon. If I choose the regular typeface for either Garamond or Caslon, the characters are shown correctly. If, however, I choose Garamond Expert (which has very small capital letters and old-fashioned numerals) or Caslon Ornaments (which has elaborate decorative elements) the characters are shown in a generic default font. Weirdly, the fonts are displayed properly in the pull-down list of fonts in the font chooser. Even more weirdly, if I type a bunch of text in Pages, then select the text, then choose Garamond Expert Collection or Caslon Ornaments, then copy that text, then paste it into TextEdit ...it shows up properly, set in either of the two typefaces.
    I've created a template for producing a full book using Pages, but I need those typefaces for professional-looking typography. Does anyone have any clues for how to get Pages to properly implement those fonts?
    I have verified disk permissions, validated the fonts, etc....

    TrueType, ugh! Apple's gift to Microsoft and its curse on designers.
    Sounds like you converted them with the old character mapping intact and that is the source of the problem.
    Update them if you can to the modern Unicode format in .otf
    I use Font XChange for all my conversions, it cleans up nearly all issues.

  • Embedded Fonts are not shown anymore

    When I create a PDF from a Word Doc, the embedded Fonts are not shown anymore. In the previous Version it was working perfectly. My version is currently 11.0.10.

    Thank you for your feedback. The Job im using is simple take a word document converting it into a pdf format. If this is done I will see it in my Acrobat view. There is no fonts at all. The System is notifying me that the font "ETBFGYI+DIN-Regular" are not embedded. And there will be some character not shown or printed correctly. I didn't change anything on the setting of Acrobat. I'm using this Acrobat almost for 2 years and I never had any problem. The Problem came up after the last update of the software to version 11.01.10.

  • Some Language fonts no longer display correctly

    I have a few language fonts, specifically Russian and Church Slavonic, which I have been using for years without any problem. They still partially display correctly, but there are some characters which display a different character now. For instance, in the Church Slavonic font, there are many characters with diacritical markings, where those accents etc. are typed after the character and backed up over the character. They are not displaying correctly anymore. Plain Russian fonts as well have certain characters that aren't even recognized now. I am using PopChar Pro, and though they display correctly in its list, when I click on them, the wrong character is display in the text. Does this have something to do with Unicode? I use these fonts mostly in MS Word and Finale.
    Thanks for any help on this topic.
    Sima

    Yes, it is true that these fonts do not display
    correctly in Finale.
    Last I checked Finale could not do Unicode, so it may be another problem. If it can do Unicode, you should be able to use Lucida Grande and the Russian keyboard layout. If not, you should be able to use a font with CY after the name with the Russian keyboard. You might want to ask in the Finale forums:
    http://forum.makemusic.com/
    Is there any sort of application
    that can fix old fonts to be Unicode compatible?
    It would be very complex I think and require an expensive font editing program like FontLab.
    On another note, are you aware of whether Unicode
    includes Church Slavonic (I suppose it would be in
    the same category as Old Slavonic)?
    Yes, it does. Just look at the Cyrillic block in Character Palette. Or here:
    http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0400.pdf
    However you won't find all glyph variations -- that will depend on the font. For an example of Slavonic Unicode you can see the last item on this page:

  • How to make Chiese Char's shown correctly in Pie Chart of BEx?

    Anyone know how to configure the BEx in WAD to make the Chinese description shown correctly in Pie Chart? Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Best Regards,

    Dear Gerald,
    please make sure that you have to configure a font for the IGS that supports the desired characters.
    Dependant on your scenario you must maintain the xmlchart or gfwchart configuration files. I would maintain both files.
    Please refer to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/531668">531668</a> for the xmlchart and to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/596825">596825</a> for the gfwchart configuration file.
    Best regards

  • Bug? My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future.

    My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future even though I can see them on the month, week and day view. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I've tried it all. I called the apple support and they checked on their iPads. They all did the same and they couldn't help me. They suggested trying this way. I'd like to be able to plan a few years ahead and the year view would make thing so easy!
    Is this a bug?

    Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
    Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Bug in details view: index columns not shown correctly, stops at 4th column

    I do have two indices on a table which are shown in the details view. In the column 'columns' only the first 4 columns are shown that belong to the index.
    If I choose an index in another detail view, all columns are shown correctly.
    Where to report this bug?

    I just realized this was an issue today.
    Once one knows that only 4 columns are shown in the summary and that you have to click on the index name for any index that shows 4 columns to see if there are more, well that extra click is pretty simple and not a big deal.
    The problem is BEFORE one knows of this. For weeks, when reviewing some indexes created by others, I was under the wrong impression about some indexes because I thought they only had the 4 columns shown. I didn't know at that time that I had to select the index and look at the detail section.
    It wasn't until I just happened to click on one of them and saw more columns listed that I realized there was a bug. And yes, as far as I'm concerned, this is a bug not a feature.
    At an absolute minimum, there should be something done so users know they have to look at the details. Perhaps the heading could be changed to "Columns (up to 4)" or the ellipsis or (more) could be added as someone else suggested. Even just an additional comma would help. I can't imagine why it was written to stop at 4 anyway - why does that make any sense?
    This is the first time I've come to this forum so I'm not sure how to request an enhancement. I'll read a few other threads and see if I can tell.

  • The maximize/minimize and close and buttons are not shown correctly when FF windows is maximized.

    I have the same problem on all my computers, one running Windows 7 and two with Vista.
    The three buttons in the upper right corner of the FF windows are not shown correctly. They are soft of cut off in the middle when the FF window is maximized.

    It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.<br />
    Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
    If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.<br />

  • Gray image not shown correctly in photo app

    Hi, in my iphone App, I create a Gray CGImage. Some code is here:
    colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceGray();
    if (colorSpace == NULL)
    fprintf(stderr, "Error allocating color space\n");
    return NULL;
    CGDataProviderRef dataProvider =
    CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL,
    myimagebuffer,
    bitmapByteCount,
    NULL);
    CGImageRef cgImage = CGImageCreate(col,
    row,
    8,
    8,
    col,
    colorSpace,
    kCGImageAlphaNone,
    dataProvider,
    NULL,
    false,
    kCGRenderingIntentDefault);
    And then I use this CGImage to make a UIImage. This image shows OK in UIImageView. I also use UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum to save this gray scale image to photo album. But when I open iphone native Photo app, this image is not shown correctly.
    Anyone has the same experience?
    Thanks,

    Because I am sure other people will encounter this issue, I will post the solution here...The issue lies in what program is associated with .bmp files. In my specific case the customer had PhotoSuite 4 by Roxio associated with opening bmp files.  I am not sure exactly why (perhaps it doesn't support drag-and-drop?) but if you create a .reg file and import this it should fix the problem. • Kazakh characters not shown correctly in BO reports

    Context :
    While doing a project in KZ we make use of Business objects (BO XI R3 SP1) to generate reporting.
    The language used for the reporting is Russian, but some client identification data of the company, which contains Kazakh characters,  should be shown in the reports.
    Problem :
    KZ characters are not shown correctly in the BO reports  (majority of time '?' is shown)
    Details :
    As I understand BO doesn't support the KZ language.  We get the following message  (CS : invalid native charset).
    NLS_LANG :  Russian : .CL8MSWIN1251  --> works
    NLS_LANG :  Kazakh : .CL8RK1048  -->  not supported by BO.  (This is though supported by the Oracle client and functions when we use SQL Plus)
    Is there a workaround available to show KZ characters correctly in BO  ?
