Footnote numbers cut off

I'm having an issue in Pages 5.1 whereby my footnote numbers in the main body of text will get cut off if a) they exceed one character, and b) they fall on the edge of the right margin of the document.
Example:
Part-way through my document I have a footnote 12 at the bottom of the page, and in the main text Pages inserted a superscript 12 to correspond. However, it falls on the right margin of the document, so only the 1 is visible. This happens several times throughout. The issue remains if I try exporting to PDF or Word.
For academic writing this is a serious issue as it means footnotes do not correspond with their in-text references; half of my notes simply have a '1' referring to a very different number.
I have tried playing with margins, indentation, and nothing seems to work. If anyone has experienced the same problem, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Issue solved, in case anyone has the same problem and comes across this thread.
As I realised, issue of cutting off only happens when you 'justify' text alignment. If you want to keep your text alignment justified but not cut footnote numbers off:
1. First select 'Show Layout' from top 'View' menu bar. Makes what I'm about to explain a lot clearer.
2. Set the RIGHT document margin (as found under righthand toolbar Setup > Document > Document margins) to half a centimetre LESS than what you want the margin to be. (For example: I want 2cm margins around my whole document, so I set to 1.5cm.)
3. Now, go up to the ruler at the top of the document (will need to make sure 'Show Ruler' is enabled) and move the far RIGHT blue margin slider half a centimentre IN towards the centre of the document.
This effectively sets your document margins larger than your text margins, giving you buffer space for your footnote numbers.
Haven't tried printing yet but converting to PDF works great. Hope this helps someone!

Adobe Pro X and Bates/Page Numbering Cuts off 1/3 of Page - Please Help

Hello!
We have been using both the bates and page numbering features in Adobe Pro X on Windows 7 with various .pdf files. However, when we scan files using Adobe Pro 6 on XP in combination with a Visioneer/Xerox Documate 632 scanner, and when adding bates or page numbers to these files, the image on the page shifts and cuts off one-third of the image. (We use Adobe Pro 6 and XP with this scanner because Pro 6 is not compitable with Windows 7 and Pro X requires too many mouse clicks when compared to Pro 6; thus saving time in the field. We like the page and bates numbering feature in Pro X because it shrinks the document to avoid overwriting texts and graphics.
Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue aside from using Pro X with the time spent using the additional mouse clicks?

If you try to print any other document from any other application. Did you check, are you facing the same issue or not?

OK try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Field Cutting Off Numbers

I am having trouble with a field cutting off most of a number when 0.00 is present. The field is named FL025, and pulls information from an outside source. It is right-justified with a 10 digit character limit. It is formatted as a number. This exact same field on other forms works perfectly. I cannot figure out why it keeps cutting off most part of the number on this one. It isn't the field size, no matter how big I make the field, it still cuts off the numbers and half a zero is all that shows, or perhaps it's a parenthesis. I'm not sure. See clip below.

We are trying to help you find the problem. There maybe some issue with the format you selected. The suggested change is for testing and observation only. This is part of the debugging process. You could also use JavaScript to examine the field, but I do not think you can do that.
Normally the parenthesis do not display for zero unless the value is a negative number smaller than the amount the field is formatted to display and it is possible to enter a digit with more than 10 digits especially for decimal values.
An image does not provide much information. Many computer programs have data in a different format than what is displayed.
Can you post a link to a sample form with the data?
If the data supplied is formatted with currency symbols and a thousand separator the 'Number:" format will not display it properly. The number format only accepts the numeric digits, a leading sign, and a decimal point. The decimal [point might also need to be the "." and not ",". If it is a "," there maybe a script in the other forms that make the correction when the outside source is quired.
What version of Acrobat are you using? Database access has been removed for Acrobat forms but remains for LiveCycle forms.
Is the form being populated by a direct data connection or through some other software?
Have you tried talking to your companies IT support?

Phone line and Internet cut off overnight

Please can this be looked into immediately.
Our phone line and internet have both been cut off at 03:00am this morning,
I obviously cannot phone you guys to sort this so posting on here is my only resort.
The hub is still showing a blue light and the phone says 'check phone line'
But neither are actually working,
I need ASAP with this.

