Fonts displaying at same size when they should be different sizes

I recently reinstalled Firefox after finding that Chrome was slowing down too much. I was interested mostly in having access to the LJlogin addon again, as I spend a lot of time on LJ with several different accounts. When I'd last had Firefox on my computer, I had it set to display all fonts as Times New Roman, but on reinstall I decided to let things go back to defaults on various sites (I believe LJ uses Verdana). But now, with the box checked for "allow pages to choose their own fonts", it's showing all the entry/comment text on LJ as the same size. Things that I know to be enclosed in a smallfont tag are the same size as unaltered text. It makes things rather confusing, so I'd appreciate any help with it.

Having checked 6 at random it seems that they are all roughly the same ie around 227 x 160-189 pixels, all 72dpi and all 8cms x6cm (give or take a mm here and there) yet some print 2/3rds the size of A4 and others approx 6cms long. There was one that 295 x 400 at 150dpi 5cm x 7cm and that printed only a quater of the image because it was so huge.
If it is that the pixel size or dpi overides the physical (cm ) size of the image how on earth can one determine what size they print off in real life. Also I see that if you simply chnage the dpi vale the image becomes distorted. Please excuse my ignorance but I just don't understand how the sizing works.

That's because you scanned them as B/W photos and iPhoto 08 doesn't support the grayscale color profile. You can either rescan them as color photos or export them as originals out of iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and applhy this Automator application, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB Profile, on them and then remimport into iPhoto. You can download it from Toad's Cellar . Be sure to read the warning on the website about not applying it on your only copies.

Add the corrected ones to your PS - PS contains only what was added to it - changes made are not applied to the PS - you have to re add the updated photos

I deleted emails from my windows emails and when I went into my pictures there was all my recently deleted items as pdf adobe files and I cannot right click and delete. But why would my deleted emails be going to my pictures in the first place. So i think it must be in how the adobe program is set up and need to know how to change the settings so my deleted emails are not sent to my pictures.I do not know what other details you would require?

I need to display the same page when an error occurs in the page. For example, I am validating a few fields in a page. If an error occurs, then same page is to be displayed.
I am presently using MVC type programming.

I usually use the Message class, for handling all possible validations. In the DO_HANDLE_DATA, do the validation, and if your validation fails, put your message in the message attribute available for that method. As you have not given a pointer to a new page, it will refresh that same page.
If your validation is successful, go to next page.
In the layout of this page(where you require validation), there is an attribute called page and it has get_message method. Call that method at the appropriate place in the layout.

Why is Apple rating games like Modern Combat 17 when they should be just 9 ?

Why is Apple making war games for kids like Modern Combat rated 17+ when they should be just 12+. I mean even the reviews are asking why. Apple, please fix this.

Since I installed Helvetica Black, all fonts display in bold, but when I uninstall it, they're fine again.

I've seen many other people having issues with all fonts displaying in bold with the latest Firefox update. For me, the update did nothing, but when I installed Helvetica Black to my computer, many fonts on the web show up in bold where they shouldn't.
I have no problems with any of my other Helvetica weights being installed, just Black.
As a graphic designer, I want to have the font, but I also want to see all the websites with the fonts they intended to use, rather than a default font. Is there any kind of add-on or fix I can use so that I can keep websites in their own fonts, AND have Helvetica Black installed?
Other details:
I have the latest Firefox.
I'm on Windows 7.
4 of my Helvetica weights are fine, the Black is not.

Hi there - I'm having similar bold text issues with a customer's instance of Firefox 5.0.1 running on Windows 7, Home Premium, SP1 on a Lenovo laptop. There are two issues to be exact:
# text that is supposed to be normal weight appears bold
# some text has an incorrect amount of spacing (padding/margin) around it
These symptoms appear only on this one machine and appears to be fine in Firefox 5.0.1 across at least 3 other machines running Win 7 as well as all other browsers (IE, Chrome, Safari) we've tested in across a variety of platforms.
I've attached an image with a side-by-side comparison of the normal view next to the broken view as it appears on this specific machine.
I've tried unchecking the hardware acceleration option and restarting Firefox - did not work.
I've also tried running Firefox in Windows XP compatibility mode (as suggested here: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/how-to/repair-the-google-and-gmail-bold-font-issue/) - did not work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Songs are not displayed in my ZEN when they have no Album T

i got the new Creative ZEN 4GB and a question:
I got some Songs which have no Album Tag. These Songs are not displayed in my Player. I have to go in the Folder of the Artist and then into Options and choose "View Tracks", then it is displayed, otherwise the list is empty.
Is this normal?
Most of the Songs are Single Tracks which dont belong to any Album. Do I have to add an "Unkwown" Tag to each of them to show up?
P.S. I think this browsing by Tags really sucks at all. Why cant I sort my files by the simple filename like I do it on my PC?! They should add this option.

