Fonts...re-installation or resetting default

Hello all,
I am working on my new MacBook, and struggled to load a new font, however, succeeded. Well, at least I think I did. However, now there seem to be issues viewing webpages and text is all jumbled up. I went in to validate files and fonts through fontbook utility to no avail.
Any suggestions? I am hoping I don't have to wipe things clean and re-install the OS.

Open Font Book and check the list of all open fonts. If there is a dot next to any of the names, you have a font conflict. Right click on that name and choose "Resolve conflict". Font Book will disable one of the fonts.
The scrambled text you're seeing is almost always due to corrupt font cache files, but is also caused by a couple of known bad fonts. If you have either Helvetica Fractions or Times Phonetic on your hard drive, delete them. Then download and run Font Finagler to clear the font cache files.

Unfortunately for the default colors has no good reference. But for text it is black (most lower left) color, background is white (most upper left color). Unvisited links is blue (column 8, row 5) and visited link is purple (column 9, row 5).

The LMS has no control over the playbar that pauses or plays the Captivate content.
In a Multi SCORM package, the LMS also may be showing a TOC in the SCORM player with links to launch the lesson modules. This TOC is in addition to the TOC inside the Captivate project file which gives access to sections of the module by jumping to slides that begin those sections. But the LMS doesn't usually give you any control over the look and feel or functionality of that TOC either.
If your client is adamant that they want complete control over these areas, then your best option may be NOT to build this course with Captivate but build it from the ground up with another tool. E.g. Flash, or Dreamweaver. Either way, that will add a lot more time and expense to the project. But if the client has the budget and is unwilling to budge on their requirement, then that's what I would be telling them to do.

Embedding a font with a library's defaults.css file

When I add the font-face and font-family declarations to my defaults.css file in my lib, the compiler complains about not being able to find the font. I've included the font in the lib's assets, so what else do I need to do to make it see it?

if you have other textfields that you want to use that font, you must create a textformat instance, assign its font property to match the linkage id of the library font and then you must enable the other textfield's embedFonts property and you must assign the setTextFormat() and/or setNewTextFormat() methods to your other textfields.

Resetting default application to "Pages"

When I open a downloaded document (usually originally a Windows document), and click on it, somehow it is always opened in "Open Office" a slow and cumbersome word processing app that translates MS documents and spreadsheets well but is too sophisticated most of the time, so I only want to use it in rare cases when all else fails.
Instead, I want "Pages" to be my automatic default app for such things. How do I reset default applications, in this case to "Pages"?

What Font is used as the default LabView System and Dialog Font on a windows?

What font is used as the default LabView System and Dialog font on a Windows system?
Can I use the default system and dialog font in another software (i.e; Win word or Illustrator etc.)

For Windows XP, the font is Tahoma. I don't know if Windows has a method for changing this (I thought it would be in the display settings, but couldn't find it). Maybe in the registry?

Happy Holidays to all. I'm using Adobe's Classroom in a Book. On page 12, the prompter to reset default preferences doesn't pop up, so is there another way to reset? Thankye.

You can manually delete the prefs file. It should be in Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings.
The file in that folder is called:Adobe Photoshop 5 Prefs.psp".

What do you mean by 'reset defaulted id' ? You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and you can then log in with a different account. But any content that was downloaded via the currently logged in account will remain tied to that account, so only that account will be able to re-download it and download updates to its apps. Using iTunes Match on an account, re-downloading its past purchases, or using automatic downloads may tie the iPad to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
If you mean that the account is disabled then you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'. You might then need to log out of the account on the iPad via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in to 'refresh' the account on the iPad.

Firefox 4 no longer shows a Reload and Stop button on the Navigation Toolbar, but has a button on the right end of location that shows the different states. During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button. If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
You can middle-click that button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Move the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.

