Fonts in my documents

I have windows7 and Photoshop Elements 8.0
I need to write a text with the font Times new roman but i can't see this font in the program.
In my windows font list I can see that i have the font in my computer.
How can I activate the font in Photoshop Elements?

Elements uses the system fonts, so you should be able to access it
Open a blank file, click on the type tool, then click on the little triangle at the top, left on the tool's option bar, and reset the tool
Scroll down to ascertain if you can select Times New Roman.

    Hi
    Level 2 posters and Above can report various posts.
    When they do so they have various options that they can attribute as the issue.
    I have reported your post.
    I found the one block of text very difficult to read.

  • When you create a PostScript file you must rely on system fonts and use document fonts

    I got this error:
    "When you create a PostScript file you must rely on system fonts and use document fonts. Please go to the printer properties, "Adobe PDF Settings" page and turn OFF the option "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts."
    This strikes me as bad practice. I only want to use system fonts and document fonts will muck me up.
    That being said, I could not easily find a way to fix this with Acrobat Pro XI. I opened Control Panel (Windows 8) and found the printer and mucked around in the various ways to get to change the PDF settings (there are several ways, and some of them present the choices as bold and not just regular). I found two separate switches for "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" and turned both off, BUT that did not work.
    Frustrated, I went back to FrameMaker and clicked File > Print Setup and then for the PDF printer, Printer Properties. There I found a THIRD instance of "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" that was set differently than the other two. This was the setting the error message meant. Change this one.
    Thanks for the convoluted UI, Adobe. What a pain, but there is the answer for all who follow after....

    > Windows 7 and Frame 7.2.
    This is not a supported configuration and probably does not work, due (I'm guessing) to driver API changes from XP to Win7, which would affect generating PDF and Ps output. This would affect Save-as-PDF and Print-to-Ps+Distill (unless you have a newer version of the full Acrobat product).
    As it happens, I'm going to attempt something similar: FM 7.0 on Win7 64 Pro. However, I'm going to install that old FM in "XP Mode".
    XP Mode is a 32-bit virtual machine running actual Windows XP inside Win7. It is (now maybe "was") available for Windows 7 Enterprise, Professional and Ultimate (but not Basic, Home or not-so-Premium). When XP went off support life earlier this month, Mr.Bill may have taken down the ability  to download XP Mode (or not, since some large enterprises are able to  purchase continued support for XP at some great cost). XP Mode never was supported for Win8. There are other VMs for Windows available.
    If XP Mode is still available, you also need a CPU that has hardware virtualization, which all recent 64-bit AMD processors do, but which is fused-off in many low end 64-bit Intel processors. AMD processors need a separate unobvious hot-fix patch installed before you do anything else about XP Mode.

  • Cant get the font on PDF document and alignment

    I cant get the font on PDF document and alignment eventhough I have margins to 0 still getting some space from the top and left side.
    I have added fonts to CF Admin and restarted too still same issue. I am able to see fonts are added in CF Admin.

    I suspect there is a little bit of padding between the HTML content and the edge of the PDF page. You could solve the problem by specifying the fonts and margins using the HTML style property, like this, for example:
    <cfdocument format="PDF" pageType="A4" marginBottom="0" marginLeft="0" marginRight="0" marginTop="0">
    <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
        <style>
            body{font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:100%;margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0;}
            p{font-family:"Times New Roman", Times, serif;font-size:14px}
        </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <!--- Content of your document --->
    </body>
    </cfdocument>

  • How do I convert PDF/JPEG file in "Brush Script MT" font to Word Document

    How do I convert PDF/JPEG file in "Brush Script MT" font to Word Document? (I checked with Acrobat XI pro but no use

    You cannot in Adobe Reader. You can try in Acrobat, but first you must try to run OCR (Text Recognition). I have never tried OCR on a script font.

  • Missing fonts in Word documents?

    Hi
    I have just got a new iMac and have upgraded to Word for Mac 2011 from Word OSX and when I open older documents the original documents fonts are missing. Any ideas how I can globally correct this rather than changing each document everytime I open it
    Thanks

    See Font Management in OS X, for starters.

