Fonts in Adobe not working

Hi All,
I have problem with Adobe Forms, Font.
Whatever Font I select , in preview and print it is showing Bold Italic of some different Font.
Do I need to specify or Set anything on ADS.

HI friend,
There is nothing to set on ADS you need to activate your program correctly.
Also in Adobe there is not separate character or paragraph format as in Smart forms so we can check it very easily.
Else see whether the fonts are installed in your system if not ask basis team to set up that.
Also put these posts in form printing to get more aswers quickly this is a wrong post in this forum.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the function to reseize the Font in an iBook is not functioning properly.
I recommend a few things here. First close all the apps that are running in the background:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that, restart the phone, and try again.

2. Check for app updates
You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the app updates.
Note: Some apps may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
3. Install another app from the App Store
If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. You can also remove an app from your iOS device and download it again from the App Store or sync the app from your computer.Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.
4. Restart the app
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app.
5. Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
6. Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:
Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-right corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and then download it again.

Why is Adobe not working after I've downloaded the recommended updated version??

Why is Adobe not working (I don't get even a picture!!, let alone audio) after downloading the recommended "updated version?"

When I try to read the news clips...like OMG, or any of the "gossip" that involves a short video clip, a screen pops up saying that there's a new version of Adobe, which I should update to. So I updated it...by the usual clicking where it says to click and I can see the new version being added. But, after it's finished updating, I don't get even a picture...or sound...of the usual OMB lady speaking, nor do I get the video clips of any of the "gosspi" items or trailers, or anything else.
There's just a big, blank space where the video would normally be showing.
I could see the updates taking place on a separate screen that pops up, too. It took a minute or so to finish. I've done it at least 5 times, but I still get just a blank space in place of the picture and sound that used to pop up! (The video clip of the father who jumped out of a moving car to pick up his daughter, who fell out of the car onto the road, for instance, does not appear...just a blank space!)
I hope this clarifies my problem.

Font Auto-Activation Not Working After First Use

Anyone else seeing this problem, or have a fix? Font auto-activation stops working after the first use. Here's what happens: Open a file that contains a font that is installed, but is disabled in Font Book. The dialog box "Application wants to use the font XXX". Click on Allow. The font will be available, as you expect. Now quit the application. Open the file again - you won't get the dialog box asking permission to use the font, and the font is not available. This happens in Pages 3.0.1 and TextEdit 1.5. It happens for each individual font - in other words, continuing my description, if you now open a second file that has another font that is disabled in Font Book, you'll be asked permission to use it. But once you've allowed a particular font to be used, you won't be asked permission again.

Make a backup. Restore the device as new. Test the issue again. If it persists, your device needs service. If the issue disappears, restore your backup. If it then reappears, then there is some form of corrupt data on the device from the backup. You'll have to restore that data one portion at a time to determine what is causing it, or set up the device as new.

Changing the font size does not work with Textarea with HTML Editor

If you change the font size in the text area of a "Textarea with HTML Editor" item it does not work. I've searched the forum and the only solution I've seen is to use an HTML editor foriegn to APEX. Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Elizabeth

I'm having a similar issue except with HTML Editor Standard.
What I'm doing is allow someone to write to an HTML Editor Standard field and then an HTML marked up text is saved to a db CLOB column. In another page, I reference this DB column and show it in an HTML Region (I do a computation Before Regions for a hidden item that writes out the html with "htp.p")
Everything shows up fine EXCEPT the font tags and headings. I'm finding that the HTML Region sets the font size only with the < d i v s t y l e="font-size: large" >and NOT < f o n t size:6 >. When the HTML Editor renders the user's text input, any size changes are made with the < f o n t > tag, which is depreciated anyways, and not with "style". That's why the size is not showing up.
I can't really figure out why the headings aren't showing up except maybe the css style in the region is overridding it...
Is there another APEX item type like HTML Editor (which uses FCKEditor) that I can use, or maybe another approach to remedy this issue? Or maybe this post calls for an enhancement with the HTML Editor?{size}{size}

Sonata font on MacOS - not working correctly

Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the Sonata Standard OpenType file via FontBook in MacOS 10.9.2. So far the font is not working correctly in either MS Word or Apple Keynote -- I get standard qwerty letters rather than musical notation. Anyone ideas on how to fix/troubleshoot?

