Fonts not seen

Fonts in my main library fonts folder, and in my user library fonts folder are only being seen by Text Edit and Mail. Creative Suite 5 programs see System fonts and fonts in Adobe's fonts folder, but Freeway only is seeing System fonts. Font book says all are working correctly ( deleted some problem fonts that showed up). This problem appeared only recently, then myseriously went away and now it's back. If I have to have a Font in any of the Adobe programs I can copy it into the Adobe folder, but I need Freeway to update my web site and it's not recognizing the fonts that I've used.
Any one have any ideas about this? (I spoke to Apple support and while they were pleasant and sympathetic, they had no clue.)

Text seen in swf file but not seen in flash pro. publish

I am using fmath formula component for flash. when i push ctrl+enter, texts in formula object are not seen, there is only tiny squareroot symbol. however, when i open created swf file, everything seems normal. I use flash player version 11.2. . Also, everything is ok in version 9.

Are you setting the font that is being used to display the formula yourself? If so is it properly embedded and issued to the component properly? A quick way to check is to use a known system front (Arial, _sans, etc) and see if text shows up. If it does you're just not either embedding properly or aren't pointing to the font correctly in the component.

Fonts not appearing in CC, but are shown in CS5.5

I'm having an issue where fonts are not appearing in CC, when they are active in CS5.5. There's even fonts which do show up in CC but not all the weights.
For example: ITC Lubalin Graph. It has several weights. All appear in CS5.5 but only 'book' in CC. so that can't be a format issue can it? (TT vs PS or OT)
It's making the transition to CC frustrating and I'm spending more time working in CS5.5 than I should, as the fonts work there fine.

Don't seem to be any takers, so I'll ask the next obvious question... can these fonts be seen and used in other Mac, NON ADOBE apps like Word (or anything else which allows you to pick fonts on screen)?

Mac OS X v10.5: Fonts not displaying correctly

i'm not sure if this is a leopard problem or something else all together
in the last couple of weeks i have had strange symbols popping up within certain programs. for example on some web pages, these include wikipedia and one of news pages which comes as already within bookmarks certain words, usually key words or titles are no longer words but are built up of irregular symbols, common to that to which you would find within the ms word symbol window or something of the like. I decided i was finally going to add more to my address book to find all the title fields i.e address, mobile etc were now all replaced by the strange symbols. yet the detial within the fields i.e the actual numbers and address details are not effected. Even the name of my contacts are now unreadable. This problem may extend beyond my safari and address book but have not seen it in anything else yet
to combat this i tried resetting safari completely, but did not work. i don't even know what to do with address book
if anyone has had a similar problem please advise. i'd like to find a solution which doesnt involve rebooting my computer from scratch with a lot of effort to get it back to where it was

Your problem sounds like it could be caused by the fonts Helvetica Fractions and/or Times Phonetic. If you have them, dump them, as they are not compatible with OS X.

Embedded fonts not displaying Correctly

I have exported a 100+ page document from InDesign CS5.5 All fonts not in the system fonts are displaying as Minion Pro.
The fonts are listed as embedded (subset) and the fonts allow for embedding.

I have toggled Use Local Fonts without change.

I'm not doing anything to scale the movieClip. I press CMD and enter and thats what comes out. When I CMD + I zoom in and thats the second picture.
Regarding font embedding, I've enabled linkage and created a new class of it in my AS3 class file. Is there anything else I should do?
Oh..may be worth mentioning, all the text is actually Label components.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

A constant problem - active fonts not found in the font list.
And often when I can find trouble fonts, they're not correctly alphabetically ordered. I understand this may be the fault of the font author - not saving the correct screen name for the font so it matches it's actual name.
Here's a strange case - Homestead. An approach to typography I've never seen before - you're meant to layer up multiple instances of the same text object and alter it's subset of the Homestead family. But activate the whole family and you'll never find more than one of it's family members at a time. Activate just one and you'll find it (not in alphabetical order, though). Deactivate that one and activate another - now you'll find it. This makes it's very cumbersome to use the font as intended. What is Aunt Illy doing here and why?

You have a font conflict on your machine. Clear your font cache, you must have another font conflicting. The whole family loads for me, and shows in Illustrator.

Mail Fonts Not Working

As I was in Mail, I emailed something to myself, but when I found the email, what I had typed, was in a different font then my chosen font. I changed the font several times, but still, the font came out as a different font... which I Hate. Is this a known problem, and is there a way I can fix it? I am using Gmail with Mail.

In order to affect what font is seen at the other end, you must select it via the font button in the new message pane when you are composing. What you select in the Mail > Preferences does not relate to that.
Also there is a bug which normally makes it necessary to select a font which is different than the one you have selected in the Preferences.

Ipod not seen by windows or itunes

Hello, I'm totally frustrated and have been searching for hours. Please someone help.
- Nano 8 gb
- Windows xp
Neither Windows (my computer) nor Itunes sees my ipod. Ipod is working fine: did the menu/select thing, cable is good.
When I plug the ipod in the usb port I hear a bleep and I get a message bottom right "new hardware found ipod"and the icon is a usb cable. Ipod is not in My computer window. Ipod is not seen by Itunes
Tried Device Manager/I see Ipod with a ? Yellow. If i right click on it and do update driver the ms computer management system crashes and sends error report.
I tried dowloading the USB driver and placing it in the directory, but I got stuck because there is no windows/inf directory. I tried to update the usb driver with the same ms crash.
I'm completely frustrated, please can someone help me.

I was having the same problem the other day. I'm not sure what it was but I think it has something to do with the i tunes and i pod 1.2 update.
What I did was:
1. Uninstall i tunes
2. Restart my computer
3. pluged my ipod in a slow usb line
4. waited until my pc recognized it in there. It took a little while.
5. re installed i tunes from apple.com
6. waited until i tunes recognized my ipod
7. updated my i pod with my library it took a long time because i was in the slow usb plug.
8. re plugged my ipod into a 2.0 usb line
9. i tunes recognized it.
10. I then updated my ipod to the new 1.2 version
11. The problem started happening again
12 I repeated what I did before and now it is working.
It was very frustrating! I hope it works for you.1

5th Gen IPOD - Won't Sync and Not Seen by Windows

Help!!!
Tried the 5 R's. I have the IPOD in Disk Mode but whilst it will happily charge, it still is not seen by ITunes or Windows Explorer (though is visible inDisk Defragmenter). I have already un-installed and re-installed ITunes etc.
Prior to putting it into Disk Mode the IPOD still had my library on it and owuld happily work.

IPod touch: Seen by XP, not seen on OSX.

Strange one.
1st Gen ipod Touch with latest software(think its 3.3), latest version of itunes.
Its seen and works perfect with Windows XP.
I plug it into my Mac Book Pro, running Lion and its not seen. nothing happens wihen i plug it in.
I have reset, restored and wiped the ipod from the device itself and its still not seen.
I also tried it on a Win 7 machine and its NOT seen either.
Is this something crazy to do with 32bit architecture. Its seen on Win XP which is 32 but not by 64bit Lion and Win 7.
Any suggestions?

Just guessing at what you mean, try this:
In Mail, while composing a message, go to Mail's menu and click:
Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-friendly attachments
