Fonts in titles not smooth

When I design a title slide, the fonts look smooth. When click the Add button to apply the title, the fonts change to rough. What's going on?

definitely...this is absolutely true. Which is why:
If it's really important to me, I will make a post titles test export in full quality (nowadays called "share", but it's a dippy word for it) AND ALSO...if I am making the movie for a specific purpose, like for my webpage or for specifically putting on YouTube, I will export share a version of my movie in the same settings,size and all that I will ultimately use just to see how it will look. oh yeah, btw, crayon box blue looks bad too. kinda bleedy in smaller sizes. So you have to think-plan-do your projects. seems kind of strange to have to be so left brained in some circumstances where it was so right brained a conception, but this is definitely carefully considered left brained functions and you have to think with the software. Not just expect it to think for you. Though, I suspect that is where the new frontier of iMovie is actually going and I hate it. I like the right brain/left brain harmony of making of movie. It's fun to me.

Boris Crawl/ Roll Titles not smooth - Help anyone?

Does any of you FCP pros out there know how to get the roll or crawl titles to come out smooth?
I'm using the Boris Crawl in FCP 5.04 and I checked the deflicker option (not sure if that made matters better or worse... ?). The roll titles look fine on the computer monitor, but they look bad in the DVD version on my TV monitor. (at the moment I don't have a camera or another way of connecting the monitor directly to the computer). The crawl titles look bad in both places... a bit shaky and flickering, making it hard to read them.
Is there a better way? or is this the best FCP can put out?

I've been generally unhappy with credit scrolls in FCP over the years, so what I do when I have to create credit scrolls is make a 640x3000 JPG file in Photoshop and type my credits in there. Then I just use the motion controls in FCP to make it appear as if this image scrolls from -3000 through +3000. I never get any sort of pixelation or flicker, and I could swear it scrolls a little smoother than the scroll generator in Boris, LiveType or FCP. PDF exported from Pages (mountain lion) results in jagged font not smooth

I am using Mac air mid-2012 + Mountain Lion (OS X 10.9.4) + Pages (5.2)
I used Arial - Regular - font 12 pt to write a resume. After I export to PDF the font on pdf looks anti-aliased, jagged not smooth on 100% scale. The font in Pages is ok.
I export the same file to *.doc and opened it with OpenOffice and export to PDF using OpenOffice, the font looks no problem.
I have the option "Use LCD font smoothing when available" option checked in system preferences.
Does anyone have the same issue?

This is a known issue in Pages 5's tables. Pages 5 has been out for 9 months now and there is no sign of Apple fixing the issue.
Use Pages '09 if you have it.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I went to my device manager on my Windows 7 PC and found the Bonjour service in my Services and Applications section. I set it to manual and BANG iTunes started working like it's supposed to.
Unfortunately, I let my IPad get stolen on 17 Jan so I'll probably wait until after April to replace it with an IPAD 2!

However, with the last configuration, XVideo will not work.
If you have some time, in a few months, a better, faster version of the intel driver will hopefully be ready, it is being worked on (search for intel-batchbuffer on google).

Pr CS3 and Finicky Fonts in Titler

If its not one thing, its another.
Ive been working on a project that was brought to me recently yet started some years ago with Premiere 6 (not even Pro). Amazingly, Ive finally managed to coax nearly everything into Pr CS3. The problem Im running into now is with the CS3s Titler in that it outright refuses to display two of the fonts used in the older project. It only displays hollow rectangles for each letter.
The thing is: Adobe Photoshop CS2 sees them. Adobe Illustrator 10 sees them. Adobe After Effects 7 sees them. Not to mention MS Word, Adobe Type manager, Adobe Acrobat and even Windows Control Panel Fonts sees them.
So why is Pr CS3s Titler being so finicky? Is there some setting or secret incantation Im missing? These are TrueType fonts, btw.
I even installed them via ATM so theyd copy over to the normal Windows Fonts folder on C:, restarted the system and nada. Same problem.
When I initially imported the project, CS3 dutifully imported the PTL files without a peep. The moment I double clicked or even right clicked on a title file, either in the Project bins or the Timeline, Pr would immediately error then crash.
If instead I import the folder with the PTL files in to an empty project, a requestor pops up stating that the titles video settings differ from the project and would I like to convert. I OK for each file in the bin and theyre imported as expected. Now the titles behave as they should, except for the ones using the fonts mentioned above.
So why doesnt that conversion requestor come up when Importing a project?
Fortunately, my producer is OK with substituting a similar font, but thats NOT the point. Obviously I trust & use a lot of Adobe products, but with all the issues Ive encountered in the few short weeks Ive had this CS3 release, my conclusion has to be that it simply wasnt ready for Prime Time. Im sure Adobe will eventually sort it all out, but for now CS means something else to me and Creative certainly isnt one of them.

