  • Re Creation of Site Assets Library after Publishing site Title update

For some reason we don't need Site Assets library in publishing site so we have decided to delete that. But after Publishing site Title update Site Assets Library is getting re created . What would be the possible reason for that . Whether Publishing
feature is getting reactivated whenever title is getting updated.
Ashish Baranwal || To know what you know and what you do not know, that is true knowledge

    Hi Ashish,
SharePoint Designer has the setting "Hide from Browser' to hide the List/Library from browser.
It only restrict the user to view the List/Library links from browser, but if user directly use the URL to reach that List/Library and the user can edit or add new items.
Better set the ready only permission to users and set the "Hide from Browser" to the Site Assets library through SharePoint Designer.
Follow the steps to hide the Site Assets Library through Designer:
In Site Object Section, Select Lists and Libraries
Select Site Assets Library on right side, it's navigate to List Settings
In List settings-> General Settings, Uncheck option “Display this list on quick launch”. [This is necessary], Check the “Hide from browser”.
    Save the list.
Now the links are hidden from SharePoint Site in browser.
Follow the steps to Unhide the Site Assets Library through Designer:
    Open SharePoint designer 2010.
Click the “All Files” folder at the bottom in left pane.
Right click your hidden list from “All Files -> Lists” folder and choose property.
Now you have your hidden list open in SharePoint Designer.
In List settings-> General Settings: Uncheck the “Hide from browser” and save.
Now the links are visible in SharePoint Site.

  • Graphics look different after publishing

I am creating a new site and after publishing, the TIF images I use change color. I change the background color of the image which looks fine on iweb but different when published.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

    Phil:
I see all red links and only one has a mouse over action which is a green underline. Actually there are two that are just white text and not linked. You might try using the Publish all to .Mac menu option to force a rebuild of all the pages. That might do it.

  • Why do many Typekit fonts look bad on publish of Muse website?

I have published more than a dozen websites with Adobe Muse and Typekit fonts. I have really been drawn to Typekit and the beautifull fonts it brings into Muse. When I am in design mode on a Muse site the fonts look great. My problem is when I preview the site withing Adobe Muse or publish it online the fonts rasterize terribly. I understand that certain fonts display better smaller or bigger but even when I apply this knowledge in my design it still often shows a lack of clarity in fonts. Is there a way to help these fonts appear better? Perhaps I am missing something here but what I don't know.

Every OS, OS version and browser renders live text differently. This is true of fonts served from Typekit as well as fonts installed in the local system. I expect the variation you're seeing is the differences between the AIR rendering in the Design view, the Webkit rendering in Muse Preview and the browser+OS+OS version rendering for whatever environment you're using.
There's a 7 part blog post on typekit.com that explains all the interactions and variations across OSes, OS versions and browsers.

  • How do I edit HTML after publishing site?

What does it mean to edit HTML after publishing the site? How exactly is that done? From another thread, it seems that re-publishing will overwrite that HTML - is that true? Thanks for any insight into this.

  • How to make web pages easier to read?  If I increase the font size web pages look distorted and unusable.  The same goes for mail.  I love the ease of use with a MAC but at 55 I need better sized fonts without distorting the web sites?  Any suggestions?

As you can see I am new to MAC;s so please be  patient with me.

Yes, that made the fonts larger, but I lose viewing the full windows of Safari and Mail, the edges are cut off aand I cannot restore them by click and dragging them fully open again.   I appreciate the quick response, but I still have the same issue of ddistorted webpages and mail.

  • Fonts look dull when published

I recently published my website to my new server. The font colors are extremely dull.. the contrast seems to be off. Even when just using white text on black background, the white text within iWeb is nice and crisp, but looks very dull, sort of photocopied-like when viewed in Firefox or Safari. Photos and jpegs in general seem to be okay. Anyone have similar issues? Thanks.
    -Scott

No, there are no publishing problems. I agree with star-fish on dark backgrounds and light text. At least for these old eyes that is a terrible combination, hard on the eyes causing eye strain. I do realize, however, that I'm no longer the target audience for most of what's out there these days except perhaps for Depends, denture adhesives, etc.
I've found that for dark backgrounds fonts like Times New Roman snap out better than those like Arial, sans serf. You might experiment with different font as well as different boldness, etc.

  • Fonts look different after upgrade

ok so I upgraded something via pacman -Syu and now after restarting, I find that some of the fonts have changed, not that it's a problem but is this normal?
The words look smaller now and less bolded. Changes have appeared in both firefox, acroread, the login page, xchm and others which I have not tried.

even after adding nomodeset into menu.lst, I still get the same font with the login screen, firefox, etc.
    what should I do?
Is grub like lilo where I need to run something to update the binary?

  • Font looks distorted and faint with Google Docs

Hey all. When I create a Google Doc (spreadsheet) the text looks oddly thin, creating this weird, distorted, faint version of Arial 10pt. It only looks like this on Firefox (30.0) and not on Chrome or IE.
    Check out screen shots here:
    Firefox: http://screencast.com/t/rWaA1QXg9jIF
    Chrome & IE: http://screencast.com/t/ujtrpv8C
Please understand it actually looks a lot worse here in real life. The screen shot blurs the lines a little, making it look similar - when it reality, its VERY different.
This is a new problem and only happens with newly created Google Doc Spreadsheets. Any help here would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Sham

I'm not even sure why hardware acceleration was disabled. I have now enabled it, and it has helped.
However, it seems the text is not evenly spaced out. Some are normal space, others are too close together.
    Again, a little odd. Here's a pic: http://screencast.com/t/h8zHtwkP
Still trying to work though this. Any other feedback or suggestions are welcomed. :-)

  • Fonts go bold after publishing!

