Forbidden: Error 403

I just changed modems recently. Ever since I installed the new modem I can only get Firefox to work as my browser.
This is what I see in Safari:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access http://www.google.com/ on this server.
Apache Server at www.google.com Port 8100
Any suggestions on how to fix this? I've tried resetting Safari and redownloading it. I currently have 3.1.2 installed.
Thank you!
M

Check the modem documentation for more answers.
HTTP is port 80 (not 8100).
All come with some "configuration" software that uses a browser to make settings changes. You enter a specific address in the browser window and "talk" to the modem to make changes.
Most modems also include a "reset" button (usually recessed) that should set back to factory defaults while others need to be unplugged for five minutes to reset.

  • [SOLVED] Apache Access forbidden Error 403 localhost

    Hello,
    I believe this should be some thing very stupid, but I  can't find it... so here I am.
    I have just installed apache (# pacman -S apache)
    Configured httpd.comf, and created 2 virtual hosts with extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
    When I believed every thing was ok, I have started Apache as root (# apachectl start)
    Started ok, no errors (also tried start it as user with sudo, and /etc/init.d/httpd start)
    So when I go to http://localhos (or the virtual host) I allways get Access forbidden Error 403
    I have set 777 permissions to /srv/http and the virtual host (/home/username/local-web/site1.dev)
    I have tried every thing , changed dir owners to "http:http" ...
    At the Apache error log I get:
    "[Thu Oct 29 02:39:48 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to / denied"
    There is a very simple plain index.html file at /srv/http and the virtual host, all file/dir permissions very permisive... so that can't be the problem.
    Am I missing some thing? Do I need to manually create the "http" user and/or add it to some group?

    Ok, here's the code:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/etc/httpd" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/etc/httpd//var/log/httpd/foo_log".
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
    # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
    # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
    ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    #Listen 12.34.56.78:80
    Listen 80

  • Getting a "403 Forbidden" error when I login ..

    Hi all ... Well yesterday I did a new installation of Oracle Express Edition 11g DB, which installed fine ... I then installed OC4J, and then finally installed APEX Listener 4.1 ...
    Now, when I opened 127.0.0.1:8888/apex/listenerAdmin for the very first time .. I saw a page where I was to configure the connection .. At that point I was unable to get the 'Basic' connection working (I think the error was that the Listener was unable at connect to the database), and so I closed down that page ..
    Now, one day later, when I open 127.0.0.1:8888/apex/listenerAdmin, I am asked for some login details ... I don't know what to put here to login .. In fact I have not successfully logged in here even once ..
    However, some clues are as follows: Before installing APEX Listener, I defined some new roles and users from the OC4J web interface ... If I try logging in through any of these, I get the '403 Forbidden' error ... Otherwise, if I enter any other random login details, the same login box keeps popping up ..
    So anyone know whats the problem here ? ... I suspect that no connect between APEX Listener and the Oracle DB is yet defined, which is why these problems are occuring ...
    I tried 'undeploying' APEX listener from the OC4J web interface, and then again 'deploying' it, but the exact same thing is happening ..
    Can anyone help me out here ?
    EDIT:
    I assume maybe I'm supposed to use the APEX_PUBLIC_USER account, which I configured in oracle before installing APEX (as per intructions in Oracle installation guides), but even when I try logging in through APEX_PUBLIC_USER, my login details are not accepted ... Also, I AM able to login into Oracle Database using APEX_PUBLIC_USER, but not in APEX Listener ... And since unlike what I described above, when I enter my APEX_PUBLIC_USER login details, the same login prompt keeps reappearing, meaning the login is not recognised at all ...

    Hi,
    Now, when I opened 127.0.0.1:8888/apex/listenerAdmin for the very first time .. I saw a page where I was to configure the connection .. At that point I was unable to get the 'Basic' connection working (I think the error was that the >Listener was unable at connect to the database), and so I closed down that page ..I think the page you actually opened was http://127.0.0.1:8888/apex/listenerConfigure . At least, this is the page for the initial configuration. You can call it again until you've configured the database successful for the first time.
    Now, one day later, when I open 127.0.0.1:8888/apex/listenerAdmin, I am asked for some login details ... I don't know what to put here to login .. In fact I have not successfully logged in here even once ..The admin page needs the credentials you've configured on your OC4J.
    However, some clues are as follows: Before installing APEX Listener, I defined some new roles and users from the OC4J web interface ... If I try logging in through any of these, I get the '403 Forbidden' error ...... which you seem to have done, but probably you've some typo in there. Please note that you have to use the exact role names as described in the installation manual. A common problem is that users don't care about case sensitivity... This would fit to the symptom: You have a correct username/password combination, so the basic authentication is done, but the user is not authorized to call listenerAdmin because he doesn't have the appropriate role.

