Footer and white space? Help?

Hi there,
I am fairly new to muse, but I have tried for so long to delete the white space at the bottom of my website.
When designing, it shows about an inch of white space which I do not want at all. The image below shows this.
I'd like the mustard coloured footer to be right at the bottom of the page.
However, to make it worse, when I preview in browser, the white space increases dramatically. See Below:
I have tried other solutions such as unlocking everything and then using the TAB key to see if anything small is affecting the length of the page, but there isn't anything. I have tried altering the page and footer setting but still unsuccessful.
Hope someone can help, thanks!
Simon

Here are the settings for the master page:
And for my index:
Thanks again for the help,
Simon

  • XSL mapping of ARTMAS IDoc - carriage returns and white space

    Hi all. I have tried all sorts here and am completely stuck. I am mapping an article master ARTMAS IDoc using XSL mapping and an extra carriage return and white space characters are being added to the FIELD1 and FIELD2 fields of the E1BPE1MARAEXTRT segment and I don't know why! These fields contain all our bespoke field values joined together so they are 229 and 250 characters long respectively, which I think is related to the problem. The mapping program looks like this:
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">
    <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" omit-xml-declaration="no" indent="yes"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <ARTMAS04>
    <IDOC>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/EDI_DC40"/>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MATHEAD"/>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MARART"/>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MARAEXTRT"/>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MAKTRT"/>
      <xsl:for-each select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MARCRT">
        <xsl:if test="(PLANT='D100') or (PLANT='D200') or (PLANT='D300')">
          <xsl:copy-of select="."/>
        </xsl:if>
      </xsl:for-each>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MARMRT"/>
      <xsl:copy-of select="//ARTMAS04/IDOC/E1BPE1MEANRT"/>
    </IDOC>
    </ARTMAS04>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    I have a test IDoc going through this and the first 3 characters of the FIELD1 are "BIK". If I look at the source of the XML file, the problem area looks like this:
    <E1BPE1MARAEXTRT SEGMENT="1">
          <FUNCTION>004</FUNCTION>
          <MATERIAL>000000000000895649</MATERIAL>
          <b><FIELD1>
            BIK</b>      0  0.00 T                                    000000001CARRERA FURY 04 20"     CARRERA FURY 04 20" 2005092420040622    X                    00000000   20031104 00200406140000000000                    0.00 0000000
          </FIELD1>
    You can't really see it above, but there is a carriage return and 8 white spaces before the BIK. Where does this carriage return and white space come from?! Any help would be really appreciated - this is driving me crazy!
    Many thanks,
    Stuart Richards

    Stuart,
    I think I know the cause to your problem. I am not an XSLT programmer but based on searching this forum I found how I can acheive the carriage return at the end of my document. Your xsl statement is as follows:
    <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" omit-xml-declaration="no" indent="yes"/>
    Change the indent value from yes to no. This should remove the carraige return. Hope this works for you.
    I actually need a carriage return and line feed on my document so I am still stuck. All I have acheived is the carraige return.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • Get-Recipient or Get-Mailbox and "white spaces" after import user to TXT files.

    Hi Guys,
    In this week I had small task to move mailboxes from old SBS to new Exchange user. I have done this task with small problems. I decided of course to use Powershell to make my life simple.
    Step 1.
    Get-Recipient | Select-Object name, Database | where database -Match "Mailbox Database" |  FT - Property name | Out-File -FilePath c:\ex_users.txt
    or
    Get-Mailbox  | select name, servername | where ServerName -match Server1 | select Name | Out-File -FilePath c:\ex_users.txt -Encoding UTF8
    Unfortunately I had to spent some time to clean output files. After export files I noticed that something is wrong with text format.
    How can I avoid "white spaces" ?

    We always want to do our filtering as close to the left of a command as possible. Keeping this in mind, the first thing I looked for was to see if Get-Recipient had a filter parameter and it does.
    Get-Recipient -Filter {Database -eq 'CN=Mailbox Database,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomin,DC=com'} | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Name | Out-File -FilePath 'C:\outfile-filter.txt'
    This seemed somewhat cumbersome because it required a lengthy DistinguishedName (DN). By the way, to get the DN of a database, use a modified version of this code.
    Get-MailboxDatabase -Identity databasename | Select-Object DistinguishedName
    I decided we would try filtering with the Where-Object cmdlet much like you did in your example. Noticed that I bumped it to the left so our filter ran prior to our select - something you should always do.
    Get-Recipient | Where-Object {$_.Database -match 'Mailbox Database'} | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Name | Out-File -FilePath 'C:\outfile-where.txt'
    Whichever way you do this, either the first or third code sample should help you write your data to a text file without the white space issue. I haven't looked at your second example but I suspect you could use some of this post to figure that one out yourself.
    Let us know and good luck.

