For the iPad 2. Why don't they make a recording app just like the iPod or iPhone ?

I have an iPad 2. I want to know why there isn't a recording app that isn't on for factory apps? Can they make an update or something for one?

I'm sure they "can" do it.  It's up to Apple if they "will."

I just bought a new iPad and I want to bring over all my apps from my first iPad but I don't have a computer, do I just set up an icloud account and upload all the things from my first iPad and then connect the new iPad to the icloud using the same account and sync it?

No. You configure your new one to use the same Apple ID. Then re-download from iTunes:

  • Why can I not make any in app purchases?  The two games I have tried are game of war fire age and candy crush.  They both tell me that my device cannot connect to iTunes.  I've tried on my iPhone 5s as well as my iPad mini2.

I've tried restarting both devices, I've reinstalled the apps, I've reset both devices, I've logged out and back in, and I've tried on both wifi and cellular.  Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I have purchased other apps and music on iTunes since the problem started.

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Ahhhh as here comes the iPad.......I have an iMac, a MacBook, and an iPhone

and now I want to get an iPad as soon as they are available.
Does anyone now how I will be able to sync separately with separate items on my iPhone and then separate items on my iPad...
    1. Will I have to have a separate iTunes for one?
    Any ideas? any experts ?
Once I get the iPad I won't have as much on my iPhone I do not believe.

    DennisBoyd68 wrote:
But will iTunes recognize the iPhone and then the iPad as separate devices
    of course.
    that want separate apps, etc.
the iPad will be like a big iPod. it will essentially run the same OS like the iPod Touch/iPhone. basically, the same apps that run on an iPod Touch will run on the iPad.
and will we be able to switch some apps away from the iPhone and over to the iPad....
Otherwise have the 2 separate devices recognized as such.????
not sure i understand but i expect that a) there may be apps that will require the iPad (just like some apps that run exclusively on the iPhone) and b) see above.

  • Now that iPad has multitasking gestures, why don't they just add a gesture for going back and forward in safari?

Now that iPad has multitasking gestures, why don't they just add a gesture for going back and forward in safari? Just like in a mac, with the multitouch gestures. The osx Lion got the launchpad idea from the ios, so why don't the ios gets something from osx?

  • IS IT IMPOSSIBLE? My iTunes library says 4149 songs, my iPhone says 4148 songs, and my iPad says 4147 songs.  Why don't they match?!  How can I fix it???

My iTunes library says 4149 songs, my iPhone says 4148 songs, and my iPad says 4147 songs.  Why don't they match?!  How can I fix it???

Yes. I selected all songs and checked them (in case I missed a few) and synced.  I have also tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it.  I tried selecting all songs and unchecking them, re-syncing my phone (which didn't get rid of the songs on my phone like i thought it would), then selected all songs again, checked them, and resynced again--nothing changed.  I went to the iTunes store and selected "Check for all available downloads" and it gave me the message"All purchases have been downloaded for this account."  I checked for duplicates, deleted a few and resynced.  This reduced the number of songs, but it still doesn't match what the iTunes library says...I don't know what to try next...

  • My UI preferences are set to identical settings in Illustrator and InDesign, why don't they look the same?

My UI preferences are set to identical settings in Illustrator and InDesign ("scale to lower supported scale factor") and AI looks perfect, ID is too big. Why don't they look the same if the settings are the same? Driving me CRAZY. I have my windows scaling factor at 124% and it needs to stay enlarged, otherwise nothing else on my system will be readable. The inconsistency of the workspaces is so annoying.

    Hello billwoodard11,
Thanks for the question. If your computer is not compatible with HD 1080p content, you should receive a prompt stating so - but should still be able to download the content for use on other devices. For more information, check out this resource:
Purchasing and viewing HD videos in iTunes - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201850
How to purchase, download, or view HD 1080p content
iTunes 10.6 by default is set to purchase, download, and playback HD content in 720p. You must change your local preference setting if you prefer to download, purchase, and playback HD content in 1080p. Depending on your computer's hardware configurations, you may be unable to purchase, rent, or playback content in 1080p. iTunes may display the following dialog:
    On Mac or PC
Download the latest version of iTunes. You can download iTunes for free.
From the iTunes menu, choose iTunes > Preferences > Store (for PC, choose Edit > Preferences > Store).
Next to "When downloading High Definition videos, prefer:" set your preference to 1080p1.
Click OK. Now, when you purchase or download HD content, your computer will always download in 1080p, when available.
Depending on your computer's hardware limitations, you may be unable to purchase, rent, or view HD content from the iTunes Store. If you are trying to view HD video on an external display, the display must have a digital connection (DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI) and support HDCP.

