Footage is skipping and jittery

I have been editing serval projects in final cut pro 7.0.2 it has been playing fine and working good but i changed projects briefly where the file format is different and now whenever i try and play the projects again the clips are skipping and jittery and it is not just in final cut but in quicktime player as well and it as never done this before.
the video files that are skipping their info is

H.264 isn't an editing codec. Search these forums for that file type. We say this daily.
Gotta convert to ProRes. And put the footage on a separate external hard drive. FW800 at least.

AVCHD footage plays green and jittery

Hi there,
I've ingested via Log and Transfer some AVCHD footage from a Sony hard drive camcorder. It comes in to FCP 6.06, however, when I view the footage in FCP it plays jumpy (plays for about a second and jumps back for a frame and then continues) and also flashes to green occasionally.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what this may be?

In Premiere Pro 2014 imported audio skips and is out of sync - version 7.2.2 was ok

I have been importing AVCHD Content in to Premiere Pro 7.2.2 with no issues. Now that I have upgraded to Premiere Pro 2014, importing that same AVCHD footage causes the audio to skip and finish before the video causing it to be out of sync. I compared preferences between the 2 versions and all settings seem to be the same. This is something clearly different between these two versions of Premiere Pro. Anyone else have this issue?

4g problem with skipping and connecting to computer

I am having problems with the ipod skipping and not holding onto a song. This means on occasion I will start a song and the ipod will randomly jump to next song or start playing and then jump. The seek time for songs has also seemed much slower than normal. This happens about 60% of the time. I have done 4 or the 5 r's reset, reinstalled ituns and ipod updater, tried the usb over the firewire cable etc. The ipod will not let me reset through the computerand fails to mount properly. I have attempted to access the ipod through ipod updater, itunes, and windows xp and no luck. At the same time it continues to read do not dissonect, while continuously spinning the hd.
I ran the internal dignostic on the ipod ( previous + select at the apple screen) to get the internal diagnostic. Accoring to this my hd is fine, and everything seems to test out normal. I am getting an occasional failure on the key test but it is inconsistant at best and can not be localized to one key. I have never noticed any scroll wheel problems
Despite all this (firewire checks out too), I can not connect the ipod to the computer, and am still having the skipping problems, any other ideas please? I am getting frustrated and considering replacing rather than spending 150 to 200 to fix.

I have encountered and come past a similar problem. At least the same error message. I encountered it when using iCal from a Mac though.

1) I turned iCal and Webserver of
2) I went into the place where calendars are stored (see Server admin, iCal and settings). There I found my down to calendars/_uids_ and deleted all contents. The same with principals/_uids_
3) edit group and/or user prefs for calendareing in Workgroup Manager
4) restart WebServer and iCal
Works for me at least. Hope it helps.
I will turn iCal and Webserver before editing user preferences in the future (if I remember).

Playback in audition suddenly starting to skip and stutter?

I'm using a us 122l and have had no issues with it all, even after somebody accidentally dropped a glass of water onto it a few months back. But last night when I was recording a song, just like I have been for the past year and a half, the program started to skip and stutter while I was moving along the multi track view. Then after about twenty minutes, audition would play one second of the song before crackling out into silence. I changed the US122's latency to it's worst quality and it helped a little, and the same when I use ASIO4ALL, but the program is still unusable.
I haven't made any changes to my computer, no new audio cards or anything, it's exactly the same as it has been since I started recording with it. It wasn't even an stressful track for the computer, it was only three tracks running simultaneously.
P.S, I'm using Vista, I have 1 gig of ram and all the audio on the rest of my computer runs perfectly fine through my default audio card, ASIO4ALL and the US122, (itunes etc). So something is up with audition. This is the first time it hasn't worked properly, so I don't know what it could be.

and no, I'm not recording a lot of tracks really.. I mean. I'm only doing one at a time, I'm not recording a drum set or anything, I was just doing vocals.
I have done tracks in the past with a huge number of tracks dedicated to clapping, and ambient noise things, and I've never had any trouble.
Just suddenly last night during a routine recording session it started to mess up.
I'm doing a virus scan now as a last resort, but I have no idea what changed that caused the computer to suddenly have so much trouble with latency, it's really weird.
Even looking online at forums and things I haven't found anything.