    Hi,

    PS, I`m using the latest safari 8.0.3 and OS X 10.10.2.

    It's an error message from the web server, not from Safari. There's a slight chance that you might be able to clear it as follows.
    From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...

    I have tried to upload my site countless times, but never successfully - it is a huge headache. That said, I have never gotten the "403 Forbidden - no permissions" before.
    All other failures threw the error "404, can not locate the URL "/" on this server.
    Any help will be enormously appreciated.
    P.S. : Are there permissions preferences on Firefox? I found one under Tools Menu, but it didn't seem to address my problem.
    Thanks

    I get the same thing with Firefox, IE8, Opera, and Safari. It isn't a Firefox only problem.
    Are you new to that webhosting service? <br /> Have you ever uploaded web pages to that same web hosting service previously, pages that worked after an upload? <br /> Are those pages listed as ''' "public" ''' pages in your web hosts control panel?
    My suggestion is to "download" your homepage and associated files & images from your PC, up to the server, using your web hosts control panel and see how that works.
    Beyond that, I suspect that you might have missed an important setting in Dreanweaver for uploading to the web host's server. You might try asking about this issue at a Dreamweaver support forum.

  • 403 Forbidden Error on directory but not on index page.

    I can't seem to find the source of the 403 Forbidden error. Index page works as expected but accessing the owncoud directory throws this error. Configs below.

    Also keep in mind that I've installed owncloud using the source downloaded from the website. I previously installed using the pacman, but wanted to configure it to be under a sub directory and not as my web root.

  • Sharepoint web application was unable and show error 403 forbidden and 503 server errors

    Hi
    i some times loose connection to sharepoint site where i am working with,i was just run some powershell scripts to update
    a filed value in a document library only
    and it some times show in browser 403 Forbidden error and some times 503 server error
    when i check in event viewer i got this below errors
    adil

    That particular 'error' is OK. It just means that a non-Farm Admin service account doesn't have the rights to run that sproc. Normal with best practice security in mind.
    You may want to check the IIS logs to see what the
    subcode for the 403/503 errors are.

  • HTTP Error 403.16 - Forbidden, Your client certificate is either not trusted or is invalid.

    Dear Experts,
    I have tried mutual authentication with sample website as per below link:
    http://itq.nl/testing-with-client-certificate-authentication-in-a-development-environment-on-iis-8-5/#comment-19427
    1. Created a Root certificate, client and server certificate based on this root certificate by using Makecert command as per below link:
    2. Import these certificates in Trusted Root Certification authority of both the stores (Local and Current user)
    3. Created a sample website with HTML page
    4.Hosted this website in IIS with HTTPS binding and selected the above server certifcate
    5. Enabled "Require SSL" and selected "Require" under SSL settings of website
    6. Exported the client certificate in base64 format --> Edited in notepad --> made the key into single line
    7. Placed the above key under Configuration editor --> system.webServer/security/authentication/iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication --> one to one mapping with user credentials.
    8. I tried to access the website
    But, I ended with below error :(
    HTTP Error 403.16 - Forbidden
    Your client certificate is either not trusted or is invalid.
    Detailed Error Information:
    Module    IIS Web Core
    Notification    BeginRequest
    Handler    ExtensionlessUrlHandler-Integrated-4.0
    Error Code    0x800b0109
    Requested URL    https://localhost:443/
    Physical Path    E:\SampleRoot
    Logon Method    Not yet determined
    Logon User    Not yet determined
    Could you please let me know what I missed here.
    Note:
    I am using windows8, IIS8.0.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    M. Prasad Reddy.

