Force Digit grouping different from Regional Settings

I use Excel sheets with financial numbers in various currencies. Most of them need a digit grouping of 123,456,789, hence my regional settings are set to us that format. Only when I use cells showing India Rupees, I need a digit grouping of 12,34,56,789.
Is there a way of defining a custom format that I can set in a Macro, and apply it to specific cells only, without changing the way the whole of Excel (or for that matter, the whole computer) behaves, by modifying the regional settings?
Thanks in advance for any help!
best regards,
Shripad.

  • How to modify regional settings and keep Acrobat 9.4.1 working?

When I modify the regional settings on my W7 PC (i.e. switching the decimal symbol and digit grouping symbol from dot to comma and vice-versa), I cannot print to Adobe PDF Printer nor can I convert Office documents to PDF files anymore. It seem like the joboptions files were getting corrupted (I can see read errors).
Can anyone advise on how to modify the regional settings and keep Acrobat 9.4.1 Pro working properly? Do I have to adopt the joboptions files (and if yes, how?)?
    Thank you for your advice!

The defaults for three are blank entries. That is there are no defaults, The only way to get those back to being blank would be to delete your preferences file ( Home->Library->Preferences->com.apple.Aperture,plist ) and possibly the files in *Home->Library->Program Support->Aperture* (but I don't think you would need to do these, not sure.)
However before you do this you should know there is no drawback to having these entries filled in. Aperture would only attempt to use them if you actually selected them while using Aperture. It won't be looking for them on startup. And if the programs pointed to by these entries no longer exist on your system Aperture won't even fill in the names in the menu items where these are pointed to ( *Photos->Edit with* for example)

  • Windows 8 and IE10 and 11 not accepting Proxy Settings via Group Policy from windows server 2003

    Hi
We are still running Windows Server 2003 with a Win7 and Win8 desktop environment. I can control Win7 IE9 settings,
But Win8 systems are running IE10. We have an internal proxy server.
Is there any way to force the proxy settings to the Win8/IE10 or 11 systems .
i have tried with The IE 10 .adm template and applied gpo,but does not have any proxy settings for ie10 and no changes were applies
please can anyone help me regarding this
i want to apply GPO from windows server 2003  to windows 8 ie10/11
    Thanks
    KNC

    Hi,
I agree with Zanderol24, we can install RSAT on a windows8 client, and then we can use Group Policy Management to manage group policy from the client.
For more information about RSAT, we can refer to the following link:
Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) for Windows Client and Windows Server (dsforum2wiki)
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2202.remote-server-administration-tools-rsat-for-windows-client-and-windows-server-dsforum2wiki.aspx
For more detailed information about how to use GPP to configure the proxy setting for ie10 and ie11, we can refer to the following link:
How to configure Group Policy Preference settings for Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2898604
When we use GPPs you need to be aware of the F5-F8 keys:
Red / Green: GP Preferences doesn’t work even though the policy applied and after gpupdate \force
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/grouppolicy/archive/2008/10/13/red-green-gp-preferences-doesn-t-work-even-though-the-policy-applied-and-after-gpupdate-force.aspx
Besides, aside from using group policy to manage IE, IEAK can also be used to do this.
For IEAK, the following article can be referred to for more information.

Account assignment for group asset is different from that in asset
    Message no. AA810
    Diagnosis
The account allocation 14000 of the group asset 140000001 0 is different from account allocation 1000 of the asset.
    System Response
This error needs to be corrected for balance sheet valuation (usually determined in depreciation area 01). For all other depreciation areas, this is only a warning you should check.
    Procedure
Check your entry. When an individual asset has a different account assignment than the group asset, it is not possible to reconcile the individual asset to the group asset in reporting by means of accounts.

  • DVD Drive won't work! (DVD region settings?)

My DVD drive does not seem to be working. I sent it in for servicing and was told that they changed the drive.
However, it still does not accept/recognize DVDs at all when I insert them. I recently travelled overseas and changed my region from region 4 to region 1. I have not changed it back, but cannot figure out how to even open the settings.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks!

The drive automatically detects that a disk with a different region was inserted. You can only change it 5 times however. If you continue having problems take it to your nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.