  • Missing fonts in iWork documents

    My iWork apps keep giving me missing font document warnings when I launch Pages, Keynote and Numbers documents. This is a problem already reported by many other iWork users but I haven't found a satisfactory solution and I'm hoping someone here can help.
    When launching an existing Pages document, I get this document warning:
    Here's what I see in the Font Chooser. Helvetica has got some new variants like '.Light Oblique'. What the??
    But if I quit Pages and then create a new document, I don't get any warnings. The Font Chooser also behaves as usual:
    I've validated my fonts, deleted the font cache, repaired permissions in an attempt to fix the problem with no success. What should I do?

    I'd like to add perhaps a slightly different perspective to this problem. I'm a graphic designer and use Insider Software's FontAgent Pro to manage all of the fonts on my machine. I use Font Book only to manage the few system fonts that are necessary to run the OS.
    I keep the number of activated fonts to a minimum and regularly clean out the font caches to prevent any problems with all of the design apps that I use. I've done this for years and haven't experienced any font-related problems for a long, long time.
    When I want to use Helvetica/Neue Helvetica (which is rarely), I use PostScript Type 1 versions of those fonts. I don't want to reinstall the dfont version of Helvetica, because that will create conflicts with the fonts in my commercial work.
    Whenever I open or create an iWork document I get the Missing Font error mentioned in this thread. The new version of iWork lets me select a substitute font, but my choice never seems to "stick." Once I close the document and reopen it, the same message reappears. iWork seems to assume that every document must use the dfont version of Helvetica/Helvetica Neue, regardless of what I want.
    Why can't I specify what font I'd like to use, and have it become the default for all of the iWork apps? Until Apple fixes this problem the whole suite will have to remain shelfware and I'll keep using Office. I'd prefer to use iWork, but at least Office doesn't insist on nagging me about my font choices.

  • Why can I change the callout text font in some documents and not others?

    By experimenting I have determined that some documents that will allow me to add callouts also let me change the text font to a different font or font size.  Other documents that will let me add callouts will not allow me to change the text font. A specific example is that I can add callouts and change the callout's font in pdf's I create by printing from Word, but a datasheet I have from a manufacturer I use will allow me to add callouts but not change the callout font.  Why can't I change the font in callouts I add to the datasheet?  I am using Acrobat 9.5.2.  Thanks for the help.

    Thanks Bob, I didn't think of that, I suppose that would work.  Basically I would just like to have more text sizes to choose from in the drop down menu, I guess its more an issue of laziness on my part than anything else.  I could make a character style for it, but then I'd probably have 10 different character styles just to change the size of my text when it would be less hassle just to type in the size I need.  I was just looking for a quick fix default option that I was used to having at my old job.

  • Script for Word 2008 to set the font for whole document.

    I just moved to Office 2008 form 2004 and am shocked to see my Macros do not work! So need to solve it with Aplescript. I spend an hour to find a way of changing the font in a whole document, to no avail.
    To select all the text is easy:
    tell application "System Events"
    tell application "Microsoft Word" to activate
    tell process "Microsoft Word" to keystroke "a" using command down
    end tell
    But how to get it to do the font?
    Any tips?

    Looks promising:
    http://www.macworld.com/reviews/product/671498/review/microsoftword_for_mac2011.html
    The bottom line is this: Microsoft Word for Mac no longer feels like a second-string word processing program in the Microsoft Office suite. It is in fact a powerful tool for creating all your personal and business documents and for collaborating with others. More importantly, Word 2011 now makes it possible to insert a Mac into nearly any business environment and offer Mac users the same set of features found in Word for Windows, without compromise.
    And regarding Macros:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/154785/2010/10/welcomebackvisualbasic.html
    In my testing so far, Excel 2011 runs older macros just fine. I opened one macro-laden worksheet I’d created back in 1992 in Excel 2011; it ran perfectly. I also opened a number of Excel 2004 worksheets, all of which used macros to some degree or another, and they also worked as expected.
    New macros I’ve recorded so far all worked as expected. The Visual Basic Editor’s work area is mostly identical to that of Excel 2004’s, but with a few nice additions. For instance, the Edit menu features some new options for viewing properties, methods, constants and parameters. In the Debug menu, you can create Watch functions, which allow you to watch an expression and to stop the macro when a value changes or a condition becomes true.
    Microsoft’s Excel 2011 team has also worked to make Mac macros compatible with those written for Excel for Windows. According to Microsoft, Excel 2011 for Mac features a full port of the Windows Office VBA environment; in most cases, the OS X and Windows versions of VBA now mirror each other. This includes updating the core VBA engine in Office 2011 to VBA version 6.5, and adding some commands (FormatCurrency, FormatNumber, Replace) that had been disabled in Excel 2004 for the Mac. When there were object-model differences between the Windows and OS X versions, Microsoft says it conformed the Mac version to Office 2010. (Macworld hasn’t had the opportunity to fully test that Windows-compatibility yet.)
    Overall, I’ve been quite happy with the macro experience in Excel 2011. Now that Tools -> Macros does something useful once again, I can finally retire Excel 2004.

