For which display size is Labview 2012 optimized?

Hi,
I have a lap top with a high resolution (1920x1080). After I installed Labview2012, on some of the dialog boxes, ex. Tools->Options (see attached image) not all text is shown completely.
Also, when I opened VI designed for a lower resolution display I get overlapping on labels and controls.
Can anyone tell me if this is due only to the display resolution or also the Labview? And to what display size is Labview2012 optimized?
Regards

It looks to me like you've set windows fonts to Large, casuing labels to increase in size.
From LV 8(?) to 2009 (or is it a windows thing?) the standard font increased from 14 to 15 causing some mess in block diagrams.

  • My next iMac-- which graphics card; which display size?

    Hi all,
I'd like some advice in choosing my next iMac, specifically regarding the graphics card and the display size.
    Graphics Card:
I'm not a gamer nor am I doing any 3D animation. Is there any other reason to upgrade the graphics card? I DO want the best possible video playback (QT movies), but I don't know if the graphics card has any bearing on video playback quality.
    Display size:
Aside from the obvious differences in resolution, do any of the three displays sizes (17,20,24) have any history of being better or more reliable?
Thanks in advance for any tips

Your needs will better dictate which model is best.
Video playback of QuickTine movies will not be affected by upgrading to the 24" with the nVidia chip.
No 3D gaming or animation means no need for a higher end graphics card. In my case, the x1600 ATi in the original Core Duo 20" is more than sufficient for everything I've thrown at it so far including full resolution "Call of Duty".
For your use, you may not need the extra VRAM but I personally would bump it up to 256MB though. Adding an external monitor will split the total VRAM between the two monitors and with Apple continually moving a lot of Mac OS X's graphical features to the GPU, the extra memory may be a blessing.
    Display Size:
I believe that reliability between the three models is pretty much the same.
The advantage to the 24" is, of course, the extra screen real estate and resolution. However The price difference between the 20" and 24" could allow you to go with the 20" model and add an external LCD for a dual screen setup (if space permits).
Weigh your needs - now and the immediate future - and then look at both models in person if possible.

    Hi, Guys,
Just upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 and started to do the UI customization.
I noticed it seems that we can move around those fields on the forms, but we can not resize them. Is that correct?
If we can, please advise how to. How about UDFs?

  • Swap 15 for 17" display

I just bought an iMac G4 flat panel display for a backup machine. I'm just curious for now - can the 15" monitor be swapped for a 17"? Anyone done this? Know How? Advice?
    TiPB G4-400 & PowerMac G4/400 (Sawtooth)   Mac OS X (10.3.2)

Although the iMac G4s share some parts the strength of the neck and weight of the base vary for the display size. My experience of pulling apart these machines would lead me to counsel against any such plans unless you treat the machine as disposable. Far better to buy a 17" version - the logic board specs will almost certainly be higher too.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode.
    * You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
    * To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
    * Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

  • Windows 8.1 forgets dpi / display size settings for one monitor on almost every reboot

    I use TV 32" with 1920x1080 and cintiq 13" with 1920x1080
when I boot my PC the resolution is fine but DPI is wrong.
In smaller monitor It's look like DPI is higher than the bigger one.
I already set dpi to be the same (smallest 100%) but it's not work until I do something to change display setting.
It's really annoy me. This problem is not happen when I use windows 8
Only solution I found is turn off
    "Turn on fast start-up".
When I do that It's boot like what I want. every monitor is the same DPI.
But it'll make my boot time longer.
It should be just start up windows and use the same dpi from the start.
So I think this problem is a bug in windows 8.1
    Best regards

    Thank you for reply.
I've already used the latest graphic card driver. But It's won't help this issue.
In registry editor. I check those variables then value of them is already set like that blog suggest.
So , it look like when windows start-up(with fast start-up) It use something like
suggest value for different monitor size instead of what I set in control panel. But when I turn off fast start-up windows use my setting value.
And I think there are a lot of people who got the same problem as me.
    Here is an example.

