For Retina users, do you use iWork or Mac Office

For those of you who have the Retina Macbook Pro, do you use the newly updated iWork suite, or do you embrace the bluriness and use Mac Office 2011?

I'm using Office2011 and all is okey with that, sometimes 'ive trouble with  saving files, but it works good, BUT the app is just very ugly cause not for Retina screen.

You have to be sure it is not stolen or activation locked

Ask for the IMEI number and see if it locked to its current owner or blacklisted

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

I want to download the new updates I think to the 10.9 but our mac was given to us and when it comes to the last page it asks for the user name and password but this mac was wiped clean. How do I find out this info so I can get iPhoto? To be honest I'm not even sure what type of Mac I have and don't know how to find out what kind it is
I'd also like to make address labels and don't know where to find that either

You would make address lables with the Contacts app.
If you don't have the user name and password used to set up the machine then you need to purchase the apps for yourself.

Considering the app for the iPhone is for iOS, you may have problems using it on the Mac (Mac OS X)
    Two different operating sysems.
From iTunes for the touchpad app:
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.1 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

  • New iMac user, can you use a fan to cool the back?

    Hi everone,
I'm a new iMac user, a new mac user full stop. I recently was given one for college because I'm dyslexic so I recived one to help with college work. I'm a P.C girl mostly so i'm very new to this system, but we do use these at college thou I avoided them like the plauge because I just didn't know how to use them.
ANYWAYS....I noticed that the back get's very hot, my desk is by the window of my room because it gets a little hot in my room at time's and I know my P.C would heat but so the window it was.
i was wondering if used an external fan behind the mac might help with the temp, nothing big just a small fan for the back of the computer like the one's you use in an office but allot smaller? is this a good idea or not?
thank you for takeing the time to read my post, I did read the other about hot mac's but it didn't have the answer I was looking for.
    Cap'Pixie xox

Just be sure it's fixed low enough to be aimed upwards. That way it won't prevent the hot air escaping from the upper exhaust by blowing it back in. It will be blowing dust around too, so keep the area as dust free as possible. Whether I need to run this fan depends on the intenal temps and how hot the back feels. But can aid considerably in cooling. Get iStat Pro.

  • Is there any plan to update the Creative Cloud EULA for single user, multiple computer use?

I have a Mac and a PC at work and 5 machines at home (Macs and PCs) in different rooms. I would like to be able to use the software whenever creativity strikes. Otherwise I am forced to keep using Gimp and other solutions at home.

At the moment if you want to have the Adobe Creative offerings available on 5 different computers then you would want to look at the Creative Cloud for Teams offering.  You can find more details at http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/teams.html.
You may also want to review http://forums.adobe.com/message/4379859#4379859?tstart=0http: which discusses this topic in some detail.

  • Looking for a easy app to use to communicate between office and our shop

iso of an app for use between my office and backroom where parts are ordered. a time clock to click in and out while pulling order would be great.

    Sundarajan,
generally speaking you use Forms Modules to split applications according to their logical role in an application. If for example you have a complex merchendise management application built in Forms and you use the buttons to navigate from the "product logistics" component of your application to the "pricings and advertising" component, then - because these parts are not related in business - splitting this up into modules is a good idea.
If it is a smaller functionality that you gain from the two buttons, then using Windows or Canvases is a good idea to use. You can hide Windows and Canvases allowing you to either use a new "frame" or the same but with different content. So if the navigation you perform belongs to the same logical business process then don't use different modules. Otherwise use diefferent Forms modules.

  • Dynamicaly insert data on documents (iWork or Mac Office)

