Fonts switch to the default Myriad font

Hi All,
Client has reported this issue on several iMacs (10.7.2) running Illustrator CS5.5 with Suitcae Fusion 3 containing a clean font library.
Designer can be working with text (on a greeting card design) and the font they are using (live and active in SF3) will suddenly change to Myriad Pro.
If the user performs apple-z, the font will switch back, therefore presuming it is a keyboard command (clashing or remapped?) as they cannot associate
the change with any menu procedure.
Any ideas

Mike,
Does it also happen when no other application is open?

  • How can I change the default header font in adobe acrobat?

    Hi,
    We run adobe acrobat 7 (ver 7.1.4)  throughout the office.
    We have a large number of pdf's to create from word documents and each one needs a header and footer.
    For official reasons these must be in Times New Roman font and 10 point font size.
    Adobe defaults to Arial 8-point.
    Is there a way to change this default so that it does not have to be changed individually for each pdf?

    You can save the settings and re-use the settings.

  • Preview: How do you change the default note font

    I use Preview quite often to annotate screenshots to give to my developers to work on. I find it nice, simple and has most of the features that 3rd party screen capture vendors have, that i need. The only real issue i have is the default font size is huge. I'd like to be able to reduce the default font size (and possibly choose a different font) to be my default. I have to change it every time i use the application, which is quite often.
    Does anyone know of a way to do this? Any changes to the plist file that i can make to reduce the default font size?

  • What's the default console font?

    And what size/weight is it? I used to think this font was ugly and unfriendly, but I've grown more attached to it over time. I would also like to use this same font in X, as my urxvt/xterm default font. Is this possible?

    I tried various combinations of Fixed, and I think that's the font, but the closest I got was size 15 bold. The problem is it's still too wide and some of the glyphs are off. I remember reading about the default font in Windows Powershell and most Linux Consoles on Wikipedia, but I can't remember what it said
    If only I knew! There might even be a truetype version floating around the net.

  • [SOLVED] Changing the default startup font

    I've been trying to do this for ages, but I've never been able to find any concrete details as to how to do this.  I'd like to set the start up font so that it looks like the one used in like Debian, Ubuntu, and other distros, instead of the bitmap font that I currently have set as the terminal font.

    It works ...sort of...
    It does indeed set up the startup font to be the desired font in question, but systemd keeps changing it back everytime it hits the
    [Starting Virtual Console] part.
    I tried figuring out how to get Systemd to stop setting the font, and currently I'm wondering whether commeting out
    FONT=Lat2-Terminus16
    part in vconsole.conf now that mkinitcpio has loaded it into the boot image thing--or at least I assume that's what it's done--might help, not sure though--in fact doing that may be a very bad idea...
    Okay, so get this.  Setting the console font using mkinitcpio works with Sysvinit, but doesn't work with Sysvcompat.  Sysvcompat changes the font back to the original setting when it hits the
    [ OK ] Setup Virtual Console
    [ OK ] Reached Sound Target
    part
    EDIT-SOLUTION:
    As it turns out the default font can be set for the current tty using a homebrew service file.
    Here's the one I use:
    # /etc/systemd/system/default.target.wants/vconf.service
    [Unit]
    Description=vconf
    # Virtual Console Font sets the console font to whatever font you specify.
    # setfont Lat2-Terminus16 -> Debian, I believe.
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    RemainAfterExit=yes
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/setfont Lat2-Terminus16
    [Install]
    WantedBy=default.target

  • What is the default theme font for ea & cs?

    Hi all;
    This was not answered before. Is this specified now?
    If the theme.xml file is as follows (which Word usually does):
    <a:minorFont>
    <a:latin typeface="Calibri"/>
    <a:ea typeface=""/>
    <a:cs typeface=""/>
    What font is used for:
    <w:rFonts w:asciiTheme="minorBidi" w:hAnsiTheme="minorBidi"/>
    I'm seeing Arial for a test case and I have no idea where that's coming from.
    ??? - thanks - dave
    What we did for the last 6 months -
    Made the world's coolest reporting & docgen system even more amazing

