Fonts do not display after update

I just updated with the most recent release of Lion and now certain fonts do not show up on web sites and in some applications, including Apple's own iCal!
Can someone help!!

Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime to boot into Safe Mode. Keep holding the Shift key until you see a progress bar towards the bottom of the screen. You can let go of the Shift key at that point.
OS X asks you to log in (you will get this screen on a Safe Mode boot even if your Mac is set to automatically log in). Let the Mac finish booting to the desktop and then restart normally. This will clear Font Book's database and the cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode.
When back at the desktop from a normal startup, close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
sudo atsutil databases -remove
Terminal will then ask for your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and the current user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

I had updated to Adobe Muse CC 2014 just recently. The first few times I used it on my muse file, it was fine. This morning when I opened the file, the text boxes using Typekit fonts blew out of proportion. I have not edited the file at all, just opened it. My site is a mess. Any idea what happened? Pre-xorg7 font problems not fixed after update

Hello all,
After several trouble free years my fonts have gone down the shitter. No idea how or when this issue started, I think it must have been after a recent freetype upgrade.
Here are two screenies which show the problem:

Notice how font spacing is screwed in term and gvim and how window title has gone to shit.

OK - I found this part about bitmap fonts on the wiki:

By default, fontconfig 2.3.2-4 and higher will disable the use of bitmap fonts. This setting is managed in /etc/fonts/conf.d/10-no-bitmaps.conf, or in higher versions, /etc/fonts/conf.d/10-bitmaps.conf. To enable bitmap fonts and keep them enabled after upgrades of fontconfig, place a symlink from yes-bitmaps.conf to 10-bitmaps.conf, overwriting the symlink to no-bitmaps.conf.
That's a recent change my update was on 19th Feb - that has fixed vim/gvim and terms, window title prob persists

Items not displaying after update

At work we use a web based program for reporting bugs and things. This program is called FogBugz (I would give the URL but you wouldn't be able to visit it even if I did). On Friday I was using this page with no problem, firefox updated over the weekend and now it doesn't work as it should.
There is a feature on the page that allows you to enter text in either plain text or HTML (you get formatting options), now firefox no longer sees the option to swap between the 2 and is stuck on plain text mode.
What I did however was use firebug to inspect the element in firefox, then used chrome to inspect the same element (it displays correctly in chrome) and the results are as below:

As you can see there is a large difference between the 2, I love using firefox but this has meant that I can't use it to do my work properly. If you need any further information please do get back in touch I'm happy to help out in any way I can.

Maybe the server doesn't recognize the Firefox 10 version with two digits and assumes a Firefox 1 version that doesn't support that toolbar.
You can try to change the Firefox/10.0 to Firefox/9.0 in the user agent to see if that helps.

There have been reported some issues with the 5800 similar to yours, and it seems that the devices affected were devices where the enduser had changed the screen to an non-official one, and after the update the screen was not working like it should.
If you have done a non-official warranty voiding screen change to your device (yourself that would mean), youre for your self.
If that isn't the case, I'm sure it isn't, you will have to seek help at a Nokia care point if you've already done what you've written. The hard reset should wipe your phone memory and set your phone back to "basics". - No need of doing the factory reset move after doing a hard reset as it does less than the hard reset and nothing that the hard reset hasn't done.
Now it seems like you've updated through ota first and then tried to reinstall the fw again. then done a hard reset? - You will need to take it to a Nokia care point as there nothing more we can do for you.
There could be a hardware issue which has just occured at the same time doing the update.
Clicking the "contact us" tab at the top right of this page will lead you to the nearest care point!

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

Ok, I had the same issue, my phone is unlocked(iphone 5 with 6.1.3). So I went to the apple store and had it replaced. it worked good for a day and started doing the same thing. When the apple tech replaced my phone, he transfered my screen protector to the new one.
so I thought it was my sim card, I put in my sisters sim card from a different carrier and it did the same, so then I was like let me take off the screen protector, and that was it.
so guys, if you have a screen protector on your phone and it's doing "low signal", "No Service", "Searching", "Full bars cycle" then take off the screen protector. so far my phone is working normal.

This sounds more like a hardware issue.
Have you checked that the dock connector port is not dirty?

My 3G connection is not working after updating to iOS 6.1. I have tried all possible solutions like resetting the network, restarting the phone etc.
With this kind of bugs in every update, Apple will no more be THE Apple.
There are bugs which have not been fixed even in the subsequent updates. SMSs going blank being one of them.

I have since managed to sort mine out - when the phone was updated it wiped out the network settings.
I was able to reset them by manually putting the information in:
Settings - General - Cellular - Cellular Data Network and then I put in the correct details for APN, username and Password in the relevant sections and now it works OK.
Hopefully it will work for others too