Iphone Music player skips and stutters with MP3s

With the upgrade to iOS 5 (and 5.0.1) on my iPhone 3GS (32GB) I began to notice skips and stutters on numerous MP3s about 10 to 30 seconds into the song. I don't remember having any problems prior to iOS5 upgrade.
The skips and stutters are somewhat reproducible in that, if I hear the skip or stutter, if I go back to the beginning of the song and play the song again, the skip or stutter will happen in approximately the same spot and will be of approximately the same nature (a repeated phrase or a jump or a distortion) but it isn't exactly the same.
Most of my songs are 256kbps VBR MP3s ripped either by iTunes from my own CDs or purchased from Amazon.
The facts (1) that the skip/stutter/or distortion is not exactly the same each time (2) the skips and stutters seem localized to the first 10 to 30 seconds of the song, then they play fine afterward, (3) that I don't have problems playing these songs under iTunes on my MacBook pro, and (4) it happens both with iTunes ripped MP3s and Amazon MP3s, would seem to be some form of OS problem rather than coding error. My guess would be some form of buffering issue or OS scheduling issue.
Has anyone else noticed these problems?

I experienced the same problem with my Iphone 5 skipping and not playing the music in my library correctly. I called apple and they gave me a solution that worked so far.
The problem in my case was created by restoring the new phone from icloud. Apparently, if you have a lot of music or data, the music files don't completely download.
Of course, make sure your music is backed up before starting
Solution: connect iphone to itunes / select the music tab / uncheck sync music altogether / hit apply or sync (this should remove all music files from your phone) / when completed, re-check the sync entire music library or select your custom playlists-songs you want on your phone / then click apply or sync to put back all music on phone.
This should solve your problems

IMovie Project seems to skip and pause very briefly during playback

I am creating a video montage in iMovie '09, though when viewing the project during playback the video does not play smoothly and seems to skip and pause very briefly while continuing to play. Each clip separately played smoothly prior to its addition into my iMovie project.

What kind of clips are these?
Specifically, if you right-click on a clip in the Event Browser and select "Reveal in Finder", then right-click on the clip in the Finder and select "Open with...QuickTime Player, and then hit Command-I in QuickTime Player to open the Inspector Window, what codecs are mentioned next to the word "Format:"?

Sounds like a corrupt download.
From iPad:
Delete the albums: swipe you finger across and tap delete
Make sure you have a good internet connection & re-download: Open iTunes app > More > Purchased
From computer:
Delete the albums: Select > right-click > delete
Go to iTunes Store > Purchased (in Quick Links on the right)

Try a hard reset first.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button
until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo appears after a few seconds,
and then the Home screen.
If that doesn't work, try a restore of the device in iTunes.
Otherwise, does this skipping and stuttering only happen with certain tracks? What format are these tracks in and where they come from (outside of iTunes or from the iTunes store itself)?

Quicktime video skips and freezes after exporting from FCP

I have tried exporting from Final Cut a few different ways, but my QT file had short skips and freezes in the video (the audio is perfect).
I have done this same thing several time with no problems at all. What am I doing wrong?

ITunes songs skip and pause the abruptly stop and skip to another song

Please help. I have had my macbook for just under two weeks and earlier this evening my itunes has stopped working properly. Every song i play it skips and pauses much like a cd, and then eventually stops abrubtly mid song and skips to another. Please help me to resolve this issue.

To skip and restart a failed worker, we can start adctrl, use hidden option (7 or 8 depending on the version).
Is it possible to do the same from command line?

Site skipping and jumping in other browsers

My site skips and jumps around when you scroll in IE and other browsers. The site looks great in safari..is there any way to fix that?

[iT5] "Skip" and "Remember" Don't Work on iPod

I have toggled the new options "Skip when shuffling" and "Remember playback position" on several tracks (MP3 and AAC). iTunes respects those options and skips them when shuffling and remembers the playback position when I come back to those tracks.
However, when I transfer those tracks to my iPod, it acts as if those options don't exist. When I "Shuffle Songs", it plays the tracks I've marked to skip, and when I come back to a track I've marked to remember playback position, it always starts from the beginning. Am I missing something? Do these options only work on the new nanos and phones?
I'm using a third generation (3G) 15 GB iPod with the latest iPod System Software (v2.3 2005-06-26) for all models other than the nanos and phones released yesterday.
If anyone has any insights, I'd love to hear them.

Same deal here with my 2G iPod. :\ However, Doug Adam's "Makebookmarkable" Applescript for iTunes still does the trick. I don't know if this will implement the "skip when shuffling" feature though. The option becomes checked and greyed out after the script is run.
BTW, this article seems to imply that the bookmark feature will only work with click wheel iPods:
