"For a video, or music iPod"

When an iPod accessory says, "For a video, or music iPod" will it work with an iPod Touch that has video and music?

Probably not, look for one that says it is compatible with an iPod Touch.

I purchased an adapter for playing videos from my ipod touch on my tv. It works fine for videos I have purchased but won't allow me to watch videos from Hulu Plus. What should I do to remedy the situation? Thanks!

The iPod TV out only works for aps that support TV out.  The description of Hulu Plus only states that iiPad supports HDMI video out (SD only)

i did the ios5.1.1 update and now the volume on my phone doesn't appear when i push the buttons on the side of the phone. occasionally i see them, but my speakers won't work for playing videos or music either. it does ring when i receive a call though, and for my alarm. ne1 else had these problems?

I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s.   Usually the solution is one of the following:
1-  If  your volume indicator says  headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
    2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
    3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.
Hope one of these works for you

  • Mac programs for transferring video to an iPod

    Hello everyone, first time poster
I just have a couple questions about iPod video. Sorry if I'm creating another thread about getting videos on it, but my questions just have not been fully answered in the other threads.
First off, I'm running Mac OS X version 10.4.3 on a 1.42 GHz eMac. So any programs that are suggested to me that run only on Windows or only show system requirements of Windows are of no use to me.
    Now here are my questions.
    1. How do I get videos on an iPod from a personal DVD? (i.e. movies I created on a single-write disc/re-writeable disc)
    2. How do I get videos on an iPod from a commercially sold DVD? (i.e. any regular DVD you buy at Best Buy, etc.)
    3. What format does the video need to be to get onto the iPod?
    4. What is the best program, free or not, in transferring video to an iPod?
    5. What is the best FREE program in transferring video to an iPod?
    6. Can I download video from a file sharing program (who will remain nameless) then transfer that video to an iPod?
    7. Can I change the format name of a video file that may not play on an iPod (say .wmv a file) to a format name that WILL play on an iPod (I assume it's .mpeg-4)?
    8. How do I transfer video from iMovie to an iPod?
    9. If I buy my iPod at a regular Apple Store (not the online store), get the AppleCare Protection Plan for it, and if a problem arises with the iPod and I take it to the store for support, will I not be serviced based on the content of my iPod?
Again, sorry if these questions have already been asked and answered, but I just feel better that my own personal questions have been answered, and I don't have to tag on other questions to a different thread.

    3. From the iPod tech specs:
"H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats"
    4. iTunes
    5. iTunes
    6. Yes, assuming you convert it first to a supported format. Use iSquint.
    7. You can't just change the file extension, you have to actually convert it. Use iSquint
    8. export a quicktime movie, then use either Quicktime Pro or iSquint to convert it.
    9. No. The content of your iPod will have no bearing on service (unless you install iPodLinux on it, which voids your warranty).

  • What 2T external HD should I buy for my macbook pro for photos, videos and music storage?

    Hello friends!!
What 2T external HD should I buy for my macbook pro for photo, music and videos storage?
    Thank U!!

My personal preference is for the OW, http://www.macsales.com Mercury Elite Pro quad-interface drive...have four of them of the 2 TB size and they are very good performers.  The quad-interface allows you a choice of ways to connect, eSata, Firewire 800/400, USB which is very convenient.  OWC is a Mac specialist so everything has been tested and guaranteed to be Mac compatible.

  • THE GUIDE FOR PUTING VIDEOS ON YOUR IPOD!

Hello all you Ipod 5g (video) owners. like you, I was extremely exited by the coming out of this Ipod and bought it the first week or even day that it came out in stores. most likely, you had no idea how to get your videos and was extremely frustrated when you got that error from itunes saying "this file cannot be put on to your Ipod because it cannot be played on it" well I have been doing a week of research on forums google and apple.com and have decided to make this guide so all you new 5g Ipod owners will not have to go through the frustration like I did.
This Method worked great for me and I hope it works great for you as well
First- you need quicktime pro there is no other solution from this that I have found so far, it will be well worth it after you get your first video or even your hundredth on the ipod. it is only 30 dollars too and as well as being able to convert and export your videos to Ipod format it plays your videos great and in full screen with great quality.
-Now you might have already done this and have spent about a day exporting the video to Ipod format finding that after about 15 hours of converting you get a video... with out audio!! that was one of the things that really got me mad. I'm guessing the file you tried to convert was mpg or mpeg 2? well I have a solution for that too! there is a program called virtual-dub http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdub/VirtualDub-1.6.11.zip?use_mirror=c ogent it is freeware and works great. what it does is convert your files to avi with the audio and video, when at avi format, you will be able to export them in quicktime pro to an Ipod format with the audio and video in it. WARNING you will need a MASSIVE HARD DRIVE for this! make sure you have from 2-20gb of space depending on the hard drive, or better yet, have the avi saved to your Ipod hard drive! well.. after you have converted your video to avi format open it in quicktime pro, click on file>Export>save as an mpeg4 file (MUCH FASTER!!)>go to options> click on audio>make the audio settings as pass through as it will sound much better>go to video and change the image size 320 by 240>click ok. it should then start to export the file and take about 30 minutes due to exporting as a mpeg4 file is just much faster than exporting it specifically as the Ipod setting. remember to delete the avi file after you successfully get it exported as an mpeg4 file if you don't want your hard drive to become extremely full. then simply add your file to itunes and drag it to the Ipod video and enjoy! tip if you have alot of files I recommend making some folders like *converted to avi* and *ready to unload to Ipod* it made things alot easier for me.
please post comments criticizing and subjecting things to add to my guide

You see Daniel. I Told you there would be more interest over in the iPod section.
Unfortunatly, the app only works on Mac OS X .

