Fonts disappear in FCP

I just installed a new font to use on a title sequence. I installed it on the system using Font Book. It's in Font Book. But when I look for it inside the title properties in FCP, it's not there! It's not even listed!
Does anyone know how to fix this problem??
Thanks in advance.

Go to CNET and Downloads .coms and search PC to Mac Font, and Font Conversion Macintosh etc. I'll bet you'll find something that might work... I used them years ago with success.
Google around, I'll bet there's a free or inexpensive utility you can get over the Internet. Use the words font and mac or macintosh in all the searches.

  • Files and fonts disappear when I render

My motion 3 files look fine when I drop them into the FCP timeline but when I render, the fonts disappear and images are just black.
I had a previous problem (never solved) where the rendered file would be green but this would resolve itself when I output through compressor. However this problem remains.
I'm working in DV pal with my original video and the motion files. The motion files are originated in motion and dropped in the timeline.
I can't simply export the motion file as a DV pal file because the same problem occurs.

    1. Try an alternative font, possible it is corrupt.
    2. When you say you can not export the file it implies issue is with Motion and not FCP.
    3. Trash motion Pref's

  • Word doc. to PDF - title page font disappears plz help

    I had created a US word document (standard 8 1/2' x 11') with a cover page.
The cover page has a black background and white font.
I pdf'd the material and printed it out no problem.
When I converted the US document to UK (A4 paper size) and pdf'd it the white font disappeared from the cover page (only when pdf'd).
    So...
In the US word document it appears - when it goes to pdf  everything is gold!
In the UK word document it appears - when it goes to pdf it's gone.
If anyone has any helpful information it would be greatly appreciated.
I am desperately trying to finish this project.
    Thank you so much,
    Stacey

  • Text transitions and fonts disappear on iPad

I created a Keynote Presentation with text transitions and sans serif fonts. When i emailed it to iPad, the text transitions and fonts disappeared. It also viewed it as pdf attachment. The Keynote presentation was created on Apple desktop on iOS X 10.8.4 and saved down as Keynote presentation. Why does it destroy the text transitions and fonts when brought into iPad. The iPad does not have Keynote installed.

  • Fonts disappear/reappear; or none at all; messed up [SOLVED]

    Hello,
Got a fresh Arch install running here, pretty sure I entered all the commands the right way, but am now baffled by the fonts and their setup. Basically, in a nut shell: sometimes the fonts show up and sometimes they don't!
    Some font details:
*Fonts might not appear in the browser address bar at times
*a few of my bookmark titles won't show up (I imported a long list of bookmarks [which I know work] from the last Linux rig)
*fonts disappear and reappear while reading lines in the Terminal
*half of the fonts don't appear when looking at old paperwork in LibreOffice, (some of them are also blurry)
    Some system details:
    *Installed "ttf-dejavu"
*have Xfce4 and Openbox and have the same font issues when switched into either one of them
Excuse my lack of technical details, will provide more upon request, if necessary.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

You are almost correct. You should not make the change in the pacman.log file.
You should have created a file in directory "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d".
The name of that file should be "20-intel.conf".
The contents of that file should be:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Intel Graphics"
    Driver "intel"
    #Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
    Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
    #Option "AccelMethod" "glamor"
    EndSection

  • Installed typekit fonts disappear in InDesign after restart.

Everytime I restart my mac, which is every day, the installed typekit fonts disappear from the font list. They are still showing up in CC desktop (which was just updated). The only way I've been able to get them back is to remove them and then go get them again. This is very discouraging and I hope the bug gets fixed soon.

    Hi lemoos,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Would you please send your recent sync log files to [email protected] so that we can look into the problem?
    Thank you,

    On OS X:
    * Open the Finder
    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
(Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
    On Windows:
    C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • Font Compatibility between FCP and Adobe After Effects

    Hello.
I've got an issue with my fonts...
    I've got 4 places where I can put them (Library/Fonts ; System/Library/Fonts ; Users/Library/Fonts ; Network/Library/Fonts (a network Library I made working with a SAN)).
    I've got at least 4 kind of fonts (DFONT:Datafork TrueType font ; FFIL:Font Suitcase ; OTF:OpenType font ; TTF:Windows TrueType font).
I'm working with networked home directories.
My question is : What I have got to use for my fonts been recognised In both Final Cut Pro and After Effects (Adobe software in general).
With all of my 4 folders I've got about 100 fonts. In FCP an AFX I can see about 35 fonts and only 27 in common. This 27 are in differents folder and are different type.
    I'm getting mad.
    Help me

Of course I should, but the shared Library is made for "I put a font in one place and it can be used by anyone of my network".
It doesn't matter, I found the answer myself. The TTF one works, but the name isn't the same : In Apple world, the font got the font's file's name, in Adobe's world, the font got the font's family's name + font's style (like bold) (and both can't be change...)
    Thx
    Bye

  • Installed Mountain Lion: Fonts Disappeared In Photoshop But OK In Word

Installed Mountain Lion yesterday. Install went OK.
Was surprised to find a Parallels helper app in Incompatible Software folder, no big deal. May need to reinstall Authentec Truesuite for fingerprint reader but am quite surprised to see my hundreds of fonts disappear from Adobe Photoshop CS6 when I launched it in ML OS10.8 . Any ideas on how to recover the fonts?
The interesting thing is the fonts are all there in Microsoft Word. Thanks.
    Imran

Even though you can access the outside world via Ethernet cable, you should be able to use wifi - I had no problems when I upgraded.
Try taking your question to the Mountain Lion forum and see if any users there are experiencing similar problems.

