Fonts for Interstate highways in Maps look like picture symbols.
Mavericks 10.9.4. Using FontAgentPro.
Is there a font that has to be activated? Or even a conflicting font that has to be deactivated like in Chrome?

Validate your fonts using Font Book.
How to use Font Book to validate fonts
1. Open Font Book in your Applications folder.
2. Select All Fonts.
3. Now click in the list of fonts and select all (Edit > Select All).
4. Under File in the Menu bar, select Validate Fonts.
5. Duplicate fonts will be marked with either the yellow badge or a black dot.
6. Select to remove or delete duplicates.*
7. Delete font caches (how to)
8. Restart your computer
* Step 6 – remove or delete duplicates is where the tricky part comes in. You can select to let Font Book disable or remove duplicates, but I’ve found that it removes the one you have not been using rather than selecting the best option. See Font Management in OS X, by Kurt Lang, for more info on fonts.

I have signed out then back into the cloud. I have comfirmed location of the photostream folder. I have have even restored settings on my phone. any ideas on what I can do to get it working again? or do I have to accept defect, and manually save my photos?

You won't be able to put an app in iBooks. The only things you can put in iBooks are eBooks and PDFs. As far as narrowing down the list of possible apps, what ones have you looked at already when you searched the app store?

Podcast app bug on ipad (w retina): for some reason it freezes, looks like it is trying to refresh but has stopped downloading all podcasts

I'm using the latest ipad with retina display and love using the podcast app. Since last week the podcast app is acting strangely. It has stopped auto downloading the latest podcasts. It's not just one podcast but all of the ones I subscribe to. When I open the app it looks like it is refreshing with that little circle that keeps spinning but nothing happens - in fact the app freezes and it is hard to close. It freezes also when I try to delete podcasts. It frequently crashes too. I don't know what to do to help it work again. Any suggestions?

I haven't heard back regarding the problem I posted. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have a solution?

What does the AC Adapter for the WD My Cloud Look Like?

I have the WD My Cloud 3TB Part Number: WDBCTL0030HWT-00 I unplugged all my network equipment and went back to plug them in once everything was rearranged. But I have 2 AC to DC adapters that use the same plug, so I don't know which one is the right one. I personally think it is stupid not to put a WD logo on the AC adapter due to situations like this. But I usually mark these myself. I suppose I was in too much of a hurry to get it online to mark it this time. Nevertheless, I have two adapters, both produce 12 volts. I does 1.5A and the other does 1A. The one that outputs 12V & 1.5A is by Ktec: Model KSAS0241200150HU The one that outputs 12V & 1A is by Leader Electronics, Inc.: Model MT12-Y120100-A1 Anyone know which is the correct one? One (the 1.5A) would hang down from the wall socket while the other one (1A) shoots off to the side of it.

Does anyone else's maps look like this after iOS 7.1 on iPhone 4? Bug?

Notice the black search bar at the top. I'm sure it says Denver in there somewhere....
Here is how it looks when nothing is beings searched (ignore that it hasn't loaded yet...just notice the black search bar between the arrow and the bookmarks buttons).
I have only noticed this since updating to iOS 7.1. I don't have any weird accessibility settings enabled either- only reduce motion. I have a hard time thinking Apple envisioned this as a user-friendly map app...if you didn't know that search bar was there you would never know how to search.

Settings > Accessibility > Increase Contrast > Reduce transparency - set to OFF (white side showing)

When switched to Firefox, the font on my email and others looks like a print out froma printer low on ink. Some letters completely solid, some letters are light and dark. Reason? Solution?

Please be rest assured that we pay close attention to the posts on the Forum and we've monitored those related to the 6510. Improvements have been made to follow-on printer models. I agree that taking the printer apart isn't for the faint hearted, it can certainly be a tricky process.

I 've just installed Firefox for the first time (v9.0.1) & can't save any bookmarks. I don't get an error message & it looks like my bookmark saved but when I go in to look at my bookmarks, there are none there.

I'm also having trouble importing my favourites from IE. I've gone through the steps to Import Data for Another Browser and it looks like it has worked but when I go to view my bookmarks it is still empty.

