For videora

Is it true to use SP/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps

I would advise to use MPEG-4/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps. I was unaware that an SP profile exists (none on my copy).
Just make sure you steer clear of anything H.264 for the moment, and you should be fine.

    okay here it is.
1.go to google, search for videora, find the videora converter (thats free) DOWNLOAD IT
    2. start up the videora converter and click transcode new video, find the video in your files from ares/limewire or whereever and click it.
    3. see the thing beside it that says "New transcoding", once you've clicked a file from #2 press START (do not fiddle with the settings they make it so that your ipod reads the information)
    4. it will take minutes to hours depending on how big the file is.
    5. once it is CONVERTED (be patient) : go to itunes click file at the top -> go to add file to library .
    6. okay your file is in a folder that looks something like this: C:\Program Files\VideoraiPodConverter\Videos . therefore you need to find wherever you uploaded your program (videora) and find the file
labelled "videoraipodconverter" (unless you changed it)
    7. once you find this file (in program files most likely) click on "videos" and your video should be there, uploaded and converted
    8. there, you're done and it should play both sound and video on your ipod
okay, so enough topic dicussions about this.
please leave comments where i am too vague or it doesn't work and happy holidays
PS: if you're downloading from a CD or DVD you have to save it in a file before you can convert it. Try saving it in "my music"
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR windows XP not MAC
    thanks,
    KM

okay you have to find where it exports your files
    go to the converter...
    and click "setup"
and check where it says "export videos to" like on mine it says C:\Program Files\VideoraiPodConverter\Videos
but your computer could have it somewhere else
so whereever it says it exports it to is where you can find it
and about the uploading in 2 seconds, thats weird is the "quality profile" under "new transcoding" :
    MPEG-4/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps
if not select that from the drop down list
and how long is your file/how big?

  • How do I get updates for videora converter?

I installed videora converter for the Ipod but I dont know how to update the software if there is an update.

You need to connect to iTunes using the supplied dock connector to usb cable. You will see the iPad appear under devices on the right hand side. Select it and you can click on update.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
If you have never connected or done a sync before you will need to transfer content to your computer first. If you attempt a sync for the first time the iPad will be erased. See below before you update in this case.
For iTunes content - transfer purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If you have content not bought from iTunes you will need to search for a 3rd party program to transfer them.
To backup your iPad's data, right click on the iPad (under devices) and select backup

iTunes 6.0.2 can do it for you if the video is already playable in iTunes. If not, search Google for Videora iPod Converter.

  • Using Videora Help

Hi. I have a bunch of Mpeg-2 and AVI files on my computer. I used videora to convert them to what i thought was Mpeg-4. I said it was on the file, and it played fine in quicktime/itunes. But wheni went to put it on the ipod the screen just went black, and than went back to the main menu. Is this becasue of videora? Could someone please help? Does anybody know what the videora settings should be? Any help would be appreciated.

Try this post, which was submitted yesterday. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=247137&tstart=100
If it does not work, search for "Videora Helped me Big Time 2 add my own videos " by 'Denying Destiny'

  • Here's a way to quickly compute - max h264 video resolution for iPod

Here's a VB Script I wrote to quickly compute the maximum dimensions you can encode an h264 video in for playback on your iPod video. It works on the principal that iPods can handle a maximum of 230400 pixels, and also accounts for Videora's stipulation that width/height must be in multiples of 16. Very easy to use, you simply supply the original width and height of your source video, and it tells you what dimensions you should encode to in order to maximize resolution. This is mainly of use for those who wish to playback videos on a TV, as anything above 320x240 won't look any better on the iPod itself. Copy and past this into a text file with the extension ".vbs" and then double click it. Windows only, sorry Mac people.
origx = InputBox("Original Width", "Original Width")
origy = InputBox("Original Height", "Original Height")
    xequals = origx / origy
    newy = sqr((230000)/xequals)
    newx = newy * xequals
    newy = 16 * (round((newy/16), 0))
    newx = 16 * (round((newx/16), 0))
    msgbox ("Make your video: " & newx & " x " & newy & vbcrlf & vbcrlf & "Total pixels: " & (newy*newx))

To do the same thing on a Mac, open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript folder and paste in the following:
display dialog "What is the original width?" buttons {"Cancel", "Enter"} default button "Enter" default answer ""
set origx to text returned of the result as number
display dialog "What is the original height?" buttons {"Cancel", "Enter"} default button "Enter" default answer ""
set origy to text returned of the result as number
set xequals to origx / origy
    set newy to (230000 / xequals) ^ 0.5
set newx to newy * xequals
    set newy to 16 * (round (newy / 16))
    set newx to 16 * (round (newx / 16))
    display dialog ("Make your video: " & newx & " x " & newy & return & return & "Total pixels: " & (newy * newx))
Press the Run button and enter the original size when prompted.

  • New User Guide (common questions)