  • How do I sync my iPad with my iTunes without it trying to put my iPod apps on the iPad?  I don't want to make separate accounts because then the apps that I want on both would have to be paid for twice.

No, they won't. Just create a second profile in iTunes for the iPad. You can then select only what you want synced to it completely separate from your iPod.

For one thing, true call blocking (ie. where the call NEVER actually connects through to your number) can only be done by the service provider at their switches.
The best a device can do is allow the call to connect, and then use the caller ID information to compare that to a list of allowed and a list of disallowed caller IDs.  That is a feature known as blacklisting, but it is not the same as actually blocking a call completely.
So as suggested, contact your carrier and ask what they can do for you.

  • Why don't they put how much usage each update will take.  I am on broadband and not sure if I have enough GBs left to do an update.

I have broadband and it just cost me $75 OVER my monthly bill to download Yosemite and the update for iphotos.  NOW, I have notice that it needs two more updates.  Why don't they tell us how much data will be used with an update so we can plan when and which updates to do now, and some later?  The old system they had, they did tell and I was able to ration out which ones to update over the months.

It all depends on how much you'll use the iPhone for internet access. Personally, I use it frequently (work email, browsing with Safari, the Amazon.com app, etc.,) and I use 200-300 MB per month. My wife does not use her iPhone for much outside of email, weather, etc., occasional Internet browsing, and she uses 40-50 MB per month. So, you should be fine with 150 MB.
    Hope that helps...

  • Hi, I'm a bit low on memory and I can't update the iOS. I need to move some photos off the iPad but I don't want to transfer them to a pc, I'd prefer to transfer them to iCloud and leave them there.  Is that possible?

Yes, you could, because in this case you would have something like a backup in the cloud. BTW, personally I also like Flickr. Flickr offers you 1 TB (1000 GB) of free storage and automatic upload for photos since iOS 7 (it is a very attractive offer, at least for me)

  • When I have opened newstand it will not close like other apps. I have to shutdown the iPad completely why

When I have opened newstand it will not close like other apps. I have to shutdown the iPad completely why?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Why don't installed SSIS Add-ins appear in either the Toolbox or SSIS Toolbox?

    Greetings!
Why don't installed SSIS Add-ins appear in either the Toolbox or SSIS Toolbox? I have restarted Visual Studio and (heard this might work) restarted the SSIS service, but I still never see any installed add-in.
    Thank you.
    ---------------- GeorgeS, aka "SQLPadawan"

    Hi George,
What’s the version of your SQL Server? If the SQL Server Integration Services version is 2012, we should use SSDT which can be installed from Shared Features or SQL Server Data Tools – Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012 which should be installed
separately or installed within Professional, Ultimate, or Premium Edition of Visual Studio 2012.
If the SQL Server Integration Services version is 2014(except Microsoft SQL Server 2014 CTP2), we can only use this tool Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013.
The difference between SSDT for Visual Studio versions as below:
SSDT-BI for Visual Studio 2013 (SSDT-BI for SQL Server 2014) will support various SQL Server versions as follows:
SSAS projects can target SQL Server 2014 or lower
SSRS projects can target SQL Server 2014 or lower
SSIS projects can target only SQL Server 2014
SSDT-BI for Visual Studio 2012 and SQL Server Data Tools - Visual Studio 2010 support versions of SQL Server as follows:
SSAS project can target SQL 2012 or lower
SSRS project can target SQL 2012 or lower
SSIS project can target only SQL 2012
So please open the right SQL Server Data Tools, then based on the SQL Server version to refresh the component. For more details, please see blog post by Vaibhav.
