Fonts problem with forms on web
Hi
I have deployed an application developed in forms 6i on web. I have strange problem with Arabic fonts. When I browse the application from win'98 client PC I have no problems. When I browse the same with win2000 pro client PC, I have problem with fonts. Characters get displayed properly but they get displayed from left-to-right. Text on some buttons/display items is ok but some buttons/display items have above said problem in same form. Strange problem.
Please help to overcome this problem.
Thanks in advance
Syed
Hi again - i logged to metalink and saw, that there is a workaround for this.
The problem is solved, when I edit the form's package and comment the RETURNING clause.
It is simple for me, but if I give to other the ability to create forms, should I repair every of them ?
Is there a patch for this ? The problem with dblinks and forms is old, isn't it ?
Thanks for explanation.

Problem with attachment in web service
I'm writing a WebService under WebLogic 9.2 . My WebService API needs to recive and return an attachment. I'm tring to use a javax.activation.DataHandler object for the attachment, but for some reason in the WSDL file that being created, the DataHandler isn't being recognize and the "http://www.bea.com/servers/wls90/wsee/attachment" namespace is being associated with it (I'm using "jwsc" in the build.xml).
Does anyone encounter with problem ? and does the DataHandler is the right object to use for attachment (i want to avoid using base-64 String)?duplicate problem with a secured web service

Hi, I'm having problems with viewing a web page created with Adobe Muse CC latest release, I followed the various guides provided by Adobe, but the problem persists. The problem especially concerns the distorted display (the contents do not fit on the page, so it suits size automatically) to a mobile web page to be displayed not on a normal browser, but in a WebView.

Font problems with RH 7.1 and JDK 1.3.1
Hi there,
I've read all post about this and looked at sun docs on how to add fonts. I've even replaced the fonts.properties with a new one I got from sun's page, but I can't make jdk 1.3.1 load the correct fonts for JDeveloper.
Could anyone post here the steps to do it?
I've also tried JDK 1.4.1 and for the moment everything works but some wizards, which I must run reverting to 1.3.1 JDK.
Thanks,
IgnacioTo be honest, I managed to solve de problem getting the missing font from a Windows system (Ufffffff!!!!!). Now I don't get any font problems with JDK 1.3.1 but I find it very much slower than 1.4.1, and the problem is that JDeveloper wizards get weird in 1.4.1 and work OK in 1.3.1 ... let's hope Oracle releases a 1.4.1 ready JDeveloper soon.
Thanks for your message. -
Problems with Forms view in Web browser
I am having several problems with viewing forms in IE 7.
I am running Oracle 10g. When I run a form for the first time it seems to run ok. Then if I make changes and want to view the changes, the form does not refresh. I also have a problem viewing different forms...IE keeps displaying the initial form instead of the new one. I have to completely shut down Forms Builder and OC4J in order to see a different form, or changes to the current form.
Also, I am having the annoying text problem where after the first view, HTML code appears on the screen and I have to remove a digit from before the HTM part of the URL in order to even attempt to run anything. Refreshing the screen does not work.
Please help...this is really irritating...
Thanks,

Font problems with dreamweaver on Mac
Hi, i installed dreamweaver cs3 as a part of web premium
suite on intel mac os x 10.4.10. My international settings are set
to Turkish. There are some oddities with fonts. Dreamweaver font
list displays some fonts with CE suffix (Helvetica CE, Lucida
Grande CE ...) but these fonts are not installed on my computer.
How does dreamweaver displays these fonts? I checked the install
log and couldn't find where these fonts are located. Other
applications in the web premium package doesn't show these fonts.
Also, dreamweaver is having problems with Turkish characters
if I don't use these fonts. For example, I want to use default
operating system fonts Helvetica or Lucida Grande (which have
Turkish character support and works fine with Adobe Photoshop CS3
and Illustrator CS3) in css font family but Dreamweaver can not
display Turkish characters with these fonts. If I use Helvetica CE
instead of Helvetica, Turkish characters are displayed without any
problem but this is not an option because most people have
Helvetica (not Helvetica CE). Previously I was using Dreamweaver MX
2004 on windows and didn't have any problems with Turkish
characters.Update,
I have this type of code in the old pages on my body text I'm guessing it's because in most of my pages i.e. old dreamweaver mx days I've selected the text and formatted with the property inspector instead of css by mistake.
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">text eh?
</font></p>
But I want them like this so i can change it all with css vs manually.
<p>text eh?</p>
So I've followed your advice and searched and replaced the former with the later on the dreamweaver template page and on a few individual pages, hoping that will allow me to eventually use css to adjust it all.
I am very very tempted to do a global search and replace with changing
this <p><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">
to this <p>
and this </font></p>
to this </p>
but I'm kinda worried if I don't do each page manually and test each one, all 148 pages, oh joy, and check something it could bork my site in ways i'll take forever to find out and fix. Am I correct in worrying about this? -
Font problem with Montserrat and Maven Pro from google
Seems like some fonts don't render as they should in Firefox 29.0.1. I tried to use google web fonts like Montserrat and Maven Pro, no problem with downloading but this fonts don't look good.
I tried to install Montserrat to my Windows 7 (64) and deactivated css so that FF runs the font but same problem occurs.
A really strange problem is that from my computer at work this fonts don't work from FF or Chrome, all versions of IE is fine.
At home i have a laptop with same OS and version of FF and from home it works! But not Chrome..
I have search on the net and at your support site but haven't find any answers yet.
You can look at http://arenago.axiell.com for your self. Below is troubleshooting information from my version of FF where this problems occurs (Sorry about the Swedish)