    Hello Dave,
    I couldn't download your test case (404), but I made a similar one.
    theme1.xml:
          <a:minorFont>
            <a:latin typeface="Calibri" panose="020F0502020204030204"/>
           <a:ea typeface=""/>
            <a:cs typeface=""/>
          </a:minorFont>
    document.xml:
          <w:r>
            <w:rPr>
                <w:rFonts w:asciiTheme="minorBidi" w:hAnsiTheme="minorBidi" />
            </w:rPr>
            <w:t>test</w:t>
          </w:r>
    This resulted in Times New Roman when I opened the document, which is in line with what I see in [MS-OI29500] §2.1.87/c:
    [begin quote:
    c. The standard states that the default fonts for the ascii, hAnsi, cs, and eastAsia attributes are application-defined.
    Word uses a default font of Times New Roman for all of these attributes. --end quote]
    I'm not sure why you're seeing Arial in your document. If you get that to me with a different link or via dochelp email, I'll be glad to investigate it further. EDIT: I was able to correct the link. I'll see if I can determine what's going on with the font
    selection for this document.

  • Why does the default theme for firefox 4 only work with add-ons such as personas? It will allow me to preview an alternative theme with a persona but won't let me apply it without switching to the default. No option for disabled and visually impaired.

    Firefox 4 will no longer allow me to use a theme (other than the default) with a Persona. When I "try on" a skin, FF4 allows me to ''preview'' the theme with the persona but will not allow me to ''apply'' the persona without '''automatically''' switching my chosen theme (disorganizing my menu's, bookmarks, and tool-bars) back to the default. Firefox 4 also begins to load an all-default setting browser when it is first opened slowing my browsing start up. All issues were not experienced before the Mozilla Firefox 4.0 upgrade.

    Hi David,
    Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
    Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?

    access-list 15 permit 80.231.64.4 0.0.0.3
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 POS1/0

    Marius,
    You need to configure "mpls ip default-route" if you want to enable label distribution for the default route.
    Hope this helps,

  • Updating to Mountain Lion changed the default system font

    I finally got around to updating my system to 10.8.3 last night. As soon as the installation was complete, I noticed the system default font seems to have changed. I've attached an screencap to show exactly what I mean, I know it's not specific to my current browser because this is shown across Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc. Any ideas how to remedy?

    Found this in the suggested posts- https://discussions.apple.com/message/21450701#21450701
    Solution: check for duplicate fonts in FontBook, resolve all.

    Hi,
    You cannot access the two settings indicated ?
    The Font Option allows choice of Font
    You can colour the "Balloons" as in my Pic and you can also colour the Font.
    I am trying to think of any reason why you may not be able to change but cannot think of any.
    Possibles
    Parental Controls does exclude you from changing some things in the Preferences (mostly in the Accounts pane and Privacy for AIM names).
    If you did not own the .plist this info is kept in there might be issues but I cannot say I have seen them before.

  • Setting the default on font size

    using a template from numbers.
    and
    trying to reset the font size.
    can one not change the font size using a template?

    I am assuming you mean the font size in a table.
    I have not made many templates but here is what I just did:
    New document
    Selected the table and set the font size to 18pt
    In the sidebar next to "Basic" I clicked on the triangle and chose "redefine style from table"
    Saved the document as a template
    A new document created from this template has 18pt text in the table. New tables I create are created with 18pt text.
    Is that what you are looking for?
    If you use one of the other table styles from the sidebar, you will have to do the same thing to them as you did for the basic table style before you save it as a template.

  • What is the Default Japanese Font?

    I have upgraded to OS X Lion, and I have noticed that there is a new Japanese font used. In the spotlight and also in Xcode. I'm wondering if anybody knows what font it is.. It's not any Hiragino font or Osaka.... I love it! It kind o looks like handwriting.

    Your shot is too small for me to tell what font it might be.  But 10.7 does not have any "Japanese" font other than Hiragino and Osaka, so if it is not one of those it must be from a Chinese or Korean font or something general like Arial Unicode.
    Open Character Viewer (Edit > Special Characters) and go to the gear wheel, select Customize and check the box for Japanese Kana.  Then select Japanese Kana in the list on the left and select the first Hiragana character in the list and you can see how it is represented in all the various fonts on the system in the Font Variation box on the right.  Which one do you think is being used?