    Hi Prasad,
      As per this case, I have been shared the corresponding details below
      1.First of all,make sure that you import the certificate whether it belongs to Trusted RootCertification or not .
        If that is the case ,Goto Microsoft Management Console (MMC), open the Certificates snap-in.
        For instance, the certificate store that WCF is configured to retrieve X.509 certificates from, select the Trusted RootCertification Authoritiesfolder. Under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder, right-click the Certificatesfolder,
    point to All Tasks, and then click Import.
      2.you configured the server certificate as well, But check the client certificate whether have root certificate or not by following command?
    makecert -pe -n "CN=SSLClientAuthClient"
             -eku 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.2 -is root -ir localmachine -in WebSSLTestRoot
             -ss my -sr currentuser -len 2048
      3. Also check the Service Certificate whether its configured on the WCF Service side
      4.Make sure that you followed all the steps are done correctly from your given referred link below
    http://itq.nl/testing-with-client-certificate-authentication-in-a-development-environment-on-iis-8-5/#comment-19427
      5.Besides, please try to set the require SSL as ignore to see if you can access the website.
    If the above details cannot able to resolve this issue, please post your config file here.

  • Can't sign up for eprintcenter-I get this error ---Ajax submit failed: error = 403, Forbidden

    Bought my 6700 printer yesterday.  Set it all up, prints fine.  Got the print out that tells me to go to the eprintcenter.com and "sign up and enter your printer code."
    Every time I enter any information, I get this error code:  Ajax submit failed: error = 403, Forbidden
    I've tried entering my personal email, the eprint email--in short I've tried everything and can't register for an account so I can customize my printer email address, etc.  Can some one help?

    Tifmel,
    I do apologize that you are having this issue. If you are still having this issue, I would suggest using a different web browser (i.e. internet explorer, google chrome, mozilla firefox). There are more that are available but those are just a few examples. I sure hope you can get everything worked out. Thanks again!!!!

  • Getting "Error 403--Forbidden" while accessing ADF bookmarked URL

    Hi,
    Here am trying to work with an ADF application to suport bookmarking.
    Following are the steps I did to create a sample application.
    Created a bounded task-flow (user-details.xml), which has the "Method call" as default activity along with an another view activity(userData.jsff page).
    This task-flow takes an input parameter "Id" to display user details. In the method call activity user data will be initialized using the given input parameter and then the data will be displayed using userData.jsff page.
    Created a view activity (details.jspx page) in adfc-config.xml file.
    Marked the "details.jspx" file as bookmark-able by changing "Bookmark property to true" and given a Bookmark URL Parameter "Name is Id and Value is #{pageFlowScope.user_id}".
    Dropped the bounded task-flow user-details.xml as a region into the details.jspx file.
    Now the user_id which is coming as URL Parameter will be passed to user-details.xml task-flows input parameter value.
    Created users.jspx page which lists all the users as home page. In the users.jspx page we'll have a link to user details page with a parameter Id.
    By running the application will get users page. When I click on the user details link in the users page, the app showing user details page as expected.
    Now I bookmarked the user details page. If I open the bookmarked page in the same tab, it is working fine. But when I open this bookmark in a new tab getting the "Error 403--Forbidden" response.
    Bookmarked URL: localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/faces/user_details?id=123&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrLoop=4884151149818&_adf.ctrl-state=35yghmx4f_18
    When I click the above bookmark in another tab the url is processing for few seconds ( 2 to 3 seconds) and converts to localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/ and giving 403 response. At this time it is not touching my beans at all (verified this by running the server in debug mode).
    Web.xml looks like:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
             xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"

  • 403 forbidden error received at Trade Partner side while sending data to XI

    Hi XI Experts,
    We have a B2B scenario from TP1 to another TP2 via XI in our production system. The interface is working fine and messages are flowing successfully. However, the Trade Partner HUB has decided to implement a new eCommerce Business Platform at their end. That's why they have provided AS2 ID of sender and Receiver to us to make the changes in Quality environment. I have done the same in our Quality system.
    Flow: We are able to send the data successfully to the AS2 ID provided by Hubgroup. Where as we are not able to receive any data from HUB.
    Last Friday, Hubgroup has received the error while sending data to XI. And in our Sender AS2 channel, we also received the following error.
    a) HUB Side error:
                              Here is a copy of the MDN Message send to HUB:
                             The message you sent on "Thu, 14 Oct 2010 07:14:51 GMT" from "XXXXXXXX" to
                            "XXXXXXXXX" with subject "Integrator Message" has been received on 14 Oct
                             2010 19:14:52 GMT, but cannot be processed because message authentication
                             failed.
    b) XI AS2 channel error:
                             Error type: PANIC >> Error date: 10/14/10 11:48 AM >> Description: Initiate
                             Error:com.seeburger.util.configuration.ConfigurationException: Failed to lookup report channel for failed inbound
                             message. Reason : com.seeburger.xi.config.ConfigException: No matching inbound binding (report) found for
                             FromParty: ToParty: subject:Integrator Message [10/14/10 11:48 AM]
                      I have done the following things: 1) Cache refreshed 2) Recreated the 1st part from HUB to XI. 3) Checked the Agreements and Receiver Determination and also the AS2 ID's 4) Also checked the URL in communication channel. I have created the scenario with out any mapping. I want to receive the data from HUBGROUP with out any changes. For that, I will be using a dummy interface and dummy namespace in configuration.
    When we test last night, HUB side they have received 403 forbidden error message and we didn;t receive any message to XI.
    Note: XI3.0 version we are using currently. We are upgrading to PI 7.11 in the next month.
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abdullah Shaik.
    Edited by: Abdullah Shaik on Oct 20, 2010 9:06 AM