IMessages to an iPhone occasionally appears with words cut off from end

When sending texts from iMessages to an iPhone, the text occasionally appears on their iPhone with a couple words cut off from the end. It appears fine in the iMessages display/history.   Here's a few things I've noticed:
- It's repeatable. For example, the following message always causes the issue: "man, why are you here? Two are in testing places". On the iPhone it appears as "man, why are you here? Two are in testing".
- It's a problem with iMessages. If I send the exact same text from the iPhone, it goes through just fine. The message has to originate from MacOS iMessages. (I'm using the latest Mountain Lion and all updates as of 12/21/12)
- The full message is actually being successfully transferred to the phone; it just does not display correctly. There are two pieces of evidence for this. If on the iPhone, the user copies the truncated message and pastes it somewhere else, the full message is pasted! Moreover, on the top level the messages app (where you see the last message from all the recent people you texted with), the full message displays.
- It can happen with both short and longer messages.   Here's another longer message I noticed got cut off: "That's funny that you though I was joking when I said I was debugging. Why is that so weird?"
- It has something to do with the length of the message or how it is being wrapped. I can create modifications of those texts with the same length, and they will cut off. (That said, some modifications will not cause the problem, so it's more than just length. Maybe it has something to do with how it wraps the words?) Usually adding a few words to the message will allow it to go through.
- It always cuts off at a space. In other words, it will not truncate something in the middle of a word.
- I have only seen it cut off one or two words before.
Apple really needs to make this a high priority fix. Unreliable messaging of this sort is a deal-breaker for iMessages, IMO. My guess is that they haven't had more reports for this because people simply don't notice unless the last word or two totally ruins the meaning of a text and the other person points it out.
Can people try to recreate this on their machines? If so, please do so and file a bug report (http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html). All you have to do is get on your iMessage app and text one of those two messages to your phone. If it appears truncated on your phone, you've confirmed it. You're welcome to use any of my post in any bug report.

I had seen these in Quicklook at the point where the Message appeared to show double spaces after a Full Stop or Question Mark.
You are right that it have not dawned on me that I had not seen them between words.
It was TextEdit as well (Not sure why I said QuickLook)

Part of this means the iMessages sent out.
The "repeat" is the sync back from the the ID the iPhone is using.
I am presuming the leading numbers are the iMessage identifier that iMessages uses to tell whether it has been Synced

Title on spine of hardcover book cut off

Hi!
I've been ordering books via iPhoto for many years and was shocked at the latest batch I received this week.
I had chosen to do a hardcover book with wrap around cover. The title on the spine was cut off, featuring only part of it which was odd and looks strange. It should match what is on the front cover.
As usual, I did a preview before ordering it. The spine was not visible in the preview and I had no way of actually making any changes to it since
I can't see it in iPhoto.
These books are Christmas gifts for my family and I'm horrified that it was printed incorrectly.
I'm hard of hearing and can't use the phone - I have not been able to contact Apple since they only list phone numbers - does anyone know how to connect with them directly via email? Help!

I did see on the Apple "contact us" page a support number for hearing and visually impared, says they have advisors trained in accesibilty services, they may be able to help. the number is 877-204-3930. Why does text box info get cut off in certificate

I am using Captivate 7. When a student enters his name and pharmacy license number in the field is is ok, but when it is reproduced in the certificate (and the name also in the "Hello NAME welcome to the program") it cuts off the name if it is too long and won't print all of the license info if there is more than one license (it prints some of the second) .... it's like cutting it off becuase there are too many letters or numbers.
I have the correct field for the certificate, for instance $$cpQuizInfoStudentName$$ and $$v_custom4$$ .... it pulls the info in from the field, but cuts it off.
Any ideas? HELP. I am pulling what little hair is left on my head out!

It sounds like you have authored a drop-down field that looks something like this in the Design view:
As you know, the fillable form cannot display this multi-line choice label.
Unfortunately, there's no way to correct this issue other than reducing the amount of text in the choice label or somehow creating enough space in the form to accommodate the text on a single line. For example:
- reduce the amount of space allocated for the label text
- reduce the text size of the drop-down field
- increase the form width, then increase the width of the drop-down control
I will log a bug against the authoring application for this issue. The current behavior is misleading.

If Skype is warning you about not having Skype Credit to place the call, you may be calling numbers not covered by your subscription. Not all subscriptions cover calls to all numbers in a particular country. In many countries, landline numbers are the only numbers covered by subscriptions. To better answer your question, we would need to know what subscription you have, and what number you are trying to reach (you could X out the last few digits of the number for privacy, but we'd need to know the country, city/area code, and what type of number this would be).
Otherwise, you could contact Skype Customer Support, give them the specifics of your subscription and the number(s) you are trying to reach, and let them help you out.

Folder Titles are cut off.

