Fonts disappear on export

I'm pulling my hair out…
I'm using Flash CS5 to export an interface to a .mov file.
After days of everything working, suddenly none of my text shows up in my exports (.mov / .swf / anything)
Everything appears normal in the .fla file.
Let me be clear, everything was working. Then I literally added a few frames to extend the timeline of a graphic symbol. Then ALL OF MY TEXT DISAPPEARED ON EXPORT. This is on my own machine. I have all the fonts installed, so there shouldn't be a missing font issue, and I receive no warnings saying that my fonts are missing.
I messed around with font choices and replaced them with other versions. I also tried embedded all my fonts. NOTHING WORKS.
At some point in time I thought I had it solved. I exported a functional .mov only to find hours later that the text disappeared on export again.
What is going on? I cannot save down to CS4 because the TLF to classic font conversion will screw everything up.
This is a simple export. I've done this before.
This is unacceptable. I have a deadline to meet and this is the 2nd time CS5 has me chasing my tail.
Any help?
Anyone else having the same issue?

You can always download a trial copy of CS5.5 to see if your issue goes away. When I upgraded from CS4 to CS5 I noticed a huge bump in text quality and overall AS2 stability. I have no idea why. CS5.5 had just as much of a bump.
I'm not saying it's a good fix, but if it's a deadline, whatever works..
Also make sure you're not exporting over a network. Adobe has always been so sketchy about that.
Lastly in a last ditch effort, close down all apps, reboot, restart ONLY flash and let it try to export to rule out any other app conflicts.

  • Files and fonts disappear when I render

My motion 3 files look fine when I drop them into the FCP timeline but when I render, the fonts disappear and images are just black.
I had a previous problem (never solved) where the rendered file would be green but this would resolve itself when I output through compressor. However this problem remains.
I'm working in DV pal with my original video and the motion files. The motion files are originated in motion and dropped in the timeline.
I can't simply export the motion file as a DV pal file because the same problem occurs.

    1. Try an alternative font, possible it is corrupt.
    2. When you say you can not export the file it implies issue is with Motion and not FCP.
    3. Trash motion Pref's

  • Word doc. to PDF - title page font disappears plz help

    I had created a US word document (standard 8 1/2' x 11') with a cover page.
The cover page has a black background and white font.
I pdf'd the material and printed it out no problem.
When I converted the US document to UK (A4 paper size) and pdf'd it the white font disappeared from the cover page (only when pdf'd).
    So...
In the US word document it appears - when it goes to pdf  everything is gold!
In the UK word document it appears - when it goes to pdf it's gone.
If anyone has any helpful information it would be greatly appreciated.
I am desperately trying to finish this project.
    Thank you so much,

What version of Acrobat? What OS? How did you create the pdf (using the pdfmaker, printing to Adobe PDF, printing to a postscript file and Distilling, using the Microsoft PDF creator plug-in?

  • Font error when exporting PDF

Just exported my file from InDesign to check the PDF before sending it to the printer. Getting message "Cannot extract the embedded font 'CDGLWI+Optima-Bold'. Some characters may not diplay or print correctly."
I saw thread about emailed files garbling, but this is on my own computer.
File uses all optima fonts and none are showing correctly in the PDF. Find Font in InDesign doesn't show a problem and nor does Font Book when I validate the font files. Using In Design CS4 and OS 10.6.5.
    Ideas?

Apparently a font can have a problem or perhaps something in the conversion to PDF has a problem with that font that Font Book doesn't see. After replacing font it now exports to PDF just fine.

  • Font issue in exported PDF from indesign

Font issue in exported PDF from indesign:
In Indesign file we have kept a sentence in “Univers LT Std” (San serif font) with all caps style that was orginally in lower case. Refer below
When we selected the sentence in exported PDF some of the characters are not selected. Refer below.
If we enable “create tagged PDF“ in export PDF setting, then the problem is solved. Refer below.
Can you please check why this problem happened? In another project also we have faced this same problem but different font “Frutiger LT Std” with all caps style. Here also same San serif font. Please check and advise to solve this issue permanently.

Without tags a PDF is a silly amount of letters, images and lines, with tags all itams a kept in their semantic context. So work with tags as it is the only way to get correct selections and export to other file types like Word DOCX.
Without tags InDesign reads from left to right from top to bottom and the font geometry might influence the correct order of letters.
Why should anyone work without tags today? If you open a tagged PDF in Acrobat DC it is much faster than without tags.