  • Time Capsule vs Seagate for professional video and music

    Hi there,
I don´t know what to purchase, I want an external hard drive to storage my music and videos as well my photos work, and keep my computer free in space. But if all my documents are in my hard drive, so I wouldn´t backup my documents but only in the hard drive, What a good idea would be to have a seagate? So that I can create a cloud and store my data there, so if the seagate will fail I could recover my documents from the cloud.
I am thinking to purchase a timecapsule 3TB or a Seagate Business Storage 4TB
    Thanks a lot!!!

Backing up over wireless.....no matter which drive you choose.....is going to be 5-10 times slower than backing up using a direct wired connection.
So, in addition to delays, there are 5-10 times more chances of an error occurring over wireless, damaging or corrupting your important data.
    Are you OK with this?

  • Sound For The Video

Thanks for your help on the other topic. Im trying to get the sound working for my music videos on a 30 G ipod. Videora iPod Converter was recomended for Windows, does anyone know where i can find this converter download or any other converter that might work better than this one. and is it easy to use, and how would the process work, would it automatically change the setting for my videos on the ipod once the setup for the converter is complete? i know i'd probably have to run the video through it. thanks again.

    Hi, Darlene:
You probably have an AMD video chip on your notebook, and it is highly unlikely that the driver from the AMD website will work--especially if it has switchable graphics (onboard Intel + discrete AMD graphics).
Check your notebook's support and driver page and only install the latest drivers listed on that page.

  • How do I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

My itunes PC no longer works.  How can I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

You can't transfer music from an iPod to a PC.  Apple do not provide that facility.  It can be done with third party software though.  There are a variety of these available though so search google for 'ipod to itunes'.

How come although iPads are getting more powerful, the iOS apps from apple are so mediocre and just not that great? We spend all this money for the latest ipad and all we get is these $5 video and music apps from apple. Why create the iOS platform and only offer so so apps like IMovie and GarageBand ? While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Need to get all the files, well music and video, from my ipod touch 5th gen to my itunes libary.

Need to get all the files, (well music and video), from my ipod touch 5th gen to my itunes libary. (So basically sync the other way to normal)
Laptop hard drive broke so had to buy a new one and obviously now need to sort out my itunes.
Did try downloading all my purchased stuff onto itunes but it has missed some things off, and there are some files I did not purchase from itunes so need a way of getting them back on there.
Sure this question has been asked a million times but can't find anything to help me on here so thought I'd ask.
-Did have a look at going onto the start menu and opening the hidden items thing but couldn't see any reference to ipod or device on it so wasn't sure how to do it that way.
-On itunes under my device when its connected, the section about manually restoring and backing up, would that help me? Because that says it will manually back up my ipod to my computer then could restore that back up, obviously I don't want to accidnetally get rid of everything on my ipod so didn't want to try that just in case without checking.
(And yes I have disabled auto sync to device when conncected!)
Can anyone help me please? Sorry if i've overcomplicated this!
    Thanks:)
    Chris

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media.  You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else.  As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC.  Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

  • Music Videos into Music Video menu on iPod

OK - so for years now I've been buying CD singles with the videos on, and spend many hours now converting them to iPod using QT Pro so I can finally watch them on my iPod. So converting to an MP4 using the H.264 codec took forever (at least 3 hours for a 4 min 320x196 video), so I opted for the standard MP4 as this is much quicker. Drop them into iTunes and YAY! I can sync them.
The music videos play flawlessly - I'm very happy with that aspect, but the bit that annoys me the most is why they don't show up under the Music Videos sub menu in Videos. Instead I have to go to Movies and then to a play list I created called Music Videos.
Perhaps its because of the genre? Well thats what I thought - as after looking at a friends music video he has bought from the iTMS, the only difference I can see is the genre. So I added Music Video to the genre and synced my iPod, expecting them to all of a sudden appear in that sub menu. But alas no.
So the question: is it possible to get home ripped/converted music videos from CDs or elsewhere onto the iPod to display in the Music Videos menu? If not WHY WHY WHY??!
    thanks in advance.
    pac

After you convert a video and put it into itunes it is defaulted to being a movie. But you can specify it as a music video. Select a music video within your itunes library. Select the info for that video. A seperate window appears. Go to the options window and winthin that area you can select what type of video that certain file is whether a movie or music vidoe. Select the proper video type and then that converted video will appear within the music video field on yoru itunes and ipod after syncing.

  • Trying to loop/repeat a video for a continuous presentation on ipod touch

If anyone could help me out here, I'm trying to display a video from the ipod touch on a projector, it's just a 1 minute loop and so far I have no luck trying to get it to loop. I have tried to set it to repeat in photo libraries and play but it still never starts over. I have tried an app called CWG's Video Loop Presenter which seems to work but only on the ipod, and doesn't project the video into the projector. If you guys could help me out then that would be great. Thank you.

Thank you for the help, I resolved it a few minutes ago by making the video into a music video through the Get Info option and it is now in my Music app and I'm able to loop it just like I would loop a regular song.
    Thanks!

  • Disappearing music/video library on iPod

its happening maybe after i do something CPU intensive like map and safari use; i return to my libraries and nothing there just white. after about 20sec it flashes up for less than a sec but quits straight to home menu. only upon hard reset do they appear again; only for it to happen again after browsing web or that. have resynced from scratch
no-ones mentioned this; hoping it's not an isolated case...