New tab homepage and font for ff

my problem is that with new ff 5.0 i can set up an option which will open every new tab with my home page. with the old one it worked but when i was looking for a new add on looks like the old one hasn't been upgraded to the new ff 5.0. maybe i just dont know where to look ,so then pls give me some suggestion what should i do with this, or maybe you dont have this feature for ff 5.0, so then it is my suggestion to do this because it's one of the most important features while working with new tabs to have already a webpage which you want to work with instead of taping address every time you open a new tab!!
another thing is that somehow i changed font for the whole interface of ff and now somehow cant find where is this option where to change it again.. :( would you be so nice and help me to find this option again? font of wepage content is good. it's only about ff's interface like toolbars, the place where you type www address, bookmarks toolbar, font in name of open tabs)
it's definitely not the option in tools -> options -> content -> font!

Good font for blogs?

What would you guys recomment as a non-traditional font for a blog? I'd like something that's different from the rest and catches the eye, but I still want it to be easy to read.
Right now I think I'm using a version of Arial with a dark blue color (it looks black).

Serif fonts have more warmth and character to them than fonts like arial, helvetica, verdana which seem to best suit the design fields and e-commerce sites. For blogs where there is a lot of text, serif fonts can be better to read. My mouse preference pane does not look like Apple's

Just bought the Magic Mouse, and I like it. Would like to do some fine-tuning, though. On the apple.com there's a movie about the mouse, with a shot of the pref pane for mouse settings. It looks like this:

What am I missing? I have the latest system (10.7.4). The apple.com it says that I need Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0, so I tried Software Update but it says I'm up to date on everything.

Exactly. Secondary click is on, but locked to ctrl+click. I would like to modify this. The apple.com screen shot looks like it offers that option, but I might be wrong.
I ran my old Logitech through SteerMouse, which offers a world of options. Apple stuff usually don't need to, since they're right from the start, but in this case I'd really like some more options.

Security - pop up ads coming up on my mac - looking like it's mac security

Hello, pop up ads coming up on my mac -
For the first time in 4 years, My mac is getting ads (looking like mac windows) for 'anti'malware' and ads (looking like mac) saying that I have viruses and to download to erase them. I have seen this twice this week. It is NOT from mac protection (although it looks like your computer and HD). This is happening in firefox - what can I do to block this??? (i already have blocked suspicious sites, etc)?
I called Mac - they said this is malicious software and has been happening in the last 2 weeks - to not download anything (which I hadn't) and that they ask for a credit card number and download possible viruses.
I changed something in my system preferences in safari - but use firefox usually - is there anything I can do in safari to not get these??

Firefox would not automatically open a downloaded file that could start a software installation, as far as I know. The file would be saved and you would need to open it manually, as a Firefox user mentioned here:

You can do other things to keep safe online with Firefox, such as making sure all your plugins are up to date by visiting www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ and disable any plugins in Firefox that you aren't using, via "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" . See [[Troubleshooting plugins]] for more info.
If you already installed the malware, the [http://thenextweb.com/apple/2011/05/02/bogus-macdefender-malware-campaign-targets-mac-users-using-google-images/ first link I posted] explains how to remove it, which I've copied below.
Luckily, disabling and removing the bogus MacDefender application is easy. If you have been infected and want to make sure it no longer resides on your system, follow the steps below:
#To ensure you do not automatically download the app, uncheck the following: Safari > Preferences > General > uncheck “Open “safe” files after downloading”.
#Searching for the application and deleting it directly may fail, saying the app is in use. To stop it running, check Activity Monitor (in Applications > Utilities) and disable anything that relates to MacDefender.
#Look in /Library/StartupItems and, same place, LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons for references to the malware app.
#Once quit, head to the Applications folder and drag the MacDefender app to the trash, then delete trash.
#To ensure all references to the app are cleared, run a search using Spotlight and delete all MacDefender references you find.
The removal of the app is somewhat easier than on Windows, mainly thanks to the security of the Mac OS X operating system. The malware looks to proliferating off the back of attacks on websites that are serving images on Google Images – it is recommended that you browse safely, utilising other image searches for the time being.

Took ihoto to Imovie-Looks like Cra

I did all my slide shows in iPhoto. They looked good on the screen.
I exported as Quick time movies to iMovie.
Projected onto a 9x12 ft screen and they looked terrible.
The iPhoto projected fine onto the 9x12 screen.
What did I do wrong?
PS On the 9x12 screen the images were narrower than on the computer screen.
What's the fix for that?

Looks like you might have to create an HD iMovie project. I just did a project and had exactly the same results. What you are projecting from iPhoto are much higher resolution images. I assume that your iMovie project is standard video (NTSC). When this is projected, the resolution is roughly 640 x 480 resulting in a narrower image with less resolution.
An HD project should give you better results. In my next project I will be experimenting with HD.