  • Currency in report taken from regional setting and not infocube

    Dear All,
I am facing very strange issue. I am using BEx analyzer 7.0
I executed a report in Windows 2000, Excel 2003. The values are displayed correctly with currency which is in cube irrespective of the currency set in regional option in control panel.
We are doing testing on windows vista and excel 2007 as we will upgrade to SAP GUI 7.10 and windows vista. I executed the report and the result values are matching but the currency is differant. The currency is taken from the regional settings in control panel. If I go to regional setting and change the currency, the report which is open in BEx analyzer changes the currency.
We are facing this strange issue for only queries on 1 infocube. Other queries on another infocubes/multicubes are working fine.
Has anyone faced the same issue. Please provide some pointers/solutions for above issue.
    Regards,
    Niraj

    Hi Shalu
    The Library 0FL has 4 currencies... i.e.
    HSL  - Local Currency
    TSL   - Transaction Curre
    KSL  - Second Currency
    OSL  - Third Currency
Go to GRR2 (Report form of your report), and double click on any column... You choose Key Figures in the Columns in a areport painter report... there you would have chosen any one of these currencies...
Right click on the column and Copy it and paste it... Now change the Key Figure of the copied column to the one you desire...
This should give you values in both currency...
To identify which form you have used in GRR2 - Execute your report and go to Extras Menu > Technical Information.. In the pop up window that opens, double click on field "Report".

  • Pricing for BP working in Foreign Currency only (differs from Sys. Curr.)

    Hello,
a vendor is setup with currency = Euro
The issue is that when creating a marketing document the item price
shows/loads is in USD ( The Total Doc is the total amount in Euro).
When I go into the line item and change the Item Price it changes the currency to Euro.
The item is purchased only from this vendor and all transactions ar handled in Euros.
The questions I have are for SAP Business One  2005 SP01 default system:
Can I have the line item loaded with the Euro Price - in the Item Price and not the USD?
Is there a way to have a price list with Euro or any foreing Currency different from the system currency?
Can I setup special prices for the BP and the items in Euro /Foreign Currency?
    Thank you,
    Massi

    Hi Massi,
you will need to create a EUR price list & link that to the BP :
To create a price list(PL) in a currency different from the local currency (LC) follow the steps below:
    1. Go to stock management -> Price Lists -> either rename an existing PL orcreate a new one by clicking on Data -> Add row or pressing Ctrl+I.
    2. Give the PL an appropriate name, e.g. 'Euro Price List'.
    3. Select itself as Base Price List.
    4. Set a factor of '1'.
    5. Set a rounding method as appropriate.
    6. Assign an appropriate authorisation group.
    7. Click on 'Update.
    8. Double-click on the row number of the new PL.
    9. Enter the item prices with the 3 digit prefix of the currency, here EUR.
    10. Update after each price entered.
    11. Assign this PL to the apprpriate business partners (BP) under Business Partners -> Business Partner Master Data -> select BP -> Tab Payment Terms -> select from drop down list in 'Price List' field.
Just keep in mind that this PL cannot be based on any PL that is not kept in EUR, hence it must be updated manually.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Regional Settings differences between 2008 and 2012

    Hi There,
Can anyone explain why some of the regional setting details have changed with Win 2012?
    Example: Dutch (Belgium) - nl-BE
The 'Digital Grouping Symbol' has changed from a DOT to a WHITESPACE.
    2008 - €1.000,00 whereas 2012 - €1 000,00
If the settings are changed on the servers will they persist after OS updates etc?
    Rgds,
    Frank

    Hi Vivian,
I see no reference in the KB article to modifications for the CET timezone nor any reference to the resolution of culture format info discrepancies.
A further issue is that the active regional settings on our PRD servers will be set to United States and it would appear that any modification to the Belgium locales (i.e. nl-BE, fr-BE) are not persisted once you switch to United States as the
    active setting.
The knock on effect of this is that for our PRD web-applications (which are active across many regions), we have to write code to override the OS information. .NET uses the OS info to populate its Culture information.
Could you confirm if the differences between 2008 and 2012 are the result of a bug or are the changes planned? Based on communication with some of our customers in Belgium, they are of the opinion that the 2008 (and Win 2003) settings are per their expectations.
I really do not what to have to handle these situations across our application landscape and am sure that other people with globalized applications will also hit problems.

  • Set with filter Expirationtime comparison current-datetime does not list members: regional settings?