  • Ipad error 37 and white screen HELP!!

    Hi,
    I have an Ipad 1 not jailbroken and using itunes on a windows xp machine.
    Two days ago I had a notification on my ipad showing an update for the ios was available it started to download wirelessly. When I can back to check the device later it was showing a blank white screen. I have connected to the computer which detects the ipad in recovery mode and attempts to complete a restore. Every time this throws up the error 37.
    I have disabled all antivirus software tried the update on three machines and two different wireless providers and still returns the same error. It goes fine up until about 80% and verifying firmware with apple servers then throws the error up.
    I have tried everything DFU, restore, ammending windows hosts file and nothing.
    The ipad is 2 months outside of it's warranty however it was working perfectly up until apples update
    Any help will be appreciated

    Hi,
    Well the apple store was less than useless! They said that it was a hardware failure that apparently occurred by coincidence at the same time as the apple update. the level of customer service is appalling.
    In the end after wasting my time with the so called genius staff. They told me without paying 158 to repair it there was no way of fixing it.
    So i came home downloaded the latest version of redsnow, jailbroke it, you have to have the most recent redsnow which is a tethered((( jailbreak (if its not the most recent redsnow i was getting the firmware 6000 ms error.
    Jailbroke pad and works perfect now, still won't restore through itunes but it works and I've now discovered the benefits of jailbreaking the pad anyway.
    will never buy an apple product again though customer service is shocking

  • Issue with variables and white space in powershell script that calls a command line command

    Guys,
    I have a question regarding this script. Each time I run it, it creates the share, but with a space after it. Also I need help figuring out how to put in the variable for the folder path.
    Below is the code
    $Users=Import-Csv C:\users2.csv
    foreach($User in $Users){
         $User.SNCORP
         $User.HPB
         $User
         cmd /c "net share "$User.SNCORP"=D:\Users\"$User.HPB" /grant:Everyone,FULL"
    The csv file looks like this
    HPB,SNCORP
    ccarter,carterch$
    This is my output in powershell
    PS C:\> .\shareflip.ps1
    carterch$
    ccarter
    HPB                                                         SNCORP
    ccarter                                                     carterch$
    The syntax of this command is:
    NET SHARE
    sharename
              sharename=drive:path [/GRANT:user,[READ | CHANGE | FULL]]
                                   [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                                   [/REMARK:"text"]
                                   [/CACHE:Manual | Documents| Programs | BranchCache | None]
              sharename [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                        [/REMARK:"text"]
                        [/CACHE:Manual | Documents | Programs | BranchCache | None]
              {sharename | devicename | drive:path} /DELETE
              sharename \\computername /DELETE
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Christopher

    There is no need to use cmd /c. You should be able to use:
    net share "$($User.SNCORP)=D:\Users\$($User.HPB)" "/grant:Everyone,Full"
    Use showargs.exe (from the article) at the beginning of this line to see the command line PowerShell is actually running (very useful for troubleshooting).

  • Runtime.exec() and white space

    Hello,
    I am attempting to run a DOS -based hydrological modeling from NT using the Runtime.exec() method. When executing the command:
    "Hec1.exe filename"
    the model runs successfully.
    When I try executing the command:
    "Hec1.exe filename > null", the method recognizes the string array as "Hec1.exe filename>null", which causes the model to fail.
    Here is the code that I use to execute the process:
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    String[] cmd = new String[4];
    cmd[0] = "Hec1.exe";
    cmd[1] = inputFile;
    cmd[2] = ">";
    cmd[3] = "null";
    Process p = rt.exec(cmd);
    Hopefully, there is some sort of workaround that one of you knows.
    Thanks for your time.
    -Joel Finkel

    and yes that batch file is correct but if you want it to be more usefull change that filename to $1 or %1 i forget which(been working in both *NIX and DOS too long)

  • Saved PDF files have white spaces

    When I save a Aperture created photobook as a pdf file the file has a white spaces on either side of each page. This white space shows up in Aperture as black when I create the book and is how I wish to see it. Is there a way to fix this in Aperture? Or can it be done outside of Aperture if needed? I have never edited a pdf file so I am unsure how to proceed there if that is my only option.
    The reason I ask this is because I am looking to get a large quantity printed from a printing service that will provide a more attractive printing price when large quantities are ordered. Would a printing service be able to fill in the white with the black that I see in Aperture. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Elliot

    This could be as simple as selecting a borderless setting for the page size in the print book dialog prior to using the PDF drop down to save the book. It is hard to tell from your description. The printer and page size options for the real printer do affect the generated PDF file and white space issues are usually due to not having a borderless page size selected.