  • PIC16F877A+UART for Display of Measurements LABVIEW

I need to send four measurement parameters to the PC for display and storage purposes. The software for this aim is LABVIEW. I am new to PIC and Interfacing, but by putting so much effort and asking questions from experts, i could have accomplished the acquisition of all the data till today.
I could also transmit a character "HELLO" through RS232 with my UART to USB converter and the result in hyperterminal was observed as well.
I am quite happy that i could have reached up to this stage. but on the other hand, unfortunately my knowledge is absolutely poor about LABVIEW.
I have heard that if i have control over the format of the data from PIC to LABVIEW, it is not that difficult.
Please find the attached pictures of the design for better understanding.
    Questions:
1- can you please explain what is exactly meant by format of data?(I also don't know the format of data i sent through USB)
2- After specifiying the format, what would be the next stage?
3- If it is possible, please provide me with some sample codes for Hi-tech C, and LABVIEW as well.

Which version of sql server 2012 or 2014 is best for sharepoint 2013.. Any excellent comparision available please let me know..i mean enterprise version BI version or standard version.. i just need a detailed comparison if available please thank you

As of right this very second, SQL Server 2014 is not supported. SharePoint 2013 supports:
    One of the following:
The 64-bit edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
The 64-bit edition of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Hardware and software requirements for SharePoint 2013
Edit: I may be mistaken. It looks like the April 2014 CU adds support for SQL Server 2014. If this is the case generally going with the latest SQL Edition provides you with the latest SQL functionality. I'm not aware of any SharePoint features that would
make use of functionality that is new to SQL Server 2014 but this could change with a future service pack.

  • Looking for Fm which display Blocked status

    Hi ,
I was looking for a function module which displays the  blocked status in GTS system, i know one '/SAPSLL/CD_STATUS_GET' which exist ECC system, but i am looking for which is in GTS system.
Could you plz help me out with this issue.

    Hi Ashok
To answer your question some more context would be useful.  What inputs do you have to identify the document?  The reference document -OR- GTS customs document?  There are lots of standard function modules available such as /SAPSLL/CUHDSTA_DB_SGL_READ which provides the customs document header statuses for SPL, License and Embargo checks from the document header status table directly.  The inputs for this would be the GUID from table CUHD.
The function module used when ECC calls GTS using /SAPSLL/CD_STATUS_GET is /SAPSLL/API_6800_STATUS_GET, this is another possibility.
    Hope that helps.

  • LabVIEW 2012 LLB for VBAI 2011

    Hi
I'm trying to build some labview vi's in LabVIEW 2012, to be compatible with Vision Builder AI 2011. I want to include some shared variables. I have the library file containing a string shared variable and a labview VI with just a string control into the shared variable. This is to read text from the vision build inspection. Both the library and the vi is saved under version 2010 but when I try to make a LLB file, the versions change to 2012 again. Do you have any inpute into why this could be?
    Cheers.

You need to use the LV project to create a source distribution that includes all the dependencies (including vi.lib). Then close out LV 2012 to make sure you don't accidentally get any cross linking. Open the main VI of your built LLB with LV 2012 and then go to File>>Save for Previous. If there are any licensed VIs from vi.lib included, those may not save for previous, but I think this is what you should try to do.
I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but if you want to use shared variables, VBAI (2010 or later) can update a shared variable with it's results (or read the variable if you want to pass data to VBAI), and then any version of LV can read/write that shared variable because shared variables are not LV version specific so you don't have to have the same version of LV to read/write shared variables. If this is all you want to do, you could just keep your LV code in LV 2012 and read/write the variable that is used by VBAI 2011. You can also use the VBAI API to control the inspection from any version of LV 2010 or higher regardless of the version of VBAI. You can see an example here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI XXXX\API Examples\LabVIEW Examples
Let us know if this still does not address your question and provide more details if this doesn't help.

  • OpenG Toolkit for LabVIEW 2012?

