Fonts in font list display bitmapped and I cannot get rid of them?

There are fonts in my illustrator fontlist showing up, when I use one it appears bitmapped. I use fontbook to manage my fonts, these particular fonts are not visible in fontbook and I cannot find them if i search my system or our server.
Id like to delete them from my system if I could find them.

1. Force Quit .
    Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
    When Force Quit window appears, select Safari if not already.
    Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window.   Wait.
    Safari will quit.
2. Relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.
3. Turn off wifi and turn it back on.
    Turn off Wifi. Click Wifi icon in the menu bar and select “Turn Wifi off”.
    Visit another website.
    You won’t have internet connection.
    Turn on Wifi. Click Wifi icon in the menu bar and select “Turn Wifi on”.
    Select your Network.
4. Safari > Preferences > Security > Privacy
    Cookies and website data:
    Click “Details” button.
    Remove the cookie related to this, if there is one.
If this doesn't help:
1. Use free AdwareMedic to remove adware

   Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
   Once done, quit AdwareMedic.
             or
   Remove the adware manually by following the “HowTo” from Apple.

2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Turn those off and relaunch Safari.
    Turn those on one by one and test.

Icons in finder bar; what do they mean and how to get rid of them

Hi I notice these icons in my finder bar. I'm confused; what are they there for and how to get rid of them?

One is a Flash movie project and the other two a PDF files - you usually have them in your Finder window bar because you've dragged them to that location. You can get rid of them by selecting the icon with the Command key held down and drag them to the Desktop - poof! - they'll disappear.

copy any objects you want to keep,
Select all, (command A), and press delete key.
Paste back the items to retain (Command V)

Can you exit out of the app by pressing the home button ? If you can then try closing the Words With Friends app via the taskbar and see if it reappears when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Words app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Words app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

As soon as I open Firefox there appears a page, in German, which I did not request. it is there permanently and I cannot get rid of it. Can someone help? Thank you.

Duplicates in Aperture and how to get rid of them

Short of putting the photos on List view and eyeballing the details [IPTC/EXIF] and deleting each one individually is there any better way to do this. I have TidyUp and have used it in other such tasks in the past but wasn't sure that doing so with a large library [500G] would be a good idea.
These are mainly duplicate Masters, not versions.

Question about "Linked" pictures and how to get rid of them?

I have recently upgraded from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a 2013 MacBook Pro and there is a picture under Users & Groups when you go to change the display picture under "Linked" that I can't get rid of, while that isn't really an issue even though I would like to get rid of it if possible, every time I change my picture on Messages, when I close the application and come back into it, that linked picture is my display picture again. Any suggestions?

All my text in Google and all emails in Gmail is bold text and I cannot get ride of it. Tried to uninstall and re-install without success

The Goggle Seach and Gmail text is always bold. This happened as part of upgrade to Firefox 6.0 and the 6.01 upgrade did not help.
Strangle this webpage present the text in a proper way and not bold.
I tried to change the settings but cannot get it to work. It is not zoomed in or out (I tried that) and Windows is up to date (Windows 7).

With an ATI graphics card like the OP of this thread has a possible cause and solution is to disable "Morphological Filtering" in the Catalyst display driver.

Aol Search has become the search engine and I cannot get rid of it

I unsubsribed from Get Glue and now every time I open Firefox, Get Glue opens on the page and I cannot get rid of it. I like Firefox and would like to use it, but the problem with Get Glue coming up each time I open Firefox causes me not to use Firefox.

This sounds more like a Windows question, than a Firefox question. When you say that an image shows up every time you open your computer, do you mean every time you turn on your computer, or every time you start Firefox?

Duplicate Groups and how to get rid of them

Somehow (maybe by having sync from iTunes and from MobileMe I have duplicate groups of calendars and contacs. With the same information in each group, I can't get rid of one set or the other. How can I do that and which one should I get rid of (if there's a choice)?

If you are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, if you also sync contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, this does nothing but duplicate your contacts and calendar events on your iPhone.
Prior to firmware update 3.0, it wasn't possible to sync contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account and/or with an Exchange account and sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. Apple included the ability to do both primarily for those syncing business contacts and calendar events over the air with an Exchange account who also wanted to sync personal contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on a personal computer at home via the iTunes sync process. When doing so, you can view business and personal contacts and calendar events combined or separately. When doing this with a MobileMe account, this does nothing but duplicate the contacts and calendar events on your iPhone.
To get rid of the duplicates, deselect sync contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by selecting Apply.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select your MobileMe account.
Turn Contacts and Calendars off for over the air syncing.
A warning message will be provided indicating this will erase all contacts and calendar events downloaded from and kept synchronized with your MobileMe online address book and calendar along with an option to store this data locally on your iPhone. Decline the prompt to store this data locally on your iPhone.
This will not erase the contacts and calendar events on your iPhone that were synced direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.
Follow this by turning Contacts and Calendars back on for over the air syncing. You will be provided a merge prompt, which you want to select.
This will get rid of the duplicates on your iPhone.

A "Caret Browsing" box has popped up and I cannot get rid of it.

This box just showed up and even when I tell it not to show me again and click no it does not go away. If I try to move it it pops back to the middle of my screen. Currently there are 4 of them now on my desktop. I did not download anything and do not think that I pressed F7 key to start this dialog. How do I get rid of this? I do not want or need it. This also opens when I closed Firefox and tried to us IE to look it up and see what it was.

I have a new MacBook Pro. While getting rid of voice over I ended up with a black box with icons in it and I cannot get rid of it and I can't get off the home screen

I have a brand new MacBook Pro . I got into voice over and then figured out how to stop that but now have a black box in the middle of the home screen and that box has a bunch of icons .....(Keyboard, pointer etc) I cannot get it to close and I'm not able to go past the home screen. Help

If you click on that window, the menu bar should change to whatever program that is. Then click the program name and click Exit.
If that doesn't work, click the Apple icon, then Force Quit. Look for something that says Not Responding and quit it.
Last... if nothing else works reboot and see if that does it.