    Friends!
I have made a website as a first-timer using Iweb. Everything worked perfectly, and I'm satisfied with the result. However, there is one thing that bothers me. When I look at the page with Safari, Firefox or Camino some of the text on some of the pages has gone bold, which makes it difficult to read. I have been looking through the source-code but couldn't find anything that says bold.
The problem does not occur on every page, which confuses me a bit since I thought this was a template related problem, but I've used the same template, the black one, on every page.
Is there anyone out there who can provide a useful solution I would be most greatful.
    Best regards
    Ribban

I see a clear difference between the way they render. On the "om oss" page, Safari is rendering the text with anti-aliasing and making the font appear thicker. On the "konceptet" page, it's rendered as a graphic and is visibly "thinner" to me.
Now, taking it over to, say, Firefox on a PC, the "om oss" page is built with no anti-aliasing at all so that you can make out the two pixels in the upper bar on a lowercase "k". The image on "konceptet" is NOT the same as the text and appears bolder due to iWeb anti-aliasing the font when creating the image.
Your problem appears to be with how Safari intends to make the page "look" better by smoothing the fonts. Looking at the text rendered page with IE or Firefox on the PC is probably what you're expecting.
From thinner to bolder it looks like
    text rendering with Win Firefox
    image render
    text rendering with Safari
The only one that will look the same on both platforms is the image render, but, since that's still bolder than the Windows text render, the design may not please you.

  • Fonts looking bad after upload

    Hi,
I have used a special font, by that I mean a font which will not be found on most computers. Now within some elements, such as a some buttons, a few graphics, the font appears perfectly. When I check on other PC's the font is not what I had selected. Also, the font, when I run the movie through Flash CS4, appears perfect, but once I upload it, the font is not smooth and looks bad. I read up a little about embedding characters, and even tried the option which comes in the text box properties, but nothing seems to help. I don't think I grasped the concept well. Can anyone please explain how I can get my font to appear and look good on all PCs??
    Thanks,
    Aditi

Is this all dynamic text or is it text that is manually written in to the file at authoring time such that it could be static text?  If it is static text but you are using dynamic textfields, then try switching them to be static textfields.  If it is already static textfields, then you could try breaking the textfields down to being raw graphics (select the textfield, then choose Modify -> Break Apart, Modify -> Break Apart)
If they must be dynamic textfields, and using the embed option in the properties panel isn't working, then try embedding the font in the library and use it from there... To do that...  in the library in the upper right is a small menu where you can select "New Font"... choose that and select the font you want from the list.  Then you can assign that embedded font as you normally would, but you need to find the name it has in the library and in trhe font selection it will have an asterisk next to it.  So if the Font is named "Font 1" in the library, then in the font selection in the properties panel it will appear as "Font 1* "

  • Why does my AE project look distorted after it is rendered?

I just finished my AE project then when I rendered it the circle is now an exagerated oval. It is stretched horizontally. Is it my settings? This never happened before.

    > "It would seem that if the toggle is depressed then that would be the wrong setting instead of the other way around."
The default is to have each of the (square) pixels on your computer monitor correspond to a pixel in your composition. With the switch enabled, a scaling operation happens. This is compensating for how a certain kind of video monitor would show these pixels.
But, again, this is only for increasingly rare uses of non-square pixels.
You say that you didn't set your composition to non-square pixels... but you did, by choosing an HDV composition settings preset. HDV is not a format that is relevant to the work of very many people these days. Don't set your composition to this standard unless you have a good reason to do so.
You can correct these kinds of mistakes after the fact by changing composition settings, resizing in the output module, and/or scaling the composition to compensate for the squash that you've been introducing.
Please, do go through the basics:

  • Question - Y do my fonts look slightly different when publish site to .mac?

I've created a website on iWeb but when i publish it and view it in safari the fonts look slightly different. It's hard to explain but they basically just look worse. Can anyone let me know why this might be and how i could fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Quit iWeb, go to Home Folder/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Restart your Mac, launch iWeb and republish.
You should really convert any text done in "copperplate" to an image. Otherwise it will be converted to an (ugly) alternative on any computer that doesn't have this font installed.

  • Typekit fonts not working after Edge Animate project is published

Hi, I have added Myriad from Typekit to a Edge Animate project and after applying the font it looks great and even when I 'View in Browser' it works fine.
My problem is after publishing, the font defaults to it's fallback font (Serif-Sans) overtime in every browser.
Am I missing a step in the process of publishing?

    Hi Nathan,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  The fonts may not be loading because the published website uses a different domain name than your development site.  Please make sure you have added the published/live domain name to the domain listing on your kit.
To add domains, go to https://typekit.com/account/kits and launch your Kit Editor. Click Kit Settings in the upper right corner and add your domain to the domains field, then save your settings. When you're done, republish your kit.  The fonts will be available on the new domain within a few minutes of republishing.
If that doesn't solve the problem, would you share the project URL so we can take a look?  If you don't want to post it on the forum, you can email Typekit Support directly at [email protected]
    Thanks!