I'm trying to install OpenG Tooklit using VI Package Manager. The LabVIEW 2012 is registered in VIPM and VIPM successfully connects to LabVIEW. But when I'm trying to install the package, VIPM says that "This package is not compatible with your operating system or any LabVIEW version installed on your computer".
The package is displayed in LabVIEW tool network VIPM window where I get from the LabVIEW's welcome screen. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Any idea?

I do not know if VIPM can install packages without Admin rights.  It places files in the Program Files folder and this may not be allowed if you aren't an administrator.
This is not a VIPM or JKI forum.  You are welcome to ask questions regarding VIPM here but you may get more support over at the VIPM Forum.

  • Which colour space for different displays

    Hi Everyone,
This might be a long winded question so please bear with me.
I have a pc with a wide gammut monitor which displays 94% adobe rgb and 100% srgb.
I have just purchased a surface pro 3 which I've just calibrated and it displays 74% adobe rgb and 98% srgb.
I want to use the same lightroom catalogue for both, likewise with photoshop.
I also will be uploading to flickr, Facebook and behance, and also printing.
My question is, what should I do in terms of setting the colour space?
    Thanks
    Stuart

OK, then you should be all set and ready to go. Just work in Adobe RGB throughout.
And yes, for web you need to convert to sRGB. But again, you must use a web browser with full color management, or it will not display correctly on a wide gamut display. I just have to stress this, because few browsers get it right. On Mac Safari is good, but on Windows the only option is Firefox. Other browsers may display correctly if the image has an embedded profile, but lots of sites strip the profile, and in that case it will not be color managed by the browser and appear oversaturated.
Firefox can be configured to assign sRGB to any untagged material, allowing the color management chain to operate so that it appears correctly on wide gamut displays. It is the only browser that can be configured this way, which is an absolute requirement.
Internet Explorer gets nothing right and is completely useless with wide gamut. Just ignore it.

  • Installing NI-USRP for LabVIEW 2012

It's been a few months since LabVIEW 2012 was released. Is there a supported way to install NI-USRP support for LabVIEW 2012 or does a new installer of NI-USRP need to be released? As of right now, NI-USRP 1.1 is available and installs support up to LabVIEW 2011 but not LabVIEW 2012.
    Thank you!

    Dr Spaceman,
Generally we recommend that most people use the 32 bit version of LabVIEW unless they are planning on using our vision software. Many of our toolkits and modules only work with LabVIEW 32 bit. This article talks more about the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/71E9408E6DEAD76C8625760B006B6F98

  • Which display driver package do I need for Nvidia Quadro NVS 110m?

    Hi there,
I'm new to (Arch) Linux and was wondering which display driver package I need. I have a Dell Latitude D620 with a "nvidia quadro nvs 110m".
In the Arch Linux beginners guide it says:
    1. nvidia-96xx slightly newer cards up to the GF 4.
    2. nvidia-173xx Geforce FX series cards
    3. nvidia newest GPUs after the GF FX
Consult the NVIDIA-Homepage to see which one is for you.
But on the NVIDIA-Homepage it says:
The GeForce M series and GeForce Go series notebook GPUs use drivers that have been customized by the notebook manufacturers to support hot key functions, power management functions, lid close and suspend/resume behavior. NVIDIA has worked with some notebook manufacturers to provide notebook-specific driver updates, however, most notebook driver updates must come from the notebook manufacturer.
And they just forward me to Dell Support which obviously neither offers a linux driver nor linux driver information for the D620.
So which of the three packages do I have to install?
Are these packages open-source drivers? Do I need proprietary nvidia drivers to get full 3D-performance?
Does anybody have experience with the D620?
Although I'm new to Linux and I like the KISS idea behind Arch Linux, I still want to have all that Compiz Fusion eye candy. I also want to play a few games which need 3D performance (once I'm familiar with wine). ;-)
Thanks in advance for your help,

    Thanks a lot.
Final question: How does Arch Linux deal with license issues? If the nvidia package includes the original nvidia drivers linked above, doesn't that cause any legal/moral problems? Like in Ubuntu for example they always point out that it's proprietary software you're gonna install when enabling the nvidia drivers.
    Just wondering...