Thank you for going through the process of using those custom keyboard layouts. It was my pleasure to work on those some years ago.
There is a reason why the placement of some characters on those custom layouts seems arbitrary: They were intended to replace the experience a user would have when using the same PostScript font, which was directly mapped to the characters available on the keyboard. Of course they could be re-arranged today – but that would mean opening a whole different project; and would probably question some of the semantics within Sonata.
Back to your problem:
I just tested the keyboard layout for Sonata, together with the Sonata OTF in InDesign, and I did not find any problems.
Of course this does not help you. So let me just describe what I did:
I copied the OTF file, to ~/Library/Fonts
I copied SonataStd.keylayout to ~/Library/Keyboard Layouts
Admittedly, in OSX Mavericks it is a bit more complicated to install a custom keyboard layout:
In System Preferences, go to Keyboard and Input Sources.
Click the + button at the bottom left, scroll down the list and select “Others”.
In the list to the right, you will find a “SonataStd” keyboard layout, it has a grey icon. Click Add.
After adding this layout, you will be taken back on the Input Sources screen. Check the box next to Show Input in menu in menu bar if it is not yet active.
Back in InDesign, create a new text box, select SonataStd, and choose the SonataStd keyboard layout from the menu bar (marked by the flag of the country representing your keyboard).
Now you can begin typing. I could type the sixteenth-note-rest on a US keyboard with alt-x.
However, one thing I have observed:
If you have set any custom keyboard shortcuts in InDesign that are using the alt-key; they might get in the way of typing some of the symbols.
Which of the available symbols in Sonata are you missing in the custom keyboard layout? I tested them all, and could type everything.
What sometimes happens is that the keyboard layout will switch back to default (US in my case), which then looks like the Sonata keyboard layout is not working.
My personal opinion on this: The keyboard layouts are a nice idea for making glyphs accessible to users that don’t have a glyph palette, but they can be very confusing. They will interfere with the normal usage of the application and OS, since standard keyboard shortcuts will no longer work – simply because they rely on the standard keyboard layout of your system.
Personally, I would use the glyph palette in most cases, simply because switching keyboard layouts back and fort would get to tedious for me.

Font "Verdana" is not working - Oracle forms 11g

Forms : 11.1.2.0 - Development
I'm using the font "Verdana" for some items in a form. When i test it, forms keeps using another font (arial). However, other fonts do work.
These are the lines in the registry.dat file:
default.fontMap.defaultFontname=Dialog
default.fontMap.defaultSize=900
default.fontMap.defaultStyle=PLAIN
default.fontMap.defaultWeight=PLAIN
default.fontMap.appFontnames=Courier New,Courier,courier,System,Terminal,Fixed,Fixedsys,Times,Times New Roman,MS Sans Serif,Arial default.fontMap.javaFontnames=MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,Dialog,MonoSpaced,Dialog,Dialog,Serif,Serif,Dialog,SansSerif
Is there another file to check. On internet, i found some info about the font.propeerties file, but there's no one in the directory used for 11g installation. There are two files named "font.properties", but located in the forms 6i directory, so i'd say these are not the files i need to check.

This is mostly an Apple issue and you should discuss it with them. Oracle Support has authored some documents on the subject, but because it is really an Apple issue, you probably will be best served contacting them. Basically, Apple has put Java on lockdown. If you want it to work make some setting changes. There are numerous web site that are talking about the new restrictions. A simple Google search will get you started.

Adobe not working today... was fine yesterday..

I created a word document on my PC then I transferred it from a word doc into a PDF. When I try to open the saved PDF file an error message comes up with a blank page. The message is "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to fix the problem."... I am the person who created it. Adobe worked perfectly yesterday... ugh....

