Force close message - application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly

Just started to get the fore close message "application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly. I even did a factory reset and still it is showing up. Funny that Lenovos own App Store is causing the force close message. Frustrating....have had the K1 for 3 weeks with no problems and now this everytime i turn on the tablet i get the above message twice.

I just bought the K1 two weeks ago.  Soon after I received a system update, it said there was an App Store update available and, from then on, I received the error and force close message described above.  I just uninstalled the app and that solved the problem.  Are you suggesting that the app store app is what updates all of the apps I have loaded?  I just thought it was a marketing feature and thought it unnecessary since I could get to the app store another way by going to Apps and Shop.  Could someone clarify its purpose, please?  Thanks!

    Great suggestion Wildman!  Thanks!
simplyk1, so sorry you are experiencing this with your new device.  I am happy to further assist.
Wildman gave a great suggestion, I would like to add if you noticed this particular error message after downloading a specific application(s), uninstall the application.  I am including a link with instructions and screen shots for uninstalling applications below:

Also ensure your device is running the latest software version.  The current Build number should read: SCH-I500.ED05, if not update the device software.

  • [A1] Application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly

I've had my slate for about a week and this message keeps popping up upon boot. And it keeps coming back.
I haven't rooted it, I haven't installed anything off-market, I've just slapped on a screen protector and upgraded to the latest OTA (http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/OTA/A107W0_A234_001_014_2525_ROW.zip).
I've powered the system down for a few minutes and put the charger on, but the next time I power on, it boots up slower. I have to wait about 30 seconds to enter the Unlock screen, and another 10 before my Home screen icons appear.
If I try to switch between the standard Home Launcher panes, the scrolling stutters. If I open the built-in web browser, the application launcher crashes and I enter the endless cycle of FORCE QUIT buttons. (I can try to enter the icon list, but it's blank.)
I've done the hold-the-power-button-until-the-device-turns-off, power-on and enter Recovery menu and deleted everything off my slate (return to Factory Settings) and reinstalled everything (save for the OTA ROM which remained there) and things were working fine until a few minutes ago when I wanted to complain about Airplane mode. Airplane mode, let me make another thread on that.
In a nutshell, this Force Quit message is annoying. The slow power-on is annoying. Power-off/power-on does nothing. Factory-reset does nothing. And I've got an Airplane mode bug now. What's wrong and how do I fix it? (I'm already getting the support number on lenovo.com/support/phone ( http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?DocID=PD008893 ) and calling them Monday morning.)

perhaps a master reset will reoslve your issue.
I have the same problem after master reset the issue is gone

  • Com.vcast.mediamanager has stopped unexpectedly

The error message that is bombarding my phone display, constantly:
    The application Backup+
    Media (process com.vcast.
    mediamanager) has stopped
    unexpectedly.  Please try
    again.
I think it may have began after I connected my Motorola Android Pro to my PC for the first time; however, cannot confirm this is related.  I transfer files using "mass storage" so that the phone appears as a drive letter in Windows.  I do not install any special drivers or use any software.  I do not use Media manager.
During the day, when I use my Motorola Android Pro to, for example, send a text message, or receive a phone call, I have to click OK on a prompt with the error message I posted above.  The error message goes away, but will pop up again, and again, throughout the day.  I cannot answer an incoming call without clicking CLOSE on the error.  This error is relentless.  Closing the error message only makes it go away for a short time, then it comes back.  When I click the error box it states that I am "closing" the process.  It doesn't stay closed, it just comes back again.  The error pop up interrupts whatever I am doing on the phone.  I have searched the web trying to discover a resolution.  In doing so, I believe the error has to do with Verizon's VCast Media Manager app.  This isn't something I need.
I don't want "VCast Media Manager". I don't need it.  I think it has to do with backing up contacts, which is something I can do via Google.
My question is, is there a way to get rid of the offending app, and if not, what is the official Verizon fix for this so I can live without this reoccurring error?
Please, a supported solution, an no recommendations to "root" or alter my device in a way that will void warranty. Thank you.

        Hi there LazyGirl!
A reoccurring error message sure can put a damper on one's day, but please know that I'm here to brighten things up and work my magic to get that error to disappear.
Based on your description of things, I'm left to conclude that it's relative to your Backup Assistant application not working properly on your device. With that said, please go to settings > applications > manage applications > all > Backup Assistant. From there, clear data and force stop the application and see how it reacts from there. Hopefully you won't see the error again and if you do, please let me know.

  • Process com.android.phone has stopped...

I received a message saying I need to clear some space on my phone to receive any further messages. Then I started receiving error messages the first one says Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. This pops up repeatedly non-stop. I can't place calls, get into any apps, I really can't do anything. If I restart the phone I get the error message System UIDs Inconsistent with the only option to click "I feel lucky".
I tried putting the phone in safe mode, but the same error message keeps popping up, it still says my phone is low on memory, and I can't do anything with my phone.
What do I do?? Please help!

        Hey there trinarose!
I know how much of a burden it can be to get an error on your phone like this! I want to help you out. It sounds like there is a corrupt file on the device. At this point what I would recommend is a master reset of the device. Take a look at the steps here http://bit.ly/OgmMQm. Please remember to save all your information prior to erasing the phone. Please let us know if you're still having issues with this.
    Thanks!

  • "com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" error

I have the first motorola droid that came out(A855). I keep getting this error message on my phone "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" Gives me the option to force close or report. I have the latest software update(Droid 2.2). I have tried everything to fix this problem, reboot and take the battery out, cut off the cdma signals. I have did the factory data reset on it and the hard reset and it still did not go away. I think it is a bug in the software but not for sure. Do I need to send it to motorola to get it repaired are something? I can receive phone calls and make calls but as soon as I do the error pops up. I can send text messages but cant receive them. Please, anyone, Help Me Fix This Problem, Thanks

Take it back to verizon, you have a 1 year warranty, they will make you jump through the hoops, including doing another factory reset, but you should be able to get a replacement.

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

  • Unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped. Sony Xperia M2

Hello guys. Basically I'm really concerned and frustrated right now. I own a Sony Xperia M2. And I turn my phone on only to find a message pops up saying 'Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. So I press 'OK'. And then my phone starts to glitch out and it keeps coming up repeatedly. I can't get into or tap anything. It ends up freezing. I have tried rebooting the phone lots of times but still has the same effect. And I've tried going to PC companion and restoring it there but it says it needs access to the lock screen, which I can't unlock as the phone keeps glitching. This is really bugging me. Please help?

  • Error Message:  "the process com.htc.bg has stopped"

Does anyone have any idea what this means and why it constantly happens on my device?  It doesn't appear to effect any functioning except popping up inbetween apps and is annoying.

Never had this happen to me but from posts on other forums it seems to be s social network sync problem. If you have facebook or twitter set to sync try turning it off and see if that works. Menu; settings; accounts & sync....uncheck facebook or twitter or any social media set to sync. If that works you can add them back to sync one at a time until you find the culprit.