  • Original picture turns black and white when adding layer masks.

    Creating a collage. Just placed a new object with a layer mask. Now I need to create a hue/saturation, levels adjustment layer and color balance adjustment layer all with masks. Ok, no problem, but when I do this, my original picture turns black and white. HELP!!! School project and has to be completed by Monday morning.
    Thanks. Dawn

    You haven't added a Hue/Saturation layer that's got Saturation turned all the way down, by chance?
    It might be helpful if you'd capture a screen grab and post it here, showing your layers and channels panels.  With a look at how things are organized knowledgeable folks here should be able to help or at least ask more direct questions.

  • White spaces b.w regions... how to fix them...?

    Hi,
    I've created few regions on a page... I am hiding/showing couple of them based on the selection from a radio group...
    my issue is that, for some odd reason I am getting additional white spaces for some of the selections (and not for all of them)...
    I've saved a sample on APEX.ORACLE.COM as follows for your review and comments
    Workspace: tparvaiz
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: tparvaiz
    Application: 28899     Default Date and White Space
    Appliaction Page No: 24
    ID/PW: TEST/TEST
    Thanks

    You are using dynamic actions to hide items rather than the regions containing them. This leaves elements of the region visible as extra space. Also the choice of region template may not be appropriate and include elements that generate extra space (the Button Region without Title template doen't seem right for the Proj_Order region as this doesn't contain any buttons). Use a browser with a web inspector tool (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox+Firebug) to find the elements generating the unwanted space.
    Either:
    <li>Change the DAs to hide the regions as a whole rather than the individual items (use static region IDs to provide DA selectors).
    <li>Retain the DAs that operate at item level, but use fewer regions, e.g. move the items into a single region.
    As Re: Image rollover, you may be using too many separate regions. This isn't wrong (in many ways its a good thing) but there should be good reasons for doing so, and you should take advantage of there being separate regions by working with regions as whole. Also consider using subregions to group related regions.
    A clearer naming convention for Dynamic Actions would also be a good idea: the current ones give no clue to what they do.

  • White space issues between content and footer.

    I am having white space/page length issue between the end of my content and the footer.
    I have read the forums and tried changing the page length minium height to 800 and then I
    unchecked the sticky footer in page properties on both the master page and the content page itself.
    Here's a link to one of my pages.  http://www.ueonline.com/rohs-info.html
    This page has very little content and you can see the white space.
    Any help is appreciated.

    This may be a little dated for a reply, and I'm not 100% sure your issue is the same as mine, but I discovered that unchecking the sticky footer option in site properties solved the problem. I should note that the website I was building for a client was über simple, and while disabling that function solved the headache in my own project, it may incur unwanted results in others, depending on the complexity.

  • White space between footer and content

    Just when I thought this software was starting to behave itself, it does this: pages adding a whole bunch of space. I haven't the slightest clue as to how to fix this. Have tried everything. A past forum mentioned expanding the HTML box. I'm not sure what in the hell that means except I've tried pulling it down to where the dotted line disappears. Doesn't work. How am I supposed to explain to my client that there's nothing I can do about this, that it's just a failing of the software? Does anyone have any solutions?
    Attached are two screen shots of a test page, one of the design window, one of the preview window with all the infuriating white space. Could it be that in the other pages there are widgets? I created this test page and master page from inside a muse project with pages that contain YouTube and Google map widgets.
    Thanks

    Hi There,
    A couple of things to try:
    Check your master page, and make sure the bottom of the browser, bottom of the foot and bottom of the page are set the same.
    Make sure there is no margins set at the bottom under 'Page Properties'
    Make sure there is no boxes or any objects sitting off the page at the bottom
    I think what people mean by expanding html box is say you had a collapsed Accordion widget near the bottom. If this was to expand or open, would it force the page to elongate?
    Hope this helps, I've had a similar situation, and usually that can be resolved by doing a few checks, but they are not always that obvious at first!
    Good luck,
    Ben

  • Footer text-alignment in fluid grid layout and another color in white space, not the body