    Hi all;
I've created a criteria-based set that has to filter for users that have an
    "expiration Time" "prior to" "today".
    xpath filter: /Person[ExpirationTime < fn:current-dateTime()]
I've got one user where I've set a date expired to a week ago.
When I click view members it does not return any results. When I change the logic to
"expiration Time" "after" "today".  to see how this logic works, it doesn't return any results either.
I'm working in Belgium, regional settings are d/MM/yyyy H:mm (in 24h format).
My browser language is also set to nl-BE, where FIM actually uses this in the PORTAL field too:
Today in Belgium is 16/09/2014 16:45. But My set returns 0 members.
I've read some articles that FIM needs the format in yyyy/MM/dd format (for import)
Is it correct that FIM Portal doesn't handle this XPATH current-dateTime() function correctly for foreign regional settings?
I've tried to set it current-dateTime("d/MM/yyyy") or other variants, but that gives an error when I'm trying to save.
    Kind regards,
    David

    Hi,
I've checked, the "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" is running, and set to automatic.
I've changed the Local default to "dutch (Belgium)" in the Site settings (it was English (US)):
I've launched iisreset to restart the website.
I've looked at the set, no members. I've validated if the users its date format was OK (and Belgian/European style) => it was.
I've played in the set with the different options (I'm translating as these are in Dutch):
     - Prior to 1 day
     - Prior to 1 day from today
     - Prior to "Tuesday 16 September 2014 0:00:00" (from a calendar control)
     - Prior to today
None of these returned any user records :(

  • How to convert string to date based on regional settings

How can I convert a simple string ("01/04/2003" or "01-04-2003" or "01 April 2003") to a date formatted according to the regional settings?
For example, if my regional settings is set to "dd mm yyyy", the result will be 01 as dd, 04 as mm and 2003 as yyyy.
If the regional settings is set to "mm dd yyyy", the result will be 01 as mm, 04 as dd and 2003 as yyyy
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance.

I think you have the wrong idea about how Oracle stores dates. Any date in Oracle is stored in a seven byte representation
    SQL> SELECT DUMP(last_hire_dt) FROM emp_t WHERE rownum = 1;
    DUMP(LAST_HIRE_DT)
Typ=12 Len=7: 119,191,5,6,1,1,1This storage is independent of the NLS date settings. The TO_CHAR(dt,format) and TO_DATE(str,format) functions serve to translate this internal representation into the external presentation supplied by the format. So, if you need to translate a date that is contained in a string into an Oracle date datatype, you need to tell Oracle how to parse the string.
If the string format matches your NLS_DATE_FORMAT parameter, Oracle will do this implicitly. Otherwise, you need to tell Oracle explicitly which piece is which. For example, is the string (ignoring the problem of two digit years :-) ):
    '02/01/03'
Feb. 1, 2003, Jan. 2, 2003, or Mar. 1, 2002? If your date format is dd-MON-yyyy as mine is, then:
    SQL> SELECT TO_DATE('02/01/03') FROM dual;
    SELECT TO_DATE('02/01/03') FROM dual
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01843: not a valid month
    SQL> SELECT TO_DATE('30-Jan-2003') FROM dual;
    TO_DATE('30
    30-JAN-2003HTH

  • Regional settings & OC4J

I have a JSP+Servlets application that uses Oracle iFS to gather information from different sources. The application is deployed with OC4J on Win2k advanced addition.
Every few days the OC4J starts to use a differnt regional settings - all its logs are using a different date+time formats and the main problem is that allt the hebrew strings transformed into question marks.
The only way I managed to solve the problem so far is to reboot the machine.
Does anyone familiar whith a better solution ?

    Hi,
If you are running a Cloud Deployment in which you deployed own image you could obviously, prior to uploading the image to Azure, make the necessary changes within the image to allow those to reflect to new users as part of the default profile. If you want
to allow users to specify their own regional settings you could publish the Control Panel for them as follows
For example here the Control Panel Regional Settings applet running as a Azure RemoteApp.

  • Problem with Crystal Report XI and Regional Settings

    Dear All,
I am working on Crystal Report XI under Chinese Windows 2000 Professional and Chinese Visual Foxpro 9.0.
I created a User defined Function Library under VFP9.0 as an ActiveX with a function that return a String. I could saw the function in CR XI and the function works fine when returning English. When the function returning a Chinese String, CR XI gives different result. The Chinese text returned from the function only works when my regional settings (control panel -> regional settings) is set to Chinese Taiwan otherwise it shows "??????".
It is queer, the text object always correct, shows Chinese text, no matter what regional settings is. I did try my best in VFP to convert the string to double byte, unicode, etc but it stilll doesn't work.
Could anyone help me please. Thank you.
    Regards,
    Antony

If you have the correct font, it will actually say "MS Arial Unicode" in any of the font drop downs - CR Designer, MS Word or any other software. So, you'll have to ensure that the font is installed.
