Fonts & Page Thumbnails Not Updating in PhotoBook

Is anyone else having issues with iPhoto '09 Photobooks, with page thumbnails going blank and font display in the main document not updating after the fonts are modified? I ported this book project over from iPhoto '08. Print to PDF looks fine but it's hard to work when you can't see your changes as you work. The only way I discovered to get the page thumbnails to come back was to make a modification on each page. Nothing I try, including quitting the app & restarting, seems to affect the font displayed in the document, but the PDF reflects the changes.
This is my 6th book - I thought I had the program down but now this... Are these issues possibly related to my PPC processor?

Linda,
I am having the same issue. When I change the font or font size in Settings, the changes are not reflected on the screen. I have not explanation for this. I've restarted both the program and the computer all to no avail. I'm stumped. I may try saving to PDF to see if the changes actually have taken place but are simply not displaying. This is my 6th book too, but my first with iLife'09.

  • Blog Summary Page Does Not Update Picture

For some reason, when I create a new blog entry by duplicating the last one and adding new content, the Blog Summary page will not update the picture. I sometimes either have to create a new blank blog entry, or drag a different picture into the placeholder, followed by my original.
Is this happening to anyone else? I think I am going to finish out my year-long blog project with iWeb/MobileMe, then drop both! This is getting to frustrating.

    Perhaps to this person:
_blog summary didn't show the pictures_.

A wise move — problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these forums: Lost all blog entries or all comments or unable to publish, etc. If you switch to a dedicated blogging platform you're likely to have a better experience. • HT1338 Pages will not update on my mac!!

Pages will not update and because of that I cannot open pages files

It sounds like you already have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Page Thumbnails not displaying in Pages Panel

    Hi all,
Hopefully a quick question...I've searched through the Forum and not spotted a similar issue.
I have a user who is experiencing an unusual issue in InDesign CS6 - Page Thumbnails aren't displaying in the Pages Panel (such that the panel is completely blank - no new page icon etc.), and Swatches aren't displaying in the Swatches Panel (default swatches or new swatches - the panel is completely blank).  I've checked all of the Panel Display options, and have toggled the thumbnail display size up/down, and on/off to no avail.  This problem is also non-document specific, it's happening on all documents either previously saved or freshly created.  I've also tried multiple workspaces and that hasn't helped.
I've also tried binning the preferences  and this hasn't helped...
Any thoughts where to start?  My hunch is possibly plugins not working/missing, but I'm not sure what/where to check.
Any help would be very much appreciated...
    Al

I hate to have to bump an old topic, but replacing my prefs doesn't work either. Tried restarting the computer too. Nothing really works and I hate to have to waste time reinstalling when I doubt that would help at this point. (hates windows).

  • Linking Excel to Word - Word doc updates the numbers in a table but the format (font colours) do not update

I am using Office 2010. I have many graphs and linked tables to a master word document from Excel. The tables contain percentages and are formatted red if under -2.5%, yellow if between -2.5% and +2.5% and green if over +2.5%. The colours are correct
in Excel but when I refresh the word document, the numbers update but the font colours do not. The purpose of linking was to save time but if the colours do not update then the link is pointless. Is there any way to ensure the colours update as well as the
    values?

    Hi,
In regarding of the issue, I have a couple of questions:
Do you mind telling me how do you copy/link between Excel and Word?
Where did you store the Word and Excel file? Both of local disk or network drive, even website?
Did you using conditional formatting to display/format percentages?
Based on my tested, please try the following steps, it would be update all the information after the source was changed.
Select the table/chart in Excel> Open word >Copy>Paste>Choose Link & Keep Source Formatting.(See image 1)
If we changed the source data in Excel, then right click the table in Word> Choose update Link. (See image 2)
Then the data, format, font and color all will be updated.
    Hope this should help you.

  • How to set a page to not update the session

    Hi all,
I have a page that has Ajax on it and because it updates the
session all the time the page does not timeout!
So how can I make the page timeout after 20 min. like all the
    other pages??
    Regards
    Martin

Well, CF won't timeout for you automatically since you are
actively renewing the session every time you perform your ajax
call. You could always put a timer in to redirect the user to a
logout script using javascript after 20 minutes of inactivity on
    that page.

  • Thumbnails not updating after external editing.

I noticed the thumbnails are not updating after I use an external editor. When I bring the images full screen are they are representing correctly, but when I leave full screen the thumbnail still is not the latest image.
I tried the update preview and Aperture said it they are updated, so I did an option and update preview and that corrected them, but this should be happening automatically.
I did try restarting Aperture before the doing the "option - update preview" and that had no effect.

Do you mean it is suppose to be fixed in 3.0.1? Or do I have to wait until a 3.1 comes out.
I am using 3.0.1 now and that is where I am seeing the issue.

  • Pages is not updating documents in the cloud when edited on Mac

I edited a pages document – which was created on my iPhone – on my Mac, but it did not update. It seemed to be stuck on 6.8MB out of 12.6MB. So I deleted it, and reloaded it from my desktop, and now it is stuck on "Waiting" with a little cloud symbol beside it.
The document has appeared on my iPhone again, but it won't download (because it hasn't been uploaded), and it can't be viewed.
Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Never mind. Although it too well over an hour, it did eventually upload.
    Sorry for any inconvenience.

  • Bridge thumbnails not updating

I am using Bridge CS6 and at some point recently my thumbnails (using "filmstrip" mode) stopped updating after I had altered my RAW images.  I've tried to find something in the menus/Preferences that would cause this to happen but have had no success.  My only thought is that I recently "updated" due a Creative Cloud prompt and possibly that is when they issue started.  Has anyone else had or seen this and can anyone help me get back to where my thumbnails are updating? Thanks very much for any insight you can provide.