Strange Problem with Forms (Smart Forms)
I have lately been experiencing a strange problem with standard forms in the system. We have WebAS640 / ECC5.0 System. Soon after the initial run of patches, most forms in the system are showing the character '#' in place of formatted texts.
I have searched the internet and most forums, but have not found a solution. Since this is the standard forms that i am talking about (unmodified and untouched) so i assumed this had something to do with our patch levels. However that is only an assumption.
In particular i am having problem with the billing invoice type RD00, form name: LB_BIL_INVOICE. I have traced the problem to this much. The form shows the expected text, where no character format is applied to it. And where ever there is some character format, it just shows a string of hashes ('#'). The style being used by this form is LO_STYLE.
I am also listing my patch levels in case that helps.

Hope somebody can help in regardHi Ashan!
Interesting problem. You are seeing replacement characters, because assigned font(size) is not installed (somewhere, SAP or printer).
But since this is completely standard, open an OSS-request - maybe it's not as fast as SDN, but I'm sure you will get a qualified answer (and solution).

Problem with breakpoints in Web Dynpro components
Hello experts,
I have problems with breakpoints in methods of Web Dynpro components. Sometimes everything works as expected and a new window with the debugger comes up. Sometimes the breakpoints are ignored, and debugging is impossible. It even happens that a colleague can debug and I can't or vice versa.
I am setting breakpoints with button "Set/Delete External Breakpoint", and the message always is "Breakpoint is set for user xxx". But sometimes when I display a method there is a warning that external debugging is not active. What does that mean and what is the reason for that?
As adviced in the SAP help document "Debugging Web Dynpro ABAP Applications" I have enabled the new Front-End Editor and the new debugger, but still the problem exists. Does anybody experience similar problems or have an explanation for this?
A second question concerns the different types of break points. My Web Dynpro component has an assistance class, and if I want to set a breakpoint there, I can choose between a session breakpoint and an external breakpoint. What exactly is the difference between these types? And here in the forum I sometimes read about internal breakpoints. Is this even a third type, or the same as session breakpoints?
Thanks, KarstenHi Kartsen.
External Breakpoint -> can be started from outside the SAP GUI (e.g. WebDynpro)
Session breakpoints are used if you start a programm or something like that in SAP GUI.
I have the same problem ... sometimes he does not recocnize a new break point ... so I just reload the page and the break point works.
If external debugging is not active, you habve to activate it in SE80 Utilities->External Breakpoints.
Also make sure that in your Settings the correct debugging user is set:
Utilities->Abap_Editor->Debugging.
Cheers,
Sascha -
Problem with ClassCastException in web application
Hello,
I'm trying to deploy a web application in WLS 5.1 and I'm getting the
"dreaded" ClassCastException every time when JSP tries to read a bean
from the request or session. Under my architecture (actually it's just
the regular "model 2" ) bean is populated by a servlet, set on the
request and then retrieved by JSP (servlet forwards to JSP). Everything
work fine when I register servlets in weblogic.properties, but
ClassCastException is thrown on any attempt to read from the request if
the same JSPs and servlets are deployed as web application.
Has anybody come across the same problem?
Thanks in advance for help.
Alexander
Hello,
This is all well and good as a temporary bug, but it's totally unrealistic for
the future. Two points:
* The ClassLoader doesn't need to be discarded, it just needs to be cleared.
* Other servlet engines seem to be able to handle this.
Hope it's on its way to resolution!

Problem with layout in Web Application Designer
Hi all,
I am working with the BEx Web Application Designer. Well, I execute a web template in the browser, click on right button and choose enhanced menu, query properties and mark the check box Display Rows as Hierarchy and Expand to and from the list of values (combo-box) choose the last field that can be expanded.
Once all the lines have been expanded and the layout of the template is longer than a page, we look for a line that is not in the first page and contract it. The problem is that when we contract the line, the layout shows the first page, instead of the page where the line had been contracted. I have tried to solve this changing the properties that appear when the template is designed, but I haven´t found the solution. Is there any way so that i can solve it?
Thanks in advance,
Mª del Mar Bonilla.Bonilla,
Welcome to SDN...
Try this out...
In the Query designer view , right click on the rows structure and select display as hierarchy. In case this option works fine , the behavior pointed out by you could be a possible bug.
Just update the result of what I have mentioned above...
Hope it helps..

MartinHi,
May be you can put an external breakpoint in the method "_get_attribute_rtti"(of class CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO).
From that you can find out which attribute is causing the dump , and try to solve the issue . May be some data dictionary object is not transported to production.(Assuming that you have permission to put breakpoints in production system..:))