Any more information? Does this always happen? Sometimes?
Does it depend on the font used in Eclipse?
Does it depend on the Eclipse theme used?

  • Photoshop fonts ugly in FCP

I know the answer to this has to have been posted about a hundred times, but I can't find it after searching forever. I've made a slate in PS CS, just a blue background with a person's headshot and 4 lines of text (name, email, phone & website). When I created the slide, I used the preset NTSC DV 720x480. After creating it, the fonts look fine in PS. I save it out (tried as a .tif, a .jpg and a .psd) and imported it into FCP (Version 5.0.4). When I drag the slide into the timeline, the fonts are all jagged and ugly. When I drag the slide into the Viewer window, it looks perfect. (?) I must not be saving it out of PS correctly. What settings do I need to use?
    Quicksilver G4 Dual 800   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Are you seeing this AFTER you render the PS file in the Timeline while viewing on an external TV monitor? FCP's Canvas window only shows a proxy output to save system resources - don't judge quality with that alone.

  • Newest upgrade: Why have my websafe fonts disappeared?

I just upgraded to the Feb. release of Muse and my own websafe fonts have all disappeared. Why? What happened?
Sigh... I wish I had known this would happen; I wouldn't have upgraded so quickly.

    Hi,
Kindly refer to the below link:

  • All fonts disappearing from menu?

Has anyone else observed this irritating behaviour?
After a variable amount of running time all the fonts in my font menu become "white-on-white" and thus effectively disappear.  The same applies to the variants (bold, regular, italic, etc.).
The fonts are still there -- if you click on one the menu disappears and the font shows up in the proper place and the text is the correct font.  Of course that doesn't help much if you can't remember which font is represented by the blank space you are clicking on.
The only way I've found to remedy this problem is to quit and restart InDesign.
Does anyone have an explanation or a solution?

  • Virus Mac after upgrade - Fonts disappeared Devil in Dock

    Hi guys
Dont know if any of you can help with this problem.
I was installing a upgrade to my operating system from the apple website. There appears to be a virus on my system.
There is a Devil in my dock, and all my fonts have disappeared. Dont know where to start with fixing this problem. Installed Virus software, but we cant even read the text in the program.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Colin

Hi Colin! And Welcome To Discussions!
    What upgrade were you installing?
Please explain a Devil in my dock.
What do you mean that your fonts have disappeared? Are they no longer in their folders, or are you not seeing any text?
What size is your Hard Drive, and how much space is available?
How much RAM is installed, and is it original or added?
    Have you run Repair Disk?
THESE ARE THE STEPS FOR USING DISK UTILITY TO REPAIR YOUR HD
1.Insert your Mac OS X CD-ROM disc or Restore DVD disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2.Once started up from CD or DVD, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from disc to access Disk Utility.
    3.Click the First Aid tab.
4.Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5.Select your Mac OS X volume, if necessary.
6.Click Repair. If DU reports errors it has fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported.
7.When finished, select Quit Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
8.Select Quit Installer from the Installer menu.
9.In the resulting pop-up window, choose restart.
10.After the computer has restarted, you can eject the CD.
    Good Luck!

  • Fonts disappear on export

    I'm pulling my hair out…
I'm using Flash CS5 to export an interface to a .mov file.
After days of everything working, suddenly none of my text shows up in my exports (.mov / .swf / anything)
Everything appears normal in the .fla file.
Let me be clear, everything was working. Then I literally added a few frames to extend the timeline of a graphic symbol. Then ALL OF MY TEXT DISAPPEARED ON EXPORT. This is on my own machine. I have all the fonts installed, so there shouldn't be a missing font issue, and I receive no warnings saying that my fonts are missing.
I messed around with font choices and replaced them with other versions. I also tried embedded all my fonts. NOTHING WORKS.
At some point in time I thought I had it solved. I exported a functional .mov only to find hours later that the text disappeared on export again.
What is going on? I cannot save down to CS4 because the TLF to classic font conversion will screw everything up.
This is a simple export. I've done this before.
This is unacceptable. I have a deadline to meet and this is the 2nd time CS5 has me chasing my tail.
    Any help?
Anyone else having the same issue?

You can always download a trial copy of CS5.5 to see if your issue goes away. When I upgraded from CS4 to CS5 I noticed a huge bump in text quality and overall AS2 stability. I have no idea why. CS5.5 had just as much of a bump.
I'm not saying it's a good fix, but if it's a deadline, whatever works..
Also make sure you're not exporting over a network. Adobe has always been so sketchy about that.
Lastly in a last ditch effort, close down all apps, reboot, restart ONLY flash and let it try to export to rule out any other app conflicts.
