Footage differ on mini preview and the viewport window

god , it's driving me crazy now.
already worked on this for 2~3 days...

I scanned all the old photos of my family, around 5xx pics of all.I used a software named MemoriesOnTV 3.1.8 from CodeJam software, basically what it does is to pan and zoom the photos and add transition effects between the slideshow. i output the video as xvid encoded avi file, 720x576 25fps,since the manual of the MemoriesOnTV suggest this codec for consideration of both quality and speed.And the asset import into encore flawlessly,I've set my project to PAL ,and the asset is PAL , but why these weird black edges show up in the window,it's not a display error ,i tried having a thought on PAR and resolution,but after searching this forum and the help, i found that's not the problem.
I dunno why this happened,I've done whatever as the manual said, my project is pal ,my asset file is 720x576 25fps avi,all my avi file have the black edge,but the template from encore dvd works right, I've tried playing around with the graphics card driver,tried 704x576(same problem) 768x576(can't import),
btw,my avi file plays fine in mpc,full screen, but not in encore.

thanks for ur quick reply.i tried to output again , but i found nothing about dv .avi codec, only uncompressed,that's not an option for me ,too gigantic,my video last an hour or so...
but i do found microsoft 1 video,but after google.this is not for me ,i think.

and yes , my slideshow program has a lot bunch more transition effects than encore dvd,
should i install a dv codec by myself? which one should i choose,there r many floating around...
