As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.
Does turning off OpenGL in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

I suppose it helps Adobe keep track of the amount and nature of issues encountered by the users.
These might then be addressed in a future update if the problem lies with the respective Adobe application (and it is not too complex) or if the problems lie with the OS or drivers the producers of those will hopefully be made aware of their bugs.
And unless you provided your email-address Adobe employees would have little chance of getting back to you if it is a known and amendable problem.

I can't do that since I do nothing with Windows.
It sounds like it was hacked to run XP and then makes it not run OS X now.
Only thing I can suggest is to repartition the hard drive to a single HFS+, GUID partition and see if that allows you to install OS X.

I get a crash thread when opening iPhoto After install of mountain lion.

I was told by apple tech support by phone to reinstall iPhoto. So I did. Did not work same crash every time. I took it to genius bar and he said I had to many photos for one library for iPhoto to manage so I should separate photo into smaller libraries or buy aperture because it handles large libraries. I have 390gb of photos and aperture gives me same crash thread when I open it. There goes $80 down the drain! The crashed thread reads: 0 DISPATCH QUEUE: COM.APPLE.MERCURY.KDATABASEMGR_MT and execution type : EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV). Exception code: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS AT 0x00000000000000.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Issue is that I was able to see any video imported or made directly in FCP. I have several projects in progress, and would need to remake everyone again....
I noticed that when I play a video, the beach ball comes up, but after a few minutes, the progress bar of the video itself comes to the end, and I have control over FCP again, but without the video. Audio is no problem, since I can skim through any portion, but not video.
I'm stumped, and need to think what my next steps are. But in troubleshooting, I don't know where the problems is, Mountain Lion, FCP or something totally unrelated.

I'm getting an error message when I quit Safari

Whenever I quit Safari after closing the window and then right clicking on the Safari icon in the dock to quit it, after a couple of seconds I keep getting a message stating Safari has quit unexpectedly asking if I want to report it.
I've no idea why this message keeps appearing as it hasn't quit unexpectedly I've carried out the quit action.
Anyone any ideas as to why this is happening, as I'm concerned something is amiss?

This happens to me to a couple of weeks ago.
It appear that every time I opened a PDF file in Safari ... it gave me the exact same message by quitting Safari as you have.
I my case by posting the Safari crash report HERE ... is that my Adobe Acrobat Pro 7x was out dated for Leopard - Safari 3.2.1.
NOW everything is running again smoothly as before, I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro 9x
So, this could be the same with a out dated plug-inn as iBod already said.

It all start when I purchased some coins for the Facebook game bejewelled & it's gone down hill from there.
First after putting my password I got a message telling me my purchase was unsuccessfull then was prompted to put my password in again which I did & a message flashed up for a second saying something about my purchase being successful but not downloaded but soon after my coins appeared so I didn't think much more of that. UNTIL I got emails showing my purchase, which would fine as nothing is free but I realised I had been invoice twice for the same purchase, so I panick think how can I can my money back, so I clicked on the report a problem highlight in blue & I'm transferred to iTunes, after a short while a message pops up telling me I can't connect to iTunes.
I've tried lots of different ways to fix this but had no joy, I can't seem to get onto iTunes to get any suport either but it's still letting purchase stuff & look & purchase music & apps though iTunes, I've reset my device & also plug into my laptop, checked all my settings on the device etc:-

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Hi Peter, Here's the report on the Indesign Crash. It crashes right at launch, starts to load and then shows the crash report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times. Reloaded Suitcase Fusion, and reloaded all my fonts. Run my cleaning software several times. Have been seaching the discussion board for solutions, and have tried all that I have found, still crashing on launch. I have two big jobs to start, and I'm very frustrated. Will upgrading to CS 6 resolve the problem. Seems to be from what I have read that OSX 10.7.5. and Indesign 5.5 are no longer compatible. Please help if you can.