    I'm working in a fluit grid layout. Everythings works almost perfekt. Accept for de alignment in Opera mini. Mini works not with %. So it must be padding, line-height and something else. But then the footer does not stick.
    In Opera mini
    If i want the footer to stick to for example the bottom. I'm may not use padding in de footer.
    De <p> i used for alignment in from the text. Now my footer must have a alignment in the middle of the footer (center). With padding in footer, it wil work, but then my footer will not stick to the bottom anymore.
    and i have also another question, about the white spaces in de fluid grid. I don't want to give the header, body, footer another color. But that outside of my website.
    With a normal website you give the html and the body grey and the content white. But if i do this with the fluid grid. The content because grey. Is there also a code for.
    This is what it must be. It is a example, not for real. But i really want to know the code for it.

    I found the wright code for the footer. Thanks a lot. I'm happy.
    I'm also searching for a code for max-height. For example one page i have less text, so the page is not filled to the bottom. I want for designing reasons this. So the page is always fitt from header to footer.
    It must not scrolled. Just complete for the desktop-computer and laptop. Is there a code for. Because there is already internet-tv and that are big-screens. It must be for all the browser also ie7, ie 6, opera, safari, chrome and more.

  • White Space and Centering Help

    Hi All - I'm so sorry to ask this as I am sure it has been
    asked a million times just today... I just can't seem to find the
    answer! I have the books, I have googled it.... I'm stuck!
    (obviously I'm a beginner!)
    So my question is: How do I get my webpage to "center" or
    "expand" to the monitor, and how do I get rit of the white space
    around my site??? I've looked at the code.... I just can't seem to
    figure it out!! I have Dreamweaver 8... my website is
    here... please take a
    look... any help will be MUCH appreciated!
    Thank you!!

    quote:
    Well thanks for the kind words about my site! When I view it
    in a larger-than-normal screen my page is to the left and there is
    lots of white space to the right.... thought it made the site look
    unprofessional, as I don't see other sites like this... is it just
    that the other sites I see are written with a different type of
    script?
    I should think that they are produced for narrower screens.
    My screen resolution is 1280 X 800, and I find it quite typical --
    especially for a lap top. When I opened your sight I could not see
    all of the content and was compelled to scroll to the right or
    widen my viewing window for full visibility.

    online tutorials, Google searches, and more recently this forum.
    If you want to design a webpage to fill a large screen, but
    still be very viewable for those with smaller screens, then you
    must make the content expandable. The dimensions of your content
    are all fixed.
    The suggestions that I have provided are an easy fix, but I
    fear those more knowledgeable than myself may tell you to start all
    over again -- well maybe not completely, as you have some very nice
    elements.

         <h2>Dog Training Testimonials<br />
           </h2>
         <p>Sending Otis to Brian for the board and train program was the best decision I ever made.  After being told Otis could not be helped and that he should be put down, I was devastated.  Otis has now been back from Brian's program for a few weeks and is extremely obedient and friendly.  He is the same puppy we brought home a couple years ago, but calmer and without any aggression.  We work on Otis' obedience daily as well as walk him and put him on the treadmill.   Thanks to Brian, our dog is happy-go-lucky and more approachable.  The list goes on and on of how Brian has helped the family, myself, and especially Otis.  If you are having issues with your dog, especially behavior and aggression problems, my advice to you is to trust Brian.  Your dog will be in good hands with a safe, reliable, responsible, dog lover that will treat your dog like his own.<br />

    The issue with that white space is explained by the use of relative positioning of your menu. Remember that relative positioning visually allows you to move an element, but that its "shadow" or "foot print" is retained in the document flow. So it still takes up space where it originally flowed in your content, and this causes the header image to position itself the way it does. Turn off the relative positioning of the menu to see what I mean. A simple solution is to set the #header to relative positioning, and then apply absolute positioning to the menu.
    There are other issues with your code. Much of it can be simplified, and you should really stop using ID selectors from this point on, and predominantly use classes instead. The use of ID selectors ought to be limited as much as you can - they force you to write bloated convoluted code.
    Try to write DryCSS (Don't Repeat Yourself).
    Here is my somewhat cleaned up code. Notice I removed and simplified most of the css selectors. Some have no css properties at all anymore. And be careful that you cannot use re-use the same id selector in your html  code: it will not validate. #program1 must become .program1
    PS as always, please backup your files before applying these changes! Dreamweaver lacks a history/versioning feature!