  • Text transitions and fonts disappear on iPad

I created a Keynote Presentation with text transitions and sans serif fonts. When i emailed it to iPad, the text transitions and fonts disappeared. It also viewed it as pdf attachment. The Keynote presentation was created on Apple desktop on iOS X 10.8.4 and saved down as Keynote presentation. Why does it destroy the text transitions and fonts when brought into iPad. The iPad does not have Keynote installed.

  • Fonts disappear/reappear; or none at all; messed up [SOLVED]

    Hello,
Got a fresh Arch install running here, pretty sure I entered all the commands the right way, but am now baffled by the fonts and their setup. Basically, in a nut shell: sometimes the fonts show up and sometimes they don't!
    Some font details:
*Fonts might not appear in the browser address bar at times
*a few of my bookmark titles won't show up (I imported a long list of bookmarks [which I know work] from the last Linux rig)
*fonts disappear and reappear while reading lines in the Terminal
*half of the fonts don't appear when looking at old paperwork in LibreOffice, (some of them are also blurry)
    Some system details:
    *Installed "ttf-dejavu"
*have Xfce4 and Openbox and have the same font issues when switched into either one of them
Excuse my lack of technical details, will provide more upon request, if necessary.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

You are almost correct. You should not make the change in the pacman.log file.
You should have created a file in directory "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d".
The name of that file should be "20-intel.conf".
The contents of that file should be:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Intel Graphics"
    Driver "intel"
    #Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
    Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
    #Option "AccelMethod" "glamor"
    EndSection

  • Installed typekit fonts disappear in InDesign after restart.

Everytime I restart my mac, which is every day, the installed typekit fonts disappear from the font list. They are still showing up in CC desktop (which was just updated). The only way I've been able to get them back is to remove them and then go get them again. This is very discouraging and I hope the bug gets fixed soon.

    Hi lemoos,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. Would you please send your recent sync log files to [email protected] so that we can look into the problem?
    Thank you,

    On OS X:
    * Open the Finder
    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
(Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
    On Windows:
    C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • Export file disappears after exporting

    Export file disappears after exporting
Tried dataexport(calc script), report script, need du=ynamic calc members too..
    its urgent now....please help
But I have lots and lots of dynamic calc members...its huge...will take hours together to change...so I planned to make stored for only those members which are required in export file...but now...It seems that default calc is not getting executed... may be that happened because I changed few member properties...
Any thoguths why now dynamic calc is not working?
Thanks a lot for any help..its really urgent now...

Regardless of which limited export process you are using (dataexport calc script, report script, or MaxL/Esscmd export) I can't imagine the export file disappearing if it in fact gets written out at all.
As rinku wrote, if it's a true Esssbase export it's either in the app folder or where ever you wrote it with MaxL/Esscmd.
There are known issues with dynamic calc and dataexport. I've seen this myself and ultimately gave up on exporting the dynamic members. Yes, your changes could cause your exising aggregation scripts to give different results.
    How about this:
    1) Reduce scope of export process and remove dynamically calculated Accounts/Periods (a guess on my part, but likely right)
    2) Export to known location (app folder under Essbase folder or some server-addressable folder). Btw, how are you doing the export? It wasn't clear from your post, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
    3) See if that works, and if so, expand until failure. That will tell you what is and isn't going to work.

  • Installed Mountain Lion: Fonts Disappeared In Photoshop But OK In Word

Installed Mountain Lion yesterday. Install went OK.
Was surprised to find a Parallels helper app in Incompatible Software folder, no big deal. May need to reinstall Authentec Truesuite for fingerprint reader but am quite surprised to see my hundreds of fonts disappear from Adobe Photoshop CS6 when I launched it in ML OS10.8 . Any ideas on how to recover the fonts?
The interesting thing is the fonts are all there in Microsoft Word. Thanks.
    Imran

Even though you can access the outside world via Ethernet cable, you should be able to use wifi - I had no problems when I upgraded.
Try taking your question to the Mountain Lion forum and see if any users there are experiencing similar problems.

    from Peter ([email protected])

Any more information? Does this always happen? Sometimes?
Does it depend on the font used in Eclipse?
Does it depend on the Eclipse theme used?
What distro/version of Linux are you using? What window manager?

  • One font turns bold and one disappears on export to PDF?

    Hello
Why is it that when I'm export a particular InDesign file to PDF, one frame of text (which has the exact same font and style as other text in the document) ... turns bold?
There is another, different font too, which completely disappears!