  • [CS2/CS3 JS] How to set Default Font for multiple documents

    Hello,
    How do I set the default font for any new text frames I create.
    I have several thousand InDesign templates in which the default font is set to a font that is no longer licenced and therefore requires changing.
    I already have a script which will open each template and change the first insertion point of any (empty) text frame to a new font but any new text frames created in these templates still want to use the unlicensed font.
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Simon Kemp

    for existing documents:
    app.activeDocument.textDefaults.appliedFont = myDoc.fonts.itemByName ('Arial\tBold');
    for newly created ones:
    app.textDefaults.appliedFont = myDoc.fonts.itemByName ('Arial\tBold');

    Thank

    Hello Experts,
    Pleasure to meet you all through this forum. This is my first reply to a question.
    Mr. Chuan Lee, try the following and let me know if it works to your issue.
    1. Choose the document that you would print and choose the PLD icon.
    2.Click the field on the Print Layout Design on the left and then check the Font and Size in the Format Tab of the Properties window on to your right below field Index window.
    3. If it is differing from what you are expecting, change and font and size and save the changes.
    4. Check the box " Block Overall Font Change" below the Font&Size property fields.
    5. Save your preferences.
    I think it should work.
    Experts correct me if i am wrong. Appreciate me if I am right.
    All the best Chuan lee.

  • [CS3] Used font in a document: Index?

    Hello!
    I am working with IUsedFontList and IPMFont.
    But none is telling me the index of a font used in a document.
    How can I get the index of a font used in a document?

    Changing fonts/font sizes in a scanned document requires a product like Acrobat to
    convert the scanned image into text (OCR)
    make actual changes to the text
    With Adobe Reader you can use the Zoom function to enlarge the PDF document content.

  • Check fonts in PDF documents

    Hi
    I have a PDF document with more than 700 pages. I want to make sure all the texts in document only uses 2 font familes (for example, Arial and Times New Roman). If there are texts using other fonts I'd like to know in order to change it.
    In Adobe InDesign we have the Type > Find Font that is exactelly what I need (see the fonts in document, change them if necessary). Would we have in Adobe Acrobat Professional anything like this Adobe InDesign's Type > Find Font command?
    Thank you very much
    Gustavo.

    Hey Gustavo
    Try this ,
    File>Properties>Fonts
    From here you will see the various fonts used in the PDF.
    Further what you can do is ,
    Go to Tools>Content Editing>Edit Text and Images.
    Select a particular text or a file and you will be able to see the font of that selected text.
    Try this and see does that help.

  • Embeded Fonts in PDF documents

    Hello,
    I have a problem with a font that I have used in a document, some years ago. I created a pdf from a MS Word document and it seems that I have not embedded the font AG Chroma to the pdf. Hence a part of the text is not viewable from most pc's. Is there a chance of editing/adding a font in the existing pdf file, since my old doc file is no longer available??
    many thanx
    marios

    Hallo Marios,
    I too confronting with the same problem, but you know the reason why you got the FontException that is because of unsupported font you have within your pdf.
    Ok, So you can do one thing you can register the font factory under your windows installation folder :
    C:/windows/fonts/*.*;
    Then you can access the pdf file from any application without font exception.
    I am also in the midst of this path: so you please revert back is is satisfying for you or not.
    Thanking you

  • Typing IPA font into Word document

    Is anyone familiar with some convenient way of typing the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) font in a Word document. Word doesn't even recognize the IPA font I have installed. The only thing I have been successful with is painfully inserting the font one by one using the Character Palette into TextEdit.
    Is there another IPA font that is more compatible? I thought all truetype fonts would work... Is there another program I need to use the keyboard to type a strange font?