Please excuse my diminished mental capacity... I have the flu, uuuugh. I pasted the report into pastebin.com but could not figure out how to get a link to you. Anyway, just wanted to let you know, I downloaded the patch for InDesign that you recommended, it continued to crash, so I purchased the upgrade for Suitcase, went from ver 3 to ver 5. And now InDesign is launching with no problems... Hopefully that will continue.
Just wanted to tell you THANK YOU for your advice and wisdom... it seems this stuff always goes wacky when you have a big job,

Getting hang/crash problem when I try to close browser window from applet

I have a small Apllet that has a button that calls a Javascript function in the opening window, to close the window in which it is loaded.
The Applet window is a PopUp window from one of my application's window. First time I start my application and load that Applet the button works fine. It calls the Javascript method and the Method closes the window using the self.close() method.
But now if I open the applet window again and click on the button to close the windows, it hangs. I put in trace statements and saw that it hangs on JSObject.getWindow() window.
I am using JDK Plugin 1.4.2_07 and 5.0 , if I work out on IE browser, it works fine.But when I use firefox or mozilla it gives problem of hanging/crashing.
Note that in case of 1.4.2_07 this problem experienced some times but in case of 5.0 it gives always for other than IE browser.
Please, if somebody could give me some clue about why this would happen, I will really appreciate that. and code related to this is given below

Getting Database Logon Prompt when trying to run report from Infoview

I have a user who has 2 Crystal reports loaded in InfoView. The reports are similar except for the parameters. When scheduling one of the reports, she is being prompted with the database logon information everytime she tries to enter the parameters. But on the other, she isn't. All she is prompted with is the parameters of the report. Which setting in InfoView or CMC controls the database logon prompt? We are on BOE 11.5.

Dynamic Parameters. You'll want to get all your report designers up on this topic.
When you create a dynamic parameter in a Crystal Report, and then publish it to the Enterprise, you are creating a Business View, with all it's underlying necessary layers. Dynamic Parameters exist to be able to use the same LOV (a list of current customers) from a database for more than one report. These dynamic parameter LOVs act like a mini report that runs against the database and gets the current values for selection, then the selection(s) are used to run the overall report.
So I create a report, and in it I create a dynamic Customer LOV. When I save it, the Enterprise creates a Data Connection (DC), Data Foundation (DF), Business Element (BE), Business View (BV), and the list of values is built on the Prompt Group. So, my Business View Manager, Repository Explorer will show (in the default Dynamic Cascading Prompts folder):

Customer (the LOV)
The idea is that next time I create a report and need a customer parameter, I select the existing dynamic group. If the report designer is unaware of this, and next time they create a new report that needs a customer LOV, they creates a new dynamic LOV "Customer", when saved to the Enterprise, it repeats the above. Since repository objects must have unique names, you will now have additional items something like:

Customer 2_DF
Customer 2_BE
Customer 2_BV
Customer 2 - Prompt Group
Customer 2 (the LOV)
So you can see how that folder will get filled with duplicates pretty quickly. Which ones were created and used in which reports? Have to open the report in Crystal Reports, open the parameter for Edit and verify the LOV name (_2, _3, _4, etc). If you do in fact discover there are dupes, you can change it to a single one for all reports using a dynamic LOV, re-save them to the Enterprise, then delete the dupes in the BVM.
You've already discovered how to use the BVM to update the data connection to include/save the database credentials. The only other common issue is sometimes the LOV rights need to be changed in order to allow users to "Edit" the LOV (select different values in the LOV). You'd have to run the report as an end user, not the admin account or the report designer account to verify that works.
Another item of note is that these dynamic LOVs are run by the Report Application Server (RAS), regardless of which viewer you are using.

Firefox will not open, I am getting a crash message when I try to open through Run on windows start up menu, then it will not transmit the error to firefox

When I go through the Run option on Start, it just says Firefox has had a problem and has crashed, we will try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts. I click on "restart firefox" and then it opens up another window with the exact same message. Also, I cannot remove firefox through the add/remove programs option on windows. I click on remove and nothing happens.

You can try reinstalling Firefox. You can get the latest version for free, as always, at [http://getfirefox.com getfirefox.com]. Just install it over your current install. No data will be lost.
If that doesn't help, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem.