    Hi Abdullah ,
    here are a few things that you can check:
    1) Message authentication failed
    - Check the authentication certificate settings.
    - Disable the u201Cauthentication requiredu201D flag, if messages without authentication are to be received.
    2) Partner received HTTP Error 403 u201Cforbiddenu201D.
    This error may have different reasons:
    a) You or your partner has entered an incorrect AS2 ID for one of the involved parties.
    b) A valid sender agreement is missing.
    c) There are more then one AS2 sender agreements with the same sender AND receiver party.
    d) The corresponding inbound channel is set to inactive.
    regards,
    Daniel

  • 403 Forbidden Error while trying to access External SharePoint site in SP 2010

    I am trying to access external Claims based SP site and trying to download the file from a doc library.
    I am receiving the 403 Forbidden error when executing the code.
    I am using SP 2010 and Client Object Model.
    PFB the code I am running.
    using (SPCOM.ClientContext clientContext = ClaimClientContext.GetAuthenticatedContext(siteURL))
    if (clientContext != null)
    clientContext.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
    clientContext.Load(clientContext.Web);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    SPCOM.Web web = clientContext.Web;
    clientContext.Load(web);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    using (SPCOM.FileInformation fInfo = SPCOM.File.OpenBinaryDirect(clientContext, item["FileRef"].ToString()))
    string fileName = (string)item["FileRef"];
    fileName = string.Concat(SaveLocation, fileName.Substring(fileName.LastIndexOf("/") + 1));
    //now save it
    using (System.IO.FileStream outPutFile = System.IO.File.OpenWrite(fileName))
    fInfo.Stream.CopyTo(outPutFile);
    fInfo.Stream.Close();
    I suspect the OpenBinaryDirect method ,
    I am also using Cookie based authentication I guess PFB the code for that.
    public static ClientContext GetAuthenticatedContext(string targetSiteUrl)
    return (GetAuthenticatedContext(targetSiteUrl, 0, 0));
    /// <summary>
    /// This method will return a ClientContext object with the authentication cookie set.
    /// The ClientContext should be disposed of as any other IDisposable
    /// </summary>
    /// <param name="targetSiteUrl"></param>
    /// <returns></returns>
    public static ClientContext GetAuthenticatedContext(string targetSiteUrl, int popUpWidth, int popUpHeight)
    CookieCollection cookies = null;
    cookies = ClaimClientContext.GetAuthenticatedCookies(targetSiteUrl, popUpWidth, popUpHeight);
    if (cookies == null) return null;
    ClientContext context = new ClientContext(targetSiteUrl);
    try
    context.ExecutingWebRequest += delegate(object sender, WebRequestEventArgs e)
    e.WebRequestExecutor.WebRequest.CookieContainer = new CookieContainer();
    foreach (Cookie cookie in cookies)
    e.WebRequestExecutor.WebRequest.CookieContainer.Add(cookie);
    catch
    if (context != null) context.Dispose();
    throw;
    return context;
    If anyone has an idea of why is this happening, pls help me.
    Thanks,
    K.V.N.PAVAN

    Hi,
    Please try to add following line of code before you initialize cookie container.
    e.WebRequestExecutor.WebRequest.UserAgent = “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0)”;
    http://razirais.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/how-to-fix-sharepoint-online-403-forbidden-error-while-downloading-files-using-client-object-model/
    Or change the following line of code
    clientContext.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
    to
    clientContext.Credentials=new NetworkCredential("Username", "Passworkd", "Domain");
