? For Acrobat X Pro Users

I'm currently using 8 Pro. What I'm wondering is are you seeing less errors in the OCR results? I'm using it a lot right now and in 8 Pro, I'm having a lot of errors considering I'm using the OCR on scans at 1,200 dpi of sharp clear Arial Text. Even so I get an error on about every fifth word. That means using the OCR is no faster than simply retyping the documents which kind of negates the whole point of an OCR.
I'm thinking of upgrading and wondered what results others were getting, if you use that feature at all.

Mainly I was hoping Acrobat X's counterpart which I assume will be CS6 would come out before I upgraded as I'm going to need the CS6 Suite it comes with. As 9 comes with CS5 I wonder if X will indeed come with CS6? Trying to figue out my best option looking at all needed software as I need to update InDesign and others as well. I have PS CS5 but am still using older versions of everything else.
I'll give the trial a try as a better OCR result would make waiting wrong minded. It will make my Wife happier also as she does data entry so fast she almost negates any need for an OCR, but she hates it.

Adobe stopped all support for 3D file conversion with the introduction of the Acrobat X Family back in 2010. There have been and will be no further updates to the 3D import functionality. The translation engine that used to be in Pro Extended is now sold as a commercial product by Tetra4D, but it's not compatible with Acrobat 9.

Need for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-on

Can anyone tell me if this 34 KB add-on is necessary for Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.5.2? Can find no infomation on Adobe's website about it. It was installed with original software on 8/2011.

All I can tell you is it's title in the "Programs and Features" tool of Windows 7. To whit: "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On." It has an installation date of 8-30-2011 and is only 34KB in size, according to Windows. It is listed below the Main Acrobat 9 Pro program, which doesn't give it's size, but does give the current version of 9.5.2, which is the latest for Acrobat 9 Pro as far as I know.
The one thing I want to establish is whether this add-on is necessary for the current version of Acrobat 9 Pro to function or not. I can find no guidance on Acrobat's website; at least a search reveals nothing anyway. And it is not referenced in their update site at all. If worse comes to worse, I will call them for guidance because our security types are listing it as a problem, and I am wondering if they are confusing this add-on with the main program.

You will still need your SN. As long as you registered, you can just add a tab in your browser and go to Adobe.com. In the upper right corner there should be a welcome with your name. Move to the small down arrow and select My Products and Services. That should give you your SN of the products that have been registered. Please make a backup of your download and SN for the future. If you had an upgrade version, you will also need the SN of the qualifying product.

Some of the older products used to be at ProDesignTools: Adobe® Developments in Focus, but apparently that has ended. If you know of someone local who has the product, you could probably just make a copy of the CD and use that. You will still need your S/N for the install. If you are installing on Win 8, then good luck if you can get a copy of the CD. AA 8 apparently does not work on Win 8 and I don't remember any comments about AA 9 on Win 8 either.

I am using the download Assistant. And no matter where i click, it only ever gets me to the download of the Acrobat XI Pro, but not the Acrobat X.
Even when you go to the product page of creative suit it tells you try or buy Acrobat X, but when you click try you get to Acrobat XI download.
This is really frustrating, as I purchased this product and am not able to use it. And no body seems to be able to tell me were i can find the right link to download it.
I have tried chatting to the online support team, but they dont deal with Acrobat problems (which took him half an hour to tell me).
I have never encountered a more complicated way of finding all the right downloads.
Is it not possible for you to email me a link to the right download?
Since it is not the newest version it simply isnt available in the download assistant. And i do not want to download the whole package as i already have all other programs i need.

Where can I find all the updates/patches for Acrobat 8 Pro. I did find up to 8.1.1 and tried to install 8.1.2, but it will not recognize my current version of Acrobat. So I am thinking there must be another update between those two. The check for updates does not work.

Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection installs except for Acrobat X Pro

I was able to install Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection, except for Acrobat X Pro. Its installation fails. I tried rebooting with no change.