Special Fonts in Titles

I am using Premiere Elements 10 on WIndows 7. I have some Hebrew Unicode OpenType Fonts. They do not appear in the font menu, nor can I cut and paste text from another application. How can I use Hebrew characters in titles?
Also, is there a way to use graphic elements in either titles or credits?

When a font, that is properly installed into the OS, does not show in the list, or will not allow for Copy/Paste, it is almost always a fault with the particular font(s).
Adobe programs are VERY sensitive to fonts, and Titler (in both PrE and PrPro) is probably the MOST sensitive. Everything MUST be perfect.
Based on helping a user with certain Chinese fonts, I would suggest looking for the same, or very similar Hebrew fonts from a major foundry. That is what worked for that user.
One consideration with Hebrew & Arabic fonts is their character order. I do not know about Titler, but in some Adobe programs, such as Illustrator, one needs to have the language version of the program, that supports the Hebrew or Arabic character order.
Now, one option would be to use the fonts in a program, that offers full support for the fonts that you have, and then Save_As into a graphic format, such as TIFF. As all graphics in Video must be Rasterized at some point, when you do the Rasterization is not that important. I would look to TIFF, TGA, BMP or PNG, and not JPEG, which compresses, and with text, one does not want any unnecessary compression.

How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities. As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable? Have I missed something.
As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family. I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account. So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac. They do not appear in Muse.
To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool. However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it? Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
PS: I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab. But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts. (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:

o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:

Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :

Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)? It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:

If the PDF that you converted already has searchable text, please try disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel. (If the PDF was created from a scanned document and doesn't already have searchable text, disabling OCR isn't a great option, as the text won't be searchable/editable in the converted Word doc.)

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the function to reseize the Font in an iBook is not functioning properly.
I recommend a few things here. First close all the apps that are running in the background:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that, restart the phone, and try again.

2. Check for app updates
You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the app updates.
Note: Some apps may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
3. Install another app from the App Store
If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. You can also remove an app from your iOS device and download it again from the App Store or sync the app from your computer.Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.
4. Restart the app
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app.
5. Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
6. Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:
Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-right corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and then download it again.

PDF Format Oracle Reports font size is not consistent.

My process is generating the batch oracle Reports.
Their key map is:
Key1: %* server=server1 userid=xxxs/xxx@xxxx report=D:\sample.rdf destype=file desformat=PDF
My process is calling IAS server to generate report. IAS server is generating and saving the report in the specified location. The problem is sometimes the report font size is very tiny (especially headers & footers), it is happening for few reports. What could be the reason is there anyway to make sure that always the generated reports font size is good.

After removing system fonts and reinstalling fonts, FireFox will not start! When I start FireFox the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" opens as if FF just crashed??? I don't see any records in event viewer. I am using FF v3.6.3 on a Windows 7 box. I tried uninstalling 3.6.3 and installing 3.0.18 and had the same problem!

There might be more information from the crash report, but it might just tell us you are crashing the first time Firefox tries to use a font.
One thing I suppose you could do is select only those fonts you've got in Tools -> Options -> Content -> Fonts and Colors -> Advanced and then uncheck the '''Allow pages to use their own fonts''' option.

When using a path, jagged lines, not smooth lines, uneven lines

I am using a Mac, photoshop CS5
I created a path with Curves with the pen tool.
filled it in with a color light blue.
than I use the paint bucket to change it to dark blue.
This is when the curved lines become jagged, not smooth, uneven.
also I would like to use this as a mask, but with bg color changing from time to time.
any solutions?

Enable the retain transparency option when applying fills or use alternate colorization methods like using adjustment layers or creating the layer as a shape layer in the first place. Not sure what you mean by your mask thingy. You simply load the selection by Ctrl+clicking on teh layer thumbnail. this works no different than with any other layer.

I am needing some help. I own a Mac Book Air with OS X 10.7.5. This computer belongs to the school district I teach for, so I do not have permission to do a huge wipe that would uninstall programs such as Word. When I first got my computer, I added all my fonts. I did this by putting them into a fonts folder. The fonts were not all showing up in Microsoft Word, so I was told to use Font Book. All of my fonts show up and are installed in Font Book; however, they do not show up in Word. I have restarted my computer. All the fonts are validated. I have tried almost everything I could think of after researching answers online. Another problem--my bullet points are messed up. When I click the bullet button, instead of an open circle it's an open rectangle. This doesn't concern me as much, but I thought it might help as a clue as to what is wrong. The fonts also do not show up in the Format > Font box.
Also, I want to point out that my colleagues, using the exact same computer, network, etc, are able to download and use all the fonts. They have tried to fix mine, also.
Any help is much appreciated! Maybe there is some way to wipe out my fonts and start clean?