"Adobe" being what - Adobe Reader? Acrobat? What version?
How did you create that PDF: using Word? Acrobat? PDF Pack?
What is your operating system?

I can open a credit card statement but when I try to print it It stopa and a window informs me that Adobe has stopped working so I can't print the information

Surely you are not opening credit card statements with Flash Player...?
Are you using Adobe Reader? What version? On what browser? On what operating system?

CS5 PostScript Type 1 Font FHMX Import not Working (10.6.8)

I've had this problem for a while and just haven't taken the time to ask about what's causing it. When importing an older drawing from FreeHand MX all the standard notes we use (Univers Condensed Family) no longer are recognized. What's weird is they were working perfectly fine when importing into CS4. I've tried all different methods of getting them to work. Cleaning font cache files, installing the font directly in some of the system font folders. Directly in Illustrator font folders. Nothing is working. Right now I have to go through all the notes entered in FHMX and re-style them into the Univers Condensed version that does show up in Illy.
Any other ideas what is going on with this? I'd really like to avoid have to fix all the fonts from imported files.

Thanks for the reply Mike. No I don't have CS4 on the machine anymore as I got a newer machine when I moved to a new position. It's still on the old machine that went to someone else. Yes, we already knew about CS6 not importing. It's one of the reasons we went with CS5 instead of 6.
It gives me a, "Font not found on the system; missing font has been substituted.". It really doesn't make sense though as all my other apps that have font selection allow me to pick them.

Vlc and adobe not working

hi guys
i got a little nagging problem here...
whenever i install adobe or vlc, all the icons on my desktop are replaced by either of the shortcuts for these two programms and this has me insane!!! nothing works after that and i had to remove the two.. i definitely wanna use adobe if not vlc!

Try running SFC /SCANNOW from an elevated command prompt.

Certain symbol fonts installed but not working, please advise

I'm trying to edit an entire website in Flash that uses Zapf Dingbats font symbols. I had upgraded my computer since last working on the website and had not re-installed the font, so I did so with my copy of the font suitcase. FontBook installs and displays it correctly, but no applications on my Mac will display the font properly—when I select it, I just get regular alphabetic characters. I tested some other fonts and found another that does the same thing: Apple Symbols, which was pre-installed on my computer. I tried restarting to no avail.
What could be causing these fonts not to work properly? Thanks in advance!

Oh thank you so much for this tip! It does work to insert symbols from all the various fonts that offer them, but it doesn't explain why one can no longer choose Dingbats from the font menu and type the various characters, nor why all my Zapf Dingbats symbols in all my Flash animations now show up as "+" symbols (and Flash warns me that Zapf Dingbats is not installed on my system when opening the files, even though it is).
However, your tip has allowed me to find the symbol I need in Pages, then copy and paste it into Flash. I will have to replace dozens and dozens of instance of this symbol in my Flash files, but at least it works!

Embedded fonts in SVG not working?

CS3, CS4 - is it just me, or is the SVG import really broken? even if I make a new file with Illustrator, save as SVG and choose to embed fonts, Illustrator still reports a missing font when I remove the font from the system and then try to open that file again.
I have tried both CEF and SVG embed types. Curves are not an option, because text needs to remain editable.
Any ideas?

My Font Book is not working since installing Yosemite

I've got a Mac Pro (Early 2008). Since installing Yosemite my Font Book refuses to launch. Can anyone help?

I have tried all the suggestions posted on online forms to no avail.
Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue in case there were things you missed.
I think as a loyal customer I deserve better than this....

Use Software Update to update your os and anything else that needs to be updated. You are seriously outdated for Snow Leopard.

arial narrow specif. is being ignored by iPhone...
so is Arial Narrow not installed in iPhone? this really s**cks..... what on earth is the rationale for this? doesn't make sense... especially considering how small screens are you gotta work with on mobile devices... man, this should be a no-brainer.....
