For those of us that already verified the 8.0.1 release this morning...

Does anyone know if we have to restore 8.0 so when the new release comes out we will be able to update? my current firmware is the 8.0.1 released this morning before Apple pulled it down. Wondering if the new update will still be named 8.0.1 or have they made a statement that it will be 8.0.2? I'm trying to avoid doing another restore since I've restored 3 times already the past 5 days.

Basically all the issues that existed with 8.0 are still present with 8.0.1 so not sure restoring is going to do a whole lot of good. Since I already have 8.0.1 if the new update comes out with the same name when I go into update I'm going to get a message that my firmware is up to date and then I won't really have the latest release since it won't download what it thinks already exists. I don't mind leaving the 8.0.1 on here since either version is useless. What I find strange is Apple has 8.0 available in iTunes so we can downgrade back to 8.0. If they can do this, why not offer us 7.1.2 until all bugs are worked out? Hopefully they'll name it 8.0.2. If not, I guess I'll have to restore anyway.

64 Bit Flash would be nice for those of Us that prefer to use a 64 bit Browser

I am writting this to ask Why there is not been a release of a 64 bit version of flash for those of us that prefer to use the 64 bit browsers. I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and like using the 64 bit browsers as they run a lot smoother on my system. I am very disappointed that I am unable to get a flash player is 64 bit compatable. I know I am but one person, but I hope that others that also prefer to use the 64bit browsers would also post here voicing their desire to se a 64 bit version of Flash released

Sol 1. Please try sign out from Creative cloud Desktop App and quit it.
1. Launch Creative Cloud application manager.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Preferences.
3. In the Preferences menu, under General, click the Account tab.
4. Click Sign Out from Creative Cloud.
Then re-sign in and launch Photoshop CC 2014 and check.
Sol 2. Check your Hosts file.
Windows
1. Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
2. Locate Hosts file and move it to Desktop
3. Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
6. Save and close the file and move it back to Etc folder.
Mac OS
1. Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
2. In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
3. Type /etc.
4. Select the hosts file and move it on Desktop open it.
5. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.

Then try launching Photoshop CC 2014 or Illustrator CC 2014
If prompt for License this software, please click on it and sign in with the Adobe ID and Password which you have used to purchase the subscription and check if you can activate and use the products.

for those of you that know me, i figured i'd drop a note here to say today's my last day at oracle. those of you that do know me probably also know that i'm very grateful to you guys what you've done. for what we've done. back in the day when this project marvel stuff (oracle platform stuff, for you really old skoolers) was new, it took a certain amount of faith to jump on board. we did. we jumped on board believing it'd work, and then we proved it. we've shown the world that this Application Express stuff not only works, but it works well. thanks guys, it's your continuing activity here on this forum and in the global community that have shown so many people how good web app development can be. please know i appreciate that from the bottom of my heart. also, now that i'm leaving the mothership, i'd like to say that the apex team is just incredible. you couldn't hope to work with a cooler or more dynamic group of people. i think you guys get a sense of that when you use the product and interact w/them on this forum, but i just wanted to confirm that now that i'm heading into the afterlife.

I don't know Raj in person, but I read some of his articles on OTN, some of his threads on this forum, and some very kind words, written by Tom Kyte. So, I believe the Apex guys when they are saying he'll be missed.
Usually, when senior staff jumps ship, it's a good reason to start worry. In this case, it seems like Scott Spendolini is building a mini empire around Apex. As I consider these guys to be smart and skillful, their willingness to leave good and secure positions at Oracle, in favor of some new adventure, can only mean one thing they all believe in the good and bright future of Apex, and its ability to provide for them. It seems like a good sign for people like me user who devote a great deal of time learning how to make the best out of this tool.
I wish Raj all the best, and encourage all the others keep on the good work.

And to make matters worse, I tried renaming them as pdf files thinking that might do the trick.

oh boy ! I'd ask you if you knew what kind of files they were or where they came from, but I don't think you could help me a bunch. Try going to the Utilities folder and running Disk Utilities. If you want to empty the Trash and it won't empty, go to the finder and choose "secure Empty trash". Worse case scenario-you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard, but I don't know what else to suggest. If you have a DVD of Snow Leopard, boot up from that, and reinstall the OS. This will not touch the stuff you have on your Hard Drive, then you can update from 10.6 to 10.6.8, otherwise Onyx? Maybe those files are part of the OS which needs them to keep running. if you hold down the Shift key on reboot, you can reboot in Safe mode and maybe you can take the files out of the trash that way

Deploying the FEP client (SCCM 2012 R2) on computers that already have the FEP client from a previouse failed site installation

I am in the process of rebuilding our SCCM 2012 R2 site server (single site). The FEP client from the previous sccm 2012 r2 deployment was successfully installed on all of our endpoints and communicating with no issue with the site server. Since losing that
server we are in the process of deploying a one. My question is, when I configure FEP and the site server attemtps to deploy the FEP client will the current one be reinstalled even though its same version? Or will SCCM just recognize there is already
a compatible client installed. I asked a similar question about the SCCM client in another post which was very helpful.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

No, the Endpoint Protection client is still a separate client. By, enabling the client settings the ConfigMgr client will make sure that the Endpoint Protection client is installed and makes sure it will be 'managed'. After re-installing the ConfigMgr
client, the ConfigMgr client will see that Endpoint Protection is already installed and the new ConfigMgr client will start 'managing' the Endpoint Protection client.

Yes you need to buy them again. Apps written for one device will not run on the other.

These are a couple different issues
The purchase issue means they came from a different Apple ID
      You will need that Apple ID and password for those purchases
The iCloud account can be an Find My iPhone issue.
       That could be the same Apple ID as the purchased or yet another one.
              Once again you will need that Apple ID and password.

You need to have a different Apple ID for each of the other devices.

Because line-in has been removed.
It does allow for an Apple headset with mic., but I don't know if it would work with third-party ones.
You'll need to use a Griffin iMic or similar to use line-in via a USB port.
The same goes for the 15" retina, the newest MBA and the new iMac (whenever it finally arrives).
