Fonts have gone crazy with 08 update

I purchased iLife 08 and installed the iWeb update (including the 2.0.1 web update), and wanted to update my website; simply add a page and fix a couple of typos. First thing was my eps files that had looked fine and worked as transparent pictures were no longer transparent. They all had to go away and be re-imported, re-sized and re-positioned.
After that, everything looked fine in iWeb. I published it to a folder and looked at it in Safari & Firefox, and the fonts went crazy. What was Arial Black in all browsers in the old iWeb is something very "Geneva" like. Same thing for Arial "regular." I went and copied a very simple block of text (and all formatting) from one page where it looks OK, to the place where it publishes wrong. Nothing was fixed.
Additionally, the text that I had links associated with are now random size text and random fonts. And I do mean random. What is supposed to be arial 13 everywhere, can be as big as 26 pt, with stretched fonts, smaller, bold.... totally random. The same is true when viewed in both Safari and Firefox. Save your old files before updating, and don't have high expectations for success when you do update.
This is a dangerous update.

So are you saying that I can rebuild from scratch in '08 and I won't have any problems? That's a possibility, but a painful one.
There is something that stops me from trying out the new features on new site. The program is limited to only dealing with one site (the work-arounds for this are not for the faint-of heart).

Play Counts have gone crazy

I am not sure what has happened but sometime over the past few weeks my play counts have gone crazy. I have songs that are reporting a play count of between 265 and 769. Obviously these are not even close to correct (especially since the next closest number is like 20). Is there any reason this might have happened? Is there any way to correct this information without resetting the play count for those tracks completely?

Many thanks again. I do not understand the concept of 'using the script' on the page you refer me to: I am not terribly technical! Basically, I don't understand the comment 'Save the text of this file and add the extension .js and put it in your script folder and run the script in Window > Utilites > Scripts >' How do I save the 'text of this file', and does this refer to everthing that is in the box, beginning '//blind Open' and ending '}'? What is my 'script folder' and how do I find it? Is this a folder in InDesign, or Windows (I'm running Windows 7, 64bit).
I did try to open the 124 byte file (sorry, I said 124 KB by mistake), and got an error message that it could not be opened. Also, as a check I exported a much smaller file (1244 KB, as opposed to the 'problem' file, which is 5668 KB), and the resulting file was 48 KB.

I have iPhone 4 with newest update and Mac laptop with Snow Leopard and current version of iTunes. When I hook the phone up via USB, iPhoto pops open and reads the pictures for import, but iTunes doesn't do anything. Not seeing the device as a USB, either

Sorry, thought that was the body of the question, so the title is long. When I plug in my iPhone 4 (newest update) into my Mac laptop (current version of iTunes, Snow Leopard), it does not read the music, apps, etc., or open iTunes at all. It syncs the pictures, but it doesn't not show as a USB device, either. I have gone through the Troubleshooting assistant, restarting both comp and laptop, using different USB ports, etc. If it is of note, when I look at the option to Sync through Wifi on the phone, it says that sync will happen when my computer (by name) is "available." Not sure if this is a phone issue or laptop, leaning towards laptop, since iPhoto syncs. Willing to buy Lion if that will fix the problem! I would appreciate any help that is given.

You have written a very long story, and I admit I have skipped most of it. But I think the question is you are on iOS 7, and cannot get the latest version of iTunes (11.1.5) on your computer because your OS X is too old.
The fact that you chose not to update your hardware does not mean you could not update your software!
OS X 10.5 is very old (about four years). iTunes 11.1.5 (current version) requires at least OS X 10.6.8 to run. Very likely, you could upgrade your computer's software to at least OS X 10.6.8 and then download the current iTunes on it.
You would start here:

Then you would update the OS X 10.6 to OS X 10.6.8 over the air, then download iTunes (or update to a later OS X, as the current version is 10.9.2).

HT1694 Where is the setting in IOS7 to set the number of emails. In IOS6 I had it set to 100, but now I have over 500 with the update

I am having the same problem, only I have over 2,000 emails now showing up. I used to only get 200. I never did set that figure up in my phone, it change with software updated. 2 upgrades ago, the phone only carried 100.
Maybe Apple is now letting all our email through.

You are not the only one to report issues updating today so perhaps there is a temporary technical hitch; perhaps try again in a few hours before messing with your existing installation.

I keep getting drop down messages about updates for my MacBook Pro. These have to do with iphoto, updates that I could care less about. How do I keep these from popping up, with out taking the update. The drop down is very frustrating.

Where are the drop down reminders appearing? All I get is a number showing up on the App Store dock icon.
You are probably going to have to either update the software or remove it from your computer.

Since changing account name fonts have gone bold in Safari 3.1

I've renamed the admin account on my eMac, which proved to be a bad idea.
Since I've got everything back all of my Safari fonts have changed. The default font appears different and most of the link boxes are heavy bold black rather than light bold blue.
Any ideas why this has happened.
From earlier discussions I have validated my Font Book app and resolved duplicates. Restarted, but the prob remains.

Contacts and calendar have stopped syncing with latest updates

Hello!
iPhone 4S / iOS 7.0.4 and Outlook 2010 - contacts and calendar have stopped syncing - phone syncs, but data doesn't update - Genuis bar in store couldn't help me.
Anyone else with this problem? Do you have a solution?
iCloud is not a option due to limited WIFI access.

Quite suddenly several things have gone wrong with my itouch

I have refurbished iTouch 8GB we bought from Applestore. I got it last X-mas and everything was fine until now.
First, like others, my yahoo mail isn't working correctly in that it won't always send. I get a message that it doesn't recognize my password. I have to constantly manually re-enter my password to send. It is an intermittent problem. Probably Yahoo's fault from what I gather?
Next, even though I have everything set to start up iTunes when I connect the iTouch to my computer (a MAC), iPhoto starts up.
Next, synching with iTouch and ical is no longer working. I tried the method described in another forum, of deleting the contents on my computer and starting over, etc., but now I have double events of everything, and am still missing some things that I was missing before.
Also, my iTouch now defaults to my "work" calendar instead of "home" calendar when I enter an event. So I always have to manually enter "home" everytime I enter an event.
This has all occurred one right after the other in the last few weeks. Could it be an updated iTunes that is causing this? I tried looking up iTunes help but just get an endless "searchiing" signal and the spinning beachball on my computer.

Yahoo mail problem: can't really help you with that. Although when iCloud opens up this fall, it may be easier to use an @me.com email adress.
iPhoto opens when you connect your iPod: Open iPhoto, then on the menu bar click "iPhoto", then click "preferences" when the windows appears, you will see "connected camera opens". Select "no application".
If you want your home calender selected by default, go to settings>mail, contacts, calenders> scroll down to the default calender option.

Help Please! iMac screen colours have gone crazy

Can someone please please help me to solve this problem? I was playing around with my new iMac screen settings. I made changes to the calibration colour settings. Now I notice that the colour has all gone to alpha, gamma range and is looking horrible. Can someone please help me to restore the factory settings for the display? Or suggest ways in which I can fix it please? That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Open System Preferences->Displays->Color and select "iMac". That should be the factory default settings, as when you run the calibrator the last thing it asks you is what you want to call your calibrated profile. The default name is "iMac Calibrated" which should be in that list too. If its not there and you overwrote the original, click the "Calibrate" button again and just click through it using the default choices it gives you. This will return the display to its default look.