I have the ZenV Plus, 2 gb and it lists the songs by Artist, by Album, by Genre and then it has a complete alphabetical list of the songs by title (All tracks). Don't you have this option uner your "Music Library"

Items grayed out when they should not be

I have some apps where files that should be available for opening are instead grayed out when they shouldn't be. They never used to be grayed out until recently, and they are a correct file type. (Open is set to "All files" not just the file extension, so it's not an oversight).
Which part of the OS is responsible for choosing what items will be available in a file list (i.e. not grayed out)? I'd like to rebuild it since it seems to be corrupted. Also my LaunchServices seems to be messed up as well because some apps are not available for certain file types "Open With" when they ought to be. Terminal command? Disk Warrior? TinkerTool? Thanks.

Deauthorize Audible Account... always appears as a menu selection, even if you deauthorized Audible or never even had an account.
Audible is a different account from iTunes and does not require the same username / password.

Mailbox Names are Black (when they should be white)

The titles of the mailboxes in Mail are showing up black when selected, when they're normally white with the graphite background color. This just barely started happening after I reboot my machine.

Having issues with created PDFs requiring Japanese language font pack when they should not

Last week, I created 3 forms for someone. They wanted a fourth, so I put that together today, but halfway through making it, my Livecycle crashed and refused to load up again (I have NO idea why...), so I reinstalled it. I went on to finish making the form, but for some reason, even though the language settings is set to English and not viewer's default locale, the form requires a Japanese font pack. My computer is set to Japanese locale, but with the default language set to English, it should bypass this. The oddest thing is that one of the 3 forms that I already created and sent to them (and worked fine!!!), now also asks me for Japanese language font packs. What the heck is going on?
The forms use nothing other than Myriad Pro, which is set to be embedded. My Acrobat opens them all just fine and shows font properties correctly, but my Reader dies and asks for Japanese font packs. Please help, thank you!

This is a link to one of the 2 forms that is giving me trouble. It's simple, and was already created before my Acrobat reinstall, yet is now asking for Japanese fonts...
Edit: Forms were created using Livecycle Designer ES 2.5. I'm testing with Acrobat X and Reader X.

Ok, the form I linked, I actually only tested on my own machine, but had the Japanese font error so I assumed it held true for the new one as well. Here is the one I made today that has been tested on 4 computers (list below): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1910267/treatment_notes.pdf
These are the computers it was tested on:
My own computer (Windows 7, format/location set to English/US, default non-Unicode language Japanese, System Locale Japan) - pops up error in Reader X, but not Acrobat Pro X
These 3 computers are all set to complete English/US and do not have Acrobat:
The recipient's computer (not sure what OS, likely Reader X, no other languages installed) - popped up the error asking for Japanese fonts
My mother's computer (XP, Reader 9, I know it has Chinese installed, but I don't think it has Japanese) - no errors
My brother's computer (Vista, Reader 9, no other languages installed) - popped up the Japanese font error
And just for fun I tried on the HP Touchpad (Reader 10.3), but it just gives that error that it can't display the contents of the pdf. I think the WebOS port of Reader either is horribly incomplete somehow, or otherwise I have no idea.
I noticed the similar threads, but since they are unanswered, I thought I'd try again and see if I could get an answer. I've got my hands in the air at this point...

Tab scroll arrows are missing when they should be displayed.

I just got upgraded to FF32 because I'd failed to remember to disable updates following my latest clean install.
Now I don't have tab scroll arrows when there are enough tabs to need them.
This happens in a default profile as well as with my normal profile. In my normal profile I use many extensions such as Classic Theme Restorer and Tab Utilities.

It seem to me there was a reply here with boilerplate "start with extensions disabled, Safe Mode" info that was deleted.
It appears that in FF32, the Tab Utilities extension makes the tab scroll arrows vanish. Disable it they are present, enable it they go away.
Worked properly yesterday with FF 30. (I think it was 30. Don't recall upgrading to 31.)
