For PDF documents the "archive as" button do not appear but only the "active" button. Please help me?

Hi all,
My "achive as" button do not appear when im trying to save a scanned PDF document but only the "achive" button. Do anyone know why?
I have tried seraching the internet for answer but without any result.
A solution to the prblem is to press doublicate and then "archive" then i get the option to save in a specific loaction (notice that even after doublicating i don't get the option to archvie as). This is a quick fix but would like to know how to fix the problem probably.
Here is some background
-The problem also appears on exsisting pdf document and documents from other users.
- i open it in apple standard preview program
- The problem appaered 6 months ago after and general apple software upgrade.
- I don't have any "download" folder in my finder menu ( I don't know if this is a relevant information but could have somthing to do with the settings i.e. as administor even though it is my own mac).
Please help me before i will go completly CRAZY, it is super frustrating.

Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.

They are updated through the Software Update facility, not the Mac App Store.

My iLife apps are all from retail install disks predating Lion/ML; I am running 10.8.4 and as soon as I choose Software Update from the menu, the app store 'Updates" window opens with "checking for updates". I believe that behavior (SU being directed to MAS) was changed with ML?

Hi there, to authorize a computer, you open up itunes, and at the very very top lefthand corner, there will be a little window. Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! Try the suggestions in article - iPod not recognized in iTunes and Mac desktop. If the suggestions do not work, more than likely you need a new battery. Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

When defining the Outgoing SMTP Server, why does specifying the "default" SMTP server not work, but only the first server specified?

I have several options for SMTP outgoing server. I set one to default and try to send. it fails and uses the first one in the list.
I restart Thunderbird and try to send. It uses the first one in the list.
I eliminate all SMTP servers from the list but the one I want, and it works.
What am I missing, this I have observed this problem on all of my systems for a long time?

what your missing is that account have an SMTP sever associated with them, which if your "in" an account over rides the "default"
Right click an account folder and select settings.
Click on the account name in the settings and on the right is a drop down list and the "default" smtp for that account.

Are you trying to charge it plugged into the wall with its supplied power brick? It's best charged that way.
You can try to swap out the power brick and cable to either rule those out or rule them in as the issue.
You can also try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
