Fonts Not Showing Up In Illustrator CS5.1

Hi there,
Would anyone be able to help me, my fonts that are all installed to my computer and that are showing up in Photoshop are not showing up in Illustrator.
I have read a few forums on this topic but none seemed helpful. They basicly said to install your fonts or that illustrator has a font limit so you are out of luck.
Which I am hoping is not true.

Maybe I'm missing something simple but I just can't get some fonts to appear in Flash cs5 on mac osx. they work fine in Photoshop / Illustrator, but don't appear in Flash.

Chinese font not showing up in Illustrator

Greetings, I am having a problem getting a font to show up in Illustrator (and every Adobe app) but it appears just fine in Word. The font is located here:

The blurb on that page says that they are specifically encoded using the Asian version of TrueType, meaning they would require the system to be set to an Asian region and have the default non-ASCII encoding set accordingly to render everywhere. I can't get it to render any glyphs here on my German system except for the generic placeholders or the substitution font (Times). I doubt this will ever work without changing the system language setup, but of course feel free to experiment with the various glyph substitution and text replacment options in AI in the prefs and character palettes.

Fonts not showing up in Illustrator CS2 on Windows 7

So here's what's happening. Since I installed Illustrator CS2 on a new computer running Windows 7 (please no lectures on how I should switch to Mac), certain fonts aren't showing up. They're installed and work fine in other programs, including Photoshop. And I have bought and installed new fonts that work fine. But when I tried to find, for example, Frutiger, which I use a lot, it didn't show up on the font list. BUT when I open a file that contains Frutiger, it reads the font fine and then it shows up in the list (only the versions that were in the document, not the entire family). But the next time I open Illustrator it's no longer there.
Has anyone run across this problem before? I had no problems on Windows XP, so I'm guessing it's Windows 7 issue, but I thought I'd try here anyway.

It's probably an issue with conflicting font names and font grouping information as in how it is embedded in the file vs. the local font names. I don't think you can fix this easily, but you should definitely investigate, whether you are using the latest version of the fonts in question...

Fonts NOT showing up in Illustrator but are in Fireworks (CS3)

Hi,
I have the CS3 package and it works great. However, I have a load of fonts on my system that are not appearing in the fonts menu in Illustrator CS3. I checked if Fireworks CS3 was picking them up and it is...this is great, but why not in Illustrator??
I also checked Photoshop, and they don't show there either. This is really weird. These are only basic fonts like "Helvetica" etc.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated on how to resolve this.
I am using Vista 64 and the CS3 suite.

Along with Mikey, I have a large number of fonts loaded but, when looking at them in the font list (with 'Preview' turned on), only about half of them actually display a font...the rest are blank. When I apply the 'blank' fonts to text, nothing appears. When I apply a functioning font that does show a preview, it looks fine. Maybe these are related issues?

Newly installed Font not showing up in Illustrator. Can anyone shed some light as to why?

Hello All,
I've recently installed .otf version of New Century Schoolbook into FontBook. It's working fine in all my other Adobe programs (CS6 CC) but for some reason, it just doesn't seem to want to work inside of Illustrator.
Can anyone give me a hand getting this font up and running?

Have a feeling the alphabetical order may strange like mine on that font. Did they tag the menu name to have Adobe bur invisible, not sure. Also Check for the calssic menu name not matching font name of "ITC New Century Schoollbook".

Enabled fonts not showing up in InDesign after Mountain Lion Upgrade

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, fonts that are enabled in Font Book (Adobe open Type) are not showing up in InDesign CS5.5.
However, if I go to Font Book and disable the fonts, then re-enable them...they will show up in InDesign.
Anyone know how to fix this?

It sounds like a small glitch in your Mountain Lion upgrade. If you're just done an in-place upgrade (not a clean install) these things can happen.
It sounds like you've found the workaround. But if you discover other problems with the upgrade, you should consider a clean install. Do a Google search on "clean install Mountain Lion" to find out how.

Hello, yes it is reproducing over and over. I look in the original artwork and there are 28. I did not save over the original art but “save as”. Worked on the new file for a while and now there are 47!. I copied all the content to a new blank, all colors removed, file and there they were. If I click on them can’t relink, won’t show a bounding box, no frame in wire-frame, no stray points. they are ghosts. Here is an image, to give a better visual of how they look in links panel. Only creative cloud subscribers get the new features. If you were a Cloud subscriber your version would be 16.4.0 not 16.0.4.

Fonts not showing up in InDesign CC 64bit

I find it extremely difficult to believe that Adobe have not found a solution to the issue of installed fonts not showing up in InDesign. If anybody has found a solution that does not include the "rewriting" of font types. Please assist. We specialize in Brand Management, and it becomes extremely challenging when Adobe InDesign does not show up the installed font in order to ensure Brand Management :/

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
I'm not sure if this is the cause for anyone else, but I had the same symptoms--almost no fonts showing up in InDesigns Font dropdown options.
THE SOLUTION: The new version of ID has two "font filter toggle button". They are the "Apply Favorite Filter", and "Apply Typekit Filter". It seem that in my install, the Typekit filter was on by default, which makes it so that the Font list only displays those fonts that originate from Typekit, as opposed to the thousand you have on your hard drive.
Click the toggle to turn off the filter and --zowee! All your fonts come right back.
I hope this helps some of you. It would also explain why people on both Macs and Windows boxes are having this issue.

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

Pagemaker has limited font support and will not be able to handle Hindi. There was a middle eastern version back in the day, nut I'm not sure if it supported hindi. Indesign and maybe some 3rd part plugins would be your best bet.

Illustrator white not showing up in indesign cs5

I have a white illustrator logo as an .AI file. When I put print over view on, it is not showing up.
The illustrator swatch is set to white process 4 color.
I looked at indesigns attributes and nothing is checked.
Any thoughts?

White objects inadvertantly set to overprint has been a problem since day one of the desktop publishing revolution. The day that a company or agency vectorized their logo is when the problem started. And the story goes like this: a logo is vectorized and colorized for multiple usage, in hopes to prevent trapping issues for the black version the art is set to overprint. Then someone realizes that a reverse logo is needed, takes the black version switches to white, not paying any attention to an overprint setting.

I am running CS4 on my Mac and after re-loading the software on to my new harddrive none of my computers fonts are showing up. It seems like just the few that the program comes with are available for use. They all show just fine in my other programs - Indesign etc. Can someone tell me if there is a place I should load my fonts folder so Illustrator will show my fonts like it used to?

This problem seems to be an issue with a typical Windows error where you have to RESTART the computer in order for anomalies to go away. That's what I did--restarted--and now the file works fine.