Where can I check my "thumbnail option"?  I've looked in Preferences and elswhere
It is a setting you can change under the little checker icons top right in Bridge Window. Left one sets quality to Prefer Embedded, right one let's you choose more options. For best practice set it to Always HQ.

  • Thumbnails not updating

I am using Photoshop cs4 on a Windows Vista PC.  I shoot everything in RAW, import it into bridge as dng files and convert them in Adobe Camera Raw.  Normally, once I have finished making adjustments in ACR the thumbnails update but this last few days that has stopped happening.  The same goes for the previews.  I get an icon on the thumbnails to show that adjustments have been made but the thumbnails remain as they did when they were imported.  If I open the images again in ACR the adjustments are there.  I have tried purging the cache but that makes no difference.  I have forced Bridge to create new application data but that too makes no difference.  This is really annoying.
    Sally

Well I searched under Tools - that only gives me options for Batch Rename, Device Central, Appending or changing metadata etc, purging the cache and batch processing with Photoshop.  I've also looked under Preferences but the thumbnail tab only give me options for what data I want displayed below each and an option to set a limit on the file size of an image it will handle.  Mine is set to 1000mb.  There is a Preferences in ACR and there was a check box that was not selected entitled 'Update Embedded Jpeg previews and a drop down box for 'Full size or Medium' . I have now checked this and selected full size and it does now appear to be working although my previews are smaller than they should be for these latest dng files.  All very odd really.

  • Refreshing page will not update the content referred JavaScript file of html in WebKit on Mac OS X 10.10.2

In our project, we use WebKit framework to visit a local HTML file which contains reference to JavaScript file. Our users can modify the JavaScript file and then refresh the page to see the change which works fine until we come up to Mac OS X 10.10.2. It seems that the referred JavaScript file is cached and can be never updated except restarting application. We have already set cache policy to “NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData”. However it didn’t work.
Besides there is a similar issue on Safari of Mac OS X 10.10.2. I find that refreshing the HTML in Safari will not renew the content of referred JavaScript file after modifying it. I have tried to check "disable caches" option, but it still didn't work. The behavior is different from OS X 10.10.1. Maybe it is a defect on OS X 10.10.2. Did anyone meet such issue? Is there any solution?

  • Preview Thumbnails not updating.

My normal way of processing photos is to preview a folder in Bridge, from Bridge open a photo in camera raw and process it there. If I'm not using that image immediately, I simply close it when I'm finished processing. Then I'm back in Preview mode in Bridge and I can see the photograph that I processed and the changes that were made. I've been processing photos from several cameras this way for years.
However, I'm using a new camera system. Lumix GH3. When I preview and process photos from this camera, the thumbnails are never updated with the processed image. They always show the original one. Even if I close that folder and reopen it in Bridge, I still don't have a preview of the processed images. If I reopen the photo in Camera Raw or Photoshop, sure enough, I can see the changes, the photo IS processed. But those changes never show up in the preview thumbnails.
At first I thought this was the particular SD card, which was new to me and supplied by the camera store where I purchased the Lumix. But I've tried several now, all with the same result.
    Any ideas??

It might be cache related, for test select one of the files that did not show the updated changes and with right click mouse menu choose purge cache for selection.
But a second thought is that you don't use the latest updates for both Bridge (should be 5.0.2.4) and PS (should be 13.1.2) and this causes the troubled behavior.
And it might be the combination of both

  • Ap 3.1: Thumbnails not updated

    Hi Forum,
After upgrading to 3.1 (which was a very good version update by the way) my thumbnails will not always update by theirselves after editing the photo. Also clicking 'Generate Thumbnails' from the menu does not help. Only repairing the database helps, after which I do not have to click Generate Thumbnails.
In my case Preview generation is off.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
    Koen

This is an unacceptable, workflow blocker. Among other published improvements and fixes for v3.1 that are not showing up for me since upgrading, I too encounter "blank document" previews of my photos when importing/exporting them to/through other apps (Firefox, Safari).
note: I bought/upgraded to iLife '11 around the same time. Related?
Apple: as a senior test consultant for a major digital audio/video company it is obvious to me that some serious test coverage lapses and risk assessments were made with the release of v3.1. Please respond and resolve these issues.

  • Color for published page does not update

    I built a web site in 2009.
I have just made changes to it in 2011.
I added 3 new pages, updated a few others.
I publish the site changes. Or I publish the entire site. Do each to MobileMe.
The updated pages colors turn from red to blue.
Then I want to keep a folder of the site, so I choose publish to a folder.
At this point, the updated pages turn red again.
I publish the site changes. Or I publish the entire site. Do each to a folder.
The updated pages colors turn from red to blue.
When I choose publish to MobileMe again,
    without making any changes,
the same pages turn to red again as if they were changed.
And the same thing if I choose publish to a folder.
Why do they change? How can I fix this?

    Yes I understand that.
But after it has been published once for each way and then I don't make any changes, they should not turn red and need to be published again. They should stay blue if I don't make any changes. Even if I switch the publishing mode.
I publish just the changes, then I publish the whole site. I send both to MobileMe. Then I switch modes. I publish changes and then the whole site to a folder. Everything is blue. Then if I switch back to publish to MobileMe, the few pages turn red again, after they had been completely blue after publishing them the first time. I don't think that should be happening. It acts like something is stuck.