    Hi!
I am not sure if there is any method that could be possible doint what I am looking for, in windows envoirment development I can have my app to open a word document and inject data on certain fields.
I currently have a Filemaker Pro 12 app that generates documents with data pushed from database, but those document layouts are background PDFs. What I am looking for is that I could call iWork (Page or Numbers) or Mac Office (Word or Excel) and inject data there.
I think the route will be Office, since late iWork Numbers and Pages version its crap because Apple now even cuted the AppleScript options to work with.
Other options are maybe PDFs with fileds but dont know if PDF are "injectable"...
I am looking for a good starting (or best approach) point or quit and let this work at it is.
    thanx

iWork is pre-installed on all Macs and if, by chance, your computer doesn't have it you can download the demo from Apple's web site. The demo is the full version limited only by being usable for 30 days. You can buy a license online and serialize the demo version getting exactly what you'd get if you had the disc.
I work in academia and mostly use iWork. The documents that I pass on to my students and colleagues as well as the documents that I receive from my students and colleagues are almost always perfectly translated from Office by Pages. There have only been a few rare exceptions where a document I've received won't translate well. While I've been testing Pages since it was first released I've also been testing NeoOffice and the documents Pages cannot read NeoOffice has. NeoOffice is a freeware Office clone. In my testing I've also learned what to avoid so that my Pages documents will properly export to Office. Again, NeoOffice has been invaluable. I do have Office on my computer, though if I were required to pay for it I'd not have bothered. NeoOffice is good enough mostly.
So, could you get by with iWork? Yes. Should you? Since you are a student you are eligible for the Student/Home version of Office which runs about $130, not quite twice as much as iWork. If on the whole, your work will be done in Word for academic style papers, I think the answer is yes - just be sure to download either NeoOffice or OpenOffice so you can learn what not to do. If you'll also be doing presentations, you'll find that the compatibility between Keynote and PowerPoint is disappointing. Your Keynote presentations will export and PowerPoint presentations will load into Keynote. The problem is your Keynote presentations will lose something in the translation. If you'll be using Excel – buy Office.

  • Should I use iWork or Microsoft office for school?

I am trying to decide if I want to buy Microsoft office mac or i work for my mac to use for taking notes in school. wondering which is better
    please help

iWork - for yourself with little compatibility with others unless they are all using Mac's. If you have to switch to a Windows machine later, you can be in trouble with these file formats. Payware.
OfficeMac - what the business world uses as standard as most the world uses Windows Office, most shared file format, you will have to learn it eventually. Payware.
LibreOffice - Cross-platform (Linux, OS X and Windows versions) Office like version can read and write to Office formats. Donationware, free to use. Free to include with files for others to use.
If your just in school and  started learning, I would go with LibreOffice first to get you feet wet with those different softwares and how they do things. Since it's free and good enough, even for only at home use.
Also since a lot of schools are hurting for software, the free LibreOffice is great for a multi-use site as it costs nothing.
In high school I would start uisng OfficeMac or a Windows machine and Office to prepare yourself for the job market.
If your rich, never need to work with others on Windows, or a graphic artist that works with others using Mac's, then perhaps iWork.
If your doing a LOT of trading files with Windows users, it's best to use Windows either in Bootcamp or OfficeMac with the Microsoft fonts, because there are problems with formatting when transporting files between platforms.
Of course PDF's are just a image, so they retain the look, but editable files require the fonts to be on the other system too.

  • Configuring Filesystem Free Disks for ASM ? Can you use free space for ASM

Is there a way to dedicate the available disk space for ASM in order to create a database under ASM?
I was hoping that I would not have to reinstall the Linux OS Enterprise 5 (Red Hat). So I de-installed my 2-node RAC environment, installed the ASM required RPMs for Red Hat linux Enterperise 5 and then proceeded to reinstall 11g Clusterware and set "Configure Automatic Storage Management (ASM)".
    Did I miss something? THanks

    Thank you.
I have 3 VM-Oracle guests running Oracle 11g. When I've used NFS as share that worked fine, however I was not using ASM. I know wish to get smart about ASM implementation.
    Server1(rac1) Linux E5 64bit
    Server2(rac2) Linux E5 64bit
    Server3(asm) Linux E5 64bit (I created four partitions
    ./oracleasm createdisk DATDISK /dev/xvda10 OK
    ./oracleasm createdisk VOTDISK /dev/xvda11 OK
    ./oracleasm createdisk OCRDISK /dev/xvda12 OK
    ./oracleasm createdisk OFRDISK /dev/xvda13 OK
    On Node1 and Node 2
    ./oracleasm scandisk
Scanning the system for Oracle ASMLib disks: OK
After this should I or how do you make a partition shared? Could I used NFS? so that I can proceed with the RAC install and then create database .