If the *Keep iTunes Music folder organised* feature is enabled iTunes will rename files and folders that are within the iTunes Music folder. If you add files to the library or make changes to tags the files will be automatically renamed to reflect this. The general layout is:
<Artist>\<Album>\[<Disc No.>-]<Track No.> <Track Name>.<Ext>
If *Part of a Compilation* is true then a value of Compilations will be used instead of <Artist> above. Likewise, if the *Album Artist* field is set this will be used to set the <Artist> value which will make a difference if there are guest artists credited on the album or have a Various Artists album not marked as a compilation. The <Disc No.> is only prepended to the filename if there is more than one disc in the collection. All characters which are invalid within filesnames are replaced with an underscore. File & folder names are truncated to 40 characters inclusive of extention. If two or more files would have the same filename, the second filename is (where neccesary) shortened by a couple of charaters and given a trailing index of 1, the next 2 and so on. (Earlier versions of iTunes would replace the existing file with the new one of the same name potentially destroying data - although long since fixed this is another reason for my preference.)
Whether disc & track numbers are included in the filenames used to be optional within the iTunes preferences and, if desired, can still be disabled via a suitable hack.
If you disable the *Keep iTunes Music folder organised* option these rules will still be used for any music that you download from the store or rip from CDs. Likewise if you have the option *Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library* enabled and import files from outside the iTunes Music folder, the new copies will be created with the same naming conventions. What will be different is that if you make a change in iTunes this will not be reflected by updating the filename. If however you name files according to your own conventions and then add them to the library, iTunes will not rename them. Unlike Windows Media Player, iTunes will lose track of any files you manually rename so if you do go down this road you then have the extra effort of removing and reimporting files that you choose to modify.
I should make it clear that manually organising my music folders is a personal preference and not one I necessarily recommend to others - it's a lot more effort for no real gain. For a long while I had an iRiver H140 which I synchronised with my music folders. To make the iRiver easier to use I created a folder structure which separated out some sections of my library from others e.g. Comedy, Classical, Soundtracks etc. I also set my own rules for invalid character replacement and for compilations appended the artist to the track name. Although I no longer use the iRiver I prefer to keep this structure.
I used to keep the bulk of my library in the Windows "My Music" folder and only let iTunes manage the podcasts however the last time I did a full rebuild of the library I put everything inside the iTunes Music in order to take advantage of the ability to relocate a self-contained set of iTunes library folders. I know I should really commit to iTunes and stop worrying about exactly how my data is orgainsed but there it is... we can't change our nature.

Decimals cut off loading into Essbase via DIM

Have you ever run into the issue of small numbers (9 decimals) getting cut off/rounded when loading into Essbase via DIM? When I try to load rates into my Essbase app via DIM they get cut off at 6 decimals even the though the entire rate is 9. For instance, the rate 0.752615338 coming out of the source gets stored in the target as 0.752615. Also, if a load a text file with the 9 digit rate into my target app via DIM it STILL gets cut off. Therefore, I've isolated the issue to the loading of data into the target. I cannot modify the precision, however, for my target. Any thoughts?

Phone cut off

here a good on i just got the triple play on 8/21/14 and on 9/5/14 the cut off my phone service said someone at fios doubled my order. So i called at 12:30am this morning to see how to fix this problem and they told me in billing they had to add the phone back on to the account and the dept. that could turn me back on would been open at 9am sat and would give me a call as so i called them at noon est time and them told me they would add it to the open ticket number and someone from that dept would call me back today as of 2:20pm est no call back but i got a repair man here from verizon and i showed him the box and how it was not working gave him my phone with no dial tone he tested it with his butt set it was dead so he got the numbers off the box and he had to drive down the street to call the main office so he could get this issue fixed (cell service stinks) here and he has not returned yet either and now i have no tv either. as of 2:26pa est way to go fios i should of stayed with cablevision i still got 2weeks to switch back...

So it just turned off? Try holding the power and home buttons simultaneously. Then plug into your Mac and restore software.
Have you jailbroken the software?

OS 10.9 and Word footnote numbers

Mavericks (OS 10.9) has changed how footnote numbers are treated in Microsoft Word 2011. They're now rendered so tiny---both onscreen and printing---as to be unreadable. An unhelpful "genius" at an Apple store said Mavericks changed the "font hinting." Changing the footnote style within Word doesn't really help. How do I get Mavericks to treat footnote numbers like all the previous operating systems treated them? Or, alternatively, how do I actually communicate with a real person on the Mavericks team? Having unreadable footnote numbers needds to be fixed.

The option for Mouse Keys may have become turned on. To check for that, go to System Preferences > Universal Access, switch the view to Mouse, then turn Mouse Keys off if it is on.
Note that in that same pane there is shown a keyboard toggle for that feature - press the Option key five times in a row to turn it off or on. If Mouse Keys is the problem, that may have been how it got turned on. You can prevent that from recurring by unchecking that item.

Imported image sequences get cut off half-way through

Hi there! I'm trying to import an image sequence (jpeg) into Premiere Pro CS4 4.2.1 and having trouble getting the clip to play in entirety. My sequence is 24 fps and the footage I'm bringing in is a 5-second piece interpreted at 12 fps. (It was shot at 12 fps via Dragonframe software, on 1's). Unfortunately, the clip gets cut off half-way through. If I play it at 24 fps it's all there but much too short of course, and the wrong speed. If I play it back at 12 fps, only the first half or so of it shows up. All the files are numbered correctly, so there shouldn't be a cut-off. I feel like this might be some obvious problem, but google-and-forum searches have yielded nary a result. Anyone run into this or be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Background info: I'm on a Dell Inspiron 1525, Windows Vista, 32-bit operating system, using Premiere Pro CS4 4.2.1, importing jpegs as an image sequence/numbered stills. Not running any other software, codecs, playback engines etc. to my knowledge.

I went in to change the Indeterminate Media Timebase to 12, but there's no such number option in CS4. The lowest is 23.9-something, and 24 is the next one up. After bringing the sequence in and playing it in the little preview box in the upper left-hand corner, everything's there, but bringing it into the time-line cuts it off. Is this a glitch? Any other known ways around it? Worst comes to worst I guess would be importing the sequence in two halves.