    Common Ipod Info
For those who just go an ipod here is some basic info on the ipod and how to do a few things.
    Basic Info
    Disconnecting/Connecting
Just plug in via USB and wait (can take a few minutes). Ipod will load up and the screen will show DO NOT DISCONNECT go to itunes and update it or add file do whatever to it.
TO DISCCONECT do not unplug if the screen says do not disconnect. Instead you have two options.
1.) In itunes right next to where it says NAME’s IPOD (in the source window) there is a small eject button. Or you can highlight you ipod and in the bottom right there is a bigger eject ipod button.
2.) Open my computer and you should see your ipod as a removable drive. Right click it and click eject.
Ipod’s do not actually hold 30gigs or 60gigs. In stead the 30gig holds ~28gigs. This is the same as hard drives something about 1024 bytes. Look it up via google if you really care. This is normal.
    Multiple IPod
If you are sharing one computer with 2 or more iPod but do not want all the music and want only yours here is what you should do.
    1.) Open I tunes
2.) Create a new play list (file->new play list) and name it something like Moo’s play list (so you know it is yours)
3.) Add the music you want to it (go to library and drag it to you play list.)
4.) Now plug in the ipod and go to edit>preferences>ipod
5.) Select update only selected play lists and check your play list.
6.) Wait for it to update and unplug and redo with second ipod
    Getting Video’s to Ipod
    WINDOWS ONLY
Two options that I use. For both the first step if getting form DVD is to save the DVD to your computer (caution DVD’s are huge! Have 10gigs for one movie to be safe.) You must have a DVD drive to do DVD’s. CD-ROMs will not work. If you don’t have a DVD drive you can get one for like 20 bucks.
First off the Videora method. Read this guide.
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html
macleankara’s guide (a little bit more info and pretty simple too) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=282835&tstart=15
Second is the Nero Recode method and you should read this guide
    http://arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/ipod-video.ars/5
I prefer Nero why because I paid for it and it’s a bonus feature I’m using by golly!
It won’t show up on my ipod! (Music and video)
Make sure it is in the correct format.
Video’s h.264 and mpeg-4 at 320x240 Also make sure the bit rate is at the appropriate level (another reason for videora its simple and auto in right bit rate) Make sure the screen is set to 320x240 or it wont play. Mpeg-4 can show up to 480x480 but the ipod’s screen is maxed at 320x240 so it will be shrunk down with black border on all sides.
Music just makes them into mp3’s
As for the battery read this from apple
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61434
hope this helps some people. and hopefully will reduce redundant questions

I don't know what you mean by "appendages".
You can create a contact which phone number will contain a pause, then continues other numbers, and then wait for a click from you, and then continue again.

  • How to get dvd movies onto ipod with windows

Okay, I have finally figured out how to get movies from DVD to ipod for windows users, and it's free, with no watermarks. It involves a 2-program process. First go and download Videora Ipod Converter at http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Then download DVDFab Decrypter at http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
Now after you have installed these onto your computer:
    1. Insert the DVD into your disc drive.
    2. Open DVDFab and open the DVD folder, video_ts or whatever it happens to be
    3. Select your target destination for the files to be saved
    4. Click start to begin copying the DVD.
    5. Once everything is done being saved open videora ipod converter
    6. Go to setup and select the one click profile which size of video you would like and the output of the files
    7. Go to convert and select new transcode video, find your video file and select open
    8. Wait for the file to be completed transcoding
    9. Open itunes and select file, add file to library, find the file(s) and select okay
    10. Most of you should know what to do form here

For anyone who wants to get up and running, these are the settings I use for Videora.
After days of experimenting, I settled on the settings below which seem to give a good balance between filesize and quality. There will be a bit of blockiness in the dark shadows but if it's too much, just increase the 'bitrate'. Experiment with a short video, but make sure the video you experiment with is very high quality or you won't know what is or isn't down to your settings.
Again, don't use h264. Only Quicktime Pro has h264 nailed. You may be able to get some things to work in h264 but more likely, you'll be watching a movie and it will suddenly stop, or your iPod's hard disk will start munching away to a black screen. mpeg-4 works fine in Videora, always. No problems.
    Video
    Mode: MPEG-4 > CBR
    Resolution: 320 x 240
Passes: One (two makes almost no difference except doubling the time)
    Bitrate: 384kbps
    Framerate: Input
    Audio
    Bitrate: 96kbps
    Channels: Stereo
    Sample Rate: Input
    Volume: 100%

  • Help with simple things

    Hello,
At the apple store, everytime I was typing something on their phones, the phone would give me some word completion choices based on the letters I had enter. My 3g iphone however doesn't do that. Why is that? No matter how long of a word, I have to type the entire thing.
Also, what exactly does the auto brightness do? So far having it on, doesn't change the brightness of the screen whatsoever.
Lastly, is there some sort of mpg or avi player out there or in the works. Even if that means freeing it I'm down.
    Thanks a bunch.
Note: +Apple bots, dont delete this one like the other 3 please. I'm trying my hardest to like your phone despite its many short comings.+

This is a feature built into the iPhones that can't be turned off. Keep trying it out, I'm sure you'll see it.
The Auto brightness comes into play depending on the light around you. for instance during the day the screen is brighter. At night the screen is dimmerr to make it easier to see. Easiest way to notice the differences is to cover the light sensors on the iPhone and you'll see it adjust itself.
The iPhone has its on built in media player, if you do a google search for Videora, you can obtain it for free and convert ANY video format to one that will play on the iPhone. You then need only to sync you videos with your iPhone, much the same way as music.

  • Ripping DVD's - How long should it take?

How long should it take to rip a whole DVD? PQDVD seems the easiest, but it rips at 1x speed (or close to it). Are there programs out there that do it faster? Are there programs that are cheaper? $35 is a lot of money.

I use DVD Decryptor (free) to rip the VCD files from the DVD.
I then use Videora for iPod to encode them to MP4.
Time for DVD Decrypt is about 15 minutes for a 2 hour movie.
Time for Videora is about an hour and a half for a 2 hour movie (give or take a half hour).
DVD Decryptor needs to be set to Not split the files based on size, and there is another tab that asks if you want to split the VCD files at all. Both set to none, find in the options screen.
    Good luck!

  • Recorded TV - from Windows Media Center to iTunes

Is it possible to import recorded TV from Win Media Center to iTunes?

Sure, if you convert it to a iTunes compatible MP4 file. There are lots of Third Party iPod Video converters. Do a search for Videora, it's free and easy to convert from DVR-MS to MP4