Hi, I'm new to DreamWeaver and web design but am currently
taking 3 web design classes. I have had lots of computer support
and programming classes and lots of hardware and software
experience so far so I am not a complete novice. With that said, in
one of my DreamWeaver MX2004 Design and Application book lessons,
it had me tangle up all of my panels, (put some on the right, float
one in the middle, move tabs out of one and rename one or two. I
have looked through every button and menu item in DreamWeaver MX
2004 and don't seem to be able to find a "Reset Defaults" button
anywhere. Is it true that there is no reset defaults button, or is
there some other way for us novices to reset things? I did go to
the DreamWeaver update page and found a link that works similar to
"windows update" and reset everything as well as getting some bugs
fixed.
My question is, is there a reset defaults button anywhere in
DWMX2004?

We are in a situation where in all the portal pages are not shown when we try to change some paramaters in default framwork page and saved
Now only the top roles tabs only visible not even content admin is visble..everything is not shown except the roles in the top.

Restoring Default Fonts After Installation Issues

I tried to install a bunch of fonts on my new MacBook Pro. When I was installing them it warned me that a few fonts had problems. Then it hung up for several minutes before crashing. I would very much like to get my machine back to the default factory-installed fonts. Is there a simple/fast way to do this without messing up anything?

Okay, here's what I learned from AppleCare.
Before doing this go to Library>Fonts and drag the fonts folder to your desktop to back it up. Then proceed with the following.
1. Go to Applications>Utilities>Directory Utility.
2. Enable the Root User by going to Edit>Enable Root User.
3. Log out and log back in as the Root User.
4. Go to Root's home folder>Library>Fonts.
5. Trash the fonts folder.
6. Log out and log back in as your normal user.
7. The fonts should rebuild themselves.
8. Be sure to go back to Applications>Utilities>Directory Utility and disable the root user to prevent other problems.

[SOLVED] How to completely 'reset' default font setup?

In trying to improve the look of the fonts on my system, I've gotten myself into a situation where some programs either no longer start (Keepass) and others have blank windows (Thunderbird).
I've installed infinality--and then followed this guide http://www.binarytides.com/gorgeous-loo … ntu-linux/
So, basically, I've just made everything worse and would like to 'start over'.
Is there a way to put everything back the way it was (font-wise)--as with a new install (or close to it)?

How can I choose a font besides Myriad Pro as default when opening existing PDFs in Illustrator?

I already know how to do this for new documents.
But I work with PDFs generated in AutoCAD.
When opening these files in Illustrator, the default font is always set to Myriad Pro.
How can I substitute my desired font for Myriad when opening EXISTING files, short of copy/pasting into a new file? That workaround is just as time-consuming as resetting the font every time I work on a new document.
Illustrator has to be referencing something when defaulting to this font. It seems unbelievable that this setting cannot be altered.
Any ideas out there?

We get autocad dies from a variety of sources, quite often the font is .txt which susbtitutes to myriad. I use find font to substitue myriad to arial.
Since no doucment is open, changing the New document profiles does not help to get rid of Myriad.
You can record an action for this and set a hot key. The action is pretty fast

New keyboard shortcut didn't work; neither did resetting default

I wanted to create a new keyboard shortcut for sending mail, so I used the system prefs pane like the help file said (new application shortcut, select mail, etc). After creating my new shortcut (^X), it initially didn't appear in the Message menu for Mail. I quit Mail and restarted, and voila - but hitting ^X didn't send my message. That's annoying.
So I figured I'd set the shortcut back, and hit the Restore Default button in the keyboard shortcuts preferences. The listing for the shortcut I created disappeared from the menu, but even after quitting Mail several times, and restarting the machine, Menu - Send still lists ^X as its shortcut. Which would be fine with me, but it still doesn't send my message when I hit ^X.
My shortcut doesn't work, and resetting the defaults doesn't seem to be resetting what Mail thinks the shortcut is. Any thoughts? I'm on OSX 10.4.7, Mail is 2.1.

I used the wiki to compile it with ABS. It failed because I forgot to set it to be able to read EXT partitions, which it is located on.
