Reader XI in up to date Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Auto and manual update returns: Error 1648-No valid sequence for the set of patches
Try to uninstall returns: Error 1648-No valid sequence for the set of patches
Uninstalled using cleaner tool, reinstalled Reader XI, same update and uninstall error.
Ran Microsoft Fix-it uninstall tool. It claimed to have found and fixed corrupt registry entries.
Tried to install Reader XI...again, Installer said application already installed.
Removed reader with cleaner tool again.
    Installed Reader XI
    Update and Uninstall errors persist.
    Reader works fine.
    Suggestions?

Reader tried to update this morning, error 1648....again.
In case it can help troubleshooting here is the log file generated from the last failed Adobe Reader auto update.

    Please can you help me.

The following article while old fixed the issue for me. Registry editing is required so please backup your registry before making any changes.

A reboot was required before reinstall of Reader succeeded.

  • No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches

I get the following error message when installing Acrobat 8.0 Standard:
"Windows Installer" No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches."
The CD installed with no problems on another PC. Both PC are running XP Pro SP2. The virus scanner was disabled before installation. I also had uninstalled a older version of Acrobat and Reader before installation. Even attempted to install by launching the setup.exe file.
    Thanks.
    George

This appears to be caused when nls codepages are missing from Windows..
I use nLite to clear items out of my installations, and because these entries are missing, it fails to install. Apparently Microsoft Office has the same issue..
I don't have a solution yet, but I am searching. This should help Adobe answer the question, though..

  • SMTP host for the e-mails in Oracle Application Server 10g

    Hi,
I would like to ask in which file from the Oracle Application Server 10g is the configuration for SMTP Host for the e-mails.
    Thank you,
    Mihaela

    Hi Ibrahim,
You can do an easier installation by only using base release of 10.1.2.0.2. What I stated would be good practice:
    By * DB 10.2.0.3 ---- > u mean (Database Version) => Yes, use Database version 10.2.0.3
By * Identity Management 10.1.4.0.1 (OID/SSO) -----> u mean (Application Server infrastructure) => Yes, use Identity Management 10.1.4.0.1 instead of the infrastructure on Application Server 10.1.2.0.2
By * Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 -----> u mean (Middle Tire Forms&Report Services) => Yes, use Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 as middle-tier. When installed, upgrade it to 10.1.2.2 (with the latest patchset)
By * Patch Application Server DB client to 10.1.0.5 ----> u mean what? => Before you upgrade AS to 10.1.2.2 it's mandatory to upgrade the Database client software in the Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 home to 10.1.0.5. Default is 10.1.4. You'll see database client version by for instance starting SQL*Plus.
For your Developer (Forms) upgrade: Forms 4.0/4.5 - 6i -> 10g. See: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/upgrade/index.html. If you have tons of Forms, then I recommend using a tool like the great PITTS.CON (http://www.pitss.com/en/pcon/index.htm).
    Regards,
    Martin

  • Locale values for the arabic db in oracle 10g

Please suggest me the locale values for the Oracle 10g client/server that can store arabic data.
Please also suggest me the best value for the "Database character set".
Note: Both my client and server will be installed on the Arabic version of Windows XP.

    Possible character sets for Arabic are AL16UTF16, AL32UTF8, AR8ISO8859P6, AR8MSWIN1256, UTF8
I suggest to use AL32UTF8 as database character set.
so NLS_LANG at client side would be e.g. ARABIC_QATAR.AL32UTF8 ({NLS_LANGUAGE}_{NLS_TERRITORY}.{CHARACTERSET})
Check [Locale Data|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14225/applocaledata.htm] for other possible supported languages, territories, character sets. (you can even see recommended character sets in this page)

  • Know an extension that searches for the file "last modified" date?

I am working on a site with 80,000 pages and need to find an
extension that will search all files within the site and populate
the date each file was last modified. Know of an extension that
will assist in this situation? Any ideas will help, thanks in
    advance!

Ahh, so now your requirements are changing. You do not want a
    simple
text file output after all, but instead a sortable list. So
    perhaps
output as a csv that could be sorted within a spreadsheet.
    Altho 80000
    rows?
It is a bit hard to believe that an organization with an
    80000 page
website does not have inhouse gurus who could do this in a
    heart beat.

  • Need a fix for the 'folder last opened date'

I have been using Hazel [from www.noodlesoft.com] to set the colours of recently opened or modified files to make them easier to spot.
Within Hazel, I have set rules to monitor files contained in a named folder (and sub-folders contained therein) so I can visually spot what I have recently been working on. The rules achieve this by setting the label colours of:
    • files worked on in the last 2 days to 'Green'
    • unless already set to 'Green', files worked on in the last 7 days to 'Blue'
    • unless already set to 'Green' or 'Blue', files worked on in the last 14 days to 'Purple'
    • remove label colours for all files labelled 'Purple', 'Green' or 'Blue' that were last worked on over 14 days ago
Hazels works very well and achieves the effect I am after for files contained in that folder and its sub-folders. No problems there.
The problem I have is in defining a similar scheme of rules to apply to FOLDERS using a rule in Hazel to set the colour of a folder (or sub-folder) by reference to the date on which a folder was last opened.
For some reason, Finder does NOT update the last opened date for a folder. In fact, I have discovered (by painstakingly getting information a folder at a time) that a number of folders have date anomalies like the example below:
    Date created: 4 Sep 2006
Modified date: today [which is correct as I deleted a file from in this folder]
Date opened: 31 Oct 2006 [which ignores that fact I had to open the folder today to delete the file...]
Any ideas on what could be going wrong here? Or more to the point, how I can fix this? I have run Disk Utility and using Onyx, ensured all three maintenance scripts have been run.
    Any thoughts?

I am going to have to abandon Firefox and go back to IE. The fact that there has been no response is extremely disheartening. I am quite sure there is some malware involved and don't want to risk ID theft. This kind of problem should be the #1 concern for a browser company. I have regrets because I like Firefox otherwise and think it superior to the other browsers on the market including IE. C'est la vie.