Like I said, the entire document uses the exact same font throughout without glitches, so there is no logical reason for a little bit of it (at the bottom of one page) to suddenly just decide to be "bold" when it's set to regular like the rest of the Lucinda GrandE!
The font looks a little tiny bit bold in Indesign, so that must be where the problem began..(but why?)
I included two pictures, as requested. One, shows how it is in InDesign, and the second as it is in the PDF, which appears much bolder.
I didn't have a "pdf export dialogue box", which keeps coming up in my research... just File-->'Document Presets' or 'Adobe PDF presets'
I have mine set to 'print quality'
InDesign (bottom line of text looks bold, but it is set to regular)

  • Picture disappears after exporting to Excel and saving.

    Afternoon,
I appologise if this question has been asked before, but I did try search past posts.
I am using CR4E, the latest version.
I have designed a report with a Logo in the Page Header. (JPG). If I export the report as a Excel Report (Page Based), the
    Picture is displayed as expected.
I can open and close the Excel Report as many times as I want and the picture remains. BUT as soon as I make a change to the
spreadsheet, and save, the Picture disappears.
I have tried using a BMP file, but still the same, I have tried having the picture in different sections but no luck.
If anyone has any ideas as to how I can keep the picture after saving the Excel version I would be greatly in your debt.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Morning,
I have managed to find a work around, although I am not 100% why it works but it does.
I was unable to find a solution to the problem using the Eclipse version of CR, but I found a version of CR2008 at the office, and
using that, inserted a OLE Object attached to my Logo (JPG) and placed this OLE object on the report. My original Picture of the logo was left in its correct placement.
With this OLE Object, it appears that I am not able to export the XLS file and then manipulate the spreadsheet and save as many times
as I wish and the logo remains.
The only issue I have with the OLE Object, and this is probably down to my lack of knowledge, is that the Object contains
a text reference to the file name "Company_Logo.jpg" and that it. It does not display the picture or anything but the text.
I am then unable to hide this text or change the colour of the font to "hide" it. What I have had to do is make the object as small
as possible and place it in the bottom right corner of the report and hope no one notices it
So as you can see my solution is not the greatest but it is working.
Krishnan, I tried you suggestion of moving it the picture object back and forward did not help, and then your File Export Options
idea is not possible in Eclipse Crystal Reports (not that I could find). What version of CR would you be refering to?
    Thanks for the suggestions/help.
    Cheers
    Darren

  • Pages '08, formatting disappears from exported times new roman text

I often work in Pages '08 with .doc files from colleagues. These invariably come in Times New Roman 12pt. When i export my files in word format, all formatting (bolds, italics etc.) has disappeared when they open the files on their own computers. If, however, I ask them to send back the file and opens it, the formatting is there. This seems to happen only when using Times New Roman, not i.e. Helvetica or (simply) Times. This is a very annoying bug, if that is what it is, which makes it hard to use Pages together with MS Word users. Anyone knows a way around this problem?

    G'day Jacob,
    Many thanks for your reply.
In  the end, I've gone with Minion Pro, which I feel has a clean look, and a certain style without being distracting to the detriment of the text's meaning.  And the text volume is very much the same as under Times New Roman.
So, how do people choose and categorise type?  Is there such a thing as a guide to type -- "Garamond gives an olde-worlde classical look, New Baskerville is New World Georgian" -- that sort of thing?  Yes, I realise it's broadly subjective, the feel that certain faces give, but aren't there some broad categorisations that can be made?  Or is it totally subjective, and up to the designer's mood and whim?
I imagine everyone has his favourite faces -- my own for standard text is Caxton, but the Bitstream version, which is narrower and sharper than the Adobe one -- but if you want to branch out from the ones you're already familiar with, is there a way that people can get a guide or choose for a project, other than simply trying different faces until they find one they like?

  • Font jaggies when exporting to pdf influenced by images on page

Typeface Century ATF BQ (Postscript Type 1 font) renders jagged on screen on some Keynote 3 exported .pdf pages and sharp and clean on others when viewed by Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 and to greater and lesser degrees on other Macs and PCs. When viewed on screen in Preview it looks sharp but fat everywhere. When printed from Acrobat Reader everything is sharp.
We did tests to figure out what was going on and found that if we removed a .gif image from the page the type rendered fine. We converted the .gif file to a .png file (we needed transparent background) and found the type jaggies returned. Tried to use .pdf format to achieve transparent background. The type looked sharp, but the image imported with a white background even though it showed up as transparent in Photoshop.
Anybody have workaround suggestions to get a silhouetted image to be placed on a Keynote page without jagging the type?
Anybody have any sense of what is going on?

The image is not overlapping the text.
It was orginally overlapping a jpg but I moved it and the problem persisted.
(Apple support system made me resubscribe to respond, hence the slightly different name)
