Force Acrobat 9.4 to use 8.5" by 11"?

Scenario: A user scans several documents to jpg format, then attempts to combine them into one pdf using Acrobat 9; some of the scanned docs are typical letter-size (8.5" x 11"), yet some others are much smaller (say, 4" by 4"). When the pdf is created, naturally some pages display as normal letter-sized pages, while others are shrunken. Is there a way to force all pages in a pdf document to be 8.5" by 11" so the document preview and printing options are uniform?

"No option to specify the fields in WHERE condition", what does this mean?
How is s_kunnr filled when this query runs?
How does your Z03 index look like?
"Even the table also going to short dump", what does this mean?
What dumps are you seeing, time outs?
A hint only affects this very statement where it is used, no other statements in the same or other programs.
Introducing or removing indexes can affect your entire system.

  • How do I force Acrobat 11 Professional users to use the "save as" verses "save"?

How do I force Acrobat 11 Professional users to use the "save as" verses "save"?  I want the users to type in a fillable form, but not save their edits on the original form.  I want them to be able to save with a different file name.

You can't really force it, but you can encourage it... For example, you can set the file as read-only and add an instruction to do so before the file is saved using a script.

  • Can Acrobat 9 Multi-Thread (use all my cpu cores)

i have several 700+ page thick PDF documents i want to run OCR on. i can batch run them just fine, however i cannot get adobe to use more than one core of my 8 core iMac. so the process takes needlessly long because 87% of my CPU power is just sitting idle. i also cannot do anything with adobe while it is running its OCR program.
is there a way to force acrobat to be multi-threaded?
is there a way to use it for other things while its working?

Nope, no version of Acrobat is a multithreaded application. See the first bullet point: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/DevFAQ_Introduction.21.16.ht ml

  • How to force acrobat to perform ocr?

    Hi Folks,
Is there any way I can force acrobat to perform an OCR on pages which it says have "renderable text"?  The problem is that, when I copy and paste from the document, I just get a bunch of gobbledegook out.  You can see the problem document here: http://www.gofc-gold.uni-jena.de/redd/sourcebook/Sourcebook_Version_Nov_2009_cop15-1.pdf
    Thanks!
    Acrobat Professional 9.2.0
    XP SP3

That there is no real solution to this, after many years is an indication that either:
    Adobe does not care, or
    Adobe does not get it.
I was about to suggest my employer upgrade to a newer version of Acrobat, but see no indication that Adobe has really fixed the problem.
PDFs can contain multiple layers.  When there is bitmapped text, from a scan, and "renderable text" such as a footer containing a document identification number (there are many, many, millions of such pages used in the legal world every day) then for reasons only the programmers at Adobe can explain, Acrobat is incapable of running OCR on the bitmap and leaving the rendered text in its own layer.
This is not a difficult problem. Since Acrobat can deal with layers making up each page, it should be somewhat trivial to have the OCR function find the bitmapped layer and operate on that layer.
Instead Acrobat gives the LAME error message.
The "fix" of saving to TIFF and back is a pain-in-the-arse work-around. It even froze Acrobat when I tried to save to TIFF.
The "fix" of ignoring renderable text in the margin area and running OCR on the interior bitmap is also not acceptable.
Adobe, you once were a reputable company. You gave the world Postscript. You gave the world PDFs. Why can't you get the OCR function to work properly in Acrobat?

I am trying to drag and drop one page of a .pdf into another .pdf in Acrobat Reader.  I used to be able to drag and drop from one .pdf to another.

If you could drag and drop pages before, it wasn't in Reader. You no doubt had Adobe Acrobat (Pro or Standard) which shouldn't be confused with Adobe Acrobat Reader. They recently added Acrobat to the name of Adobe Reader so the confusion about which product you had and/or have is understandable.

Yes, that appears how Mavericks works right now. However, you can open the Address Panel, select all your contacts, then click the To (or CC, or Bcc) buttons to move the selection to the address field.
If it is not already in the Toolbar, right-click on the Toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
Then, drag the address panel up to wherever you want it.
You may also want to add it to the New Message window in the same way.

  • What levels of Acrobat are needed to use forms created in Acrobat Pro 9?

What levels of Acrobat are needed to use forms created in Acrobat Pro 9? I want to use my form as a job ticket but want to know what levels of adobe reader are needed for the end users to be able to fill out & submit the forms without any problems.

Reader 7 and higher should be able to fill out forms and submit if the pdf format allows Reader 7 to fill out the form. However, without problems is a different issue. Submission of forms via email is ALWAYS a problem. It is always better to post the form on a website and have the form filled out on the web and have the data stored or sent to a database for further action.

hello there! i am using Adobe acrobat pro DC and using windows 8.1. Recently I was trying to convert a web page (includes Greek letters) into PDF. I noticed that the conversion is not accurate, some words are missing, some are misplaced. Especially Greek words are not accurately converted or even not converted. Please give me some suggestions to improve this issue. Regards

    Hey quantum info,
Thank you for posting at Adobe forums. We would love to help you out.
Could you please let me know if you have tried converting other web pages to PDF and checked if the same issue persists.
How have you been trying to convert the web page to PDF?
Are you trying to convert to PDF directly via browsers or using "File > Create > PDF from Web Page"  option in Acrobat.
Let me know more so that I can analyze where actually the issue persists.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Is there a way to flip the pages in a .pdf so that all of the text is readable (in other words all documents are right side up)?  I have Adobe Acrobat X and am using Windows 8.1.

Is there a way to flip the pages in a .pdf so that all of the text is readable (in other words all documents are right side up)?  I have Adobe Acrobat X and am using Windows 8.1.

I have a pdf with over 2,000 pages, many of which are sideways.  I do not want to manually flip each one (few are next to each other).  Is there a way to automate the function so that all sideways or upside down text pages are righted?

  • A script to force acrobat to play avi content with built in flash player instead of quicktime

Hello, is there a script that would force acrobat to play embedded avi content with the built in flash player instead of the quicktime player?  first reason is that the built in quicktime player doesn't play the avi files anyway (for me at least); and second is that there are hundreds of sound clips in the pdf, and it is likely that i will have to revise the document and export again, so I can't manually change the properties of each sound clip to open with flash player.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Buy software have wmv to Vp6 function.

  • Will Acrobat 9 Pro run using Windows 7?

Will Acrobat 9 Pro run using Windows 7?

This machine is Win7, 32-bit, and AA 9 has run on it from day one. Folks have even reported AA 8 running on both 32 and 64-bit versions of Win7, though there were some issues with the 64-bit version. Win7 is not one of the certified versions for AA 9, but I suspect you would have no problems. Win8.1 might be a different story. It sounds like you are considering upgrading your machine. I can not say without question you will have no problems, but my guess is that it will work fine. It would be a good idea to consider upgrading if you have a chance and the cash.

  • I use Acrobat X1 Pro. When I launch it I get these pop up about buying or trying DC. I pressed the privacy link to stop it, but it hasn't. It says Acrobat Application Manger. It literally overrides launching Acrobat x1. I use a macbook pro with yosemite.

I use Acrobat Pro X1. I use a macbook Pro with Yosemite. Was working fine. Last time I launched the software, I got this Abrobat Application Manager poping up and overriding the Acrobat launch asking to buy or try Acrobat DC. I can't make it go away, even when I press the privacy link. Please don't tell me this is some malware bug. Should I uninstall the current AX1Pro and reinstall it. This is very frustrating.
